Joyner Lucas And Lil Baby Celebrate Moving Past The Days Of ‘Ramen & OJ’

Lil Baby has a whole lot on his plate at the moment. The Atlanta rap star is currently working on his The Voice And The Hero joint album with Lil Durk and his Lamborghini Boys tape which only features rappers that own the luxury vehicle, but when it comes to Lil Baby, the constant activity is something to expect from him.

In the midst of both projects, he teams up with Joyner Lucas for ‘Ramen & OJ.” The track is a tunnel vision effort that sees both rappers looking back on the difficult days of their lives, times that were financially dry and forced them to enjoy a meal of ramen noodles and orange juice more times than they would’ve liked.

Lucas and Baby also deliver a video for the collaboration which sees them going back and forth between their past actions and struggles and their current success and how the former can oftentimes catch up to the latter. The track is lil Baby’s third this week as he recently shared a remix of “On Me” with Megan Thee Stallion ,with a video that saw the southern rappers lead an icy kingdom. Shortly after that he teamed with YSL acts Young Thug, Gunna, and YTB Trench in the “Paid The Fine” video, an effort that captured the aftermath of the rappers’ good deed of freeing 30 inmates from Georgia’s Fulton County jail.

What Streaming Service Offers The Best Options This Weekend?

The streaming services really can’t rest for a moment without bringing us more content than anyone could ever hope to digest (and still sleep). The sheer number of offerings is dizzying, as is the sheer number of services, so we’re here to tell you where your dollar goes furthest. We’ve still got no idea how Netflix keeps so much quantity coming, but as always, we will weigh quality as an important factor. Fortunately for Netflix, they’ve got both criteria going this week, including a stunning new anime series (starring LaKeith Stanfield and scored by Flying Lotus) that you really should put in your queue. For that reason (along with the quantity factor), the streaming mainstay ties for first place with another long-running streamer. Amazon Prime doesn’t have the same quantity going, but it does serve up the season finale of a beloved animated series.

Yep, adult-oriented animation is hot this week, and on the superhero front, Disney+ is still going strong with a behind-the-scenes followup for the Falcon and the Winter Soldier and a new Soul-focused short while Hulu brings us the latest installment of Elisabeth Moss’ dramatic return to Gilead. Don’t count out HBO Max, however, which has several selections from the past week, and Peacock’s still doling out Michael Schur’s newest show. Oh, and Apple TV+ debuts Justin Theroux’s labor of love, The Mosquito Coast remake. In other words, there is no way you will ever be bored at home this weekend.

Netflix

Netflix

Yasuke (Netflix series) — Netflix will up its anime game with this dazzling series from Japanese animation studio MAPPA (Attack on Titan: The Final Season), and the project arrives with quite a pedigree, given that LaKeith Stanfield executive produces on lead voice work. Stanfield voices a character who’s based upon the real-life first African samurai, who struggles to shed his past life of violence while striving to keep a peaceful existence. However, he must reluctantly pick up his sword again when a war-torn, feudal Japanese village becomes ground central for warring daimyo. The score will arrive courtesy of Flying Lotus, who also produces, and creator/director/producer LeSean Thomas will build upon his proven track record (The Boondocks, Cannon Buster, and Black Dynamite) of interweaving anime and Black culture.

Things Heard & Seen (Netflix film) — Amanda Seyfried stars as a couple that realizes that a sinister darkness plagues their marriage and fits right in with their new home’s past. The story’s based upon Elizabeth Brundage’s novel, and it takes place in the Hudson Valley. Seyfried’s better at the spooky-eyed look than most of her contemporaries, and her displaced Manhattanite character benefits from that vibe.

Headspace Guide to Sleep (Netflix series) — Most of us could use more sleep, no matter how much we currently get and especially during all of the ongoing pandemic stress. This series is a joint project between Headspace and Vox Media Studios, and it aims to help you lay the foundation for more healthy habits. Subjects explore will include insomnia, stress, our phones, and sleeping pills, and stick around for a guided meditation to help get you on the road to more blissful nights.

Fatma (Netflix film) — So, an ordinary-seeming cleaning lady goes searching for her missing husband and inadvertently ends up murdering someone. Subsequently, she becomes a killer while no one is the wiser. Yessir, it’s always the quiet ones.

