Lana Condor Plays A High School Senior Who Happens To Be Dead In The ‘Boo, Bitch’ Trailer

Everyone feels like high school is the best time of their lives when in reality it’s just too much homework and not enough critical thinking skills. But when you are a teen, it just makes sense. So when two under-the-radar friends decide to spend their senior year actually going out there and making a name for themselves, it seems like it would be a beautiful inspirational moment, right? It worked for Booksmart! And then, just like Mean Girls, reality hits you like a big yellow school bus.

“I can’t believe we waited so long to start living!” Lana Condor’s character says just moments before her character is seemingly killed by a truck in the middle of the road. Irony is real and it’s rough! Condor stars in Netflix’s upcoming series Boo, Bitch, which follows her character Erika as a high school senior determined to make the year count. Only she can’t because she’s dead. Chaos! She then needs to figure out how to leave this life and make it to the afterlife, which of course only happens once she gets the courage to talk to her crush. High school is so rough. As per the official description:

Over the course of one night, a high school senior, who’s lived her life safely under the radar, seizes the opportunity to change her narrative and start living an epic life, only to find out the next morning… she’s a motherf*%king ghost.

The limited series, which drops July 8th on Netflix, also stars Zoe Colletti, Mason Versaw, Aparna Brielle, Tenzing Norgay Trainor, and Jason Genao. It’s Condor’s first TV project since becoming the breakout star of the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before movies. She will also serve as a producer. Just like her Boo, Bitch character, it seems like she is perpetually stuck in high school.

‘Paddington 3,’ The Third Film In The Greatest Movie Franchise Of All-Time, Has A Director And Title

Paddington is a very good movie about a very good bear.

Paddington 2 is the greatest movie of all-time about a very good bear.

What does that mean for Paddington 3, besides it still being about a very good bear?

We’ll find out soon enough, but at least we know the director and title. The first two wonderfully charming Paddington films were directed by Paul King, but he moved on to the Timothée Chalamet-starring Wonka, leaving an opening for The Return of the King of bear movies. Enter: Dougal Wilson, the “award-winning commercials filmmaker” who has been tapped to direct Paddington in Peru, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

“After ten years of working on the Paddington movies, I feel absurdly protective of the little bear, and I’m delighted that Dougal will be there to hold his paw as he embarks on his third big-screen adventure,” King said in a statement. “Dougal’s work is never less than astounding: funny, beautiful, heartfelt, imaginative, and totally original. Aunt Lucy once asked us to ‘Please Look After This Bear.’ I know Dougal will do so admirably.”

Paddington 3 will begin filming in both London and Peru in 2023. But only if we’re kind and polite (and the queen stops hogging Paddington’s free time).

A Former White House Comms Director Confirmed That Rudy Giuliani Was A ‘Definitely Intoxicated,’ Victory-Declaring Mess On Election Night

Another bombshell from the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into the Jan. 6 attack on Capitol Hill just dropped, and it paints a bizarre picture of what was happening in the White House during the 2020 Presidential Election.

As part of its attempt to determine whether Donald Trump and his advisors planned for an insurrection to take place in early 2021, the committee interviewed dozens of members of Trump’s inner circle, quizzing them on their responses to the outcome of the election. In recently released deposition footage, Trump henchmen like campaign advisor Jason Miller and campaign manager Bill Stepien reveal that one man, in particular, advised Trump to just go ahead and “declare victory” despite knowing mail-in ballots had yet to be counted, and he was likely drunk as a skunk while doling out that advice.

“President Trump rejected the advice of his campaign experts on election night and instead, followed the course recommended by an apparently inebriated Rudy Giuliani to just claim he won and insist that the vote-counting stop,” Rep. Liz Cheney said during the hearing before interview footage was played.

What followed was testimony from Miller, who confirmed that Giuliani had had “too much to drink” saying, “The mayor was definitely intoxicated but I did not know his level of intoxication when he spoke with the president.” When Giuliani was questioned on what he told the president while under the influence he seemed to have trouble collecting his thoughts and recalling exactly what was said, only admitting that he “spoke to the president several times that night.”

Both Stepien and Miller were against declaring victory so early, understanding that the count wasn’t even close to being done at that point, and though they were two of Trump’s senior campaign advisors, he instead chose to listen to his old buddy Giuliani, who was apparently so white-girl wasted, even he’s not sure what happened that night.

Future Fans Are Sending Him Fanmail At Atlanta’s Magic City Strip Club

Magic City is an Atlanta landmark, receiving numerous shout-outs in many rappers’ songs. Among those who’ve crafted odes to the home of the famous Lou Williams lemon pepper wings are Fivio Foreign and Quavo, who dropped “Magic City” earlier this year, and local heroes like Jeezy (“Magic City Monday”) and Future (“Magic”).

