Diddy Explains His 15 Roaches Story After Skeptics Doubt His Digits

Diddy‘s told some outlandish tall tales over the years, but recently, fans expressed skepticism over one of those stories when he claimed that he once woke up motivated to escape the hood because there were “15 roaches” on his face. Fans on Twitter doubted the digits, taking the rap mogul to task for exaggerating the numbers. However, in a new video for Vanity Fair to accompany his cover story, the man who nicknamed himself “Love” tries to set the record straight.

“One day, I woke up with, like, 15 roaches on my face,” he reiterates in the video, addressing the skeptics and reinforcing his narrative at the same time. ” “People were like, ‘How did you know it was 15?’ and I was like, ‘If you had 15 roaches on your face, you would know there was around 15 roaches on your face.’”

Diddy initially shared the story in the caption of a video of himself eating mango by a pool. In the video, he gives one of his signature motivational speeches: “You could do it,” he implores viewers. “You could be whoever you want. You could be eating mango too, with the ocean as your backdrop. I ain’t special. I just want it. I want it bad, you feel me? I won’t allow myself to not have mango. I hustle hard.”

John Oliver’s Not Afraid To Give His Blunt Prediction About The ‘Sex And The City’ Revival

Last Week Tonight‘s most recent deep dive began with a Mickey Mouse joke for the books before swan-diving into the abyss of the ambulance crisis. That’s the John Oliver way, and if you thought that he would limit the evening’s lighthearted swings to matters of Disney, well, nope. The late-night HBO host also fired a shot at a property owned by his overlords, and that’s also Oliver’s way. He’s shown himself, on multiple occasions, to be fearless while criticizing HBO parent company AT&T, and now, Oliver’s calling out what he predicts to be a programming stumble.

This declaration also happened in the context of ambulance shortages, around the 9:00 minute mark in the above video. After showcasing how a locally run EMS provider found itself precariously close to shutting down due to staffing issues, Oliver pulled out an HBO Max analogy, which would be the decision to revive Sex And The City (under the And Just Like That… title) without Kim Cattrall’s Samantha character, a development that left many fans livid. Oliver is on board with that head-scratching furor.

“No workplace should be in danger of shutting down because it loses one person… unless that workplace is the Sex and the City reboot,” Oliver declared. “What are you thinking?!? It’s never going to work without Kim Cattrall!

The host didn’t stop there while making it clear that he wasn’t making a target of Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, or Kristin Davis. “It’s not that any of you are bad,” he insisted. “It’s that you only work together. I can’t appreciate my Puritan Charlotte if I don’t have my Naughty Samantha.” That’s a fair assessment, and even moreso: “And I live for Miranda Hobbs, but if she’s not serving side-eye while Samantha is using penne pasta to describe her new Italian lover’s d*ck, what is the point?”

Again, totally fair. Despite the franchise’s efforts to address a key criticism of the original series by adding several women of color, and the return of both Chris Noth’s Mr. Big and Evan Handler’s Harry, there’s one inevitable reality: there’s no void-filling replacement for Samantha Jones.

Mark Hoppus And Tom DeLonge Reunite And Discuss The M. Night Shyamalan Blink-182 Video That Almost Was

Shortly after Mark Hoppus revealed his cancer diagnosis, former Blink-182 bandmate Tom DeLonge shared a message of support. Now, the two have reunited on Hoppus’ Apple Music 1 show After School Radio for a conversation. During their chat, the two spoke about the time DeLonge approached M. Night Shyamalan about directing a Blink-182 video, an idea the director seemed to have taken seriously.

DeLonge said (as Billboard notes):

“Within half an hour, we’re all sitting together and he’s coming up with ideas for a Blink video, and I mean, he did come up with a whole treatment and everything. It was going to cost, whatever it was, $20 million, but I mean, just on your gumption or I don’t know, no f*cks to give, just walk up to somebody and say, ‘Hey, I want you to direct a Blink video.’ I think when he found out what music video budgets really were, he was like, ‘This is so beneath me.’ No, he didn’t say that, but of course, he was like, ‘I’m not going to do this, this is a nightmare.’”

They also reminisced about how they bonded over phallic humor. DeLonge said with a laugh, “We appreciate d*ck jokes in a way that no one else does. It boils down to only that, there is nothing else. It’s that, in my opinion.” Hoppus added. “I think so, because the first time that we met, I think it was d*ck jokes from the beginning in your garage.”