The Disciple (Netflix film) — This story about an Indian classical music vocalist is a study in devotion and the importance of following one’s own way, and how, sometimes, a disciple knows much better about what will make him happy than his gurus and family do. Turning inward ain’t easy (following directions is easier in some ways), in other words, but it’s often worth the process.

Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime

Invincible (Amazon Prime series) — It’s season finale time, and god only knows what will go down with What Omni-Man Did. This animated romp pleases both fans of The Boys and The Walking Dead, and the latter reference has everything to do with the source material by Robert Kirkman. Invincible is an ultraviolent deconstruction of the superhero, and yes, we’ve seen plenty of dismantling already, but this story has heart. Stephen Yeun makes a fantastic leading man here, and the cast (J.K. Simmons, Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Zazie Beetz, Zachary Quinto, Mark Hamill, and several TWD names) is ridiculously good.

Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse (Amazon Prime film) — Michael B. Jordon stars as an elite Navy SEAL who’s seeking justice after the murder of his pregnant wife. In the process, he (naturally) stumbles upon an international conspiracy. It’s the origin story of one of the most beloved Clancy characters in his entire Jack Ryan universe.

Disney+

Disney+

Assembled: The Making of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (Disney+ special) — WandaVision received its own Assembled treatment, and so will Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes with all of their series’ high-flying ways. Last week’s season finale answered the whole Power Broker thing and finally gave Sam Wilson his day, but there are still plenty of questions left to be answered. Hopefully, we’ll get at a clue or two here while waiting for more details on Captain America 4 or a possible second season.

22 vs. Earth (Pixar short on Disney+) — This Soul-supplemental short (and prequel) focuses on soul 22 and exactly why she’s hell bent upon not going to Earth. We’ll see her enlist her own rebellious gang of souls, although her goals might be thwarted by a surprising revelation.

Big Shot (Disney+ series) — David E. Kelley co-created and executive produces this series starring John Stamos as a down-on-his luck, ousted NCAA coach who’s attempting to get back on his (angry) feet with a ritzy private high-school gig. While reluctantly seeking redemption, Coach learns that his new team benefits from him showing some actual emotion beyond rage and stoicism, so he must — gasp — learn how to be vulnerable and empathetic. He might actually become a better person, too.

Earth Moods (Nat Geo series on Disney+) — This five-part series serves up us various “moods” from the corners of the globe to soothe us with the natural world. Each one (from glaciers to deserts to rain forests to cities) will take us on voyage to help our minds reset. Sounds fantastic.

Hulu

Via Hulu

The Handmaid’s Tale: Season 4 (Hulu series) — Elisabeth Moss has so much going on these days, but she’s going back again to fight for freedom against the totalitarian government of Gilead. This season, she’ll lead the rebellion while fighting for justice and revenge, but perhaps the biggest threat she’ll face is staying true to herself and the relationships that she values most. Moss and the show keep on racking up Emmys, and she’s back with more with Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Alexis Bledel, O-T Fagbenle, Bradley Whitford, and Max Minghella. Expect the show to get nomadic this season, leaving the Boston area and officially abandoning home base, which must have presented quite the challenge while filming during a pandemic (as if the show wasn’t socially relevant enough already).

Sasquatch (Hulu series) — So officially, this is a documentary series, although the Duplass Brothers are behind the project, so you gotta know that the approach will unusual. The series promises to dig into a gruesome triple homicide that was allegedly carried out by Bigfoot back in the 1990s. Somehow, there’s a bunch of cannabis involved, and that could directly be tied to the murders? Investigative journalist David Holthouse promises to tell the craziest story that he’s ever heard, and he does it.

Apple TV+

Amazon Prime

The Mosquito Coast (Apple TV+ series) — Justin Theroux’s headlining this series adaptation of Paul Theroux (yes, Paul is Justin’s actual uncle) novel previously brought to life in the mid-1980s with Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, and River Phoenix. Fast forward thirty freaking years, and there’s a sweeping version coming your way with all of the Apple TV+-style visuals that they tend to drop into their most “epic” productions. The series itself doesn’t match up to the book or film’s tackling of consumerism as much as it wants to be like Breaking Bad (yet forgot the most important ingredient). Also, Justin Theroux’s character, Allie Fox, is an eccentric, overbearing, and eventually psychotic patriarch who drags his family to Mexico, so get ready for plenty of tense moments.

