Chris Cuomo Reportedly Made A Sketchy Attempt To Quiet The Person Who Accused Him Of Sexual Misconduct

When Chris Cuomo was fired from his CNN gig in December, the journalist’s unethical attempts to aid his also embattled brother weren’t the only issue he faced. He’d also been accused of sexual misconduct. Details about the latter have been kept out of the public eye, but now we’re learning that he reportedly made sketchy attempts to silence his accuser.

A new piece by The New York Times (in a bit teased out by The Wrap) reveals more about the incident, which occurred in 2011, involving an anonymous woman who had worked with Cuomo at ABC News. Cuomo had invited the young woman, a temp hoping for a full-time job, to lunch, during which he promised career advice. When she arrived, she found no food. Instead, Cuomo allegedly assaulted her.

Years later, at the height of the #MeToo movement, when figures like Charlie Rose and Matt Lauer were being belatedly punished for their alleged actions, Cuomo rang her up out of the blue:

Mr. Cuomo proposed arranging a CNN segment about the company where she worked doing public relations. The woman tried to avoid any contact with Mr. Cuomo, but CNN ultimately broadcast a segment anyway.

“After years without any substantive communication from Mr. Cuomo whatsoever, Ms. Doe suspected he was concerned about her coming forward publicly with her allegations and wanted to use the proposed segment as an opportunity to ‘test the waters’ and discourage her from going on the record about his sexual misconduct,” Ms. Katz wrote.

This story was recounted in a letter sent by a lawyer representing the woman Cuomo had alleged assaulted to CNN. It arrived less than 24 hours after Jeff Zucker, who up till recently was the president of the network, had effectively assured Cuomo that he’d be back on air after having been suspended for not disclosing how closely he’d aided his brother, disgraced New York governor Andrew Cuomo, against his own allegations of sexual misconduct.

The letter described Cuomo’s actions as an “abuse of power at CNN to attempt to silence my client.” The article goes on to explain how this set of a chain reaction that led to Zucker’s own ouster from the network.

When Is HBO’s ‘Barry’ Returning For Season Three?

After waiting for nearly three years, HBO’s fan-favorite dark comedy Barry will finally return for its third season on April 24th, show co-creators Alec Berg and Bill Hader confirmed during a TCA appearance. “Season three, more than anything, shows the ramifications of [Barry’s violence],” Hader told critics at the Television Critics Association. “Even more bad things happen. Mostly bad.”

The series, starring Saturday Night Live alum Hader, began airing in 2018 and became an instant favorite. Hader stars as an aspiring actor/literal assassin, alongside Henry Winkler, Sarah Goldberg, Stephen Root, and Anthony Carrigan.

According to HBO’s official synopsis: “While Barry has eliminated many of the external factors that pushed him towards violence, he soon discovers they weren’t the only forces at play. What is it about his own psyche that led him to become a killer in the first place? Season 3 finds Barry and the other characters trying to make the right choice.”

Season three will be comprised of eight episodes airing on HBO and will also be available on HBO Max.

Last year, Hader confirmed that season three was in the works, and that a fourth season was already written, meaning we could spend at least a few more years with Barry Block, if HBO chooses to renew the series again. The show has been awarded numerous accolades, including Emmys for both Hader and Winkler, plus nominations for Goldberg, Root and Carrigan. Overall, the series has a whopping 30 Emmy nominations.

Trey Songz Was Reportedly Sued For $20 Million By A Woman Who Claimed He Raped Her

Trey Songz finds himself in legal trouble once again after a woman reportedly sued him for $20 million after she claims the singer raped her. The alleged incident occurred on March 24, 2016 with a woman who was identified in court documents as Jane Doe. According to the documents, which were obtained by TMZ, the woman claims that she was invited to a house party in Los Angeles where she was invited upstairs to have was she believed would be consensual sex. Instead, Trey repeatedly asked her if he could “get that ass” to which she repeatedly said “no.”

The woman claims that Trey’s behavior changed once they got into the bedroom, where he allegedly threw her to the ground, ripped her pants off, pinned her face-first to the floor, and anally rapped her. She says she tried to fight him off but he overpowered her. She also claims that someone walked into the room, and while she hoped this would cause the “brutal rape” to end, the individual quickly exited the room and Trey continued his assault.

According to the documents, the woman was only able to leave once Trey finished. She grabbed her clothes, except for her underwear, and ran outside to her Uber. During the ride, the Uber driver noticed she was in distress and reportedly took her to a hospital, where the police were called and a sexual assault exam was performed. The exam showed “severe anal tearing that could require surgery.” However, she said she did not mention Trey’s name to the police because she was “in shock and fearing for her life.”

