Kalan.FrFr And Blxst Aim To Push Past The Trials And Tribulations Of Love In Their ‘No Stoppin’ Video

Los Angeles’ own Kalan.FrFr has grown to be one of the city’s newest and most promising artists and his 2021 project TwoFr 2 is an excellent reason why. Another West Coast act making waves as a fairly new face in the game is Blxst who recently released his second project Before You Go. Thankfully, it didn’t take too long for the artists to connect for a new record as they did with “No Stoppin.” Now the two return with a matching visual for their collaboration.

The new video spotlights the moments between Kalan.FrFr and Blxst and their respective lovers. The duo captures the highs but also the low moments that are sparked by their partners’ frustration with their busy lives. As a result of the later Kalan.FrFr and Blxst make sure to do all that is necessary to keep their partner happy and ensure that the love doesn’t fade away.

The new video arrives after Kalan.FrFr lent a guest verse to Bino Rideaux’s recently-released project, Sorry 4 Tha Wait II. He also teamed up with Mozzy in a video for their “Whole 100” collaboration. As for Blxst, he recently connected with Rick Ross in a visual for their “Couldn’t Wait For It” collaboration.

Even A Beloved Philadelphia Cheesesteak Business Is Helping John Fetterman Drag Dr. Oz

One of the most important congressional races in America has also been one of the most entertaining. Ever since he clinched the Republican nomination for a Pennsylvania senate seat, former TV crackpot Dr. Mehmet Oz has had to weather untold hilarious dragging from his Democratic opponent John Fetterman. Now a certain business in the Keystone State is getting in on the fun, too.

On Friday, Oz dropped one of his lame, cynical tweets, showing him in Philadelphia, patronizing two of the town’s most famous cheesesteak eateries, Pat’s and Geno’s, which are located across the street from each other and have long been locked in battle. Oz hit both of them up, which is already a bad sign. Naturally, Fetterman made fun of him, calling it a “rite of passage for every tourist” — yet another nudge about his dubious claims of Pennsylvania citizenship.

But someone else got in a funnier jab. The Twitter account for Pat’s King of Steaks replied to Oz, and couldn’t resist calling him out.

“Do you even live in Pa? And can you spell the town you live in?” they tweeted, alongside a laughing/crying emoji. When even a business to whom Oz gave some free advertising is dragging him…

It’s not clear how much these yuks have gotten to Oz — or how much they’ve impacted moderate Pennsylvania voters — but there are so many of them. Last week, Fetterman took to Cameo and enlisted no less than Jersey Shore alum “Snooki” to summon him back to the Garden State.

Bobby Shmurda Accepts The ‘Hoochie Daddy’ Title On His Quick-Paced New Single

Bobby Shmurda has been highly active with music releases recently, but it wasn’t always like that since the rapper was released from prison at the beginning of 2021. His return to music wasn’t as productive or as big as he would’ve liked and it led to him requesting and gaining his release from his former label, Epic Records. Since then, Bobby has found his groove as an independent act and it continues with the release of “Hoochie Daddy.” The track is an energetic release that spotlights Bobby’s fun spirit, one that’s been on full display thanks to videos and posts he’s shared on social media.

“Hoochie Daddy” follows recent singles that Bobby has shared over the past months which include “Get ‘Em Back,” “They Don’t Know,” and “Shmoney.” The new single also comes after Bobby shared some details about his upcoming album, Ready To Live, during an interview with HotNewHipHop. He confirmed that the project will include features from DaBaby, Rich the Kid, Meek Mill, Rowdy Rebel, 42 Dugg, Key Glock, and more. He also confirmed that the long-awaited project will arrive at some point next month.

Prior to dropping his new single, Bobby had a surprise run-in with Eminem which led to some thinking that there could be a new collaboration on the way.

You can listen to “Hoochie Daddy” in the video above.

Biden’s Bizarre Attempt To Nominate An Anti-Abortion Judge Out Of Friendship To Mitch McConnell Was Terminated By…Rand Paul?

Abortion rights in America are in jeopardy for the first time in nearly a half-century, so Democrats were a little mystified by something President Joe Biden was doing: He was quietly nominating an anti-abortion judge in Kentucky to a federal court seat. Why on earth would he do that? Out of friendship to Mitch McConnell, who’s dedicated his life to destroying his agenda. Alas, the nomination was not to be, but the person who scotched it is not who you’d expect.

As per The New York Times, another Kentucky senator, Rand Paul — the guy who doesn’t like the government helping anyone (unless it’s his constituents) — has blocked the nomination of one Chad Meredith, a member of the far right Federalist Society whose credits include successfully defending the Bluegrass State’s anti-abortion law. Paul did so via an obscure-to-laypersons senate tradition, in which a state’s senator can decide not to return a “blue slip” for nominees to federal district court judges.

It’s not yet known why Paul blocked the nomination, though McConnell postulated that it might have been a petty move. According to McConnell, Paul may have simply felt it was his turn to put forward a judicial candidate.

Whatever Paul’s motives, the move left McConnell steaming. “The net result of this is it has prevented me from getting my kind of judge out of a liberal Democratic president,” he told NYT, calling it “just utterly pointless.” He added, “The president would not have been taking a recommendation from Rand Paul, I can assure you.”

