Watch Taylor Swift Perform The New Ten-Minute Version Of ‘All Too Well’ On ‘SNL’

It’s almost hard to know where to start with Red (Taylor’s Version), as fans have been flocking to the new iteration of the album. This new version already broke two Spotify records in a single day, and the reaction to her new, ten-minute version of “All Too Well”along with accompanying short film — has been nothing short of astonishing. Red is long regarded to be the pinnacle of Taylor’s discography (and her only true breakup album), fans have loved watching her embrace the album the way they always have, including her attention to what amounts to the best song in her catalogue.

So when she hinted that she was going to be performing the full ten-minute iteration of the song for her Saturday Night Live appearance in support of the album, everyone went a little crazy. And true to her (hinted) word as always, that’s exactly what Taylor did for her first performance of the night. Because the song was ten minutes long, which, as she herself noted, is really the length of three songs, does that means this is the only song we’ll get from Taylor on the show tonight? I have a feeling it won’t be, but we’ll have to wait and see. Check out the live performance of the track above, with the film playing and a full winter and fall backdrop, and keep in mind, this song might also be the proudest moment of Swiftie collaborator Jack Antonoff. Awwww.

Watch Taylor Swift And Pete Davidson Rap Together For The ‘Three Sad Virgins’ Skit On ‘SNL’

Despite the fact thaht her first appearance on Saturday Night Live tonight was on the lengthier side, Taylor Swift still came back for more. Though she already debuted the new ten-minute version of “All Too Well” on the release day of her new Red (Taylor’s Version) album, the hinted-at SNL performance of the song was the one that most people were able to see — and it was nothing short of incredible. Always eager to keep her hungry fans happy, though, Taylor did show up for song number two later on in the show.

Well, sort of. No, it wasn’t to perform “Nothing New” her new collaboration with Phoebe Bridgers — who made headlines when she smashed a guitar during her own SNL appearance a few months ago — but another well known SNL personality instead. Taylor showed up in a skit entitled “Three Sad Virgins” to help Pete Davidson roast Ben Marshall, John Higgins, Martin Herlihy, aka members of the sketch comedy group Please Don’t Destroy. First, Pete kicks off the music video by repeatedly mocking the boys, including within a Dune-set packed with sand, and right when they’re finally insisting he stop, Taylor shows up to roast them even further. But there’s nothing like getting your handed to you by Taylor Swift. Check out the sketch up top. Come for the Pete Davidson/Taylor Swift collab, stay to see them rapping the end of the song together.

Taylor Swift’s New Version Of ‘Red’ Broke Not One But Two Spotify Records In Just One Day

So far so good when it comes to Taylor Swift re-releasing newly recorded versions of her old albums. Actually, so far so great. Though she already completed a re-recording of one of her earliest albums, Fearless, earlier this year, this past week she also released a brand new version of Red, a record long considered to be her best. The album is definitely a fan-favorite, and with new additions like songs Taylor previously gave to other artists, “Babe” and “Better Man,” a collaboration with Phoebe Bridgers (!), a country duet with Chris Stapleton, and an extended, ten-minute version of what many consider to be her best song, “All Too Well,” Red (Taylor’s Version) is packed with reasons to repeat listen.

And apparently, that’s all fans did all day Friday and Saturday. Barely 24 hours after the new version came out, Spotify already announced that Taylor had broken two records for their listening service. According to Variety, the new Red (Taylor’s Version) broke the record for the most-streamed album in a day by a female in Spotify history with over 90.8 million streams in its first 24 hours. She also ended up breaking the record for the most-streamed female in a single day in Spotify with over 122.9 million streams on Friday.

Congratulations Taylor, looks like Taylor’s Version is the new normal for Swifties. Check out the brand new film that debuted along with “All Too Well” up top, too.

Ben Roethlisberger Will Miss Steelers-Lions After Getting Placed On The Reserve/COVID-19 List

The Pittsburgh Steelers will have to take on the Detroit Lions without the services of their starting quarterback. In a bit of news that was announced on Saturday evening, Ben Roethlisberger will miss Sunday’s game at Heinz Field after it was revealed that he was placed on the NFL’s reserve/COVID-19 list.

