King Princess Asks For Patience On The New Single ‘For My Friends’

Currently, King Princess fans are waiting for news of a new album. Her most recent was her 2019 debut Cheap Queen and she’s released a good chunk of songs (perhaps meant for her next album) since then, including “Only Time Makes It Human,” “Pain,” “House Burn Down,” and January’s Fousheé collaboration “Little Bother.” Now she’s back with yet another new one, and this time, it’s “For My Friends.”

King Princess starts the song’s video in a downer of a mood before a couple friends come along to lift her out of it. From there, they head out and take to the city to share laughs and each other’s company, with a shenanigan and tiff or two for good measure. She sings on the chorus of the alt-pop tune, “Will you think about us as I’m leaving? / Think about us as I’m coming home / You hate it, but loving me takes patience / So we lose touch when I’m faded / And it can get dark but still, I know / You’re waiting / Loving me takes patience.”

Aside from the aforementioned songs, King Princess also recently collaborated on tracks with Oberhofer and MØ, Griff, and Sigrid. She also toured with Kacey Musgraves earlier this year and has a gig supporting Red Hot Chili Peppers this summer.

The TV Schedule For Saturday’s Second Round NCAA Men’s Tournament Games

The first day of the 2022 NCAA men’s basketball tournament featured some huge upsets, headlined by 15-seeded Saint Peter’s knocking off 2-seed Kentucky, and the stage is set for a fascinating second round on Saturday.

Joining Saint Peter’s in the second round from the first day of action are a pair of 12-seeds (Richmond and New Mexico State) and an 11-seed (Michigan). Somehow, all three 4-seeds advanced despite all of them being drawn out into deep waters by their 13-seeded opponents, while all three top-seeded teams cruised (although Gonzaga got scared for about 30 minutes by Georgia State before opening things up). There’s still another full day of first round action to come tomorrow, but as the calendar flipped to Friday morning and the final games were wrapping up, CBS and Turner Sports announced the full Saturday schedule of action on CBS, TNT, and TBS, with tip times and announce crews for the eight game slate.

12:10 p.m. (CBS): 8. North Carolina vs. 1. Baylor (Anderson/Jackson/LaForce)
2:40 p.m. (CBS): 9. Creighton vs. 1. Kansas (Anderson/Jackson/LaForce)

Fivio Foreign And Quavo Make It Rain Like It’s ‘Magic City’ On Their Swaggering Single

Fivio Foreign has established himself as one of the most popular names in hip-hop’s drill scene thanks to his ability to stay relevant since his breakout in 2019. Fivio arrived on the scene thanks to his summer 2019 hit “Big Drip” which rose to prominence with New York’s drill scene thanks to other records like Pop Smoke’s “Welcome To The Party” and “Dior.” Over the years, Fivio has released notable songs like “Headshot” with Lil Tjay and Polo G and “Zoo York” with Lil Tjay and Pop Smoke. One thing Fivio hasn’t done is release an album, but all of that is going to change next month with B.I.B.L.E.

Ahead of the project’s release, which was delayed from its original March 25 release date, Fivio teams up with Quavo for their new single “Magic City.” The track, which is named after the famed strip club in Atlanta, seems the rappers in a very confident state as they make it rain relentlessly at the club. It arrives as another strong offering from the album after Fivio connected with Kanye West and Alicia Keys for “City Of Gods” last month.

As for the delay behind B.I.B.L.E., Fivio explained his reason behind pushing the album back. “It ain’t really a reason or anything, I just wanted to make that sh*t perfect,” he said in a video posted to Instagram. I want it to be the perfect album. That sh*t is going to be viral.” He confirmed that the album would instead arrive on April 8.

Jan 6th Insurrectionist Whines: MAGA Rioters Are Treated ‘Worse’ Than Black Americans Under Jim Crow

Of the many brainless things MAGA rioter Brandon Fellows has done since January 6, 2021, forcing his way into the Capitol might actually not be at the top of the list. The Albany, New York resident, who entered the Capitol through a broken window then made his way to Sen. Jeff Merkley’s (D-OR) office—and smoke a joint—later decided to represent himself in court, and it hasn’t gone well for him.

