Green Day And Stevie Nicks Will Headline The Tubular Sea.Hear.Now Festival Lineup

The Sea.Hear.Now festival, created by famed music photographer Danny Clinch, is returning to the shores of Asbury Park, New Jersey with a radical lineup of music and surf. The two-day fest takes place at North Beach Asbury Park and Bradley Park from September 17th to 18th, a stone’s throw from Clinch’s (and arguably his most famous subject, Bruce Springsteen’s) backyard. Green Day and Stevie Nicks are topping the bill, and it gets super interesting from there.

Sea.Hear.Now has always been known for legacy and folk acts, but the 2022 edition sees a more expansive slate that also features My Morning Jacket, Cage The Elephant, and Courtney Barnett on stage. It’s a relatively intimate affair with upwards of 25 acts across three stages and the lineup also features Gary Clark Jr., The Head And The Heart, Tai Verdes, Billy Strings, Aly & AJ, and more.

The two-day North Beach Expressions Sessions surf competition will feature pros on teams captained by surfers Cory Lopez and Sam Hammer. Clinch’s Transparent Gallery of music photography will once again be on site for an all-encompassing affair that benefits the Wooden Walls Project.

Tickets for Sea.Hear.Now go on-sale 3/9 at 9 a.m. ET here.

Olivia Rodrigo Has A Reduced Role In The ‘High School Musical’ TV Show’s New Season

Before “Drivers License” kicked off Olivia Rodrigo’s new life as a world-renowned music superstar, her main line of work was acting in the Disney+ show High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. She was one of the show’s stars for its first two seasons, but based on news about the upcoming third season, she may be starting to ease out of the program.

ET reports that while Joshua Bassett, Matt Cornett, Sofia Wylie, Julia Lester, Dara Renee, and Frankie Rodriguez are returning as series regulars, Rodrigo will have just a recurring status for the new season (as will Kate Reinders and Olivia Rose Keegan). Additionally, Ben Stillwell, Aria Brooks, and Liamani Segur are being added to the cast.

For fans craving every possible bit of Rodrigo music, the High School Musical show has been a good resource for more. Last season, she and Bassett had a duet and Rodrigo also dropped an emotional ballad, “The Rose Song.”

Meanwhile, Rodrigo is getting to work on her second album. She recently told Rolling Stone of her upcoming Driving Home 2 U documentary/concert film, “It felt like a closing chapter for me. I’m so, so excited to put out new music and to create the next set of worlds.”

Trump’s Compliments Sure Sound Like Insults, Especially When They’re About Bill Barr’s ‘Saggy’ Jowls

Tuesday saw the release of yet another tell-all from inside the Trump administration. In Bill Barr’s book, One Damn Thing After Another: Memoirs of an Attorney General, the former-attorney general wrote about how he believes Rudy Giuliani is the reason Trump was impeached “not once, but twice” and how he would have crawled “over broken glass” to vote for Trump over Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. He also discussed the ex-president’s habit of taking meetings in the White House while watching Fox News.

He wrote that Trump “watched Fox News religiously and would sometimes call to make sure I saw a particular segment.”

“The presdient was always prompt in giving me immediate visual feedback when I appeared on TV,” said Barr noting one “amusing conversation” about his weight after he made a self-deprecating remark about his “jowliness” on television.

Trump’s response to Barr’s jest about himself: “You’re fine, you’re fine. Yeah, you’re big. But you carry it well. Whatever you do, don’t lose too much weight. Because then your face is going to sag. You’re lucky because your face, I mean your cheeks — they’re filled out. They look smooth and young. But I guarantee you, if you lose a lot of weight, you’ll look old and saggy.” Get yourself a hype man like Donald Trump.

Kanye West’s Surreal ‘Hurricane’ Video Is Full Of Striking Imagery

At least Kanye West’s new video for “Hurricane” is better than the one he temporarily put out for “Eazy.” Continuing his theme of using deconstructed, surrealistic imagery, the animated video uses CGI to depict a few striking visuals, chiefly among them a tableau of a fortress resting near a body of water atop what looks like a chessboard with a dragon attached the underside, which sets the stage for a jailbreak of faceless figures who rush into the sea for something resembling a religious revival.

The whole thing certainly builds on the visual motifs that have come to define Kanye’s Donda era, which has seen him obfuscate his identity with a series of full-face masks. He seems to be making a commentary on how the public perception of art subsumes the artist; he’s made other allusions to feeling like he’s being silenced — despite, y’know, being one of the most successful artists in the world who can reasonably get away with charging fans $200 for an album on a Raspberry Pi — and having his true self overshadowed by gossip and fans’ projections about him (which, sorry, has been driven largely by his own antics).

