Is Yung Miami from City Girls dating Puff Daddy? That certainly seems to be the implication of the photo the Florida-born-and-bred rapper just posted to Instagram. It’s definitely caught the attention of fans who were shocked to see Miami — who was previously romantically linked to Atlanta, Georgia trap producer Southside — holding hands at Pierre “P” Thomas’s birthday party with none other than Sean “Love” Combs himself. Miami is decked out in an elegant mahogany dress while Diddy rocks one of his signature white suits, clutching her hand as they descend a staircase (scroll through the slides below).
Naturally, many were flustered to spot the new apparent couple, especially after Diddy posted a throwback photo apparently reminiscing about his ex Jennifer Lopez just last week. “Caresha,” Yung Miami’s real name, trended on Twitter as City Girls fans — who are fond of addressing their fave by her government name — expressed surprise, shock, and amusement at the thought of a possible retaliatory post from Southside. Meanwhile, Caresha’s partner-in-rhyme JT (who’s been linked to fellow rapper Lil Uzi Vert) seemed to approve of the union, commenting “expensive!” on the photo with a string of fire emojis.
Some fans also approved while others doubted that the photo meant anything deeper. Either way, it’s looking like a City Girl summer after all, as their new single “Twerkulator” climbs the charts, and fans remain fascinated by their romantic entanglements.
The BTS Meal at McDonald’s, named after the record-breaking Korean group, consists of a 10 Chicken McNuggets, medium fries, a Coke, and two dipping sauces, sweet chili and cajun. Like the group itself, it’s wildly popular, so much so that a single McNugget from the BTS Meal that resembles one of the crewmates from murder mystery party game Among Us is selling for nearly $100,000 on eBay. It’s the perfect intersection of music, gaming, food, and spending a comical amount of money on a novelty item.
But the McNugget didn’t always cost $99,897.00. It was originally listed for $0.99 before going viral due to its “unmistakable correlation with the actual character, even including an odd bump on the back that would represent the backpack,” eBay seller polizna told CNET. The BTS connection doesn’t hurt either. If you want to become the 184th bidder (!) on the nugget, you better do so quickly: the auction ends in 11 hours, as of publishing.
“I had figured it would get somewhere around $50 but nothing like this,” polizna said. “There are some people out there who *would* pay some absurd price for a McDonald’s chicken nugget, but I don’t think the final bidder will actually go through with the purchase as there are lots of people who bid on things like this for the ‘memes.’”
If you’re a fan of comics, games, movies, animation, sci-fi, fantasy, monsters, ninjas, and/or giant mechs, boy do we have fantastic news for you. Starting June 7, Netflix is hosting its first-ever “Geeked Week,” a week-long celebration of geek culture and fandom in which Netflix will be providing fans with exclusive first looks at upcoming Netflix series, interviews, and merch. Since this is the event’s first year, we wanted to provide you with a bit of information about Netflix Geeked, just what Geeked Week will entail, and, of course, how you can watch it. (Also, here’s more if you’re interested in following all of this summer’s numerous geek-y expos, conferences, and festivals.)
What is Netflix Geeked?
For those unfamiliar with Netflix Geeked, it is a Twitter account you definitely should be following if you’re someone who considers yourself a part of any fandom (think Marvel, Star Wars, video games, anime, zombies… the list is nearly infinite). The account shares trailers, updates, and some pretty funny posts about all of Netflix “geeky” series and films, such as The Witcher, Castlevania, Stanger Things, Lucifer, and Army of the Dead. It’s honestly a great way to stay up to date on all your favorite series, as well as find the new ones that all your friends are talking about.
Netflix Geeked Week is a free online event running from Monday, June 7 to Friday, June 11. Each day of the week, the party starts live at 9am PST, and runs nearly all day until the stream repeats itself at 6pm PST. According to the official Netflix Geeked Week website, the event “promises lots of excitement about our Netflix genre slate, including major announcements, exclusive teaser and trailer premieres, first looks, BTS footage, cast interviews, celebrity games, script table reads, live performances and much more. Each Geeked Week day will be broadly themed to different genres: film, comic books, fantasy, anime/animation and gaming.”