In October 2021, while appearing in front of U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden to request permission to represent himself, Fellows accidentally ended up admitting to committing two additional felonies that he had not been charged with. His situation has only gotten worse from there.

As Raw Story reports, Fellows has filed a new motion—a whopping 32-page one—in which he made the bizarre decision to honor Black History Month in the most inappropriate way possible. As he wrote in the motion:

“I’d like to make this portion of my motion festive in light of black history month to show you how correlated our treatment really is, and of course concede on some clear differences. After all, not only does history tend to repeat itself, but few ever truely (sic) learn from it. It’s black history month, and there’s a lot to learn from it. I find these deprivations, discriminations, and unequal treatments to have strong correlations to what my black brothers suffered under the racist Democrats after the abolition of slavery, thanks to Republican Abraham Lincoln up until the Brown V. Board of Education decision, which the Democrats also hated.”

Had Fellows decided to end the conversation there—by comparing the situation of individuals who committed a federal crime by breaking into the Capitol building, destroying property, and leaving a body count in their wake to being Black in America under Jim Crow—it would have been bad enough. But oh no, he kept going:

“I’m not MLK, but I too speak out about these abuses from a Democratic, city-run jail in Washington D.C., just as MLK did from the Democratic city jail of Birmingham, Alabama. Even my black brothers in Montgomery were able to attend church, have clergy, attend school, go to a barber and see their families, even if they were segregated. Therefore, I argued to you that, as least in these areas, we have it worse than the black population did in 1950s Montgomery.”

Fellows’ motion went on to then contradict all of that by stating that:

“Regardless of where you stand I will concede to you the obvious, us white people, Trump supporters and even January 6th defendants AS A WHOLE do not have it as bad as our black brothers did under the Democrats of Montgomery in the 1950s. However, things are getting worse for us, especially in the past year with the selective hateful Democrats in charge, particularly in this city, and even more so in this cities jail.”

Normani Struggles To Accept A Relationship’s Conclusion On The Vulnerable ‘Fair’

Normani has had many false starts towards her debut album, but it seems like her long-awaited project could finally arrive this year — hopefully, that is. She’s spoken about the album on multiple occasions, including during a recent interview with Ciara. There, Normani confirmed the album is “almost done” and explained why it’s taken so long. “Coming out of a girl group, there was a lot that I had to figure out about myself and fears that I had to deal with head-on,” she said. “When you give your baby out to the world, which is our music, that’s the deepest part of me.”

While we’ll have to continue waiting for more on Normani’s debut album, we can enjoy a new single from her. She returns today with “Fair,” a vulnerable single that’s quite different from her previous release, “Wild Side” with Cardi B. On it, Normani struggles to pick up the pieces after a past relationship she was in comes to an end. “Is it fair that you moved on? / ‘Cause I swear that I haven’t,” she sings before later adding, “Hearts didn’t break down the middlе / Tell me how did that happen?”

Prior to the song’s release, Normani explained the inspiration behind her new single. “This song really captures me in one of my most vulnerable moments,” she said. “Sharing this record makes me uncomfortable because you have never really seen me in this light. Definitely aware that you might feel like you don’t know much about me but that’s only because it’s what makes me feel protected.”

You can press play on the new song in the video above.

Coi Leray And Nicki Minaj Fire Off Shots With No Regard On The Taunting ‘Blick Blick’

Coi Leray had a huge 2021 year. She kicked things off with her single “No More Parties” which went Platinum and peaked at No. 25 on the albums chart. She followed that up with “Big Purr (Prrdd)” alongside Pooh Shiesty, another record that entered the Billboard singles chart, this time peaking at No. 69. Additionally, she landed a spot on the 2021 XXL Freshman list alongside names like Blxst, 42 Dugg, Flo Milli, Rubi Rose, and more. The 2021 year came and went without a new album from Leray, but it looks like it could arrive this year. Until then, she’s back with a new single and features a very notable guest act.

