While promoting Jackass Forever, the cast of the cringe-worthy but lovable stunt movie confirmed that they had filmed enough content for not one but two movies of men (and now a woman!) hurting themselves for comedy. Finally, the extended edition of Jackass Forever will debut next month, with all-new stunts and footage.
Get ready for more stunts and stupidity with Jackass 4.5, an all-new feature film featuring the whole crew! Here’s a small taste of what you can expect when it premieres May 20 on Netflix…
Jackass 4.5 will feature more skits and stunts, and some potential surprise guests. Earlier this year, Johnny Knoxville confirmed to Screen Rant that the movie would be “stacked” with unseen footage.
The movie will be released on May 20th exclusively on Netflix, while the original Jackass Foreveris staying on Paramount+. A Blu-ray version of the movie was also released this week, featuring over 40 minutes of new footage and extended scenes.
As Rachel Wolfson told Uproxx earlier this year, “There’s a lot of stuff that you guys didn’t get to see that will be in 4.5 and I’m very excited for that to come out as well.” Wolfson was one of the newest members of the Jackass team, who was picked by Knoxville himself after he DMed her on Instagram. She was famously bitten on the lips by a scorpion and licked a taser. But that’s not all! “They got so much good content for this movie, that 4.5 will be such a great movie as well.”
Kim Kardashian kicked off a wave of controversy in early March that saw the reality star get brutally roasted on social media for telling people to “get your f**king a** up and work” during a sprawling Variety cover story ahead of The Kardashians premiere on Hulu. After the heat died down, Kim stopped by Good Morning America later in the month where she attempted to chalk the whole thing up to being taken out of context when she also said that “nobody wants to work these days.”
However, that excuse was quickly shot down by Variety Chief Correspondent Elizabeth Wagmeister who reviewed the raw footage and said the question Kardashian was asked was “very direct” and quoted in context.
It’s not what she claims. I just reviewed the raw footage. The question was very direct: “What would be your advice for women in business?”
The question about being famous for being famous came after that question, actually. https://t.co/ZZx1l0k1k2
Maybe the second time is the charm because Kim is once again trying to massage her business advice that sparked reactions that the reality star is wildly out of touch with the true working class. This time around, Kardashian says she was having an “off day,” which in fairness, is a much better excuse than claiming she was taken out of context. Here’s what she told the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast via Mediaite:
“I want everyone to win. Truly, I think there’s always enough to go around. I love supporting all my friends and small businesses and any women I meet.” Kardashian continued, “It will definitely teach me to be careful in the sense of like, I don’t care what kind of day or mood, or what other question was coming in that, that tripped me out and got me — maybe my tone was different, but I still — it made me sad that it was perceived that way cause I would never want to hurt anybody or intend for that to be offensive.”
You’d think after spending almost two decades in the public eye, Kardashian would be aware that her every word is scrutinized. However, when you have that level of fame, it’s easy to suffer a severe disconnect from the rest of the world, where work doesn’t involve glamorous photoshoots or working out of a mansion.
Timothée Chalamet has done pretty well for himself, starring in movies both big and acclaimed as well as turning heads at the Oscars with his eccentric couture. Being a handsome young man with floppy hair, he’s had his share of romantic gossip. But one of his alleged hook-ups not only evaded intrusive questions but did so in a most creative fashion.
Sarah Talabi, a model and influencer who has appeared in Victoria’s Secret ads, was questioned by Page Six after images and videos circulated online of her possibly canoodling with the once and future Paul Atreides during Coachella 2022 last weekend. She confirmed that, yes, she was there and, yes, those are her in the photos, alongside not only Chalamet but also her twin sister Leah Talabi.
But when it came to the million dollar question, she inventively changed the subject.
“Everyone is asking me if I was kissing Timothée Chalamet at Coachella, and that is a good question,” Talabi wrote in her statement to Page Six. “But a great question would be asking our world leaders why the Earth is now losing 1.2 trillion tons of ice each year due to global warming and why climate crisis reform has been completely ineffective.”
So instead of asking if she made out with the Call Me By Your Name guy, she advises, “I encourage you to contact your local representatives and ask them that.”