This season, Roethlisberger has been solid yet unremarkable, as Father Time has caught up to the 39-year-old in a number of noticeable ways. Still, Pittsburgh has managed to go 5-3, including four wins in a row, and if they can beat the Lions on Sunday, they’ll move into a tie for first place in their division with the Baltimore Ravens. Roethlisberger has completed 196 of his 299 pass attempts this season — a 65.6 percent clip — for 1,986 yards, 10 touchdowns, and four interceptions.

In Roethlisberger’s place, the Steelers will turn to Mason Rudolph, who started eight games two seasons ago after the team’s longtime starting signal caller had season-ending elbow surgery. The team went 5-3 in 2019 with Rudolph under center during, and he has yet to appear in a game this year. The only other quarterback on the roster is Joshua Dobbs, who likewise hasn’t taken the field this year.

Sunday’s game between the Steelers and Lions is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. EST.

Texas Tech Upset Iowa State Thanks To A Walk-Off 62-Yard Field Goal

The Texas Tech Red Raiders were 10.5-point home underdogs against Iowa State on Saturday night. Despite giving up a fourth quarter lead, they managed to get the job done, 41-38, thanks to one of the craziest field goals you will ever see.

The Red Raiders went up by 10 with just under 11 minutes left in the game, but the lead they built up wasn’t quite enough. Iowa State managed to score on their ensuing drive, force a three and out, and get the ball back with enough time to get into field goal range. Their kicker, Andrew Mevis, hit a 29-yard boot with a minute left to tie things up at 38.

And then, Tech made magic happen. They got the ball down to Iowa State’s 44 and, for some reason, figured that it would be better to kick a 62-yard field goal instead of trying for a hail mary. And by god, it worked, as Jonathan Garibay lined it up and kicked the ball real hard. While it was from Justin Tucker distance, there was never a doubt from the moment it left his foot.

You will be shocked to know that no one on Texas Tech’s radio broadcast could comprehend that this happened.

One of the best kickers in America, Garibay’s career-long was 48 yards. Here’s to hoping he gets to keep trying increasingly longer and longer field goals now that we know he has this kind of leg.

Look At How Happy Adam Sandler And Anthony Edwards Were To Meet Each Other

The Minnesota Timberwolves walked into Staples Center and throttled the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night, 107-83. While Anthony Davis spoke at length after the game about how the Lakers are not playing up to a championship-level standard, an Anthony on the other team seemed like he had a pretty good night.

While Anthony Edwards didn’t put up huge numbers — nine points on 4-for-11 shooting, three rebounds, one assist, and a steal — he got to meet a pretty big fan before things tipped off. During the Timberwolves’ pregame shootaround, Adam Sandler called over Malik Beasley and made clear that he wanted to meet Minnesota’s second-year wing.

Beasley obliged Sandler, called Edwards over, and then, we got a frontrunner for the top dudes rock moment of the 2021-22 NBA season.

Both guys were just so delighted to meet each other, and while Edwards always seems to be in an excellent mood, the smile on his face was a little bigger than usual over getting to meet one of the top hoopers in all of Hollywood. Hopefully the next time these two run into one another, it’s during one of those offseason runs that feature a bunch of NBA players and also Billy Madison.

Arctic Monkeys Confirm Their Upcoming Album Is ‘Pretty Much’ Finished And Arriving In 2022

We’re about three and a half years removed from the last album Arctic Monkeys delivered to the world. Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino arrived in the spring of 2018 and became their second consecutive project to crack the top ten of the Billboard albums chart as well as their third overall. Now, Arctic Monkeys is gearing up to release their seventh album and it’s a project that could arrive sooner than later. Drummer Matt Helders appeared on 5 Live Breakfast earlier this week and during his appearance, he was asked if the band’s next album is “ready to go.”

“Yeah, pretty much, yeah,” Helders replied. “It was a bit disjointed how we had to do it, and there are bits to finish off, but yeah, it’s all in the works.” He added that he’s confident the album will arrive at some point in 2022. “I think by the time we get everything together it’ll be next year,” he said. “Hopefully we can get out and tour next summer.” Helders then spoke about the sound future listeners can expect to hear on their seventh album.

“We tend to always move it on a little bit,” Helders said. “For us, because we’re so involved in it, it always makes sense. They always kind of pick up where the other one left off in a way. It makes sense when you think about it in the context of the last record. But we always do try and do something a bit different – it’s kind of hard to describe. You can tell it’s the same band.”