So what should I expect to see during Geeked Week?
First and foremost, some pretty decent hosts and guest stars. Rahul Kohli and Mari Takahashi are hosting the festivities with special guest hosts popping in throughout the week — guests like Trisha Hershberger, Erika Ishii, Geoff Keighley, Yuri Lowenthal, and Kiera Please. Since each day is designated to a certain genre, let’s break it down that way.
As far as films go, Gunpowder Milkshake, The Fear Street Trilogy, and Kate will all be making an appearance. There’s also a ton of Netflix original films coming this year that fit the “geeky” bill, meaning we could see Awake, America: The Motion Picture, Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans, The Last Mercenary, and — if young adult romances are included — The Kissing Booth 3 and He’s All That.
When it comes to comics, expect to see a lot of news. First and foremost, we’re for sure going to hear more about The Sandman, Umbrella Academy,Lucifer, and Sweet Tooth, the later of which is coming this weekend. We’re also most likely going to hear more about Netflix’s delve into the “Millarverse,” or the collected works of comic book legend Mark Millar including Super Crooks, America Jesus, and The Magic Order. The second season of Locke and Key is also set to come out this year, making it a likely candidate for a trailer.
In anime/animation, we can expect to see Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Castlevania (perhaps a spin-off announcement?), Cowboy Bebop, and Godzilla: Singular Point. In addition, we are anticipating more news on TRESE, Beaststars, Baki Hanma,Hilda, Spriggan, Disenchantment, and Vampire in the Garden, all of which are coming in 2021. Fingers crossed we also get some news on some of Netflix’s biggest animated series confirmed for new seasons but still without release dates, such as The Midnight Gospel, Blood of Zeus, and Aggretsuko.
Based on the above divisions, the fantasy lineup seems like it’s going to encompass a lot — including things we might not think of as fantasy. In fact, it might be more realistic to think of this category as fiction, as shows like Cobra Kai and La Casa de Papel (Money Heist) have no real place in the above sections but have already been confirmed for Geeked Week. In addition, we are for sure seeing more on Vikings: Valhalla, and will likely be updated on the status of shows like Warrior Nun, Cursed and Shadow and Bone.
And lastly, the confirmed properties for gaming include The Witcher, The Cuphead Show, Riot Studio’s League of Legends-based show Arcane, and Resident Evil. However, we know Netflix has more up their sleeves and we’ll be seeing more than a mere Witcher season 2 trailer. As of right now, Netflix has series and films based on Mega Man, Beyond Good and Evil, Splinter Cell, Tomb Raider, Assassin’s Creed, DOTA, Devil May Cry, The Division, Sonic the Hedgehog, Final Fantasy, and Cyberpunk 2077 all in the works. While we’re definitely not expecting to see all of these make an appearance, we’d put at least a couple on your bingo card. It’s also worth noting the games day is partnering with Summer Game Fest, meaning we might hear some unexpectedly big announcements.
Okay, I’m in. How do I watch it?
Geeked Week will be streaming basically everywhere. You can tune into Geeked Week on Netflix’s YouTube, Twitter, Twitch, Facebook and TikTok accounts. In addition, Netflix is allowing streams to co-stream the event, meaning you can probably catch your favorite geeky Twitch streamers commentating. Netflix is encouraging folks to follow the accounts now for updates and reminders.
To commemorate Thor: Love and Thunder wrapping production, Chris Hemsworth shared a photo to Instagram where the Thor actor shared his most ridiculously jacked photo yet. The God of Thunder’s arms look massive, and Hemsworth’s intense muscles got the eye of wrestling superstar who tweeted out his approval of the Australian actor who’s set to play him in an upcoming biopic.
“My brother has that Hogan Pump on, Jack,” Hogan tweeted with a photo of the ripped Hemsworth. “Looks like he could slam Andre, brother.”