There’s a lot of troubles in the world right now, from the Russian invasion of Ukraine to the American rightwing losing its mind (or moreso). Climate change, which endangers the future of the young like Talabi and Chalamet, can sometimes get lost in the shuffle. So Talabi bringing it up, while being asked about her personal life, is a smart and wise move. Nice work.
Amy Hennig, one of the best known names in video games, is finally getting to settle a longtime debt with the Star Wars franchise. Hennig, originally a developer for EA’s Visceral Games, was working on a Star Wars game for the company until the game was eventually cancelled and Visceral Games was shut down. Hennig moved on to eventually work with Skydance New Media.
Now, years after her first attempt at making a Star Wars game was cancelled, Hennig will be given another opportunity to do so at Skydance. In an announcement on Tuesday, StarWars.com stated that Skydance and Lucasfilm Games would be collaborating together to create a new Star Wars game with Hennig expected to be involved.
“I’ve often described how seeing Star Wars in 1977 essentially rewired my 12-year-old brain, shaping my creative life and future indelibly,” said Hennig, president, Skydance New Media. “I’m elated to be working with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories in this galaxy that I love.”
Hennig’s credentials as a game developer are extremely impressive. She’s worked on major titles such as Jak and Daxter, Legacy of Kain, and was creative director for the Uncharted series. While we don’t know yet what exact role Hennig is going to play in the upcoming Star Wars game, we do know that it’s going to be a single player story driven experience.
Once we get more details on the game itself, it will be interesting to see how much this new game takes from the original game that was being developed at EA and what has evolved into something new.
Varietyreports that the sophomore season of the steamy Shondaland romance-drama has “knocked the show’s first season out of the No. 1 slot on Netflix’s rankings of its most-popular English language-TV series of all time.”
Season two sits at 627 million minutes viewed over its first 28 days on the streaming platform, compared to (“only”) 625 million for season one. The first non-Bridgerton show on the English language top-10 list (an important distinction with over 1.6 billion minutes for South Korea’s Squid Game) is season three of Stranger Things, so don’t be surprised if Bridgerton‘s reign is a short one; Stranger Things season four premieres next month.
Here’s the English language top 10:
1. Bridgerton: Season 2 (627,110,000)
2. Bridgerton: Season 1 (625,490,000)
3. Stranger Things 3 (582,100,000)
4. The Witcher: Season 1 (541,010,000)
5. Inventing Anna (511,920,000)
6. 13 Reasons Why: Season 2 (496,120,000)
7. The Witcher: Season 2 (484,340,000)
8. 13 Reasons Why: Season 1 (475,570,000)
9. Maid (469,090,000)
10. You: Season 3 (467,830,000)
And the non-English language top 10:
1. Squid Game: Season 1 (1,650,450,000)
2. Money Heist: Part 4 (619,010,000)
3. All of Us Are Dead: Season 1 (560,780,000)
4. Money Heist: Part 3 (426,400,000)

6. Café con aroma de mujer: Season 1 (326,910,000)
7. Lupin: Part 1 (316,830,000)
8. Elite: Season 3 (275,300,000)
9. Who Killed Sara?: Season 1 (266,430,000)
10. Elite: Season 4 (257,090,000)
To the surprise of no one, a Bridgerton spinoff series is on the way.
Festival season is officially in full swing, and we’re not just referring to Coachella. Music festivals are going down all across the country — around the world, in fact — from Tulum to San Diego to Miami and even the Caribbean.
One destination in the festival queue is Gulf Shores, Alabama, –an unexpected yet worthy hotspot for live music and all-day partying. The seaside city will host the highly anticipated return of the Hangout Music Festival from May 20 to May 22. Featuring a diverse lineup of pop, rock, hip-hop, electronic, and country artists, Hangout Music Festival offers attendees an unforgettable weekend of great music and quintessential (though not overly touristed) ocean scenery.
The lineup is packed with today’s top music artists, sure to draw crowds from all across the state (and the region!). Headliners include Post Malone, Tame Impala, and Halsey, while other notable performers include Doja Cat, Fall Out Boy, ILLENIUM, Megan Thee Stallion, Kane Brown, Jack Harlow, Zedd, Maren Morris, Phoebe Bridgers, Leon Bridges, and Louis The Child, among many others.
