Kenan Thompson’s New ‘SNL’ Game Show Exposes The REAL Reason You Liked That Post On Instagram

Unless you’re only using Instagram to run your cat’s personal page or check out photos of your sister’s most recent family vacation, there’s really only one reason to Insta Like anything: the unlikely possibility that it might somehow, if one highly unlikely series of events were to play out exactly as imagined, lead to you getting some.

That’s the premise behind “Why’d You Like It?,” a new SNL game show that made its debut on Saturday night. Hosted by Kenan Thompson (who else?), the sketch put three unsuspecting contestants—including host Jake Gyllenhaal, Chloe Fineman, and Chris Redd—on the spot by digging into the real reasons they liked a couple of very specific photos on Instagram. Ultimately, the answer—spoiler alert!—is always the same: Sex.

That artwork posted by Megan Thee Stallion? Yep. A five-year-old photo of your ex’s sister standing in front of a random waterfall? Uh-huh. Hot chick posing with her new puppy? Get some!

“I guess some part of me thought that if I liked it she would see that I liked it and then she would follow me back and then we’d DM and then maybe at some point, I don’t know, she’d want to have sex with me,” the Ambulance star finally admits as unsuspecting contestant Brad. Ding ding ding!

Explaining why you follow Joe Biden, on the other hand, is a bit more complicated.

You can watch the full skit above.

Jack Harlow Performed His Not-So-Kid-Friendly Hits And Got Slimed At Nickelodeon’s Kid’s Choice Awards

Jack Harlow is slowly but surely emerging as one of the big new stars in hip-hop for 2022. Strategic moves like collaborating with Lil Nas X on the No. 1 hit “Industry Baby” and his latest viral single, “First Class,” which samples Fergie’s classic “G.L.A.M.O.R.O.U.S.” have him well on his way to superstardom. With his sophomore album slated to drop in just a few short weeksr oh and the “Nail Tech” in the meantime, Harlow is gaining the kind of momentum that every artist wants to have before an album release.

And tonight, he doubled down on that movement with an appearance at one of the hottest stages — Nickelodeon’s Kid’s Choice Awards. Now, before you want to knock the KCAs, keep in mind, most of the stars we know and love today did their time on the KCA circuit! Kids grow up to be cultural harbingers in just a few short years, so winning them over young can be a key factor for artists like Harlow who are still emerging.

Still, since most of Jack’s recent material is, ahem, fairly explicit, people had thoughts about him performing a medley of his very adult singles for an audience of children. As if that wasn’t enough, Harlow also had the infamous Nickelodeon slime dropped on him, which elicited even more reactions on Twitter. Needless to say, no matter what he does, he gets talked about. Check out a clip of his performance along with some commentary below.

Alexander Volkanovski Dominated Chan Sung Jung To Retain The Featherweight Title At UFC 273

Alexander Volkanovski (24-1) kept his winning streak alive, retaining the featherweight belt with a TKO victory over “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung (17-7) at UFC 273 from VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.

Volkanovski was composed early in the first, popping Jung with a tight counter left. Jung continued to charge forward and ate another combination that left him stunned for a moment. Volkanovski continued to chip away at Jung with quick jabs and heavy followups, with his speed on full display. Volkanovski dropped Jung twice at the end of the round, once with a left hook and again with a leg kick.

Volkanovski let his hands go again in the second, mixing it up with leg kicks and picking apart Jung. Volkanovski hurt Jung with a series of shots late in the round before taking him to the ground and pouring it on with ground-and-pound.

Jung was the one bringing the attack in the third, moving forward and trying to finally find his range. Volkanovski stood his ground, with counter strikes that kept Jung cautious. Volkanovski sat Jung down with a right hand before jumping on him and trying to finish him on the ground. Jung survived the round and the doctor asked him if he could continue between rounds.

Early in the fourth, Volkanovski stung Jung and left him swinging at air, causing Herb Dean to call the bout.