My brother has that Hogan Pump on Jack, looks like he could slam Andre brother HH pic.twitter.com/VEscB93crm
Hemsworth’s latest ripped look is easily the most swole the actor has ever been, but don’t believe he us. Hemsworth’s body double revealed back in February that the Thor actor has been getting so huge, he can barely keep up with him. But here’s the crazy part: During an interview last summer, Hemsworth boasted that he’s so seriously committed to the Hogan biopic that he already has a fitness plan to get even bigger than he’s ever been for Marvel.
“This movie is going to be a really fun project,” Hemsworth told Total Film. “As you can imagine, the preparation for the role will be insanely physical. I will have to put on more size than I ever have before, even more than I put on for Thor.”
So the question is: Are we already witnessing Hemsworth at the peak of his ripped transformation, or is he somehow going to get even more jacked to play Hogan?
Vodka is an interesting spirit. It’s not matured like whiskey and carries the undeserved perception that every bottle tastes exactly the same. This couldn’t be further from the truth. While it’s true that somevodka features a clean, dry, almost ethanol flavor that’s best suited to use as a mixer and some are downright harsh, hot, and seemingly flavorless, high-level vodkas often feature bready, sweet, malty, or even subtly citrusy notes.
This clear, unaged distilled spirit is made by distilling corn, rye, wheat, potatoes, various fruits, or even honey. Most often enjoyed neat or in a mixed drink like a Moscow mule, martini, or vodka soda, vodka is also surprisingly versatile. If you’re looking to let secondary ingredients take the lead on a drink, it’s a cocktail maker’s dream. An it only gets more mixable when you flavor it.
Of course, as with all flavored spirits, there are quite a few cloyingly sweet duds on the market. Expressions that taste more like sugary, chemically-produced swill than actual vodka. But as the spirits business has boomed, so has the craft. These days, many brands actually do manage to produce nuanced, high-quality flavored vodkas. Check out some of our favorites below.

Breckenridge, Colorado is an outdoors fan’s dream. Skiing, snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking, it has it all. The area is also home to a renowned brewery and Breckenridge Distillery. While the distillery is well known for its bourbon, you definitely shouldn’t sleep on its flavored vodka. Especially its pear vodka. This pear brandy-based vodka is sweet, fruity, and well-suited for mixing into your favorite vodka-based cocktails.
Tasting Notes:
Right away, you’ll be struck by the aromas of Palisade pears, slight ethanol, and overall pleasant fruitiness. The flavor is like biting into a juicy, ripe pear, thanks to real pears being used in the distilling process. There’s no chemical, fake pear flavoring in this stuff. The finish is sweet, warming, and lingers for just the right length.
Bottom Line:
Pear isn’t a flavor we usually associated with vodka, but maybe we should. The ripe, juicy notes work well as an alternative to usually citrus-fueled vodka tonics. – Christopher Osburn
No flavored vodka list is complete without Absolut Citron. Launched way back in 1988, Absolut Citron quickly became the best-selling flavor from the iconic Swedish brand. All these years later, it still is. Known for its subtle, citrus zest flavor, this renowned vodka is a great base for vodka martinis and Moscow Mules.
Tasting Notes:
Taking a simple sniff of this vodka will reveal aromatic notes of Meyer lemons, lime zest, and just a hint of sweet, winter wheat. The flavor is more of the same, with lemon being at the forefront. But while this is a citrus-centric vodka, it’s not overwhelming and still has a clean, dry finish.
Bottom Line:
While we mentioned its prowess in the above cocktails, Absolut Citron is most often linked to lime juice, Cointreau, and cranberry juice for a vodka-based cosmopolitan. – Christopher Osburn
Hangar 1 has made a name for itself in the vodka world over the past decade. While you’ll be totally happy grabbing a bottle of its flagship vodka, if you really want to ramp up your spring drinking, you’ll purchase a bottle of its Hangar 1 Rosé Vodka. Since sometimes we can’t decide between a glass of rosé and a vodka cocktail, we like to keep a bottle of this mixture of Hangar 1 Vodka and California rosé wine on hand at all times.