The woman is seeking $20 million in damages. Her lawyer, Ariel Mitchell, is representing two other women who have also accused Trey of sexual assault, one in New York and another in Miami. In November, Trey was hit with a lawsuit for sexual assault in Las Vegas,. Last month, he was accused of rape by former UNLV basketball player Dylan Gonzalez.

Marcus Smart Exited The Celtics’ Matchup Against The Sixers With An Ankle Injury

The Boston Celtics are rolling right now, winning eight consecutive games to move into the top six in the Eastern Conference. Defense has been at the forefront for the Celtics all season and, while there is plenty of credit to go around, veteran guard Marcus Smart is a key piece of the team’s resistance. On Tuesday, the Celtics appeared to be well on their way to a ninth straight win, building a 24-point lead late in the first half against the Philadelphia 76ers. Unfortunately, the positive vibes were quelled when Smart went down in visible pain and holding his right ankle.

The video shows that Smart was immediately in agony, and it didn’t take long for the Celtics to indicate that he would not return to the game with what the team is calling a right ankle sprain.

Smart will almost certainly receive additional evaluation in the coming hours, and hopefully the injury is not one that will sideline him long-term. The Celtics moved to acquire Derrick White from the San Antonio Spurs before the trade deadline, and that move gives Boston some insurance in the form of a strong defender and ball-handler at the point of attack. Still, the team’s vision includes both Smart and White, and Boston would certainly be weakened if Smart had to miss any extended period of time.

Roddy Ricch Says ‘Live Life Fast’ Would’ve Sold More Copies If It Was Released At An Earlier Date

Back in December, Roddy Ricch released his long-awaited second album, Live Life Fast, featuring Future, Kodak Black, 21 Savage, Ty Dolla Sign, Gunna, and more. Alas, listeners were not too impressed with it, only debuting at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 — an underwhelming release, especially when compared to his debut album Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial which spent multiple weeks at No. 1.

During a recent interview with DJ Akademiks, Roddy Ricch responded to the criticism behind the album and said it would’ve performed better if it dropped closer to when its lead single, “Late At Night,” was released. “That song was such a crazy song that people caught on two to three months later,” Roddy said. “If I would have dropped an album within that [time frame] and did whatever I did, I would have dropped and I would have been 180k up.” Roddy also said that he isn’t letting the negative criticism get to him.

“Just because the numbers didn’t align up or the timing or the plan didn’t really fall the way it was supposed to fall, now ni***s got this different narrative of how they wanna play it, but I know what’s going on,” he said. “That sh*t is cool, they can play it however they wanna play it, but I still know I’m an earner.”

Basketball Fans Couldn’t Get Over James Harden’s ‘Peasuit’ During His First Game With The Sixers

James Harden’s trade to the Philadelphia 76ers is all done and dusted, and now, the former league MVP gets the thing that he’s apparently wanted for more than a year. Harden’s trade from the Brooklyn Nets wasn’t exactly the most amicable of splits, but ultimately, both teams got better — Brooklyn got a package of picks and players, most notably Ben Simmons — while the Sixers got the sort of standout perimeter player Joel Embiid has never had in his NBA career.

While Harden isn’t going to play for a minute as he continues to come back from a hamstring injury that Tracy McGrady doesn’t think is real, he was in attendance for Philly’s game against the Boston Celtics. He even got to do the team’s pregame honor of ringing a mini Liberty Bell at mid-court as the fans at the Wells Fargo Center cheered on.

You might notice that Harden’s wearing something a little unique, as he is wont to do. In fact, it was so out of left field that it led to Basketball Twitter getting off a bunch of jokes about the whole thing. The NBA on TNT crew for Tuesday night’s slate of action couldn’t help but make fun of the outfit, even when Dwyane Wade tried his best to explain what exactly was going on here.

“That’s a peacoat and a suit connected,” Wade said. “That’s a peasuit.”

They weren’t the only ones to have fun with this.

Someone changed ‘Titanic’ so it’s starring a cat as Rose. Get this person an Oscar.

While others debate over which movies are getting snubbed for the Oscars, let’s take a moment to bask in the true genius of filmmaking that should really be the talk of Tinsel Town.

If you haven’t stumbled across OwlKitty yet, here’s the lowdown:

OwlKitty is a 2-year-old cat in Portland, Oregon, who replaces the starring roles in beloved movies and television shows, in exchange for lots of treats and cuddles, according to her bio. OwlKitty’s real name is Lizzy, but everybody knows that all the great actresses have stage personas.

OwlKitty’s purrodies include pop culture standouts like “Star Wars,” “Harry Potter,” “Stranger Things,” “Avengers: Endgame,” and even a Billie Eillish music video. The editing on these things is so seamless, it’s nothing short of wizardry. Which makes sense, considering one of OwlKitty’s owners, Tibo Charroppin, is a professional filmmaker.

