‘The View’ Is Having A Field Day With ‘Shrimp, Wimp, Coward’ Josh Hawley Running Out Of The Capitol Building

The View had a blast on Friday morning as the co-hosts brutally mocked the embarrassing Josh Hawley video from the latest January 6 hearing. In the now-viral clip, the Missouri senator can be seen booking it out of the main Capitol building shortly after riling up the MAGA crowd with a fist pump.

“I didn’t run that fast from my first marriage!” Joy Behar said after making sure to play a clip of former D.C. police officer Michael Fanone saying, “Josh Hawley is a bitch.”

When it came time for co-host Ana Navarro to offer her thoughts, she put the screws to Hawley for everything from his fist bump to his attempts to sell merchandise of the hypocritical moment.

“What an invertebrate that man is,” Navarro said. “We all saw him, remember, when he has his fist up. I think at that point he must’ve thought he was hailing a cab. And then we see him running like the shrimp, wimp, coward, accomplice, hypocrite he is.”

Via The Wrap:

Navarro then criticized Hawley for attempting to capitalize on his latest infamy by promoting his merchandise — including a mug with the image of him raising his fist from that morning.

“And then after he’s running like Forrest Gump — run Joshua, run! Run! — after we see him running, then he’s got the gall to go out and sell merchandise and fundraise over the fist bump! Chica, please!” Navarro said.

While the video of Hawley continues to haunt him with no signs of slowing down, nothing can beat its initial reveal during Thursday night’s hearing. Despite the serious nature of the proceedings, the audience burst out laughing when Hawley was shown fleeing the Capitol building after brazenly doing a fist pump upon his arrival. There was clearly a stark difference between the two moments, and one could argue that Hawley’s hasty exit suggests he knew what was in store for the day.

Trump Has Reportedly Replaced Ivanka And Jared With Mike Lindell In His ‘Inner Circle’ Ahead Of A Possible Presidential Run

A recent Emerson College poll found that in a hypothetical 2024 match-up between Democrat Joe Biden and Republican Donald Trump for president, the former-guy has a 46 percent to 43 percent lead over the current-guy. The gap is even wider between Trump (45 percent) and Bernie Sanders (40 percent).

The next two years are going to be a nightmare — not that now is going great, either.

Anyway, as he gears up for another potential presidential run, Trump has reportedly kicked daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner out of his inner circle in favor of… Mike Lindell? Really? So much for being a “very high-quality person.”

“Trump has reduced his circle of advisers and expunged nearly every former aide who refused to embrace his view that the 2020 election was ‘stolen.’ He spends significant amounts of his time talking to luminaries of the ‘Stop the Steal’ movement,” Jonathan Swan writes for Axios. That includes the MyPillow (and MyCoffee) founder, who has spent tens of millions of dollars trying to get Trump back into the White House. Lindell could have set the money on fire, and been equally successful.

Daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner are no longer involved in Trump’s political operation. Trump still talks to Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy but their relationship is not what it once was. The former president is no longer in close contact with a variety of former officials and GOP operatives who once had his ear.

The excommunicated crew including former senior adviser Hope Hicks, former Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, and former campaign manager Bill Stepien. You can probably add Mitch McConnell to the list, too, after Trump called him a “disloyal sleaze bag” in a meltdown for the ages.

Maybe Lindell is the one guy who can broker peace in the Middle East. Jared sure didn’t.

Eminem Has A Brain Fart When Asked About His Role In Dr. Dre And Snoop Dogg’s ‘Still D.R.E.’ Video

When you have had as long of a career as Eminem, loaded with triumphs, controversies, and a lot of output, you’re bound to forget a few things here and there. It may not necessarily mean said forgotten things aren’t important to him, but the minute details may escape after some time passes. The Detroit rapper showed his age in a recent conversation with Snoop Dogg about the Dr. Dre-assistedStill D.R.E.” video as they promoted their upcoming single “From The D 2 The LBC.”

In the Instagram clip, Snoop asks the “Lose Yourself” rapper if he was running on the beach in the 1999 visual, to which Em replies with confusion as to whether he was in the video at all. “Was I in that video? Why the f*ck would I not remember? What the f*ck? You gotta show me that sh*t because I don’t remember.”