In fact, the latter has become so closely associated with the strip club, that fans have apparently begun sending him fan mail there, addressed to Nayvadius Wilburn, his government name. The club’s Instagram profile posted a photo of some of the letters, joking in the caption: “Come pick up your mail Mr. Owner!” Future himself responded in the comments: “on my way soon.”

The caption is probably a jokey reference to Future’s verse on 42 Dugg’s “Maybach,” on which he raps, “Magic City, I’m the owner / Tell Steve Harvey I don’t want her.” The line is also referenced in the account’s bio.

While Future may not actually be the club’s owner, he’s certainly given it plenty of new music for its employees to ply their trade. His new album I Never Liked You is out now featuring songs like “Puffin On Zootiez” and “Keep It Burning,” which helped lift it to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 — something he’ll surely be happy to celebrate with a trip to the club.

Kim Kardashian Has Apparently Effectively Molded Pete Davidson Into A Great Taker Of Photos For Her To Post On Instagram

Not only has Kim Kardashian given her fans many beautiful details about her personal life, like how she is interested in eating poop or performing some ritual on a lock of Marilyn Monroe’s hair, but we also get a glimpse into what it’s like to date her. It seems…hard. But Pete Davidson is up for the challenge!

The former SNL castmember has been frolicking the world with his girlfriend of nearly six months, and this time, Kardashian says he “passed the content taking boyfriend test” after snapping several shots of the duo on a vacation that probably cost more than most people make in a year. The two were kayaking on a picturesque beach, in between snaps of Kardashian creative directing her own vacation photoshoot. Hopefully she is wearing sunscreen from her over-priced, nine-step skincare system.

This is quite the step up from her ex Kanye West, who famously hated being on camera with his wife except for that one time when he did it because he wanted to be like The Incredibles. West has been laying low after calling Davidson one too many names earlier this year. Davidson has been busy post-SNL, with multiple projects in the works. Kardashian on the other hand is gearing up to release her $600 skincare line while eating $2 ice cream. She’s a woman of many talents.

Who Is The New ‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse’ Villain, The Spot?

Sony Pictures Animation just dropped a first look at the new villain for the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the two part sequel to the critically acclaimed and knockout fan favorite, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Revealed at Annecy International Animation Film Festivel, The Spot will be voiced by Jason Schwartzman, and his whole body is an inter-dimensional portal that’s primed to give Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) and Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) a whole multi-verse of trouble.

As directors Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson shared during the announcement, The Spot is “one of the deepest cuts in Spider-Man’s rogue gallery,” and they’re not kidding. First introduced all the way back in 1985 in Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man #98, The Spot (a.k.a. Johnathon Ohnn) gained his powers while working for the Kingpin and attempted to recreate the teleportation powers of the Cloak from the famed superhero team, Cloak and Dagger. Ohnn succeeded, but not before accidentally giving himself inter-dimensional powers. Via Marvel Database:

When Ohnn emerged back in his lab, his body had undergone a radical transformation. The portals from the other dimension had adhered to his skin, covering him with black spots from head to toe. Realizing the spots were portable space warps, he started to think he might be able to use them to defeat anyone in battle. When Spider-Man and the Black Cat arrived to confront the Kingpin, he appeared before them and announced himself as the Spot. Spider-Man collapsed on the roof, laughing at the name. The Spot ended up winning that first confrontation and warned the heroes to leave the Kingpin alone.

To avoid potential spoilers, we won’t tell you how Spidey beat The Spot the second time around. However, it is notable that he has a connection to Kingpin who was the Big Bad of Into the Spider-Verse. The massive crime boss gave Miles a run for his money in the first film, and it sure sounds like he’s back with a new villain up his sleeve.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) swings into theaters on June 2, 2023.

Roddy Ricch Led A ‘F*ck The NYPD’ Chant At Hot 97 Summer Jam After Being Arrested On Gun Charges

The NYPD has never been the most popular organization with rappers and their fans but over the weekend, the New York Police Department incensed one rapper in particular ahead of his set at Hot 97 Summer Jam. Roddy Ricch, who released his second album Live Life Fast to close out 2021, was scheduled to perform at both Governors Ball on Saturday and Summer Jam on Sunday but was forced to miss out on the former when he was arrested over a loaded firearm that was found in his vehicle at a security checkpoint.

According to New York Daily News, Roddy’s charges were quickly dismissed along with those of one of the other two men who were also arrested with him. The third, Michael Figueroa of Brooklyn, New York, was arraigned on Sunday — according to the report, it appears his gun caused all the trouble.