The Oprah Conversation (Apple TV+ series) — Elliot Page will sit down for an in-depth interview with Oprah to discuss all manner of issues following his moving social message that he’s transgender. Hopefully, we’ll get a little Umbrella Academy talk (the nerds will dig it), but one can expect LGBTQ+ issues to stand front and center (including Elliot’s partnership with the Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice) in this conversation. Elliot also recently made his directorial debut with There’s Something In The Water, a documentary that tackles environmental racism.

HBO Max

Warner Bros/HBO Max

Looney Tunes Cartoons, Season 1D (HBO Max series) — This new batch of episodes couldn’t come soon enough. Tune in for Bugs to evade someone besides Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam while Daffy can’t cope with a photocopier, and Elmer Fudd’s looking for some legal advice. All in all, you’ll be able to stream 10 new shorts, and you’ll probably be left wanting more.

Lucy the Human Chimp (HBO Max film) — This ain’t the movie starring Scarlett Johansson. Instead, get ready for a more substantial film (a documentary) about Lucy Termerlin, the infamous chimpanzee who believed she was human because she was pretty much raised that way.

The Big Shot with Bethenny (HBO Max series) — Bethenny Frankel (the Skinnygirl founder) does her business-mogul thing here while allowing a gathering of hopefuls to compete for a chance to be her right-hand woman. Watch out though, because the competition will be fierce, and Frankel promises to be demanding and perfectionistic while pushing candidates through real-life challenges aimed at how they can best show off their creativity and determination.

Mortal Kombat (Warner Bros. film on HBO Max) — We’ve got another blockbuster-type movie in our living rooms this weekend, and this incarnation promises to be R-rated to the max with plenty of carnage in tune with the video game. Among other qualifications to that point, James Wan produced, so that makes sense! In all seriousness, this is a more serious treatment than the 1990s film, and we’ll get to see Sub-Zero hunting down MMA fighter Cole Young, and someone will end up being the loser of the “finish him” concept. HBO Max released the first seven minutes of the film ahead of time, if you’d like to get a taste of the bloodshed coming to your TV screen.

Mare Of Easttown (HBO series streaming on HBO Max) — Kate Winslet returns not only to TV but to HBO (a decade after her award-winning Mildred Pierce turn) to star as a hard-vaping detective in a small town where she both portrays and elevates the “complicated” cop trope. She’s captivating while digging into a murder mystery that has rocked her small town and caused the community to feel utterly claustrophobic. This show will suck you in, and you won’t mind one bit.

The Nevers (HBO series streaming on HBO Max) — This Joss Whedon-created show offers an intriguing setup about a group of “orphans” (almost exclusively women) who find themselves “gifted” with supernaturally-powered abilities. Although there’s far too many plot lines (and some plot holes), there’s also a fair amount of butt-kicking, and the atmosphere is killer. The embattled Buffy and Firefly creator officially exited the series last year, but you won’t be able to forget his presence.

Peacock

Peacock

Rutherford Falls (Peacock series) — The newest Michael Schur sitcom is doing the streaming thing, and this show is flat-out putting its location in the title, in lockstep with the co-creator’s fixation with location. Can Rutherford Falls match up with Scranton and Pawnee, in the long run? That remains to be seen, but Ed Helms stars as Nathan Rutherford, who is (obviously, due to the last name) inextricably tied to the town’s history, and Nathan’s not taking too kindly to a movement to eject a historical statue. There’s more to that topic than one would assume, and the wrangling of Nathan seems down to his lifelong best pal, portrayed by Jana Schmieding. This looks about as refreshingly and delightfully offbeat as one would expect from The Good Place creator because everything he touches is magic.

Lil Uzi Vert Supports Bebe Rexha’s Declaration To Never ‘Die For A Man’ On Their Collab

For the last few months, Lil Uzi Vert has promised his next album is “coming soon.” If it arrived prior to today it would’ve been the rapper’s fourth full-length effort in about a year, joining projects like Eternal Atake and Pluto X Baby Pluto. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like that project will arrive in the near future, but in the meantime, fans can enjoy the Philly rapper’s latest guest verse which finds him rocking beside Bebe Rexha on “Die For A Man.” The track, which is set to appear on Rexha’s upcoming Better Mistakes album, sees her declaring that she’ll never die, change, or cry for a man. Uzi appears later on to echo similar sentiments in regards to the women who appear in his life.

