Helado Negro’s ‘Ya No Estoy Aqui’ Is A Transportive Song With A Surrealist Video

Later this week, Helado Negro (aka Roberto Carlos Lange) will be embarking on a headlining tour through the US and Europe, supporting his most recent album, Far In. Released last year, Far In proved to be a journey into the mind that took us through the locales that Lange traversed in creating the skin and bones of the album: Marfa, Berlin, Brooklyn, and Asheville. It’s fitting that not only will he finally get to revisit the areas surrounding the album’s beginnings, but that he also released one last single ahead of the tour that seemingly calls out his nomadic creationism, “Ya No Estoy Aquí.”

Lange said in a statement that “Ya No Estoy Aqui” (which translates to “I’m No Longer Here”) is about “loneliness and alienation.” He added, “It’s about being lost within yourself and not knowing who you are. Making this song was catharsis; it was a way to get this all out and feel the texture of new perspectives.”

His vocals in Spanish cozy up against a woozy, vibrating beat that’s downright comforting. The song has a surrealist lean, as if it’s begging the question of how you can be somewhere but nowhere at the same time? The video depicts Lange’s single eye and mouth moving through time and space, adding to the transportive feel of the tune.

Lange added that the song’s title was inspired by the recent indie film of the same name. “This movie moved me in ways that nothing else has moved in a long time,” Lange says. “It is about a young man from Monterrey, Mexico, who gets into trouble and is forced to leave for his safety to New York. The language barrier, the cultural isolation, and his characteristics spiral him more towards his loneliness and isolation. Music was his only solace. Songs that he would dance to by himself and disappear into the memory of being somewhere else with the people he missed and loved.”

Camila Cabello Sings A Classic From The Killers On ‘Carpool Karaoke’

Earlier this month, Nicki Minaj was the first guest on popular Late Late Show segment “Carpool Karaoke” following a two-year hiatus. The series is back up to full steam, now, as James Corden and company offered another new installment last night, this time with Camila Cabello.

Of course, the duo busted out some of Cabello’s biggest songs — “Havana,” “Don’t Go Yet,” “Bam Bam,” and “Liar.” As they drove around, Cabello also revealed Harry Styles was the main motivation for her to audition for X Factor, a choice that led her to Fifth Harmony and now to her thriving solo career.

She told Corden, “This is really embarrassing and I can only say this because obviously it’s like ten years ago but I literally was like, I’m auditioning for X Factor because I will marry Harry Styles. I really believed that at the time.”

Towards the end of the ride, Cabello told Corden her go-to karaoke song is The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside,” so naturally, they proceeded to sing along to the classic single.

This comes months after Cabello was part of a viral Late Late Show moment last summer, when she, her Cinderella co-stars, and Corden stopped traffic for a “Crosswalk The Musical” segment. Before the actual segment was released, though, it blew up online due to footage of Corden, dressed as a mouse, just thrusting away like tomorrow wasn’t a given.

Stephen Colbert Couldn’t Resist Mocking ‘Whitest D*ck Ever’ Tucker Carlson For His New, Weird Obsession

Stephen Colbert tries to ignore Tucker Carlson as much as possible (we should all be so lucky), but The Late Show host couldn’t resist discussing the dishonest propagandist‘s new obsession: roasting your nuts. In his Fox Nation documentary series, Tucker Carlson Originals, Carlson praises the supposed benefits of “testicle tanning” with his “fitness professional” guest Andrew McGovern. “So, obviously, half the viewers are now like, ‘What? Testicle tanning — that’s crazy.’ But my view is, OK, testosterone levels have crashed and nobody says anything about it. That’s crazy,” Carlson explained.

Speaking of crazy, Colbert called Carlson “one of the engineers on the express train to right-wing crazy town” for among other things, his documentary on the “de-broing” of America. “I gotta say, coming from a Fox News anchor, that is a refreshing and positive celebration of homoeroticism,” the comedian joked following a montage of sweaty, shirtless hunks. “Good for you, fellas!” And now we’ve arrived at the testicle tanning.

“I’m no urologist, but if the Lord intended testicle health to include a lot of sunlight, I think he would have put them where the sun do shine,” Colbert said. “Like on your shoulders, or something. But there it is, Tucker is promoting testicle tanning, which is surprising, because the last time I checked, he is the whitest d*ck ever.”