Blink-182 is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

When Is Meghan McCain’s Last Day On ‘The View’?

When Meghan McCain announced on July 1 that she’s leaving The View, there was some confusing wording as the conservative commentator said she was not coming back for another season and that her last day would be at “the end of the month” when the show goes on hiatus. However, like all things Meghan, that timeframe wasn’t entirely accurate. The end of July has came and gone, and McCain is still on the air. That’s because her last day is August 6.

According one of her home state’s most prominent newspapers, The Arizona Republic, the daytime talk show has a special episode planned for McCain’s last day, which should be interesting considering she’s been getting routinely shaded by Whoopi Goldberg over the past week. Via AZ Central:

Her last episode co-hosting is Friday, Aug. 6. Among the scheduled guests is her mother, Cindy McCain, a frequent guest on “The View.”

McCain announced her departure at the beginning of July. Among her plans after leaving the show include producing a Lifetime movie, “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff,” starring Heather Locklear.

McCain’s exit will be an unusual time for The View. While her co-stars have made it clear both on the air and in media reports that they don’t particularly care for McCain’s penchant for going on off-topic rants that typically make her the center of attention, the outspoken Republican makes The View trend on social media on a nearly daily basis. Just this week, McCain made Mary Trump trend on Twitter after the conservative co-host bailed on an interview with the former president’s niece, which resulted in a war of words between the two.

As for her replacement, The View is reportedly taking it slow. However, original cast member Debbie Matenopoulos has been publicly angling to fill McCain’s seat.

Report: Kemba Walker Will Join The Knicks After Getting Bought Out By The Thunder

The New York Knicks have been awfully busy during the NBA’s free agency period, agreeing to contracts that’ll keep Alec Burks, Nerlens Noel, and Derrick Rose in the Big Apple while coming to terms on a deal with Evan Fournier. On Wednesday morning, the team reportedly positioned itself to make its biggest splash yet, bringing one of the city’s favorite sons to New York for the first time in his career.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that the Oklahoma City Thunder would come to terms on a buyout with Kemba Walker. Once that got all sorted out, Walker, a native of the Bronx, would make his way to the Knicks.

The report was confirmed shortly after by Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Walker joined the Thunder earlier this year in a trade that sent Al Horford to the Boston Celtics. He had two years and $74 million remaining on his deal, but instead of playing out that deal, Walker is set to head to Manhattan. While there are concerns about Walker’s ability to stay healthy due to lingering knee issues that plagued him last season, he was a productive player when he took the floor for the Celtics. Walker averaged 19.3 points and 4.9 assists in 31.8 minutes per game last year while connecting on 36 percent of his attempts from three.

John Collins Will Return To The Hawks On A Five-Year, $125 Million Deal

The top restricted free agent of this summer was, undoubtedly, John Collins after what he did in his fourth season with the Atlanta Hawks, helping to lead them to the Eastern Conference Finals. While it wasn’t clear if Collins would take whatever offer Atlanta brought to the table — thanks in large part to the fact that he had turned down offers from the team to extend before hitting free agency — the big man was able to come to terms on a deal to stay with the team that drafted him.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the two sides came to terms on a five-year deal with a player option that will pay Collins $125 million.

Collins turned down a 4-year, $90 million extension prior to the season to pursue possible max money this offseason and made that decision look smart as he backed up the best year of his career with a similarly impressive campaign on a winner, which he parlayed into one more year and a little more cash. Collins averaged 17.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game in 2020-21, shooting 55.6 percent from the field and 39.9 percent from three-point range, as he has established himself as a legitimate deep threat.

That ability to pop out to the three-point line, as well as being a significant rim threat as a roll man makes him incredibly valuable next to Trae Young, and any questions those two could coexist to lead a winner were answered with Atlanta’s run to the ECF.

Rihanna Is Officially A Billionaire By A Mile, According To ‘Forbes’

Rihanna hasn’t been active in music for a few years now, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t been working hard. The opposite is true, as she has been busy building Fenty into a huge empire. All that work has paid off, as Forbes now declares that she is a billionaire.

They estimate her worth to be $1.7 billion, with $1.4 million of that value coming from Fenty Beauty, of which Rihanna owns 50 percent. Savage x Fenty (which has an estimated value of $270 million) and her music career make up the bulk of the rest of her value. All in all, this makes her the richest female musician in the word and the second-richest female entertainer (behind Oprah).