Rexha’s Better Mistakes album will arrive on May 7 with additional help from Rick Ross, Ty Dolla Sign, Pink Sweats, Travis Barker, and more. Moving back to Lil Uzi, the rapper is also set to appear on Blink-182’s upcoming album. Until that arrives, the wait for his next body of work continues and it should be noted that Uzi and Grimes claimed to be in the studio “making hits” together, tracks that could very well appear on his new project.

Hit play on the video above to hear Uzi and Rexha’s new song.

The Kid Laroi Brings Miley Cyrus Onboard For A Heartwrenching Remix Of ‘Without You’

After a lengthy list of delays that pushed the album back nearly 12 months, Miley Cyrus finally released her seventh album, Plastic Hearts to conclude 2020. Its release brought forth a number of performances from the singer, but any signs of new music that fans may have hoped for did not arrive until now. Cyrus joined The Kid Laroi for a remix of the 17-year-old’s track, “Without You.” The song lives on Laroi’s 2020 album Savage Love and details the aftermath of a broken love and how the pain of separation cuts so deeper than they might have expected. Miley’s addition also provides a back-and-forth conversation to help Laroi bring the songs’ theme to life.

For listeners who enjoy the song, it also comes with a video that finds the duo consoling each other through their respective heartbreaks. In addition to that, they’ll be able to watch the duo perform it on an upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live. Cyrus was revealed as the musical guest for the show and shortly after she revealed her set would also feature the young Australian singer. “Live from New York with little bro,” she wrote in a post to Twitter that featured an image of the duo.

The song arrives after she covered Queen, Stevie Nicks, and Blondie during her NCAA Men’s Final Four set. She also celebrated the 15th anniversary of Hannah Montana with a lengthy letter to fans and flowers which she sent to Migos for their 2013 track of the same title.

You can listen to the remix in the video above.

Yung Baby Tate Is A Picky Woman When It Comes To Choosing Men On ‘Eenie Meanie’

Yung Baby Tate is just as fun and high-spirited as she is talented. The latter was proven on her late 2020 EP After The Rain, which presented guest appearances from Flo Milli and 6lack. If that wasn’t enough proof of her extremely versatile skills, the videos that followed the EP brought out more of her colorful palette, and now, Tate continues her hot streak with her latest single, “Eeenie Meanie.” The new track presents the Decatur native fresh out of a relationship and in search of some new companions who fit her requirements for an ideal partner — whether it be exclusive or not.

The new song also comes with good news for fans of Tate. She plans on releasing a deluxe edition of After The Rain “very soon.” During an appearance on Fox Soul’s The Mix, Tate shared the news and promised “five or six” songs would be added to the project.

Tate’s new single comes after she dropped a color video for “I Am” with Flo Milli. She later sat down with Uproxx to share that Beyonce’s “Black Is King” was a big inspiration behind the visual.

Travis Scott Joins Baby Keem For Some ‘Durag Activity’ On Their Clouded Banger

It’s safe to say that Baby Keem has crawled out of the quiet cave that was his 2020 year. Aside from being a part of the 2020 XXL Freshman list, which served as a huge moment for him and resulted in a new freestyle, Keem kept things low last year until its final moments when he returned with a pair of singles that sparked a string of releases bringing fans to his latest effort, “Durag Activity” with Travis Scott. The clouded banger sees Keem leading the way with near-mumble raps as he details the things that make up “durag activity.” After a couple of verses, he opens the door for Scott to arrive with his trademark autotune croons for a solid verse.

The new track is also paired with a video that depicts Keem as a mob boss of sorts who gets into trouble with Scott after laying hands on an enemy. The song will hopefully lead to the arrival of Keem’s third album, which remains untitled at the moment. It’ll be his first full-length effort since 2019’s Die For My B*tch, a project that helped boost the Las Vegas native into the spotlight thanks to “Orange Soda,” which grew to be the rapper’s most successful single to date. On a more recent note, the single arrives after his “No Sense” effort, one that dropped with a video that captures Keem going stir crazy. That song was the follow-up to his late 2020 releases, “Hooligan” and “Sons & Critics Freestyle.”

As for Travis, the Houston native was recently awarded for his philanthropic efforts towards HBCU students. He’s also set to headline Rolling Loud’s Miami festival with ASAP Rocky and Post Malone.