Tasting Notes:
For a rosé vodka, it’s surprising floral in the aroma department. There are also notes of fresh fruits and berries. The palate is swirling with ripe berries, grape-like flavors, and a nice woody oak finish that will make you want to come back for a second sampling. A truly unique vodka, it bridges the gap between wine and vodka drinkers perfectly.
Bottom Line:
When you crack open a bottle of Hangar 1 Rosé, you might not immediately know how to use it. It works well in a classic vodka tonic or as the base for a very unique, flavorful martini. – Christopher Osburn
If you know anything about Effen Vodka it’s that 50 Cent has served as the main brand ambassador for the Dutch brand for years. During that time, he’s beefed with P-Diddy about his rival vodka brand and bragged about making $60 million in his deal. But, even with all that fanfare, the vodka is… actually pretty good. This is especially true about Effen Black Cherry. While citrus is usually the go-to vodka flavor, this highly mixable vodka is made with natural black cherry and Madagascar vanilla beans.
Tasting Notes:
Like many fruit-centric vodkas, the nose is really fruity with strong dried cherry scents and just a hint of subtle vanilla beans. Taking a sip reveals more ripe cherries, light berries, vanilla cookies. The finish is mild, mellow, slightly warming, and ends with a lot of pleasing sweetness.
Bottom Line:
If you enjoy cherry and vanilla, you’ll love this vodka. It will give your favorite vodka a fruity, cherry kick that you won’t soon forget. We suggest using it in a classic vodka gimlet, screwdriver, or sea breeze. Or just mix it with an Italian cherry soda. – Christopher Osburn
Poland’s Zubrowka is one of the most subtly flavored herbal vodkas on the market — so much so that you might not even know it’s flavored while you drink it. The vodka is based on bison grass that grows on the Białowieża Forest, which stretches from Eastern Poland into Belarus and is Europe’s last primeval forest. Bison and wolves still roam between its ancient, mossy trees.
Tasting Notes:
You’re greeted with a mix of honey, freshly shorn wheat fields, and a note of lemon citrus with a hint of almond. The taste very much keeps hold of those notes as the grass sweetens and a creamy texture leads towards a distinct pistachio essence. The end of the sip feels a bit like a lemon cake with a creamy, pistachio-filled frosting.
Bottom Line:
This is a bottle of vodka that’s always in my freezer. It’s a phenomenal flavored vodka. In fact, I’d call this the best-flavored vodka there is. It’s subtle. Delicious. And you still know you’re drinking vodka with every sip. – Zach Johnston
Stoli is an all-around classic Russian vodka. The mix of wheat and Latvian spring water makes for one of the most drinkable spirits in the biz. Their new-ish release, Stoli Lime, uses lime oils to imbue a bright and vivid lime essence to the vodka without adding any sugars or syrups. You’re getting pure vodka with the pure essence of lime.
Tasting Notes:
“Vivid” is the word that keeps coming to mind. You’re greeted with a rush of bright lime oils from the moment you open the bottle. The taste has the dry grassiness of Stoli with light creamy vanilla that’s brightened by the addition of vibrant citrus oils and tartness. The end isn’t long but it is very soft and illuminating while leaving you with the feeling of a real lime.
Bottom Line:
This is an essential bottle to have on hand for bright summer cocktails or highball, especially a cosmopolitan. – Zach Johnston
Texas’ Deep Eddy is a much-lauded craft vodka. The ten-times distilled spirit is cut with Ruby Red grapefruit juice and a dose of sugar cane syrup. The mix edges very close to an RTD (ready to drink) spirit. You really don’t need to add much to this stuff to make it pop.
Tasting Notes:
The Ruby Red grapefruit comes in tart, sweet, and strong from the nose through the palate to the end. The sweetness is there but makes sense against the grapefruit juice. The vodka stays very neutral since, let’s face it, grapefruit juice is a lot to get through. Still, this ends up being bright and refreshing without being overly sweetened.
Bottom Line:
Add some fizzy water and ice to this and you have the perfect summer highball. You really don’t need to go beyond that recipe. It’ll be amazingly refreshing and really hard to get tired of. – Zach Johnston
Smirnoff is a vodka that really suits jazzing up with bold flavors. In this case, the addition of sweet and slightly funky tamarind paste and a bushel of hot chilis makes for a great base vodka.