DJ Khaled Was Sent Back To His Courtside Seat After He Airballed A Shot During The Miami Heat’s Game

DJ Khaled is always full of energy, at least when he’s in the public eye. It’s clear through his enthusiastic skits on his albums like Khaled Khaled or one-off collaborations like Latto’s “Big Energy” remix with Mariah. There are also his social media videos and behind-the-scenes clips with friends and other celebrities. Nowadays, Khaled has plenty to celebrate as he recently received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. He accepted the honor with Diddy, Fat Joe, and Jay-Z beside him during the ceremony last week. Khaled seems to still be in a celebratory mood, and the high energy that comes on was on full display during the Miami Heat’s recent playoff game.

On Sunday, the Miami Heat kicked off the first round of the NBA playoffs with a Game 1 matchup against the Atlanta Hawks. DJ Khaled was in attendance at the game as he sat courtside with his family. During a break in the game’s action, Khaled decided to leave his seat and walk onto the court in order to grab a ball and attempt a three-pointer. Despite the ambitious attempt, the shot was a complete airball, and soon enough, a security guard arrived to send him back to his seat.

While the airball might have been disappointing to Khaled, his Miami heat did win the playoff game by a score of 115-91. This is also not Khaled’s first attempt at some on-court action. Back in February, he tried his hand at the Skills Challenge obstacle course for the NBA’s All-Star Weekend. This also resulted in an airball from Khaled, but he made up for it by sinking his following shot.

You can check out Khaled’s airball from Game 1 in the video above.

The Warriors Turned On The Jets To Take A 2-0 Series Lead Over The Nuggets

On Saturday evening, the Golden State Warriors held serve at home, taking a 1-0 series lead with a double-digit win over the Denver Nuggets at Chase Center. In advance of Game 2, the Nuggets faced considerable pressure and, in the early going, Nikola Jokic and company sustained success. However, the Warriors flipped the script as they often do, zooming to a massive run in the second quarter and, behind a dominant third period, Golden State secured a 126-106 win to take a commanding series advantage.

The Nuggets scored the first seven points of the night but, in what was a relatively uninspiring opening quarter on both sides, Denver led by only one point after 12 minutes of action. Denver’s best stretch was still to come, with the Nuggets using a 14-2 run to take a 12-point lead with more than seven minutes remaining in the first half.

That was, at least broadly, the end of the positive mojo for the Nuggets, with Denver losing ground on the scoreboard and expressing frustration along the way.

In short, Golden State closed the half with a haymaker, turning the 12-point deficit into a halftime lead. The Warriors outscored the Nuggets by a 26-8 margin over approximately seven minutes, leaning on their small-ball lineup, and the home team would never again trail.

The Warriors were +17 in fewer than 13 minutes with Stephen Curry on the floor in the first half. The former MVP scored 16 points on 10 shooting possessions off the bench, and he wasn’t alone in putting pressure on the Nuggets.

Golden State was showing signs of what was to come, and the third quarter was a masterclass on the offensive end of the floor. When the 12-minute period came to a close, the Warriors had scored 44 points on 14-of-21 shooting, including 7-of-11 from three-point range. Golden State also added 9-of-12 at the free throw line with nine assists, and both Curry (10 points) and Jordan Poole (13 points) left a mark.

The Warriors led 101-81 as the fourth quarter arrived, and the Nuggets never made an appreciable run. Perhaps the most notable development of the closing period was a second technical foul assessed to Nikola Jokic, who was ejected with seven minutes remaining after scoring 26 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.

Golden State’s margin was comfortable from there, and the Warriors continued to put on a show. After a 30-point eruption in Game 1, Poole was excellent again, scoring 29 points on 10-of-16 shooting with eight assists. Curry scored 34 points on 12-of-17 shooting with 5-of-10 from beyond the arc in just 23 minutes off the bench, and Klay Thompson added 21 points for good measure.

The Warriors were also able to use part of the fourth quarter for repetitions with a devastating three-guard front of Curry, Poole, and Thompson, which could prove quite useful in the near future. As a team, Golden State made 17 three-pointers on 40 attempts, finishing with 27 assists against only nine turnovers.

The series shifts to Denver on Thursday evening and, with Jokic on the other side, the Nuggets are capable of throwing a counterpunch in the series. Still, the Warriors sent another message on Monday evening, and Golden State’s ceiling appears to be sky-high with Curry working his way back, Poole playing at a high level, and Draymond Green in a groove as the captain of the defense.