You can press play on “Durag Activity” above.

DJ Khaled Brings Jay-Z, Nas — And Yes, Beyonce — Together In A Lavish Video For ‘Sorry Not Sorry’

It’s been no surprise that DJ Khaled’s eventful rollout for his 12th album, Khaled Khaled, has been a completely on-brand experience from him. From lengthy social media posts in all-caps to a massive billboard that revealed the album’s release date, Khaled is pulling out all the stops for his new project and the music on it seems to fit the theatrics as well.

One of the first songs to catch people’s attention was “Sorry Not Sorry,” as it sees formal rivals, Jay-Z and Nas, working together alongside James Fauntleroy and Harmonies By The Hive — which many guessed, and correctly so, to be Beyonce.

The track is one that Khaled looks to push fresh off the release of Khaled Khaled as it arrives alongside a lavish video. Jay, Nas, and Khaled himself bring their talents to a casino to lay off luxury verses broken up by a soothing hook from Fauntleroy. Nas and Jay-Z sit with Khaled at a casino table while smoking cigars and most likely placing bets that surpass any amount of money I’ve seen in my life.

Khaled Khaled as a whole is a 14-track effort that sees appearances from Drake, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, HER, Big Sean, Rick Ross, Bryson Tiller, and many more. The project originally featured only 13 tracks but Cardi sent in last-minute vocals for her track, “Big Paper.” Khaled Khaled is also Khaled’s first full-length album since 2019’s Father Of Ashad.

Check out the “Sorry Not Sorry” video with Jay and Nas above.

These Smooth Añejo Tequilas Are Perfect For Vanilla Lovers

The idea of drinking tequila straight is a touchy subject for some American drinkers. They have… whatever college-aged stigmas they have about shooting the cheaper incarnations of this agave-based spirit. Frankly, we’re not going to dignify those haters with a response. There are myriad high-quality, deeply-memorable tequilas perfect for slow sipping on the market. Any alcohol aficionado could tell you that.

If you actually take the time to taste good tequila, you’ll notice a number of common flavor profiles, including agave-driven sweetness, a muted sense of vegetal grassiness, charred wood, rich caramel, and toasted vanilla. The last flavor note is where we’re turning our attention today. Like all aged spirits, tequila gains most of its rich flavor — besides the initial agave flavors — from the maturation process. The longer it spends in a barrel (and the more the cell walls of the wood break down), the more pronounced the flavors of oak, caramel, and vanilla become.

Below you’ll find eight añejo (literally “vintage”) tequilas that are absolute vanilla bombs. Click their prices if you want to pick one up for yourself.

Casa Noble Añejo

Casa Noble

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $56.99

The Story:

This triple distilled, sustainably created, 100% Blue Weber agave tequila is well-known for the little bit extra work that goes into it. Instead of simply spending a year maturing in new French oak barrels, this añejo spends a full two years aging. The result is a complex, flavorful tequila just as well suited for sipping neat as it is in your favorite cocktail.

Tasting Notes:

On the nose, you’ll be greeted with aromas of sweet, smoky agave, caramel, and vanilla beans. Taking a sip opens up the flavors of toffee candy, vegetal sweetness, brown sugar, and sweet cream. The finish is long, warming, and ends with a nice balance of wood char and raisins.

Bottom Line:

The extra year aging really adds to the overall vanilla flavor of this exceptional tequila. While it works well in cocktails, we prefer to drink it neat or on the rocks.

El Tesoro Añejo

El Tesoro

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $56.99

The Story:

This award-winning, 100% Blue Weber agave añejo tequila is a little different than many of the others on the market. That’s because, not only does El Tesoro age this expression for two to three years, it’s matured in ex-bourbon casks. The result is a rich, bold, truly unique flavor experience.

Tasting Notes:

Take a moment to breathe in the aromas of wildflowers, sweet agave, charred oak, and caramel. The palate swirls with subtle cracked black pepper, toasted vanilla beans, dried fruits, and more ripe agave. It all ends with a final flourish of sweet vanilla and toffee.

Bottom Line:

This is a perfect añejo tequila for bourbon fans who want an easy entrance into the world of tequila. Wade into the añejo with a glass of this vanilla and caramel bomb. You’ll be happy you did.

