One of the more surprising guest appearances on Drake’s new album, Certified Lover Boy, came from Kid Cudi, who appeared alongside the Toronto rapper for “IMY2.” The two had not seen eye to eye for quite some time, with the peak of their beef being Drake’s diss track “Two Birds One Stone,” which features targeted shots at Cudi. Their tiff began after Cudi called him out in a tweet back in September 2016, which came one month before “Two Birds One Stone” was released. Nowadays, things are good between the two rappers, and in Cudi’s eyes, he’d prefer it stay that way.

On Friday, a fan quoted one of Cudi’s tweets and wrote, “Happy that the Cudi Drake beef is over.” Cudi kept it simple and replied, “Me too.” He also delivered an update on his and Travis Scott’s upcoming joint album, The Scotts.

It came when a fan on Twitter asked, “Is The Scott’s Albums still in the works?” While a timeline for its release is still in the air, Cudi assured his supporters that the project would be released in the future. “It’ll happen,” he wrote. “Not sure when, but it will.”

In just under two days, Drake’s Certified Lover Boy has broken major records on both Apple Music and Spotify. The album surpassed the number for most album streams in a single day, pushing past Apple Music’s previous mark of 170 million and Spotify’s own of 132 million. Both of those records we previously set by Drake’s 2018 album, Scorpion. Now, the Toronto rapper has broken yet another record on Apple Music.

Three songs on the rapper’s sixth album surpassed Apple Music’s previous record for the most-streamed song in a single day. The three tracks are “Girls Want Girls” with Lil Baby, “Champagne Poetry,” and “Fair Trade” with Travis Scott. Each posted higher first-day numbers than the previous record-holder: Drake’s 2018 track, “Nonstop.”

Certified Lover is a project fans waited more than eight months to get their hands on. Last fall, Drake announced the album would be released in January, but he was later forced to push it back due to time spent rehabbing and recovering from knee surgery. In addition to the aforementioned names, Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Young Thug, Future, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, and many more can be found on the 21-track album.

It’s been a little over two months since the music world was hit with sad news regarding Mark Hoppus. At the end of June, the Blink-182 vocalist and bassist revealed in an Instagram post that he’d been diagnosed with cancer. Since sharing the news, Hoppus has been quite open with the progress of his treatment. The latest update comes from his former bandmate Tom DeLonge, who posted a text conversation between the two that detailed promising news.

The post finds DeLonge checking in on Hoppus. “No more treatments right?” DeLonge writes with Hoppus replying, “No more planned.”

“Doctor said I can take my port out,” Hoppus adds. “I think because he thinks the chemo did the trick and I’m done but also if the chemo didn’t work we do a different treatment entirely?” DeLonge happily responds, writing, “That’s great news. Time for LIVING,” before offering some light-hearted advice to Hoppus. “U need to f*ck as many things as possible. Shoes, gopher holes, golfers. Anything u can catch.”

The caption reads, “I wanted to be a good friend to Mark Hoppus and just give some modest advice on what he should do next, now that his Chemo treatments have subsided and it looks like they may have worked wonderfully.”

The restrictive abortion law that went into effect in Texas during the week has received a lot of pushback, albeit not from the Supreme Court. Companies, like Lyft and Uber, have vowed to cover all legal fees should their drivers get sued for driving women to clinics. Young people have found creative ways to clog snitching services run by anti-abortion groups. But Bette Midler has an even more simple solution: starve men from sex until the law is overturned.

“I suggest that all women refuse to have sex with men until they are guaranteed the right to choose by Congress,” the legendary performer tweeted on Thursday, the day after the law went into effect.

The measure bans all abortions after only six weeks — before most women even realize they’re pregnant. It also allows people to sue those who perform or even aid abortions, such as gig economy car share drivers. After the Supreme Court voted 5-4 to do nothing, President Joe Biden and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi have promised to do what they can to upend the law, which violates Roe v. Wade (and which has been seen as the first volley in overturning that longstanding ruling).

Midler’s idea isn’t an original one. It’s the exact plot of the ancient Greek play Lysistrata, in which women refuse to have sex with their husbands and lovers until they end the Peloponnesian War. Six years ago, Spike Lee made an update to this, called Chi-Raq, in which women do the same thing in an attempt to end gang violence in Chicago. Alyssa Milano floated the same idea only two years back, after Georgia enacted its own anti-abortion law.