Nicki Minaj stands beside Leray for their new song “Blick Blick.” It’s a record that the pair spent most of the last week teasing, and rightfully so. On the track, Leray and Minaj are a taunting duo that flexes their status and fires some shots at the competition, all without fear of being defeated at any point.

While “Blick Blick” arrived without delay, the song was almost released without Minaj’s verse. It came after Leray’s father Benzino leaked the news last month during a Clubhouse conversation. “I just felt bad that she was robbed of telling the world in her own way @ her own time,” Minaj said during a Twitter Q&A with fans. “But that’s water under the bridge now. Good vibes all 2022.” Prior to Minaj’s comments, Benzino apologized for his actions, saying, “I feel horrible and sad. I am 100 percent in the wrong and it will never happen again.”

Marco Rubio’s Daylight Saving Time Bill Apparently Passed The Senate Because No One Really Knew Anything About It (Or Cared)

On Tuesday, the news that the Senate had unanimously passed the Sunshine Protection Act, a bill to make Daylight Saving Time permanent, seemed to come out of nowhere. Though there were some rumblings in late 2021 about Marco Rubio and a few of his DST-hating cohorts working to follow through on the platform that Veep’s Jonah Ryan first introduced, there wasn’t much talk about it—including amongst the Senate itself.

“I was surprised that someone didn’t object,” Kyrsten Sinema, who announced the bill’s passing as Senate chair, told BuzzFeed News.

“Any single senator could have blocked the daylight saving bill from passing but many didn’t know it was even happening,” wrote BuzzFeed News politics reporter Paul McLeod. “Sen. Rick Scott, a permanent daylight saving time proponent who signed a similar bill into law when he was governor of Florida, said he would have gone to give a speech on the Senate floor if he had known. Asked to re-create his reaction to the news, Sen. Chris Coons issued a series of shocked stammers that is impossible to phonetically translate.”

While one source noted that Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton is a staunch advocate for the annoying habit of changing our clocks twice a year, yet “No comment” was his only response when asked whether he opposed the bill, and again when questioned why he did not object.

But Rubio asked for “unanimous consent,” which can be a bit of gamble, as it takes just one objection for the bill to be blocked. On the upside, it avoids having to spend any time debating a bill or voting on it. If no one objects, the bill is a go—which is exactly what happened.

While Mississippi senator Roger Wicker had planned to fight it, he ultimately decided that there were more pressing matters for him to address. “I chose not to stand in the way,” Wicker told BuzzFeed. “I’m more interested in fighting other battles.”

Still others, like Delaware senator Chris Coons, have no idea where they stand on the issue. “It’s literally an issue my staff and I had never discussed,” he said. “And they made an assumption that I don’t really care about Daylight Saving Time. And I don’t know if I do! I’ve never taken five minutes to stop and think about it.”

Don’t tell that to Jonah Ryan.

Report: John Collins Will Be Out Indefinitely With A Plantar Fascia Tear In His Right Foot

The Atlanta Hawks season has not gone according to plan, as they find themselves fighting to make the play-in tournament in the East just a season after making a run to the Eastern Conference Finals and bringing back pretty much the exact same squad.

With just 13 games to go in the season, the Hawks are 34-35, placing them in the 10th and final play-in spot (albeit with a comfortable 4.5 game edge on Washington), a half-game back of the Hornets for ninth. Inconsistent play, poor defense, and injuries have all combined to make this a disappointing season in Atlanta, and things are apparently only getting worse on the injury front. John Collins has missed 10 of the last 14 games for the Hawks with a finger injury and a foot strain, and will now be out indefinitely after learning he had a plantar fascia tear in that right foot.

Collins’ importance to the Hawks is tremendous, as their best frontcourt scorer and a key part of their defensive plan when he’s healthy and able to use his tremendous athleticism. While there’s no timetable given for Collins’ injury, one would think he’s likely done for the season given how few games are left on the schedule, which means Atlanta will likely face needing back-to-back wins in the play-in without their secondary star next to Trae Young.
