Jamie Foxx Recalls A Time He Used Snoop Dogg To Scare His Daughter’s Boyfriend

Some fathers don’t take too well to meeting their daughter’s boyfriends. One person is Jamie Foxx, who during a recent episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon told a story about how, when meeting his spawn’s paramour, sought a little help from no less than Snoop Dogg.

“My daughter, who didn’t know I had already run a background check on her boyfriend, he comes to the crib and Snoop happens to be there,” he told the crowd. “And I said, ‘Snoop, there he is right there. Shake him up.’ Snoop just walked over to my daughter’s boyfriend and just said ‘Hey, what’s up? What’s up cuz? You know. Hey, look here. You know. We her uncles, you know what I’m saying? So act accordingly, homie.’”

Foxx has two daughters, Corinne and Anelise, but he did not specify which one was subject to this episode. But since the latter is only 12 years old, it’s safe to say it’s Corrine.

For more with Snoop Dogg and Jamie Foxx, you can stay tuned for their upcoming film Day Shift. The movie is a vampire action thriller with a cast that includes Dave Franco, Eric Lange, Karla Souza, Meagan Good, and Zion Broadnax. A release date for the movie has not been revealed yet, but it is confirmed to arrive at some point in 2022.

Golden State Warriors X-Factor: Otto Porter Jr.

As the NBA season approaches and training camps get underway, we’ll be taking a look at the player on each team that holds the key to unlocking their full potential.

In Golden State, there are a number of questions facing the Warriors, most notably the health and availability of Klay Thompson coming off of two serious injuries back-to-back. Even beyond Thompson, the Warriors had to get more spacing and secondary creation onto the roster around Stephen Curry, and, without much money to do so, they ended up taking a flier on Otto Porter Jr. in free agency.

It’s been a long time since we saw a fully healthy season from Porter, playing just 42 games in the last two seasons, but he’s been able to play he’s a career 40 percent three-point shooter and, when healthy, can create for himself off the dribble. Porter provides them with some much needed depth behind Andrew Wiggins who can serve as something as a Wiggins-lite offensively (a better shooter, a worse creator) to ensure they always have someone on the wing that presents at least something of an offensive threat.

His defensive impact comes down to how much mobility he’s lost after foot and back issues have derailed his past two seasons. Early in his career in Washington, his combination of size, length, and athleticism made him a versatile wing defender. Since injuries have piled up, he’s not had the same impact on that end in Chicago and a brief stint in Orlando, but on a team with a defensive identity and system in place, it figures to be easier for him to find his role in Golden State.

Porter has a chance to be one of the steals of free agency. That requires him to be on the floor, but he fills a lot of needs for this Warriors team and a return to form could simultaneously elevate his value for next offseason and the Warriors’ chances of competing in the West.

Michael Keaton’s Batman Can Be Heard And Just Barely Seen In The First Look Teaser For ‘The Flash’

Comic books movies are in a multiverse phase. Spider-Man’s has been doing it, and over at the DCEU so is The Flash, the long-gestating solo film for Ezra Miller’s speed racer. The movie’s till a ways away from release. Heck, it’s even still shooting. There’s not yet enough footage for a full-blown teaser, let alone a trailer, but at this year’s DC FanDome, they were able to show something. And that something included one of the movie’s most anticipated elements.

That’s to say that you hear and just barely see Michael Keaton’s Batman. Back in 1989, the acclaimed actor was the second person to play the Caped Crusader on the big screen, after Adam West. He left the gig after only two movies, but he was roped back in for the first time in almost 30 years, playing Bruce Wayne in a timeline where he doesn’t look like Ben Affleck…or Christian Bale…or Robert Pattinson…or Val Kilmer…or George Clooney.

Keaton can be heard speaking on the soundtrack, asking Miller’s Barry Allen why on earth he chose his timeline, out of all the infinite others. At the end you can see pointy ears in silhouette, presumably belonging to Keaton (or a double). Eagle-eyed viewers may also catch something else: two Ezra Millers. That’s because the actor will be playing multiple Barry Allens, including one with longer hair.

There’s one other surprise at the end, but we’ll let you discover that one on your own. You can watch the teaser in the video above. The Flash is currently scheduled for release on November 4, 2022.

