Who Has The Most Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Inductions?

The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is one of the most prestigious honors in music. Each year, a new group of well-known and influential musicians is inducted. However, many special rock stars have entered at least more than once. And only one musician has been accepted into the Hall Of Fame three times. The answer might surprise you…

“To be eligible for induction as an artist (as a performer, composer, or musician) into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the artist must have released a record, in the generally accepted sense of that phrase, at least 25 years prior to the year of induction; and have demonstrated unquestionable musical excellence,” the HOF’s president, Terry Stewart, wrote in 2010. “We shall consider factors such as an artist’s musical influence on other artists, length and depth of career and the body of work, innovation and superiority in style and technique, but musical excellence shall be the essential qualification for induction.”

Eric Clapton is the only artist to be inducted three times. In 1992, he entered the Hall Of Fame for being a member of the band, Yardbirds. The following year, Clapton was inducted again, this time as a member of Cream. Finally, by 2000, he was accepted a third time — and his first as a solo artist.

All four members of The Beatles are double inductees. They were initially inducted in 1988. John Lennon entered as a solo artist in 1994, with Paul McCartney giving him his induction speech. McCartney received his solo induction in 1999. George Harrison followed suit, with Ringo Starr being the last Beatle to enter twice.

Stevie Nicks was also a multi-inductee for Fleetwood Mac in 1998 and her solo artistry in 2019. She is the first woman to receive two inductions. “I’m hoping… that what I am doing is opening up the door for other women to go like, ‘Hey, man. I can do it!’” Nicks said in her speech.

A few other notable double inductees into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame include Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel, Curtis Mayfield, Lou Reed, Tina Turner, Dave Grohl, Michael Jackson, Rod Stewart, Carole King, and many more. A complete list is available here.

Ahead of their upcoming final album, Brockhampton has dropped their much-anticipated comeback single. On “Big P*ssy,” Kevin Abstract delivers outlandish bars, over horn-driven production by Bearface.

NLE Choppa Namedrops ‘Ice Spice’ On His New Song

NLE Choppa’s new song, “Ice Spice,” is out now. Relying on his fast rhymes, he never once loses momentum on the almost four-minute-long track. The chorus is especially catchy. On it, he namedrops the title’s inspiration in fellow rapper Ice Spice. “Bad b*tch look like Ice Spice / She eating d*ck / She the real munch,” Choppa raps, alluding to her viral song, “Munch.”

Spice herself even responded on social media after seeing he used her likeness for a cartoon cover art.

On the verses, Choppa opens the song by detailing his wild life and money-making ways. “Take a risk everyday with my life immaroll that dice like ten 4 / Go to the bank deposit money every week innat b*tch til I break that h*e,” he rhymes. “Ian been sleep inna good damn week I’m this and that but you can’t say broke / Me and my brother had bunk beds I was the on bottom of it damn near to the floor.”

He also dropped a music video for the track. In it, Choppa shows off his car collection and hangs with the previously-referenced bad b*tches. He hits the studio with his friends and collaborators. He even attends a basketball game, specifically the Memphis Grizzlies, in a jersey and a custom “NLE” chain. Basically put, it is a major flex.

NLE Choppa is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Beyoncé Trolls The Hive Over ‘Renaissance’ Visuals

Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment social media account made an… interesting post tonight. After dropping her club anthem album, Renaissance, in July, many fans have been impatiently waiting for her to drop some visuals for it. Using Bey’s Halloween costume as characters from The Proud Family, they joked that fans are going to be OLD before they finally get a music video — or a longer visual component.

Her last albums, 2016’s Lemonade and 2013’s self-titled record, were both visual ones. Lemonade was jointly released with a 65-minute film that premiered on HBO. Before that, Beyoncé was centered visually around the process of making the music videos, especially for songs such as “Flawless” and “Rocket.” In 2020, she also dropped Black Is King, a “visual album” that dropped on Disney+.

Given that Renaissance was next in line in Bey’s discography, it only seemed fitting she would’ve shared something by now. However, it has frequently been teased that something is planned. She recently sent her collaborator, Syd, a thank you note that raised some eyebrows. “Thank you for contributing so much to the film,” the card read.

In August, Beyoncé also dropped a possible visual teaser for her Renaissance track, “I’m That Girl.”

Drake Posts Straight-Up Hentai In His Efforts To Promote ‘Her Loss’ With 21 Savage

Drake and 21 Savage‘s comprehensive rollout of their collaborative album, Her Loss continues. Following a fake promo for NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts series, as well as an imagined Vogue cover, Drake has taken to Instagram to continue promoting the upcoming project.