The abortion law isn’t the only thing that enraged Midler. “The cruelty of the #GOP is endless,” she tweeted on the same day. “We are suffering COVID-19, hurricanes, apocalyptic flooding, wildfires from hell, joblessness, homelessness, evictions, racial strife, and they pick this hideous time to pile on yet another shock to women, by taking away their right to choose.”

For at least the past six months, Anita Baker put up a hard fight to regain control of her masters after her previous label refused to return them. “Miraculously… i have out-lived *ALL, of my Artists Contracts,” the singer wrote in a tweet back in March. “They no longer ‘Own’, My Name & Likeness. And, by Law…30 yr old, Mstrs are 2B Returned, 2 Me. Unfortunately, They’re gonna make me Fight 4 it. I’m Prepared, 2 do that. Please Dont advertise/buy them ABXO.” Her message earned support from Chance The Rapper and Taylor Swift, the latter who had her own well-publicized battle for her masters.

Thankfully, Baker finally won control of her masters and she took to Twitter to share the news. “All My Children Are Coming Home,” she wrote in a tweet attached with an image that displayed vinyl records of her first five albums. “Catalog. Impossible Things Happen… Every. Single. Day. Gratefully.” Shortly thereafter, a fan asked her if the news meant that they could stream her music again. “Yes. Chil’ren….” she replied. “STREAM ON [music note and ballon emojis] ABXO.”

Baker’s catalog consists of seven albums, one live album, and a compilation project. It includes her No. 1 1988 album Giving You the Best That I Got and three additional top-five projects: 1990’s Compositions, 1994’s Rhythm Of Love, and 2004’s My Everything.

Although, funnily enough, Bill Murray did famously turn down the leads in Hanks’ hits “Forrest Gump” and “Philadelphia,” but I’m guessing nobody has ever screamed, “Loved you in ‘Ghostbusters'” at Hanks as he walked down the street.

But for some reason, call it fate, call it luck, call it karma, the man making the “waaah” face in the orange raincoat above could easily be either man.

DiMichele-Ross posted the photo to a popular Facebook blog “Reasons My Son Is Crying” in May 2013. The photo resurfaced in October 2016 on the Today Show website, reigniting the controversy all over again.

Regardless of what the Internet is saying, DiMichele-Ross backs her original claim that it’s Murray. “It’s totally Bill,” she reiterated in a comment on her post. “I can vouch cause I’m the one in the photo with the massive grin thinking ‘Oh my god this is going to be an awesome photo!'”

Addie Rodriguez was supposed to take the field with her dad during a high school football game, where he, along with other dads, would lift her onto his shoulders for a routine. But Addie’s dad was halfway across the country, unable to make the event.

Her father is Abel Rodriguez, a veteran airman who, after tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, was training at Travis Air Force Base in California, 1,700 miles from his family in San Antonio at the time.

“Mom missed the memo it was parent day, and the reason her mom missed the memo was her dad left Wednesday,” said Alexis Perry-Rodriguez, Addie’s mom. She continued, “It was really heartbreaking to see your daughter standing out there being the only one without their father, knowing why he’s away. It’s not just an absentee parent. He’s serving our country.”

But as Addie sat there in front of the game’s crowd, with no one to join her on the field, someone ran toward her. That person was Central Catholic High School senior Matthew Garcia, who went to her after realizing she was the only cheerleader without a partner.

Garcia told local news station FOX 29, “I ran down from the bleachers right here, and I just hopped the fence, and I went over, and I kneeled down, I talked to her and I said, ‘Are you OK?'”

He then lifted Addie onto his shoulders just like the dads did with their daughters so she could participate in the routine. Many onlookers quickly realized they were witnessing an extraordinary act of kindness, and social media was abuzz:

It may have been a small gesture for Garcia, but as Addie tells it, that little bit of assistance meant the world to her. They posed for a picture after the routine was done, and it’s clear this will be one encounter she won’t soon forget.

“I just felt like somebody saved my life,” Addie said, adding, “I thought that’s so nice, especially since my dad’s serving for us.”

When a cocky young man started showing off his muscles for the “Flex Cam” at a Philadelphia Soul arena football game, he got more than he bargained for after showing off his physique to a couple of women sitting behind him.

When the camera made its way back around, he was instantly upstaged by the superior muscles of one of the ladies he had tried to impress. He had no choice but to sink sadly into his seat while the stronger woman flexed over his head.