42 Dugg And Lil Durk Pay Their Respects In A Flashy Video For ‘Free Ric’

At the end of August, Detroit native 42 Dugg shared the deluxe version of Free Dem Boyz, which he released earlier this year. Seven more songs were added to the record, with new features from Nardo Wick, Moneybagg Yo, and more. Lil Durk can also be found on the deluxe thanks to his appearance on “Free Ric.” Now, less than two months after the song’s release, Dugg calls on Durk to appear in a flashy video for the track, which finds the rappers showing off their large sums of money and expensive jewelry while delivering boastful raps as their respective crews stand behind them.

Free Dem Boyz, which also features Fivio Foreign, Roddy Ricch, EST Gee, Rylo Rodriguez, and Future, became Dugg’s high-charting album after it debuted at No. 8. The new video comes after Dugg shared ones for “Bestfriends,” Rose Gold,” “Turnest N**** In The City,” “Maybach,” and more.

As for Lil Durk, he just released his single “Pissed Me Off,” which comes as a response to unfortunate incidents that recently occurred in his life. He’s also going back to school to get his high school diploma.

Steve Bannon Was Reportedly Very Worried That Jeffrey Epstein Would Reveal Damning Things About Trump During His First Presidential Run

When Jeffrey Epstein mysteriously died in 2019, he took a lot of secrets with him involving the notorious and the semi-beloved alike. The disgraced financier was friendly with Bill Clinton, and he was chummy with another president, Donald J. Trump. As per a new report by Insider, when the latter was in the midst of his first presidential run in 2016, one of his closest advisers was reportedly very worried he’d spill some very nasty beans indeed.

Insider got their hands on a copy of Michael Wolff’s forthcoming book, Too Famous: The Rich, the Powerful, the Wishful, the Damned, the Notorious — Twenty Years of Columns, Essays and Reporting. (Wolff has written multiple bestsellers about Trump, including Fire and Fury and Siege: Trump Under Fire.) His latest book alleges that Epstein was sure he could bargain himself out of criminal charges by turning over intel on both Clinton and Trump. He even believed, Wolff says, that investigators were specifically targeting him because of his ties to the now-former presidents.

As per Wolff’s book:

“The White House, through the Justice Department, was looking to press a longtime Republican obsession, and Trump ace-in-the-hole, and get Epstein to flip and reveal the sex secrets of Bill Clinton. Trump, if he was obsessed with Clinton, which he was, was also obsessed with what Epstein knew about Clinton.’”

But Trump wasn’t the only one worried about Epstein’s potentially loose lips. Wolff claims Steve Bannon, then the former president’s chief strategist, “repeatedly” called Epstein up. Wolff even personally witnessed one call that took place shortly before Epstein’s arrest during a press visit. (Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak was also there, he says.)

“You were the only person I was afraid of during the campaign,” Bannon told Epstein, Wolff claims. “As well you should have been.”

So what does that mean? Did Epstein have real, damning dirt on Trump? Or was Bannon just being paranoid? And, perhaps more importantly, if whatever Epstein knew about Trump came out, would it at all matter to his loyal supporters, who have stuck by him through thick and thin, even after he seemed to mock their gullibility by claiming, rightly, that he could “shoot somebody” on Fifth Avenue in New York City and I wouldn’t lose any voters, okay?” You never know, but probably not.

Ohio’s Armani Rogers Set The FBS Record For The Longest QB Touchdown Run With A 99-Yard Score Against Buffalo

History was made on Saturday afternoon thanks to Ohio quarterback Armani Rogers. The Bobcats went to western New York to take on Buffalo in a noon MAC kick, and early on in the game, Rogers and the offense were backed up about as far as a team can be without giving up a safety.

Ohio faced a first-and-10 from its own one and decided to call a play that, in theory, should have just gotten them a little bit of room as they tried to have a sustained drive. Rogers took the snap and ran to the left, but instead of trudging forward and picking up a few yards to set the team up with a second-and-something reasonable, the dude just kept running.

Thirteen seconds and 99 yards later, Rogers found himself in the end zone, handed the ball to the referee, and celebrated a score with his teammates.

He should probably figure out a way to get that football back from that referee, though, because this run put Rogers in the record books. The 99-yard scamper was the longest touchdown run by a quarterback in FBS history, and the good news for Rogers is that it can never be broken unless the NCAA decides to make its field longer, for some reason.

John Cena’s Antihero Tries Real Hard To Be Good In The First Teaser for ‘Peacemaker’

When last we saw John Cena’s Christopher Smith, aka Peacemaker, during the end credits of The Suicide Squad, he was back from the dead. Not even a bullet to the throat, fired by no less than Idris Elba, could get the latent psychopath and probable fascist down. James Gunn killed a lot of antiheroes in his gory sequel, but he had other plans for the trigger-happy oddball. Specifically he had a TV show waiting for him, which, based on the new teaser that bowed at DC FanDome, shows him struggling — and maybe failing — actually be good.