Although Roddy avoided serious charges, he clearly didn’t enjoy his brush with the law or being forced to miss a performance. When he took the stage at Summer Jam, he made sure to let the crowd know how he felt, leading a “f*ck the NYPD” chant during his set. You can check out the video below.

Roddy Ricch is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

The A-Lister Who Surprised Everyone In ‘The Boys’ And ‘Doctor Strange 2’ Explained How Those Cameos Collided

What comic-book lover doesn’t love a good A-lister cameo embedded in an already stuffed-to-the-brim superhero project? Even better are the genuine surprises, like Brad Pitt’s blink-and-you’d-actually-miss-him (electrifying) moment in Deadpool 2, Matt Damon’s theatrical turns in both Thor: Ragnarok and Deadpool 2, and Charlize Theron as Clea in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Theron also, curiously enough, managed to rack up a second superhero cameo within the month. The Boys viewers, myself included, were astounded to see Stormfront portrayed by Theron in The Dawn Of The Seven while Aya Cash’s iteration remained hospitalized and burned to a crisp.

Previously, we heard that executive producer Seth Rogen made the phone call to have Theron be the one to pull off a double-take inspiring scene. Theron now explains how she wasn’t aware that both of her cameos would be released in rapid succession. Furthermore, she had almost forgotten about one before being called about the other. And then, all of a sudden, she’s part of both the MCU and Amazon’s Supe-filled satire. Here’s what Theron said in a recent roundtable as revealed by The Hollywood Reporter:

“When Kevin [Feige] asked me to join the Doctor Strange world, I didn’t even know when I was going to shoot that at the time. The [roles] were so far apart that I almost forgot,” said Theron, who added that she’s definitely not maxed out on cameos because “I have kids to raise.” “But in full transparency, I shared it with them and they were so happy that people are interested in this world, whether it’s satire or non-satire. I don’t know why both of these superheroes can’t live in the same world.”

Hmm, that last line gives me far too many ideas of how Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy could go up against Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, and a crossover would certainly fuel a frenzy. Considering all of the difficulties involved with copyrights, this doesn’t seem likely, but maybe Charlize will inspire some fanfic writers to get a little creative. Fire away, y’all.

NYCFC Coach Ronny Deila Leaves For Belgian Club

New York City FC head coach Ronny Deila has left the team after two-and-a-half seasons to manage Belgian side Standard Liège, the MLS club announced Monday. Assistant coach Nick Cushing will take over as interim head coach for NYCFC.

Deila joined the MLS side ahead of the 2020 campaign and led NYCFC to its first-ever MLS Cup win in 2021. Last season, NYCFC hit their stride right as the playoffs approached with a five-game unbeaten streak to end the regular season. In the postseason, the team came out on top in the Eastern Conference and ultimately prevailed in a 4-2 penalty shootout final win against the Portland Timbers. During his tenure in New York, Deila oversaw a 46-29-15 record across all competitions, including back-to-back league playoff appearances.

“Everyone at the Club would like to thank Ronny for the fantastic job he has done here,” said NYCFC Sporting Director David Lee in the club’s statement. “With Ronny at the helm, we have developed an even stronger culture of winning and togetherness and have accomplished our number-one goal of bringing silverware to this Club, to this City, and to our fans.”

Following an extensive playing career in his homeland of Norway, Deila then held managerial roles at Strømsgodset, Vålerenga and Scotland’s Celtic FC, where he won back-to-back Scottish Premiership titles. Now, the 46-year-old will return to Europe in charge of historic Belgian side Standard Liège, which finished in just 14th place in the Belgian First Division A standings last season.

“This was certainly not an easy decision for me and my family,” Deila said in a statement. “However, I feel this is the right time to take on this new challenge and return to Europe.”

NYCFC, which joined MLS in 2015 as an expansion team, have had three other managers in their history — two of which have since joined European club sides: now-Inter Miami CF assistant coach Jason Kreis, now-Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira, and now-Galatasaray coach Domènec Torrent. In 2018, Vieira had also left midway through the MLS season — during the European offseason and summer transfer window — for Ligue 1 side OGC Nice.

Prior to Deila’s departure, NYCFC had been enjoying a dazzling start to the 2022 campaign. The team currently sits atop the Eastern Conference with 26 points from the first 13 games. The team does not have immediate plans to bring in a new leader midseason naming assistant Cushing, who signed a new contract extension with the team, as interim head coach. The 37-year-old Englishman began his coaching career at Manchester City, working his way up to head coach of Manchester City Women, where he won six trophies, including the 2016 Super League title. He was named the FA WSL Manager of the Year in 2016. He joined NYCFC with Deila in January 2020.