Drake Posted A Photo With Taylor Swift And Fans Think New Music From Them Could Be Coming

Two of the biggest superstars in music are Drake and Taylor Swift. More times than not, they both top the charts when they release new music whether it be an album or a song. Drake and Taylor both also have more than a decade of experience in the music industry, and despite this, they’ve yet to work on any music together. It’s not that much of a shocking note as their respective genres don’t necessarily crossover. As we know, Drake’s focus is hip-hop and R&B while Taylor’s is country and pop. Nonetheless, a photo with the two artists has something thinking (or hoping) that 2022 is the year that they grant new music to the world.

In a recent post on Instagram, Drake shared a collection of five images using the carousel feature on the app. The last photo in the carousel is one of him standing behind Taylor with his arm wrapped around her while she holds on to his arm. Drake captioned the photo, “They too soft to understand the meaning of hard work.” The image, which is a bit of a throwback, caused many to wonder if new music from the duo was on the way while others seemed more focused on the idea of Drake and Taylor hanging out together.

Drake and Taylor’s photo comes a little over five years after the hilarious Apple Music commercial that captured Drake dancing to Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood.”

Joel Embiid Spent The End Of Game 2 Telling Nick Nurse To ‘Respectfully, Stop B*tching About Calls’

The Philadelphia 76ers have dominated the first two games of their first round series against the Toronto Raptors, following up Saturday’s 20-point win in Game 1 with a 15-point win in Game 2 (that was much more lopsided for most of the second half).

After a rather quiet first game — if 19 points and 15 rebounds can be categorized as quiet — Joel Embiid asserted himself much more in Game 2, scoring 31 points to lead the way in another win that saw all five starters hit double figures for Philly. As is often the case with Embiid, 12 of those points came from the free throw line (on 14 trips), and in total the Sixers took 30 attempts from the charity stripe. After Game 1, Raptors coach Nick Nurse was not pleased with the calls Philly was getting and some of the same frustration was apparent on the sidelines during Game 2.

As the final seconds wound down, TNT’s cameras lingered on a rather fascinating interaction between Embiid and Nurse, as they had a lengthy discussion in which Nurse seemed to be insisting the Raptors were defending him with verticality on some of the calls he was getting.

After the game, Embiid explained what that conversation was all about, confirming it was indeed about the officiating and offering the rather hilarious insight that he told him to “respectfully, stop bitching about calls.”

It’s an incredibly Joel Embiid comment, making sure to point out how much he respects Nurse as a coach before saying he should quit complaining. As the series shifts to Toronto, it remains to be seen if the Raptors can figure anything out to give the Sixers some problems, but the lack of size inside is never more noticeable than in a series against Embiid, and for the moment it’s hard to see where the answers lie for the conundrum the MVP candidate presents.

Seth Meyers Had Some Fun With Tucker Carlson’s Pitch For ‘Testicle Tanning,’ An Idea So Out There Not Even Kid Rock Is Buying It

Tucker Carlson has said some strange and disturbing things in his lifetime, especially since rebranding as Fox News’ kookiest host. But his latest may be weirder than his conspiracy theories about the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Over the weekend, he aired a preview of his Fox Nation documentary series Tucker Carlson Originals. It was something else. First, social media glommed onto its hysterically homoerotic montage. Then they noticed he was shilling something he called “testicle tanning.”

On Monday, Seth Meyers got in on the action. On Late Night, he used the latest segment of “A Closer Look” to see what crazy things Republicans have said and done of late. He mocked Donald Trump for still ranting against windmills. He torched Senator Mike Lee for being involved with the plot to overturn the 2020 election. But nothing was more ridiculous than a segment about Tucker’s forthcoming documentary The End of Men, in which he makes a bold pitch for heating one’s nuts.

Meyers seized upon a part in the preview in which Carlson suggested that “half” of his viewers would think the idea of men treating their privates to red-light therapy. “I’m going to go out on a limb and say that if you’re tuning in to watch a Tucker Carlson special on Fox’s streaming service titled The End of Men, you might be down to clown with just about anything.”

He also showed another clip from the preview, in which Carlson tried this suggestion out on Trumpist rap-rocker Kid Rock, and only succeeding in weirding him out. “I don’t know what the hell’s going on in this world,” a baffled Kid Rock responded. “I don’t even know if I understood that question.”

“When you’ve lost Kid Rock…” Meyers cracked.