Of course, Peacemaker already thinks he’s one of the good guys. He’s just so committed to keeping the peace that he will violently kill if he feels it’s necessary, which it too often is. The teaser finds him awakening in a hospital bed, only to be recruited by underlings of Viola Davis’ Amanda Walker (who will likely not be seen in the show). His mission. To “kill people.” Or as one of them adds by way of correction, “bad people.”

As in The Suicide Squad, Cena is pompous, hypocritical, generally just “off.” At one point he launches into a bizarre monologue about “butt babies” that only someone who has deep problems would spout off about in public. But while Gunn loves misfits like the Guardians of the Galaxy, he also loves damaged weirdos, like Rainn Wilson in his dark comic book movie deconstruction Super. Gunn wrote all eight episodes and directed five. And you can see how he did starting Jan. 13.

You can watch the Peacemaker teaser in the video above.

Detroit Pistons X-Factor: Killian Hayes

As the NBA season approaches and training camps get underway, we’ll be taking a look at the player on each team that holds the key to unlocking their full potential.

For the Detroit Pistons, this season is about continuing to lay a foundation, with top overall pick Cade Cunningham at the center of it all. There’s a pretty good sense that Cunningham will, at the least, be very good in the NBA, it’s just a matter of what level of star he can reach. That takes time and also requires him to have a quality supporting cast around him. Last year’s No. 7 overall pick, Killian Hayes, had a tough go as a rookie, with early struggles compounded by a hip injury that caused him to miss 41 games. But how he bounces back in his sophomore campaign will be important for how the Pistons evaluate who is part of their long-term vision, which is the most important part of this coming season.

Hayes never really got a chance to get into a rhythm as a rookie, playing seven games before getting hurt and then returned, bouncing in and out of the lineup out of precaution. He averaged 6.8 points, 5.3 assists, and 3.2 turnovers per game on 35.3/27.8/82.4 shooting splits that tell the story of a rookie point guard trying to find his way in the NBA on a bad team, although he showed some flashes towards the very end of the season that produced a bit of optimism for the future. With Cunningham now alongside, Hayes has another ball-handler to play off of and someone who will draw significantly more attention in the backcourt. It’s hard to take too much from Hayes’ rookie season, but the NBA has never been a particularly patient place. The reality of today’s NBA is that moment they took Cunningham, the clock had already begun on the Pistons needing to build a winner around him.

What Hayes is as an NBA point guard remains to be seen, but hopefully he can find a rhythm now that he’s healthy and prove himself as a worthy member of the Pistons young core. If so, Detroit can feel more comfortable at point guard and start looking into the next phase of rebuilding, which is seeking out young veteran talent to fill in the gaps, on top of what figures to be a high draft pick again. If not, then point guard will remain a position of need and it figures to be another summer spent mostly in asset and rookie talent acquisition mode, as they try to piece together a group around Cunningham that can grow together into, hopefully, an eventual playoff contender.

Dwayne Johnson Introduces Viewers To His Fearsome Anti-Hero In The First Clip From ‘Black Adam’

This weekend is all about DC FanDome, where the comic book label’s cinematic wing gets to show off their forthcoming wares. The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravtiz as Catwoman, is scheduled to bow its first trailer. The next Aquaman showed off a behind-the-scenes video. And then there’s Black Adam, in which Dwayne Johnson goes back to playing bad for the first time since he debuted the Scorpion King in The Mummy Returns. (That is, unless you count his doofus murderer in Michael Bay’s Pain & Gain.)

The movie, due on July 29, is still in post-production, but Johnson was there to introduce what he described as “one of its opening scenes,” which introduces his fearsome antihero. He’s one of DC’s most notorious supervillains, and at some point he’ll do battle with Zachary Levi’s Shazam. And if the brief clip, only about a minute long, is any indication, he’s in a lot of trouble.

You barely catch a glimpse of Johnson’s face, which is cloaked in shadow and obscured by a hoodie. But you see enough of him having his way with the team that’s happened upon him in a secret lair of some sort that he more than makes an impression. In his introduction, Johnson reminds viewers that this has long been a “passion project” of his, and that he “was born to play Black Adam.” That said, if you ever happen upon Johnson, it’s probably not a great idea to piss him off, lest he do what he does in the above clip.