Tasting Notes:
You’re greeted with a rush of that chili spiciness and an underbelly of sweetness. There’s almost a bitterness at play that lends a chili-choco vibe that’s very light and slightly boozy. The end will leave you with a slight burning from the chili but nothing overly hot.
I actually like the whole “Botanicals” line from Ketel One. The language and marketing are basically that of high-end gin or La Croix. Lots of talk of “essence” — which basically means a reduction, distillation, or extracted oils, depending on the ingredient. In this case, it’s white peach and orange blossom. Pretty straightforward, with the devil being in the details.
And the details seem pretty solid here. Lots of craft, a solid dose of flavor, and not a lot of sugar. What more do you want from flavored vodka?
Tasting Notes:
The peach on the nose is so pungent and so un-chemical. It’s really dreamy, like opening a jar of peaches prepared last season by a friend. The palate is more mellow. You get white peach, fresher and less stewed than it was on the nose, plus delicate orange notes. There’s natural heat from the vodka and a nice dose of minerality. That minerality is really the dominant flavor on the finish — with the peach fading quickly and the orange dissipating next.
Bottom Line:
If you’re spiking a jug of iced tea this summer, this is the bottle to reach for. – Steve Bramucci

Everything’s still hazy just three weeks into the WNBA season. New teammates are building chemistry, injuries are forcing franchises to re-arrange their plans, and some players are just returning to the United States to play for the first time.
The schedule’s also been a bit erratic. The Minnesota Lynx and Los Angeles Sparks have only played five games while the Indiana Fever and Connecticut Sun have both played nine. All of this is to say that in another three weeks, the landscape of the league could be wildly different.
But for now, let’s rank where each team stands while factoring in why their record may be what it is.
12. Indiana Fever (1-8)
The good news: Teaira McCowan is off to a solid start, averaging a career-high 11.2 points per game with 9.4 rebounds in 26.8 minutes. She may be the franchise’s most important player going forward and she’s getting opportunities to develop. Kelsey Mitchell, the team’s leading scorer and a 38.9 percent shooter from range last season, has also been ice cold from three-point range (11-for-50), so things should look up from here. She’ll find her shot again.
The bad news: The team’s last two first-round picks haven’t impressed yet. No. 3 2020 pick Lauren Cox, who suffered from COVID-19 last year and entered this season with a knee injury, has only played in 54 minutes over five games. No. 4 2021 pick Kysre Gondrezick is scoring 3.6 points per game with 1.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists in just 11.3 minutes.
11. Los Angeles Sparks (2-3)
The good news: After battling a back injury in last year’s bubble, Nneka Ogwumike was back to her All-Star ways. In five games, she averaged 16.4 points on 58.6 percent shooting with seven rebounds, and 1.2 assists. The Sparks need the 30-year-old at the top of her game with Candace Parker and Chelsea Gray out of town, and she’s delivered.
The bad news: On Thursday, it was announced that Ogwumike will miss the next four-to-six weeks with a Grade 2 knee sprain. Her absence is devastating for a team that will also be without rookie Jasmine Walker due to a season-ending ACL injury. L.A. will have limited options to search for answers with its best player sidelined.
10. Minnesota Lynx (1-4)
The good news: Sylvia Fowles is back after a calf injury held her out of 15 games in a 22-game season last year. She’s averaging 19.2 points per night, which would be the second-highest total of her Hall of Fame-worthy career, on 61.5 percent shooting with 9.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.2 blocks. Also, Napheesa Collier has only played in two games since returning from overseas, including an overtime win over the Connecticut Sun, and, new-acquisition Layshia Clarendon was stellar in their debut, scoring 12 points with five rebounds and three assists in 27 minutes.
The bad news: Aerial Powers’ hamstring injury has her sidelined indefinitely. It’s a total bummer.