The late night host also called into question why so many Republicans keep seizing upon patently absurd ideas. “Also, even if there was some sort of massive global testosterone crisis, is it already time to start tanning your balls?!” Meyers asked. “Nothing is crazier than a conservative’s second idea. ‘I don’t trust vaccines, but I’ll eat some horse paste.’ Are there ever solutions somewhere between Plan A and the craziest shit you’ve ever heard?”

Jalen Brunson Went Off For 41 Points To Even The Series With The Jazz

The Dallas Mavericks entered Monday night rather desperate to get a win at home after dropping Game 1 to the Utah Jazz in gutting fashion, and with Luka Doncic still sidelined with a calf strain, they needed someone to step up and lead the way offensively.

Jalen Brunson answered that call in a major way in Game 2, scoring 41 points on 15-of-25 shooting, along with five assists and seven rebounds, to carry the load for Dallas and lead them to a 110-104 win, evening the series as it shifts to Utah. Brunson set the tone early with a quick onslaught from three-point range, pushing the Mavs to a quick first quarter lead.

Maxi Kleber, who had a rough Game 1 shooting from distance, also started to see the ball go in, knocking down an early three thanks to a friendly roll that was a signal of things to come.

The Jazz had a response ready for Dallas’ hot start, as they started to settle in on both ends of the floor and assert themselves, tying things up going to the second quarter.

Utah would take control in the second quarter behind a strong effort from Donovan Mitchell, who finished the game with 34 points, and Jordan Clarkson, who finished with 21 points.

The Jazz took Every time the Jazz tried to pull away in the game, Brunson or Kleber seemed to have an answer in the form of a big three.

Clarkson continued to provide a lift, as did Bojan Bogdanovic who had 25 points, as the Jazz tried to keep Dallas at arm’s length in the second half.

The Jazz led 93-86 with just over eight minutes to play, when familiar fourth quarter struggles started to creep back up. Fittingly it was Brunson and Kleber that carried the Mavs down the stretch to the win, with both delivering big shots to put Dallas up in the fourth

The dagger, however, came from Dorian Finney-Smith, whose corner three pushed the Mavs advantage to five with just over two minutes to play.

Brunson would polish things off at the free throw line in a truly spectacular individual effort on a night Dallas desperately needed it, particularly with Spencer Dinwiddie struggling with his shooting, going just 6-of-18 from the field. Kleber’s hot shooting was also huge, as he hit eight threes and finished with 25 points off the bench, giving Brunson an outlet in the pick-and-pop game that gave Utah fits with their drop coverage. With the win the Mavs now will feel rejuvenated going on the road, with hope that Doncic can join the team at some point as the series progresses.

For Utah, it’s yet another fourth quarter lead they’ve seen slip away in recent months, and it was an all-too-familiar refrain, as the offense grew stagnant and was far too reliant on whether Donovan Mitchell could hit tough shots. While he had 34 points, he needed 30 shots to get there and cooled off late, and the Jazz weren’t able to kickstart things again as the Mavs went on their run behind Brunson and Kleber’s onslaught. Now they have to brush this performance off and defend homecourt against a Dallas team that will be brimming with confidence that they can compete with the Jazz with or without their superstar.

Future Gifted His Old High School With A Fully Upgraded Weight Room

Future is undoubtedly one of the rap kings in his hometown Atlanta. Over the last decade, Future has released eight albums, sixteen mixtapes, and other projects that have contributed to his rise in not only the rap world but all of music as well. With this success, Future has also made sure to give back to his community. One example came during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 when Future launched the #MaskOn campaign and donated masks to healthcare workers and coronavirus patients. For his latest act, Future is taking things back to his old high school with a great gift for students.

During this past Easter weekend, Future visited his alma mater Columbia High School in Decatur, Georgia with his Freewishes Foundation to gift the school’s sports program with a fully upgraded weight room. During the visit, Future met with Columbia Eagles head football coach Greg Barnett and the rest of the team to unveil the new weight room. Future’s sister Tia Wilburn, who is also one of the leaders of Freewishes Foundations, was also in attendance and she said the makeover was organized after she noted that the weight room had not improved since she graduated from the school years ago.

“Since our foundation is very big on health and wellness it was important for us to help create an environment for students in which they could be comfortable, have pride, and perform their best,” Wilburn said to FOX 5 Atlanta. “Also, research shows that students who are physically active tend to excel academically and have better attendance. They are less likely to struggle with depression and other mental health issues.”

This comes as Future, who posed with students for photos and videos, revealed that his upcoming ninth album will arrive on April 29.

You can get out footage from the weight room unveil above.