Meanwhile, Rihanna previously hinted that she’d like to do something with music this year, saying, “2021 is a little unknown for everybody and nobody is sure what restrictions there are going to be. My creativity is within my control, though, and I want to take my music and my brands to a different level.” Before that, she noted, “I’m not just going to put music out because people are craving it. I’m going to make it worth the wait – and it will be worth the wait.”

The ‘Annette’ Trailer Has Adam Driver And Marion Cotillard In An Unlikely And Deeply Weird Musical

Annette is so much more than the movie where Adam Driver sings while performing cunnilingus on Marion Cotillard. It’s also a musical from Leos Carax, the brilliant director of Holy Motors, with music from Sparks (it’s been a big year for brothers Ron and Russell), and the “weirdest A Star is Born riff ever.” But yes, it’s also a movie where two-time Oscar nominee Adam Driver sings while performing cunnilingus on Oscar winner Marion Cotillard. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper would never.

“I just met someone,” Driver’s stand-up comedian character says about Cotillard’s opera singer in the trailer above. “She looked at me and smiled. What I see in her is obvious. What she sees in me, that’s a little more puzzling.” She probably sees a centaur.

Here’s more:

Los Angeles, today. Henry (Adam Driver) is a stand-up comedian with a fierce sense of humor who falls in love with Ann (Marion Cotillard), a world-renowned opera singer. Under the spotlight, they form a passionate and glamorous couple. The birth of their first child, Annette, a mysterious little girl with an exceptional destiny, will turn their lives upside down. A film by director Leos Carax (Holy Motors), with story and music by Ron & Russel Mael of Sparks, this original musical is a journey of passion, love, and fame.

Annette premieres on Amazon Prime Video on August 20.

Jennifer Aniston Says She’s ‘Lost A Few’ Friends Because They Were Anti-Vax Or Refused To Disclose Their Vaccination Status

We all copied her hairstyle back in the mid-1990s, even though her hairstylist was “stoned out of his mind” when he created it and she herself hated the cut. Now it’s time we take another life lesson from Jennifer Aniston and cut the people who won’t get vaccinated against COVID — or refuse to share their vaccination status (which, let’s face it, means they haven’t been vaccinated) — out of our lives and daily routines.

InStyle sat down with the Friends star for the cover of their September issue to talk about a wide range of topics, which eventually came around to COVID and how she’s been dealing with the lockdown. Aniston admitted that, like so many of us, she’s spent too much time watching the news, which is probably a bad thing. But that she cannot wrap her head around the number of anti-vaxxers that still exist, even after witnessing the havoc the COVID pandemic has wreaked on the world:

“[T]here’s still a large group of people who are anti-vaxxers or just don’t listen to the facts. It’s a real shame. I’ve just lost a few people in my weekly routine who have refused or did not disclose [whether or not they had been vaccinated], and it was unfortunate. I feel it’s your moral and professional obligation to inform, since we’re not all podded up and being tested every single day. It’s tricky because everyone is entitled to their own opinion — but a lot of opinions don’t feel based in anything except fear or propaganda.”

If only Aniston’s stance of COVID vaccines could catch on like “The Rachel.”

Margot Robbie’s ‘Break’ From Playing Harley Quinn Is Over: ‘I’m Already Ready For More Harley’

The reports of Harley Quinn’s death are greatly exaggerated.

Actually, that’s not entirely true: she died in Batman’s arms in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, unbeknownst to Margot Robbie, who has played the character in two, soon-to-be three movies, Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey, and The Suicide Squad. The Oscar-nominated actress recently said that she needed a break from Harley because she’s “exhausting,” leading fans to wonder when she’ll appear in her next movie.

Turns out, it might not be too long.

“No, I’ve had enough of a break. I’m ready to do her again,” Robbie told Entertainment Tonight. “I did Birds of Prey and The Suicide Squad back-to-back, so that was a lot of Harley all in a one year period, but that was a while ago now.” Filming for Birds of Prey took place in early 2019, while The Suicide Squad took up the end of that year into 2020; it wrapped just before the pandemic hit. She added, “I’m always ready for more Harley!”

Robbie has said that she would “love” to see what Harley and Poison Ivy have in the Harley Quinn animated series be depicted on the big screen, which is a much better idea than the seemingly scrapped Harley/Joker movie where they kidnap Dr. Phil. I would also be happy with a Harley and King Shark road trip buddy comedy. Make it happen, James Gunn.
