Oscar-Winning Director Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s Visually Stunning ‘Bardo’ Trailer Is Set To A Beatles Classic

Alejandro González Iñárritu’s last two movies, Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) and The Revenant, were both nominated for Best Picture, with the former winning. The filmmaker also won Best Director both times, among other accomplishments (getting Leo his first Oscar). Iñárritu will try to make it three in a row with his next lengthily-titled feature, BARDO, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths.

The Netflix film is described as an “epic, visually stunning, and immersive experience,” although the reviews out of the Venice International Film Festival, where it premiered, might disagree. One thing’s for sure, though: BARDO will look stunning (and with a song from the Beatles in the trailer, the budget is probably stunning, too.)

BARDO, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths is set against the intimate and moving journey of Silverio, a renowned Mexican journalist and documentary filmmaker living in Los Angeles, who, after being named the recipient of a prestigious international award, is compelled to return to his native country, unaware that this simple trip will push him to an existential limit. The folly of his memories and fears have decided to pierce through the present, filling his everyday life with a sense of bewilderment and wonder.

With both emotion and abundant laughter, Silverio grapples with universal yet intimate questions about identity, success, mortality, the history of Mexico and the deeply emotional familial bonds he shares with his wife and children. Indeed, what it means to be human in these very peculiar times.

BARDO, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths comes to select theaters in November before being released on Netflix on December 16.

‘The Goldbergs’ Killed Off Jeff Garlin’s Character In The Season Premiere, So R.I.P. To Distracting CGI

Earlier this year, Jeff Garlin exited The Goldbergs, the 1980s-set ABC sitcom, following multiple misconduct allegations and HR investigations. To compensate for his absence, the show used some very distracting CGI wizardry to give kids (and adults) nightmares for years. Instead of entering the uncanny valley again, however, The Goldbergs killed off his character, Murray Goldberg, in Wednesday’s season 10 premiere.

In the early moments of the episode, adult Adam (voiced by narrator Patton Oswalt) informs viewers that “just a few months ago, out of nowhere, we lost my dad. We will always love you, Dad. Always. And we’ll find a way to continue on together, because after all, we’re the Goldbergs.” Murray is never seen (not unlike how Roseanne Conner’s death was handled off-screen on The Conners), only his Archie Bunker-style chair.

While letting go of most of Murray’s possessions, the family kept a reminder of him in the house as his recliner — initially discarded but then saved by Pop Pop — was turned into a glider in the nursery for Erica’s baby. “It turns out the people we say goodbye to never really leave us. But that doesn’t mean we don’t miss them,” Adam said in a voiceover toward the end of the episode.

Before the episode aired, Garlin posted on Instagram about living with bipolar depression. “Bipolar is a motherf*cker. Sometimes it’s just too much to deal with. I’m doing the best I can. This the first time that I’ve opened up about this. #bipolar,” he wrote. You can see the post below.

Kanye West ‘Absolutely’ Plans To Run For President Again After His Failed 2020 Campaign

Back in 2020, Kanye West ran for president. That did not go well — he suspects the ill-fated run may have cost him his marriage to Kim Kardashian — and shortly after announcing his candidacy, he reckoned he might try again in 2024 instead. Now, Ye has revisited that topic in a new Good Morning America interview this morning (September 22). (The full conversation is set to air later today on ABC News Live and Nightline.)

During the conversation, he said he “absolutely” plans to take another stab at running for president, although he didn’t specify when that will happen. As for why his previous campaign didn’t work out how he had hoped, West said, “That time wasn’t in God’s time.”

Speaking of religion, Ye also called himself a “radical” for wanting to promote “the idea of family, the idea of God, the idea of protecting your children’s innocence for as long as possible.” He continued:

“When you remove the love and fear of God, you open up the love and fear of everything else. And it’s easier to have sheep when people don’t have God. It’s easier to control the people if people are not controlled by God. Because then they can be controlled by how many likes they have or whatever’s happening on their TikTok or how much money or the perception that people have. But we only have one audience here and that audience is God. And He’s watching us at all times. He’s got my back.”

Kanye West Apologizes To Kim Kardashian For ‘Any Stress’ He Has Caused

In recent years, there has been a lot of tension between Kanye West and Kim Kardashian for various reasons, whether it’s related to their children or Pete Davidson or something else. Now, Ye is owning up to it in a new Good Morning America interview today (September 22).

The conversation is set to air this morning and in an advance teaser clip, West says of Kardashian, “This is the mother of my children and I apologize for any stress that I have caused.”

The tweet sharing the video also promises the interview will see Ye touch on “Kim Kardashian, fatherhood, social media, fashion, politics, and the Donda Academy.”

In another advance clip, West was asked if he feels social media is more “hurtful or beneficial” and he responded, “Oh, that’s one of my favorite questions this interview. I mean, we can use a car to rush somebody to the hospital, or we could use a car and accidentally hit somebody while we’re rushing somebody to the hospital, so it’s all in how we use it.”

The interview is set to air this morning on Good Morning America and later today on ABC News Live and Nightline. In the meantime, check out the interview teaser clips above.

Olivia Wilde Insists Harry Styles ‘Did Not Spit On’ Chris Pine And That Spitgate Was Just ‘Clickbait’

With all the drama surrounding Don’t Worry Darling, it’s easy to forget that there’s a movie at the center of it all. The off-screen situations were bountiful, though, from Shia Labeouf either quitting or getting fired from the movie to alleged beef between Florence Pugh and director Olivia Wilde to Harry Styles perhaps spitting on Chris Pine. As for Spitgate, as it has been dubbed, both Styles and Pine have denied it actually happened, and so too did Wilde on The Late Show last night (September 21).

