Trump Had A Meltdown For The Ages After It Was Revealed That He Did Nothing To Stop The Violent MAGA Mob On January 6th

As a violent mob swarmed the Capitol building like a horde of locust wearing Make America Great Again hats on January 6, 2021, then-president Donald Trump did nothing. That (and Josh Hawley being a scaredy cat dope) was the biggest takeaway from the Jan. 6 House select committee’s final public hearing of the summer.

“Calling on a cast of witnesses assembled to make it hard for viewers to dismiss as tools of a partisan witch hunt — top Trump aides, veterans and military leaders, loyal Republicans, and even members of Mr. Trump’s family — the committee established that the president willfully rejected their efforts to persuade him to mobilize a response to the deadliest attack on the Capitol in two centuries,” the New York Times reported.

Trump responded to the hearings by doing what he does best: fuming on TRUTH Social.

“Is this the same Mitch McConnell who was losing big in Kentucky, and came to the White House to BEG me for an Endorsement and help? Without me he would have lost in a landslide. A disloyal sleaze bag!” Trump wrote in reference to footage of “Moscow Mitch” and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer calling then-Secretary of Defense Chris Miller to clear the Capitol building. “I had an election Rigged and Stolen from me, and our Country. The USA is going to Hell. Am I supposed to be happy?”

In another post, Trump wrote:

1. But Crooked Hillary Clinton, Stacey Abrams, and many others, contested their Elections – and for a far longer time than I. 2. How do they know I watched on T.V.? 3. I never said that to Kevin McCarthy, who came to Mar-a-Lago to say “hi” very early on (the Unselects don’t say this). So many lies and misrepresentations by the corrupt and highly partisan Unselect Committee!

Trump also went after congresswoman Liz Cheney (“sanctimonious loser”), CNN’s Jake Tapper (“so biased and pathetic”), and United States House of Representatives speaker Nancy Pelosi (“perhaps she was disengaged – maybe looking for her husband!”). He’s tweeting, er, truthing through the pain.

Lil Durk Joins Southside For The Revelatory ‘Save Me’ Video

Despite major success over the years, Lil Durk is constantly reminded of his realities, whether it be his hometown or the nature of the music industry. He has seen much loss despite the many wins and bears his soul on “Save Me” in collaboration with the super producer Southside.

The two are iced out, rapping along to the somber record as the video depicts broken-down neighborhoods and people who don’t have much. The Chicago rapper has a laundry list full of experiences and traumas that he conveys an air of pessimism, questioning how anyone can save him. Durk maintains a straight expression throughout the video as well, fully conveying its earnest nature.

For Southside, “Save Me” follows the April single “Hold That Heat” featuring Future and Travis Scott. The Atlanta native is gearing up for an 808 Mafia compilation album set to release later this year before he officially retires, and he has certainly come out the gate strong. Lil Durk is still on a strong run, recently sharing the 7220 (Deluxe) and one of the regular choices for a necessary guest appearance in the 2020s.

The only thing left to figure out is who will Southside link up with next.

Renee Rapp Cuts Deep On Her New Single, ‘In The Kitchen’

As a stage actress, a television actress, and a musician, Renee Rapp is a triple threat. Her debut single, “Tattoos,” which was released last month, has already pulled in over 3 million streams. Her latest single, “In The Kitchen,” follows up the story of “Tattoos,” reflecting on a relationship gone wrong.

On the piano-driven ballad, Rapp recalls a time when things were pleasant, singing, “When I walk in the kitchen, my heart hits the floor, It’s you that I’m missing, I still see a vision of us cooking dinner, and you’re holding me from behind.” She then saccharinely alludes to an accident that once took place while she was cooking, saying, “You say, ‘Please be careful, that knife is so big, and we can’t have another ER trip. We’re too young, too dumb, too in love to afford it.”

Later in the song, she tugs at the listeners heartstrings, referring to the fact that she and her ex have now gone from “strangers, to lovers, to enemies.”

In the song’s accompanying video, Rapp subverts the stereotypical image of a well put-together housewife, as she cries on the couch and in the backyard after reaching her wit’s end.

Earlier today, Rapp took to Twitter to answer some questions from fans. During the session, she revealed that the concept was creative-directed by Alyah Chanelle Scott, her co-star from The Sex Lives Of College Girls.

“I had been begging @alyahcs to creative direct for a while and she finally gave in and I’m so ducking [sic] grateful,” Rapp said. “[H]er brain is unmatched so I’ll throw this one to her— yaya?”