Volkanovski entered Saturday night on a tear, winning both of his title defenses after claiming the belt in a decision victory over Max Holloway and riding a 10-fight win streak. Jung’s lone loss over the last three years came at the hands of Volkanovski’s last title challenger, Brian Ortega, in a decision defeat.

Aljamain Sterling Earned A Decision Win Over Petr Yan To Retain The Bantamweight Title

After Petr Yan lost his bantamweight crown with an illegal knee strike last March, he aimed to settle the score with Aljamain Sterling Saturday night at UFC 273 from VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. Sterling (21-3) was having none of it, earning the undisputed belt the right way with a split-decision victory over Yan (16-3).

Sterling and Yan opened the fight with a feeling out process, exchanging the occasional strike and moving around the cage. Yan kept the pressure, walking Sterling around the cage and loading up on strikes. Sterling closed out the round with a big right hand before the buzzer.

Sterling was right back to work in round two with a slew of leg kicks while Yan kept the pressure on. Sterling continued to work his strikes, took Yan’s leg, and found his way into full mount and eventually took the interim champ’s back. Sterling rolled Yan and took control with ground-and-pound, with Yan somehow surviving the final three minutes of the round on his back.

Yan walked down Sterling again in the third, attacking with heavy kicks. Sterling went right back to the leg, taking Yan down and jumping his back yet again. Sterling simply held body control for the final three minutes, unable to make much movement toward a finish.

In the fourth, Yan came out with a big combination of strikes, sending Sterling retreating. Yan and Sterling exchanged strikes into a scramble, where Sterling went too high on Yan’s back and the challenger moved into full guard. Yan was able to hold position through the round.

The fifth and final round started with Sterling ending up on his back, but quickly returning to his feet. Sterling went for the takedown again, but was stuffed with Yan’s back against the cage. Yan got free, moving back to the center of the cage. Yan escaped scramble after scramble, with Sterling unable to get the takedown.

Sterling hadn’t competed since winning the belt over Yan, having had major neck surgery in 2021. Yan went on to earn a decision victory over Cory Sandhagen to claim the interim bantamweight belt in October before his chance to win his belt back, and made clear after the fight that he wants a third fight against Sterling.

Khamzat Chimaev Remains Unbeaten With A Decision Win Over Gilbert Burns At UFC 273

Khamzat Chimaev (11-0) survived one of the best fights of the year to knock off the No. 2 ranked welterweight Gilbert Burns (20-5) in a showdown of top contenders at UFC 273 from VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.

Chimaev backed Burns up against the cage right from the start, angling for a takedown and eventually shuffling the title contender to the ground. Chimaev allowed Burns back to his feet from the side of the Octagon, opting to stand and throw with his opponent. Burns landed a slew of significant strikes early, setting things up with hooks and jabs, followed by his big right hand.

A straight right hand sat Burns down and Chimaev tried to finish it on the ground, dropping hammer fists and elbows. Burns was able to withstand, getting back to his feet before the end of the round.

In round two, it was Burns the more aggressive, shooting for a takedown and looking for openings. Burns stung Chimaev with a big right hand, but his opponent kept coming forward. Burns clipped Chimaev with a big left, sending him backwards against the cage.

But Chimaev had no problem meeting Burns back in the center of the cage. Burns shot for a takedown, but Chimaev moved into full guard. Burns kicked him off and the two were back on their feet. The pace had clearly slowed for Chimaev as Burns began to chip away. At the end of the round, Burns sat Chimaev down, but Chimaev was able to earn the takedown and survive the end of the round.

Chimaev came out in the third looking refreshed, walking Burns down. Chimaev started to tee off midway through the round, but Burns locked up Chimaev to try to slow the pace. Burns found his second wind late in the round, chipping away at Chimaev with big lefts and rights. Chimaev continued to walk down Burns, stalking him around the cage, eating huge right hands from Burns before the close to round three.

Burns returned to the Octagon hoping to make it two wins in a row after dispatching Stephen Thompson with a decision victory in July last year. His decision to take the Chimaev bout was the most entertaining of the options out there following his knockout loss to welterweight king Kamaru Usman last February.