9. Chicago Sky (2-5)
The good news: The Sky are off to a tough start, but the simple fix is to get everyone healthy. Candace Parker and Allie Quigley have each only played in one game, and Quigley’s slated to return on Thursday. It’s tough to evaluate a team missing a significant amount of its firepower, and in a month we may forget they ever struggled to begin with.
The bad news: In just a 32-game season, each game matters, and dropping the first five out of seven could really come back to hurt them. In the playoffs, the top two seeds have the ultimate gift of not having to play in a win-or-go-home game. Chicago will have little room for error going forward to earn one of those spots.
8. Washington Mystics (2-4)
The good news: Tina Charles has been awesome, scoring 26.7 points per game on 46.8 percent shooting including 10 three-pointers, which is just one shy of her total from the entire 2019 season. She’s also grabbing 8.3 boards and dishing 1.7 assists, keeping Washington in games. The team’s 29-point rout of the Liberty was convincing.
The bad news: Elena Delle Donne still hasn’t played, and there’s been no date set for when she might return. As great as Charles has been, the Mystics need EDD to compete against the league’s elite.
7. Dallas Wings (2-4)
The good news: Marina Mabrey looks like the most improved player in the league, hitting defenders with step-back three-pointers we haven’t seen from her in the W. She’s scoring 19.3 points per game on 48.8 percent shooting from the field and 46.7 percent shooting from three-point range with 6.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists. She’s become another weapon next to Arike Ogunbowale in the third-most efficient offense in the league. This is all despite Allisha Gray only playing in one game and Satou Sabally not playing in any. The Wings’ ceiling is high.
The bad news: Ogunbowale hasn’t found her shooting touch yet, but it’s nothing to be too concerned about. She’s shooting just 38 percent from the field, but still getting her 21.8 points per game on 18 field goal attempts. Dallas is in good shape.
6. Phoenix Mercury (4-3)
The good news: The Mercury are 2-1 without Diana Taurasi thanks to Kia Nurse’s euro-step halfcourt game-winner. Nurse is having a bounce-back season scoring 11.4 points on 41.5 percent three-point shooting. Brittney Griner, who left the bubble early last season, is also off to a stellar start, scoring 17.1 points on 56.3 percent shooting with 9.3 rebounds, two assists, and 2.4 blocks per game.
The bad news: Taurasi will miss at least a month with a fracture in her sternum, and Bria Hartley remains sidelined after her torn Achilles last year, too. It’s unclear if Phoenix can maintain this level of play for extended time, but the All-Star combination of Nurse, Griner, and Skylar Diggins-Smith has been great so far.
5. Atlanta Dream (4-2)
The good news: The Dream entered the season as a team most expected to be fighting for a playoff spot, but cruising through a four-game win streak, Atlanta looks ready now. Courtney Williams is leading the way scoring 19.5 points per game on 55.2 percent three-point shooting, taking nearly three times the amount of attempts she did per game in 2020. She’s just five makes short of her most from distance in any season.
The bad news: Atlanta hasn’t had the most difficult schedule to start the year, and the real test will come as the team plays two games against the Lynx followed by a pair against the Storm in the next two weeks. They’ll likely have to play without Chennedy Carter, who suffered a hyperextended right elbow, too.
4. New York Liberty (5-2)
The good news: The front office made some great decisions in the offseason, and the new-acquisitions are showing why. Betnijah Laney is building off her Most Improved Player of the Year season as a sure-fire All-Star scoring 22.3 points per game on 51.9 percent shooting with five assists and four rebounds. No. 6 pick Michaela Onyenwere looks like the Rookie of the Year, scoring 12.1 points on 44.1 percent three-point shooting with 3.3 rebounds. Sabrina Ionescu looks fully healed from her ankle sprain last season, too, scoring 16.1 points with 7.1 assists and 6.6 rebounds.
The bad news: Natasha Howard is out for 4-6 weeks with a sprained MCL. Kylee Shook and Kiah Stokes have done an OK job backing her up, but it’s impossible to replace everything the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year brings. Can New York keep this up without her?