His latest comes by way of a series of bizarre Instagram stories, in which he posted screencaps of anime porn. At the time of writing, the hentai screenshots were still up on his story, and fans immediately caught wind. You can see one of the NSFW stories here (if you must).

In other porn-related Drake news, one of the questions Howard Stern asked in one of the pieces of fake promo the duo has shared was in regard to Drake’s favorite category of porn. He answered, praising women performing oral sex on men.

“Top,” Drake said. “[The] highest tier of top givers. That’s really what I’m consistently on a daily basis tuned into. Those are like the real superstars.”

Of all of the promo the two have done ahead of the album, Drake’s Instagram stories appear to be the most polarizing.

“Why is Drake posting Hentai on his IG Story… YOU HAVE AN ALBUM COMING OUT IN 3 HOURS CAN WE BE SERIOUS???,” said one Twitter user.

Her Loss is out 11/4 via Republic and Epic.

Tate McRae And Tiësto Team Up For A New Dance Anthem ’10:35′

Tate McRae and Tiësto joined forces for a new song, “10:35.” The dance anthem shines with McRae’s crystal-clear vocals — as the instrumental builds anticipation. Lyrically, it details not being afraid when you’re in a relationship.

Even more hypnotic is their music video, which was filmed at Dubai’s Atlantis The Royal as part of a collaboration with the luxury property. McRae receives several seamless outfit changes throughout the video, as a few background dancers join her. Tiësto appears most prominently at the end, where he DJ’s to a crowd of enthusiastic listeners.

“I’m very excited to be partnering with this iconic new property,” Tiësto shared in a statement. “Tate and I wanted to create a song that captured the energy of an experience at Atlantis The Royal, and I’m proud to say the feeling of 10:35 and this property are both infectious! So excited for the world to finally hear it.”

“I’m happy to announce I’m doing a partnership with the Atlantis The Royal property in Dubai with Tiësto,” McRae added. “It’s always exciting to branch out and work with different brands and artists. The music video is unlike anything I’ve seen before, and the hotel is just unreal.”

Jessica Chastain and Michael Shannon Shine As Country Music Royalty In The Trailer For ‘George & Tammy’

George Jones and Tammy Wynette’s relationship was like a country song. Sad, rough, and melodic with two divorce filings. “Mr. and Mrs. Country” dominated airwaves throughout the 1960s and 1970s, and their marriage was profoundly intertwined with their success on stage and in the recording booth.

Director Abe Sylvia (The Eyes of Tammy Faye) is harnessing that artistic genius and relationship drama for the Showtime series George & Tammy. Sylvia, firmly entering the Tammy’s Only phase of his career, has a unique eye for real-world tragedy illuminated by the spotlight of intense fame. And since he’s pulled in Jessica Chastain and Michael Shannon in the lead roles, the fuse of the dynamite is already burning.

Cut to a stirring rendition of Wynette’s “Stand By Your Man,” the trailer is an outstanding look at a very bumpy ride filled with iconic tunes, despair, and second chances.

The series, which launches December 4th, also features peerless character actors Walton Goggins (was there a doubt?) and Pat Healy, as well as Hell Or High Water breakout Katy Mixon.

It looks fantastic. The only question is whether their budget allowed for the hair to get as large as necessary. The trailer boasts some good looks, but there’s still room to go even higher.

We’re Picking Winners For Week 9 Of The 2022 NFL Season

The midpoint of the 2022 NFL season is nearly here, and the sledding is tough. Candidly, our NFL offerings this season have been a mess, perhaps due to some negative regression after five consecutive seasons with winning records in this space. Week 8 was no different with a maddening 2-3 performance but we’ll keep grinding with another five-game slate in Week 9.

Before we roll through the picks, let’s take stock.

  • Week 8: 2-3
  • 2022 Season: 18-22

Come get these winners.

Washington Commanders (+3.5) over Minnesota Vikings

We’re getting back to fundamentals with maybe the most hideous play on the board. Minnesota is 6-1 overall and flying high, while Washington isn’t exactly lighting the world on fire. However, the Vikings have won the last five games by eight points or fewer, and Minnesota’s defense has enjoyed some positive fortune this season. I do understand not wanting to back Washington here, but it’s the only side we’ll take.