Just to recap: Biden, a president who’s been dragged by members of his own party for not doing enough to combat Republican aggression, did not yank the nomination of an anti-abortion judge because he saw the light. Instead, the day was (unwittingly) saved by a guy who regularly gets into pissy fights with Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Keldon Johnson And The Spurs Agreed To A 4-Year, $80 Million Extension

The San Antonio Spurs are in the midst of a busy summer, as the team moved Dejounte Murray at the end of June to the Atlanta Hawks for the since-released Danilo Gallinari and a bevy of draft picks. With Murray gone, Keldon Johnson is the team’s returning scorer from last season, and late on Friday night, news dropped that the Spurs plan on keeping the former first-round pick around for the next few years.

Shams Charania of The Athletic received word that Johnson and the Spurs came to terms on a contract extension. After playing out the final year of his rookie deal next year, Johnson will begin a 4-year deal that will pay him $80 million.

Johnson flashed his considerable potential during his first two years in the NBA, and last offseason, Gregg Popovich brought him to Japan as part of the gold medal-winning United States squad. He parlayed that into an impressive 2021-22 campaign in San Antonio, starting 74 of the 75 games in which he appeared and averaging a career-best 17 points and 6.1 rebounds in 31.9 minutes per game. Now, he’ll be tasked with being the face of the Spurs as they look to get back to being a consistent postseason contender in the Western Conference.

The Russo Brothers Are Cool With People Streaming Their Films, Claiming That Movie Theaters Are ‘Elitist’ And ‘Expensive’

Ever since making the second highest grossing movie of all time (not adjusted for inflation), Joe and Anthony Russo have been able to do pretty much whatever they want. And so they have. They followed Avengers: Endgame up with a crime drama (Cherry), and they followed they that up with insanely expensive thriller (the forthcoming The Gray Man). Both were made for streamers (Apple TV+ and Netflix, respectively), and while they’d prefer if people see their films on the big screen, they also have some big (albeit dubious) words for movie theaters.

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter (in which they also slam MCU haters as “juvenile”), the Russos discuss how they think the industry should move away from, as Anthony put it, “the old models,” and “reach audiences that haven’t been engaged before.” They even think studios should embrace streaming even more than they do, and treat the moviegoing experience as more of a luxury.

“A thing to remember, too, is it’s an elitist notion to be able to go to a theater. It’s very f*cking expensive,” said Joe. “So, this idea that was created — that we hang on to — that the theater is a sacred space, is bullshit. And it rejects the idea of allowing everyone in under the tent. Where digital distribution is valuable, other than what I said earlier about how it pushed diversity, is that people can share accounts; they can get 40 stories for the cost of one story.”

It should be noted that the very service that forked over $200 million for the Russos’ latest is currently losing subscribers and, therefore, money. Meanwhile, audiences have started going back to theaters in the kind of numbers seen pre-pandemic. Also, while moviegoing is more expensive than ever, it remains, as it’s been for about a century, one of the cheapest forms of public entertainment out there.

Another “old model” the Russos think should be put out to pasture? The idea of directors as chief authors of the films they make.

“Auteur filmmaking is 50 years old at this point. It was conceived in the ’70s,” Joe said. “We grew up on that. We were kids, it was really important to us. But we’re also aware that the world needs to change and the more that we try to prevent it from changing the more chaos we create. It’s not anyone’s place to reject the next generation’s ideas.”

Elon Musk’s New Plan Is To Drag His Twitter Legal Battle Out Into Next Year

If you’ve been enjoying Elon Musk’s rollercoaster Twitter deal-or-no-deal ride, there’s a chance you’ll be enjoying it for quite a bit longer. Last week, the social media giant formally sued the Tesla honcho after he tried to back out of his whopping $44 billion deal to purchase them. They sought a speedy trial, hopefully in September. But now the ever-impish Musk wants to push it back all the way to next year.

As per The New York Times, Musk’s lawyers filed a move on Friday to delay the trial all the way to February. They accused Twitter execs of rushing the court case, calling the affair a “two-month treasure hunt of delays, technical bottlenecks, evasive answers and, ultimately, refusals.” Key to their argument is Musk’s claims of excessive amounts of bots, accusing them of trying to “shroud the truth” about how many accounts are fake. It also gives him and his legal team more time to mount their case.

It’s a sharp rebuke to Twitter, who themselves have accused Musk of having “knowingly, intentionally, willfully and materially breached” their contract.

If the court accepts Musk’s request, that gives him and his frequent dueling partner Donald Trump plenty of more opportunities to duke it out on various social media services.

Zendaya May Not Be On ‘The Bear’ Anytime Soon After Her Attempt At Cooking Landed Her In The Emergency Room

Zendaya is a renaissance woman, beloved as an actress and a singer. But one thing she is not is a cook. Should anyone from The Bear ever seek to enlist her talents, they should check out some of out her recent Instagram stories, where she revealed that a recent attempt at home cooking landed her in the emergency room.

On Wednesday, Zendaya apparently attempted to cook for herself, maybe as a celebratory act after Hoovering up four whole Emmy nominations. She did not go into details about what she was cooking and with what implements. But it appears that she had a mishap, presumably with some sharp knife that did a number on her finger.

One image showed her bandaged-up finger, with a hulking mass of crimson bleeding through the gauze. “See now…this is why I don’t cook,” she wrote in the caption.

Even her P.A. Darnell Appling got in on the action. ““Never a dull moment with @zendaya no pun intended,” he wrote in his own Instagram Stories, adding, “Dear God, help me keep this little heffa safe cause she clumsy as hell.”

Zendaya later posted an image of the aftermath, writing “Baby’s first stitches lol back to never cooking again.”

So Zendaya could never hold her own with the chefs at Chicago’s The Beef. She can still take over Buffy the Vampire Slayer, long as she doesn’t accidentally stab herself with those stakes.