Herradura Añejo

Herradura

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $51

The Story:

According to legend (and verifiable historical documentation), Herradura was the first distillery to ever make añejo tequila. This was in 1962 and in the years since, they’ve perfected it. Aged in White American Oak casks for a full 25 months, this expression is mellow, nuanced, and filled with ripe fruit and vanilla flavors.

Tasting Notes:

Before sipping, take a moment to fill your nostrils with the scents of cooked agave, charred wood, butterscotch, and subtle pepper. Take a sip and be transported to a world of raisins, cinnamon, wood char, sweet agave, and vanilla beans. The finish is warming, sweet, and incredibly memorable.

Bottom Line:

If you’re new to añejo tequila, you have to grab a bottle of Herradura. Why not start at the beginning, right?

Casamigos Añejo

Casamigos

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $60

The Story:

When Casamigos first hit the market, it seemed like yet another celebrity-driven brand. But it’s so much more than just “George Clooney’s tequila.” Made from 100% Blue Weber agave its añejo is distilled using purified water from the onsite well before being aged for 14 months in American White Oak casks.

Tasting Notes:

On the nose, you’ll find aromas of charred wood, caramel candy, pepper, and a nice floral backbone. Take a sip and find yourself immersed in flavors like buttery vanilla, spicy cracked black pepper, vegetal sweetness, and toffee. It all ends with a combination of buttercream frosting, herbs, and subtle spices.

Bottom Line:

This tequila might be younger than some of the other añejos. But what it lacks in age, it makes up for with a full, rich flavor profile.

Gran Centenario Añejo

Gran Centenario

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $35

The Story:

Gran Centenario was created in 1857 by a former tavern owner named Lázaro Gallardo. Many believe that he’s the first tequila master distiller in history. Carrying on his tradition, Gran Centenario’s contemporary Añejo is made from 100% Blue Weber agave before being aged in new American oak casks.

Tasting Notes:

Give this tequila a patient nosing and you’ll find scents of cocoa powder, vanilla, charred oak, and a pleasant nutty sweetness. On the palate, you’ll find cooked agave, subtle cracked black pepper, brown sugar, and vanilla beans. The finish is mellow, soft, and ends with a nice kick of buttery caramel.

Bottom Line:

This historical brand is surprisingly cheap. It actually might be the best tequila on this list if what you value most is flavor to price ratio.

Cincoro Añejo

Cincoro

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $131

The Story:

Cincoro is another celebrity brand and that might turn off some people. But this brand, founded by Michael Jordan and various other celebrities in the sports world, is much more than just glamour. This 100% Blue Weber agave is a great example. This double-distilled tequila was aged between 24 and 28 months in barrels that formerly held American whisky.

Tasting Notes:

On the nose, you’ll find milk chocolate, baked agave, subtle pepper, and vanilla beans. Drinking this tequila opens up flavors of fresh-cut grass, dried orange peels, buttercream, and subtle wood char. The ending is sweet, warming, and finishes with a final flourish of toffee candy.

Bottom Line:

Don’t be wary of the celebrities behind this brand. It’s a great tequila for fans of vanilla, regardless of whether or not his Royal Airness is behind it.

Código 1530 Añejo

Código

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $119

The Story:

Produced in the town of Amatitán in the tequila-producing state of Jalisco, Código 1530 Añejo is made from 100% Blue Weber agaves that were allowed to grow for seven years. While other brands aged their tequilas in White American Oak and even ex-bourbon barrels, Código 1530 Añejo gets its flavor from maturing in cabernet sauvignon French white oak barrels from Napa, California for 18 months.

Tasting Notes:

On the nose, you’ll find aromas of spicy pepper, dried fruits, and clover honey. The palate is filled with notes of sour cherries, buttery toffee, caramel apples, subtle pepper, and vanilla beans. The finish is long, mellow, and easy to drink with notes of vanilla and caramel.

Bottom Line:

While this tequila carries a similar flavor profile to many of the other tequilas on this list, the addition of French oak gives it a fruitier, more vanilla-filled flavor than most añejos.

Patrón Añejo

Patrón

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $60

The Story:

When it comes to big names in the tequila world, it’s hard to beat Patrón. But don’t shy away from this Goliath brand. You’ll be missing out on a great expression. Made using the traditional Tahona method — where the agaves are crushed using a massive stone — this expression is aged in smaller than normal white oak casks for 12-15 months.