One of the lineup’s up-and-coming artists, Zach Hood, is returning to his home state of Alabama for his festival debut. Born and raised just an hour outside of Gulf Shores in Daphne, Alabama, the TikTok heartthrob turned well-renowned recording artist knows the ins and outs of where to eat, play, party, and stay while in town. So naturally we asked him to share his local guide to town — so you can make the most out of your time while visiting for Hangout Music Festival.
Tacky Jacks is a very famous local restaurant in Gulf Shores. It has amazing food and it’s such a good vibe. My family and I used to go there all the time when I was younger. Every time I come back to visit, I try to go there at least once.
The Wharf is the best family spot possible in Gulf Shores hands down. It’s got a strip of stores and AMAZING restaurants for everyone to enjoy. My buddy owns a condo here so every time I come to visit I end up there. They hold a bunch of cool seasonal events like ice skating and car shows. It’s always a fun time.
The Pass
Zach Hood
The Pass is a spot on the beach under a bridge that all kids in high school and College go to. Although it’s a good time for anyone. My friends and I would always go there for every spring break we had in high school. Not many ‘tourists’ know about this spot so the locals will probably get mad at me for sharing this…
Fun Fact: The Pass and The Wharf were both locations featured in Zach’s music video for “I Miss My Friends.”
Hangout Restaurant
The Hangout Restaurant
Of course, I’m gonna include the Hangout Restaurant, and no it’s not biased. They have amazing food and all sorts of activities for children. It’s a very good spot for families to pull up to and have a great time. It’s also located on the beach so when you’re done eating you could walk right out the back door and catch a tan. Fun Fact — I USED TO WORK HERE!
The Caribe Resort
Caribe Resort
The Caribe Resort is a condominium right by The Pass. It’s the best condo to stay at if you’re visiting for the week. It’s an amazing location and always a good time here. Again, my friends and I would always stay here for Spring Break.
Flora-Bama Beach Bar
Flora Bama
Flora-Bama is a world-known bar and I don’t doubt it for a second. This one is for all my adults out there that want to have a good time late at night. It’s right across from a Waffle House too. Best believe you will not be hungover in the morning.
Mullet Toss
Flora Bama
Mullet Toss is a seasonal event here in Gulf Shores. And yes, you are literally tossing mullet, and for those of you that don’t know what mullet are… they are fish. I know it sounds very odd, but you gotta trust me on this one. Everyone is having a good time with live music, food, bars, etc. It’s a must.
Last but definitely not least, The Track. The Track is a Go-Karting place for everyone to just go and have fun. They also have an arcade with food and drinks inside. I recommend riding “The Woody,” it’s my favorite. They also have these little bumper boats that have little water guns that you can squirt at people with. You have to visit The Track when you’re in Gulf Shores.
Next month, UK rap favorite Little Simz was set to play a handful of US shows over the course of the month. Now, though, fans on this side of the pond will have to wait longer to see her live, as Simz revealed today she is rescheduling her US tour. No new dates have been announced yet.
Simz shared the news on social media, noting the reason for the postponement is the “mental stress” that being left “in a huge deficit” after making the trip to North America would cause her. She wrote:
“Hey guys, due to unforeseen circumstances l’ve been left with no option but to reschedule my US tour. I take my live shows seriously and would only want to give you guys nothing but the best of me. Being an independent artist, I pay for everything encompassing my live performances out of my own pocket and touring the US for a month would leave me in a huge deficit.
As much as this pains me to not see you at this time, I’m just not able to put myself through that mental stress. It’s important for me to speak my truth about this and be honest. I appreciate the love and excitement you guys have for seeing me live. Rest assured I will be there soon, back bigger and better. For now I’m creating and working on art that I’m so excited about. Music of course but other things too; all levelling to greater heights. A message to all artists and creatives, know your worth and stick to your guns. Love you all. Simz.
xx.”