The latest film to undergo an OwlKitty reboot is “Titanic.” Only instead of Kate Winslet playing her iconic role of Rose, OwlKitty takes the lead. And shines like the furry star she is.

This faux trailer has all the quintessential Jack-and-Rose moments: the Irish spinny dancy thing, the “draw me like one of your French girls” scene, and yes … the door. OwlKitty clearly has no problem leaving Jack to freeze to death.

Kate Winslet actually does an appearance at the end, being utterly offended at Jack’s drawing of OwlKitty. Sorry, Rose. The heart wants what it wants.

OwlKitty might receive no nom this awards season, but when it comes to public consumption, her version of “Titanic” is sweeping all the viral categories. In only a few days, the video has already garnered 11 million views on Facebook alone.

Plus it received some truly lovely (and funny) comments from fans:

“I would gladly pay to see a 3 hours version of this.”

“I laughed out loud when they showed the cat’s face when they were dancing.”

“This is the first thing that’s made me laugh in days. Thank you.”

“This was AMAZINGLY put together. Please never stop making these! They make my day!!!”

“Now, this is the kind of deepfake I’m here for.”

Forget the critics, people love OwlKitty! Plus, according to the video, OwlKitty is already an Academy Award Winner anyway.

If you’re like me, nothing quite brings joy to the heart like cats and creativity. So OwlKitty definitely delivers a winning combination. When it comes to making audiences smile, this cat deserves all the awards.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I just found out that OwlKitty sells merchandise.

A dash of sweetness: Guy in San Francisco throws huge pancake party to make new friends

Nothing breaks down the hard walls we’ve built up during this pandemic quite like soft, buttery pancakes.

Curtis Kimball had been feeling one of COVID-19’s more insidious symptoms: loneliness. Friends had moved away and no new connections were presenting themselves. But still, the craving for connection persisted.

Kimball could tell his entire city was feeling the same. “San Francisco is in a bad way. The vibes here are all effed up,” he tweeted.

Figuring that everybody likes pancakes, or “at least the idea of pancakes,” Kimball decided to host his own flapjacks and friendship party (he didn’t actually call it that, but I wish he did) and he invited the entire neighborhood to join him.

Going for an old-school approach, Kimball posted whimsically odd fliers that read: “My wife said I’m getting weird. She says I need to make friends. So I’m making pancakes.”

Who could say no to that?

Kimball already has experience drawing in a crowd with his delicious food. His now closed Creme Brulee Cart was the sweet stuff of San Francisco eatery legend, having people lining the streets for his super decadent combinations. I mean, he served something called SF Gold, which was creamy custard topped with dark chocolate shortbread crumble and sea salt caramel. So when this guy offers you free pancakes, you take them.

Despite his former food fame, Kimball felt very vulnerable putting himself out there. He admitted to the TODAY show about being “nervous and self conscious,” telling himself that “this could be a really dumb idea and everyone might hate it.” But as soon as the party started, Kimball’s neighbors who lived two doors down came, and “were very excited.”

That was only the beginning. The party totaled out to more than 75 people, of all generations and backgrounds, a “mix of wonder and joy and people hungry to connect,” Kimball told TODAY.

The more people came, the more joy Kimball felt.

He tells San Francisco Eater that serving food in a nonprofessional atmosphere was even more rewarding than owning his business. “The vibes were so good that going back to foodie vibes feels bad. Customers come with expectation of themselves as critics rather than just enjoyers.” He even reflected that rather than cooking, maybe bringing people together was his real calling. He’s certainly a natural at it.

By the way, round 2 was even better.

On Feb 12, Kimball followed the same winning strategy: fliers + pancakes. This time, 300 people showed up, thanks in part to Kimball’s previous pancake party going viral and making several headlines.

“The joy, the laughter, the gratitude, the kindness was all overwhelming (as was the smell of pancakes),” he tweeted. “Not to be a softy, but I got a little misty a few times as every person thanked me for what to them felt like the perfect antidote at the perfect time after a rough 2 years.”

Now Kimball dreams of “people all across the country hosting Saturday morning pancake parties for their friends and neighbors.”

For Kimball, this fun, creative thing he discovered is actually vital. “I think it’s important because most of our public spaces are dominated by the big arguments over our differences as people,” he told TODAY. “And those things are important. But what feels lost and might be equally important is celebrating each other and our commonalities. We need more chances, as people, to root for each other and to believe in each other as humans.”

Perhaps he is onto something here. Our souls have been left unnourished and starving. Because of the pandemic, political division, technology … the new normal. But all it takes is one one thing, one simple thing, to shift perspectives and feed that innermost part of ourselves.