After the “Sensual Seduction” artist offers another reminder, this time including the fact he was chasing women, Eminem regains his memory. He admits he had another video in mind which lead to his confusion: “OK OK, now I remember. I remember now. For some reason I was thinking ‘Forgot About Dre,’ like I pictured my performance in that.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, Snoop Dogg admits working with Eminem on “From The D 2 The LBC” put him back in his “karate school days” and challenged him as a rapper.

Mac Miller’s Overlooked Mixtape ‘I Love Life, Thank You’ Comes To Streaming

Mac Miller may be gone, but not only does his legacy live on, but it also seems his estate finds new ways to bring more Mac music to the masses. And while very little of it is strictly new, much of the material that has been released in recent years was either unavailable via DSPs or overlooked by skeptical listeners who were wrongly misled into boxing Malcolm in with so-called “frat rap.” One of his most overlooked collections of music was I Love Life, Thank You, which the Miller estate has announced made its way to DSPs today.

Originally released in October 2011, I Love Life, Thank You was Mac’s last mixtape ahead of releasing his debut album, Blue Slide Park, and so it may have unfairly received a little less attention than the star-making Best Day Ever, which peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard 200 (by contrast, I Love Life didn’t chart at all). The tape was the culmination of Mac’s “Road 2 a Million Fans” campaign, during which he released a new song for every 100,000 followers he gained on Twitter.

Of course, just a month later, he dropped Blue Slide Park, overshadowing the mixtape with its unprecedented success (it was the first independently-distributed debut album to top the Billboard 200 since 1995). Now, though, fans both old and new can revisit I Love Life and (re)discover that younger, more innocent Mac Miller from the precipice of his greatest successes. It’s worth taking a listen to, along with some of his other older mixtapes that have been re-released or posted to streamers.

Mac Miller is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

St. Vincent Will Be Doing A Week-Long Residency With ‘The Late Show’ House Band

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert is trying something different next week. For the first time ever, the show will be bringing in musical guests for a week-long residency with the Stay Human house band. St. Vincent’s Annie Clark will be kicking things off alongside the Jon Batiste-led ensemble.

Jeff Bridges Explained Why Filming ‘Iron Man’ Initially Drove Him ‘Absolutely Crazy’

In the 14 years since the first Iron Man film hit theaters, a lot has changed for Marvel movies. There are a lot more of them, namely, and the now-Disney franchise has spawned such a massive interconnected web of movies and TV shows that it all feels inevitable in hindsight. But that’s far from the case, as the superhero project was far from a sure thing when it was in development.

There were, inevitably, some kinks to be worked out with the first movie. Robert Downey Jr. famously was not a fan, for example, of the first Iron Man helmet. But according to Jeff Bridges, there was much more to fix with the actual script than may know. In a video interview with Vanity Fair, Bridges detailed some big issues with the script and some of the revisions that were made, admitting that he was incredibly frustrated by the changes made at the last minute.

As Variety noted, Bridges said he spent weeks working with the original script and making some changes he felt for the better. That included working with Downey Jr. and director Jon Favreau to fine-tune the story and script:

“It was Marvel’s first adventure into making movies,” Bridges said. “It was so lucky to have Jon on there and [Robert] Downey, because both of them are terrific improvisers, and we spent a couple of weeks working on the script and rehearsing together, because we didn’t like the original script and we thought, ‘Oh yeah, we fixed this, fixed that.’”

“Then came the first day of shooting, and Marvel kind of threw out our script that we had been working on, said, ‘No, that’s no good. It’s got to be this and that,’” Bridges continued. “And so there was a lot of confusion about what our script was, what we were gonna say. We’d spend hours in one of our trailers going over lines and exploring how we were going to do it.”

All that work going out the window drove him “absolutely crazy,” Bridges said, but he has nothing but good things to say about the project now. He called it the best Marvel movie in the interview, which is no surprise considering he starred in it. But getting there took an attitude adjustment of sorts. And a bit of patience.

“It drove me absolutely crazy until I made a slight adjustment in my brain that was, ‘Jeff, just relax. You’re making a $200 million student film. Just relax and have fun,’” Bridges said. “And that kind of did the trick because here I get to play with these two incredible artists and just jam, and that’s what we ended up doing.”

The proof is in the finished product, which is the film that launched a multi-billion-dollar movie franchise, including another two Iron Man movies as well. And while it’s fascinating to look back at the initial growing pains of the MCU, it’s also interesting to consider what could have happened if Bridges didn’t brush off the initial drama and make the best of a difficult situation. Good thing he’s such a chill dude, I guess.