Tasting Notes:

Take a moment to breathe in the scents of dried fruits, orange peels, charred wood, and vanilla beans. On the palate, you’ll find flavors of raisins, vegetal sweetness, manuka honey, and creamy vanilla. It all ends with a nice combination of toffee candy and subtle spice.

Bottom Line:

Don’t be turned off by the big name. This tequila has everything a vanilla fan could want. It’s mellow, bursting with flavor, and easy to sip.

Rudy Giuliani Joined Tucker Carlson On Fox News To Get Mad That FBI Agents Didn’t Seize Enough Of His Stuff

Rudy Giuliani was raided by the FBI earlier this week, and on Thursday night he was interviewed on Fox News and essentially wondered why agents didn’t take more of his stuff. The bizarre segment on Tucker Carlson’s show is the latest attempt to spin the investigation into Donald Trump’s former personal attorney as a vast conspiracy against anyone who is not Joe Biden.

The raid, which took several electronic devices from Giuliani’s home, was reportedly part of an investigation into business dealings in Ukraine that ultimately led to Trump’s first impeachment. But Carlson and Giuliani did their best on Thursday to make this part of the Hunter Biden conspiracy that Trump pursued to his detriment in the phone call that got Trump impeached.

Carlson started the segment by reminding viewers that three Trump lawyers have been raided by the FBI, framing it as a conspiracy against the former president. But getting a search warrant from a judge isn’t exactly easy and requires strong suspicion that a crime has been committed. Regardless, the interview Giuliani gives details what happened, which is that several FBI agents conducted an early-morning raid where his electronics were taken.

Giuliani repeated a claim in the interview that he had used earlier in the week, that he had “Hunter Biden’s hard drives” and lamented that the agents didn’t want to take them. He also bizarrely disparaged his own credibility in a number of ways.

“They also were completely content to rely on my word that these were Hunter Biden’s hard drives,” Giuliani said. “I mean, they could have been Donald Trump’s. They could have been Vladimir Putin’s. They could have been anybody’s. But they relied on me, the man that had to be raided in the morning.”

It’s a bizarre interview to say the least, with Giuliani somehow claiming agents were biased in their search, admitting at times that he could have destroyed evidence and fumbling over his words.

“It’s like projections, they’re the ones committing the crimes,” Giuliani said before trailing off and waiting for Carlson to ask more questions.

The rest of the interview has some truly wild accusations in it, both against Hunter and Joe Biden and the legal system in general. But if your best defense after the FBI raids you is ‘they didn’t take enough of my stuff’ that’s probably not the best legal standing to start from.

Kevin Porter Jr. Became The Youngest Player In NBA History To Notch 50 Points And 10 Assists

It’s been an up and down season for Kevin Porter Jr., who was dealt from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Houston Rockets in January. Porter Jr. began to rebuild his value with an impressive showing in the G League bubble, but on Wednesday, the NBA also announced that he was fined $50,000 for violating the league’s health and safety protocols. However, Porter Jr. flashed his considerable upside on the floor Thursday, putting together a history-making performance in a 143-136 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Porter Jr., who entered the night averaging 15.2 points and 6.2 assists per game in 22 appearances for the Rockets, started hot on Thursday. He produced 18 points and seven assists in 19 first-half minutes and, if that was the most impressive thing about his showing, it would have been quite a notable performance. The former USC standout wasn’t close to done, though, as Porter Jr. absolutely exploded in the second half, scoring 32 points on 10-of-16 shooting and 6-of-9 from three-point range.

By the end of the night, he had 50 points (on 16-of-26 shooting with 9-of-15 from three and 9-of-11 from the free throw line) and he added 11 assists for good measure.

Talent has never been the question for Porter Jr., who has the entire package of creation skills that any team would be in search of in the modern game. Beyond that, he is just 20 years old and, with this performance, Porter Jr. set a new standard as the youngest player in league history to reach 50 points and 10 assists in a single game.

Porter Jr.’s explosion should come with the caveats of an offense-first league environment, a Bucks team that lost Giannis Antetokounmpo for the night after less than one minute, and a late-April point on the calendar that lends itself to weirdness. At the same time, nothing about his overall skill package screams “fluke” in this instance, and this kind of individual showing can’t be overlooked.