Feeling good and connecting with others is the sweet stuff of life. And we should savor every bite of it.

Dad demonstrates how to calm a crying baby in 18 seconds flat

Anyone who’s had a baby knows how the sound of crying can feel like torture. Literally.

If you’re lucky, you get a baby who rarely cries, but some babies spend weeks or months being screechy, colicky little fussbuckets whose unbearable cuteness is the only thing that keeps you from throwing them out the window. (If you haven’t had one of those babies, that may sound horrifying, but if you know, you know.)

Sometimes babies cry because they’re hungry, which is a problem easily fixed. Sometimes babies cry because their diaper is soiled—also an easy fix. Sometimes babies cry because they are clearly overtired—easy to fix on paper, but not always so simple in practice. Still, you at least know what’s bugging them.

But sometimes babies cry and you can’t figure out why. It might be gas, but they can’t say, “My tummy hurts.” Maybe they want to be held or cuddled, but not like that. Nope, not like that. Not like that, either. Perhaps they see all these big humans doing things they can’t do and they’re just mad about being a helpless baby. Who knows?

With fussy babies, the traditional “feed them, change them, rock them” advice often doesn’t make a dent. The crying can make you feel like you’re losing your mind, so if someone figures out a trick to get them to stop—even for a while—it feels like a godsend.

That’s one reason this video of a dad demonstrating how he gets his baby to stop crying in 18 seconds flat has gone viral.

In a TikTok video, Jonathan, aka “Tuque Daddy,” shows how he holds his 2-month-old son with one hand and wraps his little arms across his body in a “self hug” with the other. Then he holds one hand over the baby’s arms and torso and the other cradling him under the diaper. A little gentle bobbing in this position and voila! Baby stops crying in 18 seconds.

Watch the magic happen (and just ignore the rogue “8” that gets stuck on the screen):

@tuquedaddy

Reply to @king.marcellius I wanna see people try!! Duet this and try if you can!! I wanna see y’all super heroes 🥰🥰🥰 #tuquedaddy #fypシ #parenting

See how even just a few seconds of that crying sends an electric jolt down your spine? It was enough for some commenters to say “Maybe I need to rethink wanting a baby.” (My 13-year-old son came into the room while I was watching the video and said, “That’s so annoying. How did you have babies?” Yep, that was you, dude. You’re welcome. After the second viewing, he actually said, “Wow. Sorry.”)

But then the unbearable cuteness comes in, doesn’t it? Gracious, that little one’s face at the end. It’s amazing how quickly babies can take us from “Arrrrgh” to “Awwww.”

And this daddy’s gentle patience and reassurance is a beautiful cherry on top. “You alright, my boy?” So dang sweet.

Speaking of sweetness (and unbearable cuteness), check out Tuque Daddy’s convo with his boy in another video:

And as for the way he calmed the baby down? That’s a legitimate technique that a “magician pediatrician” in Santa Monica, California shows the parents of his patients. Dr. Robert Hamilton has been treating babies and kids for more than three decades. His video describing “the hold” has been viewed more than 53 million times on YouTube and he has been featured in videos all around the world for his ability to almost instantly calm babies down.

If you have a baby in your life, give “the hold” a try the next time they’re crying and see if the magic happens for you.

The Game Believes He Should’ve Been Invited To Perform At The Super Bowl Halftime Show

In addition to helping jumpstart the careers of Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, and Kendrick Lamar, who all performed at the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show, Dr. Dre also helped out The Game. The Compton rapper signed to Dre’s label Aftermath in 2003 and released his classic debut album The Documentary in 2005. Despite departing from the label before releasing his second album Doctor’s Advocate, The Game has maintained his love for Dre over the years. Indeed, he hoped their relationship would have earned him an invite to perform on stage at the Super Bowl.

Unfortunately, that was not the case, as the spectacular performance only featured Dre, Anderson .Paak, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar. As a result, The Game took to Instagram to share his feelings about being left out, resharing a few Instagram Story posts from fans who felt the same.

“FYI: @losangelesconfidential Should’ve been on stage at the Super Bowl I’ll be the first to say it,” one person wrote. The Game reshared the post, adding, “Sh*t brazy fr.” Another person wrote, “@Losangelesconfidential should have performed at Super Bowl with @DrDre I mean this is LA,” and a third wrote, “I believe Big Brother Jay @losangelesconfidential Should’ve been in the half time show too.” They added, “Oh and just wait till DRILLMATIC DROPS.” Drillmatic is the title of The Game’s upcoming tenth album.

You can view The Game’s posts about the Super Bowl Halftime Show above.