Chimaev entered Saturday night as one of the UFC’s quickest rising stars, making quick work of his last three opponents with first-round finishes.

With the win, Chimaev skyrockets up the rankings and could be in line for a future title shot. The risk for Burns resulted in a loss, but no one would be upset if we got to see these two enter the Octagon again for a rematch.

Jordan Poole Slipped On His Own Shooting Sleeve Like It Was A Banana Peel

Despite the fact that the team is still without the services of Steph Curry, the Golden State Warriors beat a pesky San Antonio Spurs team on Saturday night, 100-94. Jordan Poole did not shoot particularly well on the evening, but still was the Warriors’ co-leading scorer with 18 points to go with eight assists and six rebounds.

Poole was also responsible for one of the weirdest moments we’ve seen this season. With less than 30 seconds left in the game and the Warriors only up by four, Poole was picked up full-court by Tre Jones, who hounded him up the court and actually looked like he got a piece of the shooting sleeve worn by Golden State’s guard. Poole threw it to the ground, then moments later hit the deck, leading to Jones getting hit with a foul.

The whole thing seemed a bit weird, so Gregg Popovich called for a coach’s challenge, which he won. It turns out Poole was not fouled, but instead, after he threw his sleeve to the ground, the former University of Michigan standout slipped on it.

There really isn’t a whole lot to say about this one other than we’re glad Poole didn’t get hurt and congratulations to Jones for being able to defend without fouling.

Mariah Carey Has Never Won A VMA, And Even She Wonders Why: ‘MTV How Have I Offended Thee?”

Award shows like the Grammys and the VMAs are notoriously fickle, with every fandom vying for their own favorite star to win, even when losing might’ve been justified. But an exchange with a fan today led Mariah Carey down the road of wondering if she’d done something to hurt someone over at Viacom. After one of her followers pointed out that despite her diva status, and plenty of songs, videos, and albums that could’ve been eligible, Mimi has never won a VMA, even Mariah had to wonder what’s up with that.

“The fact that @MariahCarey never won a VMA and still hasn’t won a Vanguard award don’t sit right with me. Get it together @MTV @vmas,” her fan wrote. And it wasn’t too long before Mariah joined in to agree with him. “Yeah.. @MTV how have I offended thee? Nary an award?” Mariah wrote in response, quote tweeting her fan’s post and including a GIF from one her most adventurous videos, the cinematic spy thriller themed “Honey remix clip.

Of course, plenty more fans were chiming in once the snub had been brought to their attention, and MTV’s mentions are probably getting bombarded right now. Well, maybe her remix of “Big Energy” with Latto will be eligible for something in 2022, and the VMAs can make this right asap.

Kevin Na Made A Triple Bogey On 16 At The Masters After Hitting A Putt 47 Feet Past The Hole

Kevin Na arrived at the 16th hole at Augusta National on Saturday at 1-over for the tournament, 12 shots off of Scottie Scheffler’s lead at that moment but still in the top 10 on what had turned into a brutal third round at the Masters.

Na, for the most part, had avoided catastrophe during his third round up until that point, making four bogeys and one birdie in his round, battling strong winds and lightning fast greens. As they day wore on and winds dried out the greens further, they only got faster and Na became the prime example of just how slick they had become when he 5-putted the 16th for a triple bogey.

After ramming his first putt up the slope 12 feet past the hole, he was left with a right-to-left swinger back down the hill and while he didn’t nuke the putt, he hit it hard enough to get by the hole and reach the steep slope just beyond it, ultimately leaving him 47 feet away for his fourth.

The Masters loves to push Augusta National to the limit and this is an incredible example of that. This is a putt that maybe runs by 5 or 6 feet on the Tour’s fastest greens, but at Augusta, that pushes you off of the top shelf and punishes you severely. Na would require three more putts from the bottom of the hill, carding a triple and dropping him back to 4-over for the tournament. He dropped one more shot on 17 to finish with a 79 for his round, 5-over for the tournament and in a tie for 34th.