3. Las Vegas Aces (5-3)
The good: The Aces’ stars all look great. A’ja Wilson is scoring 17.6 points per game on 51.6 percent shooting, Liz Cambage is scoring 14.8 points on just 9.4 shots, and Chelsea Gray is quickly settling in as the team’s new point guard, dishing a career-high 6.4 assists per night with just 2.4 turnovers. Jackie Young has been tremendous in spurts, too. Even without Angel McCoughtry, whose knee injury will sideline her for the entire season, and Kelsey Plum, who missed six games to compete in the Olympic 3×3 qualifiers, Las Vegas has looked scary.
The bad: It’s super early in the year, but Vegas was put to the test playing the Storm and Sun twice each in their first eight games and only came away with one win. It’s too soon to read too much into that, though.
2. Seattle Storm (6-1)
The good: Sue Bird, Jewell Loyd, and Breanna Stewart are so dang good. Loyd, in particular, has been impressive, scoring 19.4 points per game on 44.5 percent shooting from the field and 40.5 percent shooting from distance with 4.9 assists. Even without Alysha Clark and Natasha Howard, Seattle’s looked like a championship-caliber unit.
The bad: The team isn’t as deep as it once was, and Katie Lou Samuelson has only played in two games as she competed in the 3×3 Olympic qualifier. We’ll have to see how she fits back into the rotation.
1. Connecticut Sun (7-2)
The good: Even without Alyssa Thomas, the Sun have been a defensive gauntlet with height and wingspan to keep nearly anyone out of the paint. And on the other end, Jonquel Jones and DeWanna Bonner look like the toughest one-two scoring punch in the league. A pair of wins over the Aces and an overtime loss to the Storm are proof enough that this team can compete with the best. Three double-digit wins over the rest of the field shows they’re a head above everyone else, too.
Rowdy Rebel and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie‘s “9 Bridge” saw the two New York natives form a strong cross-borough connection and that connection is deepened in their video for the song, which they shared today. Opening with a closeup of a sword in a stone in the middle of a Manhattan street, the video finds A Boogie claiming the sword before being beset by a sneaky attacker. Fortunately Rowdy is right there with a crossbow to get his rhyme partner’s back.
Elsewhere in the video the duo pilots a submarine, challenges the devil to a game of chess, and plays cliffhanger off the roof of a skyscraper in a cyberpunk cityscape.
While neither rapper has released much solo music this year, they’ve both been fairly prolific on the features front. Rowdy, fresh off a six-year prison stint, has been in high demand, appearing with Nav in the “Jesse Owens” video and CJ in the “Whoopty NYC Remix” video. Meanwhile, A Boogie popped up on a remix of TikTok star Mooski’s “Track Star” and put out a new single featuring Lil Durk, “24 Hours.”

In May, Modest Mouse announced The Golden Casket, which will be the band’s first album in six years when it comes out later this month. At the time, they also shared the anthemic single “We Are Between.” They’re since gone on to share “Leave A Light On,” but now Isaac Brock and company are revisiting “We Are Between” with a new video for the song.
The visual begins with clips of cars and livestock stranded in fields. Among this scene is Isaac brock, you finds himself interacting with a number of people, some of whom are real and others who are less so.
The band themselves haven’t said much about their new music, but the video seems to reflect some of the themes described in a previous press release quote about the project: “The album hovers in the liminal space between raw punk power and experimental studio science, frontman Isaac Brock explores themes ranging from the degradation of our psychic landscapes and invisible technology, to fatherhood. The twelve tracks behave like amorphous organisms, undergoing dramatic mutations and mood swings that speak to the chronic tug-of-war between hope and despair that plays out in Brock’s head.”
The band also recently announced a run of tour dates for the latter half of 2021. After playing Lollapalooza, they’ll travel the country between July and late October, with Future Islands joining them for a handful of dates.

As if the strange times we’ve been living through couldn’t get any weirder, the Pentagon is set to release a report on UFO sightings later this month. The report is the result of a program designed to record and investigate sightings by the U.S. military.
The highly-anticipated report comes on the heels of three mysterious videos of “unexplained aerial phenomena” declassified by the Defense Department and released last year.