‘Justified: City Primeval’ Production Shut Down After A Real-Life Gunfight Crashed Into The Set

The Justified revival series has shut down production in Chicago after two vehicles engaged in a gunfight crashed through a set of barricades earlier in the week. According to reports, star Timothy Olyphant was on set when the incident happen, but fortunately, no one was hurt. Out of caution, FX immediately closed production on Justified: City Primeval and plans to keep the set dark until Monday.

Via Deadline:

No one was injured during the Wednesday night intrusion, though shell casings were found on the set later. The cast and crew hit the ground and took cover when the incident occurred near the city’s Douglass Park. Star Timothy Olyphant, who is reprising his role as U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, was present. A tipster told Deadline that Olyphant shielded a production assistant from the gunfire but this could not be verified.

According to Deadline, the Justified: City Primeval incident occurred just one day after a parking enforcement officer was shot and killed on the set of Law & Order: Organized Crime in Brooklyn. The victim was shot early on the morning of July 19 while reserving parking spaces like he’s done for the past six years. NBC closed down production and is working with law enforcement to catch the shooter who is still at large.

“We are working with local law enforcement as they continue to investigate,” the network said in a statement. “Our hearts go out to his family and friends, and we ask that you respect their privacy during this time.”

You Can Now Call A Real ‘She-Hulk’ Hotline For Some Superhero-Sized Legal Advice

Perhaps you have recently opened up a portal to another universe (by accident of course) that wreaked havoc on your neighbors, and now they are looking to sue you for saving their lives. There is a lawyer for that!

Unfortunately, it’s not Saul Goodman, but it is She-Hulk, the star of the new Disney+ series aptly titled She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, which hits the streamer next month. But it’s never too soon to ask for a lawyer! In a new collection of posters given out at Comic-Con, She-Hulk herself, played by Tatiana Maslany, is featured with her own hotline for on-the-go legal representation.

When fans call 1-877-SHE-HULK, they are greeted with Maslany’s voice, portraying Jennifer Walters, as she offers up her services for various superhero-related issues. Fans have uploaded the audio to Twitter, so fans can hear She-Hulks comforting voice giving off legal advice. “Our associates will fight for your right…to fight for everyone else’s rights. That’s what superheroing is all about!” She’s right! Just imagine how much damage was done after The Battle Of New York. That subway system does not fund itself!

She-Hulk will follow lawyer Walters as she legally represents various superheroes after their destructive fights that often leave New York City in shambles. And she also can transform into She-Hulk at the drop of a hat, so that will be interesting.

The series also stars Jameela Jamil, Josh Segarra, Ginger Gonzaga, Jon Bass, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Tim Roth, the Hulk himself Mark Ruffalo, and Benedict Wong. She-Hulk begins streaming on August 17th on Disney+, with new episodes weekly through October 12th.

A Potential Russell Westbrook Trade Between The Lakers And Pacers Is ‘Currently Dead’

The Los Angeles Lakers’ reported interest in Buddy Hield is a long-standing hallmark of the team’s recent vision at this point. They nearly acquired him last summer, pursued him ahead of February’s trade deadline this past season, and have been linked to him this summer. However, any deal involving Hield and Russell Westbrook that would see the two guards swap homes, along with other players and assets, is “currently dead,” according to The Athletic’s Bob Kravitz.

A Westbrook-for-Hield-and-Myles-Turner deal seems like an absolute home run for Los Angeles. The ambiguous surrounding players and picks Kravitz mentions are important, of course, but those two Indiana Pacers are superb fits alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Westbrook, meanwhile, was about as incongruent a partner as could be last season, both because of his own struggles and the actual synergy he failed to form with the Lakers’ stars.

Hield is a dynamite shooter whose ball skills seem to incrementally improve, especially during his brief Indiana tenure last season, as he posted a career-high assist rate of 20.3 percent. Turner, when healthy, is one of the NBA’s foremost defensive big men and drop coverage defenders. He’s grown as interior scorer (66.2 percent on twos last year), looks more comfortable attacking closeouts than he did early in his career and can hoist long balls as a pick-and-pop threat, even if the percentages are middling (34.9 percent from deep for his career).

Neither player is perfect. Both have warts: Hield’s defense and offensive decision-making; Turner’s passiveness, rebounding, and injury history. They’re nonetheless both a heck of a lot better fits for Los Angeles and could help vault them back into vying for homecourt out West. For now, any possibility of this manifesting seems unlikely, though.