Despite the source, Kanye’s messaging doesn’t feel too off-the-mark, and the imagery that pervades the “Hurricane” video — including the suggestiveness of the dragon appearing to be the source of the light his faceless jailbreakers can’t help but be drawn to — gives viewers something to think about. “Jesus Walks” it isn’t, but it’s still a visual feast for fans who haven’t yet given up on the idea that Mr. West is an artistic genius. Watch the video for “Hurricane” above.

‘Jeopardy!’ Co-Host Mayim Bialik’s Directorial Debut Has Unveiled A Drama-Filled Trailer Starring Dustin Hoffman

Mayim Bialik’s career is experiencing something of a (sorry in advance) big bang. And TMZ’s report from last year about how Mayim was Sony’s first full-time Jeopardy! hosting pick (before the Mike Richards fiasco), but was too busy to take the job, is starting to make a whole lot of sense. Not only does she star in Call Me Kat, but Mayim stepped into the director’s seat, too.

Although Bialik is, in fact, now the Jeopardy! host for prime-time showcases (while sharing co-host duties with Ken Jennings, at least for the time being), the former Blossom star’s first directorial debut is upon us. As They Made Us stars Dustin Hoffman and Candice Bergen as the parents of Dianna Agron’s character, Abigail, and there’s a ton of family drama. Dustin’s character’s suffering severe health problems. Basically, Abigail is of the sandwich generation:

As They Made Us follows Abigail (Agron), a divorced mother of two, struggling to balance the unstable forces within her dysfunctional family. Her father Eugene (Hoffman) has a degenerative condition that he and his wife Barbara (Bergen) refuse to accept, and her brother Nathan (Helberg) has been estranged from the family for years. A self-appointed fixer, the film follows Abigail as she attempts to mend her complicated family’s dynamic before it’s too late.

In addition, Mayim recruited a former Big Bang Theory actor, Simon Helberg (who played Howard Wolowitz), for a script that she wrote. And over at Jeopardy!, she’s more than suggested her willingness to accept the full-time hosting job, should it come her way (again), but Jennings is still going strong, so who knows how that will all play out in the future. Mayim’s a busy lady for sure.

As They Made Us will debut on April 8 in theaters and on VOD.

Christopher Meloni Mocked Anti-Vaxx Former Child Star Ricky Schroder’s Insistence That Americans ‘Get To Decide What Goes In And What Goes Out’ Of Our Bodies

Elliot Stabler has spoken.

Law & Order: Organized Crime star Christopher Meloni had a little fun with child star-turned-serial-a**shole Ricky Schroder, or at least had some fun at the Silver Spoons star’s expense. Over the weekend, Schroder—now looking more like Ted Kaczynski than the teen heartthrob he was in the ‘80s—posted a video from Washington, D.C.

As The Wrap reports, Schroder—parked outside the Capitol–was in D.C. as part of the “Freedom Convoy” protests, and shared some of his thoughts with his viewers (whoever they are) ahead of their arrival. And just what was he hoping to accomplish?

“We want freedom,” Schroder said. “Free. Our bodies are our own. We own this. You don’t. We get to decide what goes in and what goes out. Understood? It’s our bodies. Free the military from this experiment, too. God bless United States of America.”

Meloni seized upon Schroder’s own words to simply ask: “So…… pro abortion?”

Over the past couple of years, Schroder has found himself regularly making headlines for his vocal conservative stance that often leads to him behaving like a jackass—like when he mercilessly harassed a Costco employee over the retail giant’s mask policy and posted a video of it, then sort of apologized. Or when he helped to bail Kyle Rittenhouse out of jail… then called the police after being harassed about it on social media.

Dickie V Announces His Latest Scan Showed No Cancer: ‘My March Madness Starts With A W Baby!’

There are few people more synonymous with college basketball than Dick Vitale. The former coach turned longtime broadcaster for ESPN is the voice of college hoops to so many, calling legendary games and making his catchphrases like “diaper dandies,” “PTPers,” and “it’s awesome baby” part of the college basketball lexicon.

This season has missed Vitale’s presence as the legendary analyst battled cancer, who briefly returned to the sidelines in November for Gonzaga-UCLA in which he delivered an emotional pregame speech, but was forced to step away from games shortly after for the rest of the season. With March Madness arriving and conference tournaments underway, Vitale’s voice is notably absent, but he delivered some spectacular news on Tuesday afternoon. Dickie V posted to Twitter in jubilation to announce that his latest scan showed no cancer, saying “my March Madness starts with a W baby!”

It is terrific news and hopefully Vitale will be able to return to his beloved perch on the sidelines of the biggest college basketball games again next season. He has made clear how much he misses being at games and his year away has only served as a reminder for fans to appreciate his presence and joy for the game more. This is, truly, awesome baby.