Brass Against Issued An Apology After Their Lead Vocalist Urinated On A Fan During A Festival Set

There are plenty of odd moments that have happened at recent musical festivals. An extreme example of this came Friday during Daytona Beach’s Rockville Festival. During Brass Against’s set, Lead vocalist Sophia Urista ended up urinating on a fan, leading to the band issuing an apology.

Let’s take it from the top: According to Stereogum, Urista mentions several times during the performance that she had to use the bathroom. Apparently, she could no longer it hold it in. So she opted for an unconventional method to relieve herself. “Get my man with the can on his head ready, ’cause we’re going to bring him onstage and I’ma piss in this motherf*cker’s mouth,” she said while Brass Against covered Rage The Machine’s “Wake Up.” “I gotta pee,” she said. “And I can’t make it to the bathroom. So we might as well make a show out of it.”

A volunteer from the crowd made his way to the stage and laid down. Sticking to her word, Urista urinated on the man in front of everyone.

“We’re still processing… this was profoundly unexpected,” Brass Against tweeted after the show. “We had a great time last night at Welcome To Rockville. Sophia got carried away,” they added. “That’s not something the rest of us expected, and it’s not something you’ll see again at our shows. Thanks for bringing it last night, Daytona.”

Scroll up to watch the incident (at your own risk) and read the statement from the band.

Bill Maher Torched Facebook’s Pivot To Meta, Calling Mark Zuckerberg ‘The Most Socially Awkward Person In History’

Last month, Mark Zuckerberg responded to the avalanche of bad press Facebook, the company he co-founded, had received the only way he knew how: He rebranded. The company had come under fire for reportedly knowingly allowing abuse and misinformation to spread like wildfire across its service. The solution? Renaming the company Meta and promising to double down on its simulation of real life by creating an actual virtual world. The reviews have not been great, and one noted critic is Bill Maher.

The HBO host used part of Friday’s Real Time to tear into Zuckerberg and a move that’s not only his attempt to dodge accountability, but which could also make the real world an even worse place.

“Someone has to tell me why we keep allowing social media, and our very lives as social creatures, to be dictated by the most socially awkward person in history,” Maher cracked. He questioned the attractiveness of Meta’s proposition. “Why spend hours typing on Facebook arguing with your brother-in-law about Ivermectin, when your avatar can yell at his avatar in person?”

Maher said he’d dabbled in virtual reality before, but in the end thought weed was a better way to numb the pains of reality. “In the Metaverse, you can tour the pyramids or have a swordfight with a duck, all without having to leave the comfort of your parents’ basement,” he joked, adding that his own experiences with virtual reality were “like getting roofied by Walt Disney.”

He also wondered if people really wanted to have another excuse to not leave their homes. “We just went through a pandemic. The last thing I want is more virtual, and that’s what the metaverse sounds like it’s going to be — the pandemic year, except forever,” Maher told the crowd.

He continued:

“You have to ask yourself why does Mark Zuckerberg think living in a metaverse would be so much better? Because look at him: the dead eyes, the lack of recognizable human features, the painted-on hair — he’s already an avatar. I’m pretty sure that the person we think is Zuckerberg is a SIM, while the real one lives on a yacht staffed by a hundred beautiful women where he plays Pokémon GO all day. This is the worst kind of person to make the overlord of a new universe.”

Maher also argued that it’s not healthy for young men — who already aren’t having as much as sex as their counterparts 10 years ago — to have another excuse to avoid human contact:

“It’s not harmless. It never is when any society for any reason creates men who are cut off from women, and it’s not going well here with the incels,” Maher said. “It’s become a toxic subculture of angry, misogynistic, digital eunuchs, and the metaverse is only going to make it meta-worse, because it’s a vicious cycle. The more time you spend in the digital world, the more you suck at engaging in the real world, so the more your retreat into the virtual, which further atrophies your real social skills, including and most importantly getting laid.”

So your options are: go out into the real real world and score or sit in a chair with a headstrap and watch a concert sitting next to a giraffe. But at the very least we’re almost certainly getting a sequel to The Social Network.

You can watch Maher’s segment in the video above.