Dvsn Presents Many Harsh Truths In Their Bold New ‘If I Get Caught’ Video

Dvsn has spent the better part of the last year grinding out new music in Atlanta, often with legendary producers and songwriters Jermaine Dupri and Bryan Michael Cox. As they are now being managed by Love Renaissance, the group’s founder Justice is present most of the time too as dvsn makes what they have alluded to be brutally honest music, to which fans have thrown the toxic allegations their way. Well, the new video for their single “If I Get Caught” may not help.

The visual opens with Daniel Daley, dvsn’s vocalist, leaving his apartment only to be stopped by his girlfriend. She expresses concern about him going out with his friend, played by Mal from New Rory & Mal, who has women around him all the time and Daley attempts to reassure her saying by saying she likes him because he attracts women.

There is a major climax and an even more jarring twist at the end that you simply have to see, but the music video paired with the song seamlessly. “If I Get Caught,” utilizing a Jay-Z “Song Cry” sample, is an attempt at reducing one’s reaction to infidelity with the reminder that it does not mean they are not loved. The song has an anthemic chorus that carries a sense of consensus among men. “If I Get Caught” will surely get the people talking, especially with the tease of their potential next single coming in the credits of the video.

Dvsn is gearing up for their fourth studio album, with the last A Muse In Her Feelings coming in 2020. In the interim, they released the deluxe EP Amusing Her Feelings featuring Miguel and the collaborative tape Cheers To The Best Memories with Ty Dolla $ign in 2021.

Nija Encounters A Warm New Love In The Romantic Single ‘Love Like This’

The right kind of love is consuming. A person can care for many people prior, but having the proper infatuation reciprocated sets itself apart from those experiences. Nija, a highly talented songwriter, conveys this experience with ease in her new single “Love Like This.”

The 24-year-old opens the record with soft guitar strums before the drums and her commanding voice take over. “Love Like This” has a trap bounce to it but oozes R&B DNA. The New Jersey artist is audibly elated and grateful for the man she is currently with. It is a healthy dose of adoration that can play well in the car, at a party, or alone.

“Love Like This” comes just under six months after Nija’s debut EP Don’t Say I Didn’t Warn You, highlighted by “Ease My Mind (Come Over).” She also linked up with rising star Capella Grey for their ballad duet “Confujawn.” Nija has been mostly known for her songwriting contributions to the industry, working alongside Beyonce, Drake, Chris Brown, Meek Mill and Ella Mai, but she did appear as a performer on The Lion King: The Gift in 2019.

Earlier this week, Nija revealed she cowrote a song called “Cozy” for Beyoncé’s upcoming seventh studio album, Renaissance.

Doechii And SZA Dance Their Cares Away On The ‘Persuasive’ Remix

After garnering much buzz for her house-inspired ode to marijuana, “Persuasive,” Doechii has dropped the song’s remix. Joined by her labelmate, SZA, the two dance their cares away with weed-fueled energy.

The first verse remains the same as that of the original, but then SZA jumps in on the second verse, proclaiming that she feels “so alive,” sliding on the beat, and not letting anything blow her high.

In an interview with MTV News, she broke down the recording process of the original version of the song, and said she wanted something that reflected her personality and her queerness.

“We were drinking, we were dancing, we were having a good time,” she said “…I wanted something that sonically represented the feeling that I feel when I’m around my friends and people that understand me and accept me as a gay woman.”

Meanwhile, it seems like we may not be getting the “SZA summer” that we were promised this past May at the Met Gala. While we’ve gotten a few collaborations from SZA, as well as an expanded edition of her 2017 debut album, CTRL this year, we’ve yet to receive any hint of her long-anticipated sophomore album. In a since-deleted Instagram comment, she blamed her Top Dawg Entertainment labelhead, Terrence “Punch” Henderson, as well as RCA records, for the delay.

“It’s 100% punch and rca on this one,” she said. “I wanted the summer. They wanted more time. Atp I’m jus tryna have a good time stress free lol.”

Noah Lyles Broke Michael Johnson’s 200-Meter American Record With A Blistering 19.31

For 26 years, only two men — Jamaicans Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake — have posted a faster 200 meter times than Michael Johnson when he ran a 19.32 second race at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.