Los Angeles Chargers (-3) over Atlanta Falcons

Full disclosure, I’m a Falcons fan. It’s been a wild ride to 4-4 for Atlanta, and the offense is far more efficient than anyone (including myself) projected. Don’t that let stop you from realizing that the Falcons are terrible on defense, which is notable in this game. The Chargers are missing wide receiver weapons, but Justin Herbert exists. Los Angeles also has the best ATS record (17-10) in the NFL as a road team since the start of the 2019 season, and I roundly fade the Chargers at home while buying them on the road. That applies here, and we’re also buying low on Los Angeles while selling the (mild) buzz in Atlanta.

TEASER: Cincinnati Bengals (-1) over Carolina Panthers and Jacksonville Jaguars (+7.5) over Las Vegas Raiders

We hit the semi-weekly teaser in Week 8 and we’re going to back to it. I have substantial confidence in the Bengals, even without Ja’Marr Chase, bouncing back and taking care of business at home against Carolina. Jacksonville may be a bit more perilous, but the Jags have been competitive even in losses, and that’s a side I like at home against the scuffling Raiders.

Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs UNDER 46.5 points

At the time of this post, we don’t know who’s playing quarterback for Tennessee. Malik Willis is a substantial downgrade from Ryan Tannehill in terms of spread value, but either way, this under looks appetizing. Tennessee has every reason to attempt to control the clock and shorten the game by playing quite slowly. Kansas City’s defense is fully capable of keeping Tennessee in check even if Tannehill plays, and the Chiefs won’t need to keep the pedal on the floor to win.

Baltimore Ravens and New Orleans Saints UNDER 48 points

Baltimore’s defensive numbers are a touch scary, but this number is too high. The Ravens will grind it out, as they usually do on the ground, and the Saints are generally a team I prefer to lean under with. 48 is a fairly key number that I’d want to grab, but I like it there. We have our principles.

Andy Serkis Sheds Some Light On His ‘Andor’ Character’s Counterintuitive Backstory

Andor shocked the world when it unveiled Andy Serkis playing a supporting role, sporting some sort of humanoid face I assume was built entirely by motion capture balls and CGI. He plays Kino Loy, an old salt at Narkina 5, where Cassian (Diego Luna) has been shipped away from doing all sorts of stuff that the Empire isn’t keen on. In an interview with Collider, Serkis revealed that he invented a backstory for his seemingly apathetic, I-just-wanna-get-out-of-here curmudgeon, and it’s a 180 degree spin. It turns out that Empire jails can change a person.

Serkis’s vision for the character was as a union guy through and through — someone who supported his colleagues and made noise speaking up for workers’ rights. Then, prison happened.

“When he was incarcerated, he then almost sheds any desire to look out for other people apart from himself,” Serkis explained. “Just do his time and get out. To try and get out and just survive the sentence, the torture, the desensitization. I think it was that desensitization that made me perhaps have that slightly lost but kind of hardened and toughened shell.”

As with all things Andor, the layers here are gorgeous. Serkis has always been a thoughtful performer, and this only adds to the depth of what he’s doing on the fascism-exploring series. Plus, any escape attempt his character makes can be called Operation Kino as a nice little two-fold present for movie nerds.

Turns Out Netflix’s Ad-Supported Plan Is At Least 10% Worse Than Previously Thought Due To Many Popular Shows And Movies Not Being Available On It

Netflix‘s ad-based subscription tier launched in all intended major markets today, and it’s already looking like customers should pay close attention to fine print (that will not be included when purchasing). In the most generous read on the situation, Netflix has created an option for people to pay a little less in money and pay a little more in their attention spans to companies trying to get their money. It’s a classic TV model, and mostly we’re all upset because we thought we’d destroyed it and left it for the octogenarians still wandering the wasteland of original episodes of NCIS. But is it really that bad? Probably not.

Except for the bad part. As Variety reports, you don’t get all of Netflix when you buy the ad-supported Netflix.

Seriously.

You’re paying for ads and 10% less Netflix choices. That includes losing access to a lot of shows that most people probably want. That list includes Arrested Development, House of Cards (their own show!), New Girl, The Good Place, and several more. Some movies, like Skyfall and The Imitation Game, also disappear from your screen options with the ad-based option. Plus, there’s no telling if and when this list will expand.

This is a combination of one of the worst elements of the streaming era (figuring out where and when TV shows and movies are available) and a shoddy subscription model, creating a beast that’s more than a wee exploitative. How can you reliable tell potential customers what they’ll have access to when they sign up? And what’s the point of removing access to those shows anyway?

Boo-urns. This is the bad place.