One video taken in 2004 and two subsequent in 2015, show objects flying at high speeds in Earth’s atmosphere, accompanied by a conversation between astonished Navy pilots.
“There’s a whole fleet of them … My gosh, they’re all going against the wind, the wind is 120 knots to the west. Look at that thing dude!” a pilot exclaims in one of the videos.
Watch the Pentagon’s three declassified UFO videos taken by U.S. Navy pilots
Defense officials and lawmakers have been pushing for the report’s release and one of the most vocal is Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), the highest-ranking Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee.
“We cannot allow the stigma of UFOs to keep us from seriously investigating this. The forthcoming report is one step in that process, but it will not be the last,” he said in a statement to the Tampa Bay Times.
Former President Barack Obama has recently weighed in on the upcoming report and he shared his experiences with UFOs while in the Oval Office.
(Well, he shared what he’s allowed to share.)
“When it comes to aliens, there are some things I just can’t tell you on air,” he told Reggie Watts, bandleader of the Late Late Show. “The truth is that when I came into the office, I asked. I was like, ‘Is there a lab somewhere where we’re keeping the alien specimens and space ships?'”
“They did a little bit of research and the answer was no,” he said.
“But what is true, and I’m actually being serious here… there’s footage and records of objects in the skies that we don’t know exactly what they are, we can’t explain how they moved, their trajectory,” Obama said. “They did not have an easily explainable pattern.”
Reggie Watts to Barack Obama: What’s w/ Dem Aliens?
This week, Obama went deeper on the subject with Ezra Klein on his podcast. Klein asked how his politics would change if he found out that aliens exist.
“It’s interesting. It wouldn’t change my politics at all. Because my entire politics is premised on the fact that we are these tiny organisms on this little speck floating in the middle of space,” he said.
Obama wouldn’t be too surprised if there were life on other planets, given the vastness of the universe.
“When we were going through tough political times, and I’d try to cheer my staff up, I’d tell them a statistic that John Holdren, my science adviser, told me, which was that there are more stars in the known universe than there are grains of sand on the planet Earth,” he said.
“Well, sometimes it cheered them up; sometimes they’d just roll their eyes and say, oh, there he goes again,” he added.
Obama hopes that if alien life were discovered, it would remind Americans of their common humanity.
“We’re just a bunch of humans with doubts and confusion,” he said. “We do the best we can. And the best thing we can do is treat each other better because we’re all we’ve got. And so I would hope that the knowledge that there were aliens out there would solidify people’s sense that what we have in common is a little more important.”
But he also fears the discovery could also lead to further discord.
“But no doubt there would be immediate arguments like, well, we need to spend a lot more money on weapons systems to defend ourselves,” he said. “New religions would pop up. And who knows what kind of arguments we get into. We’re good at manufacturing arguments for each other.”
So, at his core, it appears Obama believes that human nature is so deeply ingrained that even if we learned of life on other planets, it wouldn’t fundamentally change who we are.
Sorry aliens, humans are gonna human. Plan accordingly. But if you do land on Earth and ask to be taken to our leader, you’re in good hands if the people send you to Obama.
Fresh off the release of his album The Off-Season, J. Cole actually is in the off-season as he has just finished up his contract playing pro basketball in Africa. Now pivoting focus back to his music, Cole drops a visual to his brief track “Punchin The Clock.”
Much like his previous “Applying Pressure” visual, “Punchin’ The Clock” was directed by Scott Lazer and pays homage to New York City. This time, it shows the very-NYC act of attempting to catch a yellow cab. Once Cole finally secures a ride, he fires off verses about getting back into the swing of things.
The song’s intro and outro is a audio clip of Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard, who reflects on the importance of putting in hard work in the off-season in order for it to pay off later, clearly a metaphor for Cole’s album as a whole. “In the summer, I think when you truly prepare yourself, and with training and conditioning, and things like that, when you cheat yourself, you fail in those moments,” Lillard says at the song’s close. “You know, you crash, and when you really put the time in and whether people see it, or whether people know it or not, you know, it always come to light.”