That race cemented Johnson’s status as one of the all-time greats in American track history after he pulled off the never-before seen 200 meter/400 meter double gold, and every other American man has been chasing that time for more than two decades. On Thursday night in Eugene, Oregon, Johnson’s American record finally fell to Noah Lyles, who defended his world title in the 200 meter with an outrageous 19.31 second race, pulling away from the field by the middle of the turn and extending that advantage down the home stretch in a wildly impressive performance.

The unofficial clock had him tying Johnson’s record, but when the official time posted it dropped the one-hundredth of a second needed to give him the American record alone. It is an incredibly impressive time, the fourth fastest in history behind a pair of Bolt runs (including what may be an untouchable 19.19) and Blake’s 19.26, and Lyles proved he’s still the top American sprinter at the 200 meter distance. Lyles’ run headlined an American sweep of the podium in the 200 meter, completing what was a wildly successful worlds for the American men on the track in short distances, as Fred Kerley likewise led an American sweep in the 100 meter earlier in the championships.

Megan Thee Stallion And Future Apply Pressure On Their New Collab, ‘Pressurelicious’

The hot girls and the city boys have a joint anthem for the summer, now that Megan Thee Stallion and Future have dropped their anticipated collaboration, “Pressurelicious.” On the HitKidd-produced track, Megan delivers brash bars, channeling the signature confidence for which we know and love her.

“Your b*tch, she regular / I’m hot, be careful / She average, I’m pressure / I’m pressurelicious,” she raps over the smooth instrumental, reminiscent of early Three 6 Mafia tracks. Elsewhere in the song, Future joins in, rapping about adderall-fueled sexcapades.

Megan first teased “Pressurelicious” in an interview with Rolling Stone last month. At the time, she previewed a few tracks from her upcoming sophomore album, which she revealed she’s spending more time than ever writing. She even shared that she does much of her writing while in the shower, rapping to instrumental tracks.

“I put my phone outside the shower but close enough to where I could still tap it,” she said. “Sh*t be getting wet all the time, f*cking up my phones. It’s a whole movie trying to write in the shower, but I keep my speaker loud and I just freestyle, and then I write it down when I get out.”

The Beavis and Butt-Head-aissance Is Here And It’s Coming For Your TikToks

Earlier this year, Beavis and Butt-Head did the universe. Now, the iconic duo is returning to television thanks to Paramount+ and the still-mangled mind of Mike Judge. But what can two miscreants who blather through music videos do in a TV landscape that no longer plays music videos? The first look clip shown at Comic-Con has the answer: mock viral TikToks.

It’s only a brief segment, but the style of comedy feels mostly the same. Like hugging an old blanket you thought you lost in childhood only to get lice from it. Beavis and Butt-Head haven’t changed, but the world around them has, and mocking a skinny dude teaching the internet how to make prison tattoo ink lands a whole lot differently than the pair scream-giggling through a Silverchair song. What’s missing is the organic flow from stumbling on Dr. Dre’s “Keep Their Heads Ringin’” music video only to realize the Beavis and Butt-Head logo was in the bottom corner. Now, the show will port an internet concept onto the TV screen.

The meat (heh heh) of the clip shows Beavis interacting with his true love, Fire, proving that Judge is still a master at pushing a joke beyond its breaking point to where it feels fresh and ridiculous all over again. In a way, that makes Beavis and Butt-Head perfect icons for nostalgia, returning with the only jokes they’ve ever had and, thankfully, refusing to grow up. What is technically the 1993-launched show’s 9th season lands on Paramount+ August 4th.

Wiz Khalifa Takes Us For A Walk Down ‘Memory Lane’ During A Performance On ‘Kimmel’

Ahead of his upcoming album, Multiverse, Wiz Khalifa stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night to perform his latest single, “Memory Lane.” The song is a far departure from the stoner rap with which he first stepped onto the scene about 15 years ago, and a more emotional cut, on which he reflects on a past relationship.

The song’s three verses are rapped, but the chorus is completely vocal-driven, as he sings, “When the days turn to nights, I keep thinking ’bout you moving on / Makes me wonder if you hear this song / Would you right the way that we went wrong?”

Not much is known about the album, however, producer Hitmaka confirmed via Instagram that he produced five of the album’s tracks.

“New @wizkhalifa Album July 29,” he said. “Got a 5 piece on here. Always fun making music wit ya brothers!!”

Later this month, Wiz will hit the road with Logic on the Vinyl Days tour, along with DJ Drama, C Dot Castro, and Fedd The God.

Check out the performance of “Memory Lane” above.

Multiverse is out 7/29 via Taylor Gang Entertainment and Asylum. Pre-save it here.