In a recent feature, Uproxx’s Aaron Williams noted Simz may be at the start of earning herself a more substantial amount of American fans, writing, “Her broad-ranging and nigh universal critical acclaim could be the first step toward her gaining and maintaining a toehold on the public’s attention stateside. Such a feat would put her in rare company; while there have been several British rappers to develop cult followings in the US, few of them ever did so while maintaining such a stark, British outlook on the art form.”
After performing at Coachella this past weekend, it looks like El-P and Killer Mike are now hard at work on their next Run The Jewels album. In a new interview with Consequence, Killer Mike revealed that he was recently in the studio with his partner-in-rhyme, where they apparently planted the seeds of the follow-up to their 2021 album, RTJ4. “I say this with a smile and a wink — me and El-P were in the studio together,” he said. “We may have messed around and started Run the Jewels 5. So we’ll see what happens.”
However, he also said that plans weren’t exactly solidified during that session. “I never know what I’m planning,” he admitted. “But what I do plan right now is actually completing one of the greatest tours ever in Run the Jewels and Rage Against the Machine.” That tour was rescheduled after postponing part of the tour due to the ongoing pandemic (which, you know, never actually ended). Coachella marked the duo’s return to the stage after performing at Atlanta’s Shaky Knees Festival in October and are planning to take the stage again at Boston Calling after weekend two of Coachella.
Just because they aren’t sure that their latest session will result in a new RTJ album, though, Mike allowed that there would more music from the duo in the future. “I would say look for Run the Jewels to pop up on some guest appearances,” he said. “I’ve done some solo guest appearances as well. So just look for more music to be coming out period.”
There might not be a more consistent electro-pop band out there than Hot Chip. With seven vibrant albums, each of which bears its own unique energy, under their belt, the British band are proof that you don’t have to water down your sound to keep making rock and pop music that’s ready for the dance floor. Today, the wonderful quintet, who just played an evening set at Coachella, announced their eighth album, Freakout/Release, and it sees the band exploring heavier themes that speak to the wild times we’re still in.
“We were living through a period where it was very easy to feel like people were losing control of their lives in different ways,” beat maestro Joe Goddard said in a statement about the album, which comes out on August 19th. “There’s a darkness that runs through a lot of those tracks.”
The album was recorded at Hot Chip’s new Relax & Enjoy Studio, which they established early on in the pandemic. It proved to be a welcome creative ground for them to come together to work on the songs from Freakout/Release.
“We were turning on a tap and having a lot of ideas being poured out quite quickly,” singer Alexis Taylor said.
While keyboardist Al Doyle (who is also the guitarist for LCD Soundsystem) adds, “Everything’s on all the time [at Relax & Enjoy] and it’s very easy to capture what we’re doing.”
Hot Chip also released the album’s lead single in “Down.” It rides on a sample of “More Than Enough” by Universal Togetherness Band and speaks to Goddard’s supreme dance music crate digging chops (seriously, go see a Hot Chip DJ set some day, it’s a transcendental masterclass in dance music history). The band are in the midst of their North American tour and songs from the new album are sure to pop up on stage.
In the meantime, watch the video for “Down” above, directed by Douglas Hart and Steve Mackey, with well-woven hat tips to The Shining. Check out the album artwork and tracklist for Freakout/Release below.

Pride is back in LA, honey! LA Pride In The Park has a stacked line-up for you, too. Returning for the first time in two years, since the COVID-19 pandemic brought it to a temporary halt, Pride In The Park boasts a line-up of musicians, performers, and drag queens, representing all facets of the LGBTQ+ community.
The festival will take place on June 11 at Los Angeles State Historic Park, and is supported by non-profit organization Christoper Street West, which organizes all of LA Pride‘s events.
“We’re thrilled to have women, the majority of them LGBTQIA+ artists of color, lead our mainstage event to celebrate our return to Pride,” said Gerald Garth, CSW’s vice president of community programming and initiatives, in a statement. “Los Angeles represents a broad range of cultures, backgrounds and identities, especially across the BIPOC communities. Bringing influential and diverse artists is a nod to the many different people reflected within our community.”
In addition to the musical performers, several drag queens are on the bill, including Eureka and Bob The Drag Queen, from RuPaul’s Drag Race and We’re Here. Tickets are available for purchase now.