During the interview, Stephen Colbert asked Wilde if Styles spat on Pine at the film’s Venice Film Festival premiere and she responded, “He did not, but I think it’s a perfect example of, like, people will look for drama anywhere they can. Harry did not spit on Chris, in fact.”

Colbert playfully interjected, “Only time will tell.” Wilde laughed and continued, “No, he really didn’t!” Colbert joked again, replying, “Well, we shall see.” Through more laughter, Wilde said, “No, we’ve seen it.” Colbert added, “Science isn’t in.” Wilde pressed on, “And that is exactly what I mean: People can look at a video that shows evidence of someone not spitting on someone else and they’ll still see what they want to see, and that is the creation of drama, and that is clickbait.”

Ime Udoka Could Miss The Entire Season For An ‘Improper Intimate’ Relationship With A Celtics Staffer

The Boston Celtics made a big leap in Ime Udoka’s first season as head coach making it to the NBA Finals, and there is considerable optimism for where the Celtics can go in his second season, as they are among the title favorites coming into the 2022-23 season.

However, it’s possible the Celtics will have to follow the lead of a different head coach for at least a portion of next season, after ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Udoka is facing a potentially “significant suspension” for violating organizational guidelines. There were plenty of rumors and speculation about what this meant, given Woj reported it was not a violation of NBA rules and was specifically an internal situation with the Celtics.

Later on Wednesday night, Shams Charania of The Athletic arrived with the details of the situation, reporting Udoka had an affair with a woman on the Celtics team staff, citing it as an “improper intimate and consensual relationship.”

This situation is not that different than what happened in Minnesota when former GM Gersson Rosas was found to be having an extramarital affair with a staffer that, when coupled with reports of a hostile workplace environment, got him fired. However, it doesn’t appear Udoka’s affair will have the same result of him losing his job, but will cost him some considerable time away from the team, some checks, as well as make public his unfaithfulness to wife Nia Long.

Per Woj, the team has discussed suspending Udoka for the entire season, and as of now it’s unclear who exactly would step into his place.

That would be a considerable shakeup for one of the East’s frontrunners, and Udoka’s standing with the organization that seemed rock solid after leading them to the Finals now feels far more unstable.

John Fetterman Got In On The Adam Levine Sext Joke Train, Using It, Of Course, To Troll Dr. Oz

Did Maroon 5’s Adam Levine really have an affair with a model almost half his age? Did he really ask if she was cool with him naming his forthcoming third child after her? Levine says no. But 23-year-old model Sumner Stroh says yes. Wherever the truth lies, it resulted in other women sharing alleged sexts Levine sent them, all of them embarrassingly basic. It led to lots and lots of social media yuks. And one of them happened to be a certain congressional candidate who used it troll his easily dunked-on opponent.

That person, of course, is John Fetterman, current lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania who’s running for the state’s vacating Senate seat. For months he’s been relentlessly, creatively dragging the Republican candidate, Dr. Oz. Fetterman and his team rarely pass up an opportunity to belittle him, and this time was no different.

Fetterman selected one of Levine’s dingbattiest (alleged!) messages, where he wrote, “F*ckkkkkkk” followed by “I’d do anything for it.” Fetterman threw in the caption, “Dr.Oz trying to get money, fame + power.”

Last week, Fetterman broadened his attack zone, especially after learning that Doug Mastriano — the pretty terrifying MAGA candidate who could very well be the state’s governor — also had deep Jersey roots, including being registered to vote there until only recently. Could Fetterman resist making a Jersey Boys joke involving him and Oz? Fetterman could not.

Kiana Lede Reflects On An ‘Irresponsible’ Past Lover In Her Somber New Video

Kiana Lede doesn’t hold back in her new video for “Irresponsible.” The single is heartfelt and painful, as she reflects on a failed relationship with a past lover who bit off more than he could chew, and the accompanying somber video follows suit.

Though the I Am Woman artist is dressed to the nines, she is hardly in a festive mood. The video shows scenes of her embracing her lover and other scenes where her face conveys crippling sadness. She looks into a mirror at the woman she has become due to giving her all to someone who could not reciprocate. “You were someone I thought was careful with me / Instead you left me in pieces / If this ain’t where you wanted to be, you should’ve at least manned up and just let me be,” she sings.

“Irresponsible” is Kiana Lede’s third release of the year, following her collaboration with Destin Conrad, entitled “Unpredictable.” The Phoenix artist shared the EP I Am Woman back in March, which included “Cancelled.,” “Forfeit.,” featuring Lucky Daye, and “Chocolate.,” featuring Ari Lennox, all of which appeared on her 2020 album Kiki. “None For You.” was part of the deluxe version of Kiki and “If You Hate Me” came from her 2019 EP Myself.

Report: Celtics Coach Ime Udoka Is Facing A Potential ‘Significant Suspension’ For Violating ‘Organizational Guidelines’

Ime Udoka cut his teeth for years as an assistant coach in the NBA before becoming the head coach of the Boston Celtics last year. After a rocky start to the campaign, Udoka and the Celtics turned things around, made their way through the Eastern Conference, and earned a berth in the NBA Finals before losing to the Golden State Warriors.

The Celtics have extremely high hopes for the 2022-23 campaign, but apparently, the team might have to win games this season without their head coach in the fold. According to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Udoka is facing a potentially lengthy suspension from the team “for an unspecified violation of organizational guidelines.”

Wojnarowski noted that the Celtics’ decision-makers are still attempting to figure out what the punishment will be for Udoka.

Udoka suited up for five separate NBA teams and a number of squads in Europe during his playing career. Following his retirement as a player in 2012, Udoka joined Gregg Popovich’s staff with the San Antonio Spurs, one of the teams for which he played. He spent time in San Antonio, Philadelphia, and Brooklyn before getting the Boston job last year. Udoka holds a 51-31 record as a head coach.
