Chance The Rapper Reunites With Supa Bwe To Remind Us All That ‘ACAB’

Two years removed from the 2020 uprisings over the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, it doesn’t seem like much has changed in the US. Calls to defund police departments across the nation were more or less ignored (or outright defied), and in just one month, the number of headlines reporting police shootings of citizens is frankly kind of alarming.

Thus, Chicago rapper Supa Bwe has returned with his first new song of the year, reuniting with his old friend Chance The Rapper to remind us that “ACAB.” The new song, built over a plodding beat and featuring additional guest appearances from 7000 and Maryland underground rap rising star Redveil, takes the corrupt institution to task, with all four rappers calling out the overall failure to honor the “protect and serve” motto throughout the past few… well… forever.

According to Supa Bwe’s Instagram, the song is the first single from his upcoming project No Thanks, which is also his first project since 2019’s Jaguar. 2019 also contained “Rememory,” Supa’s last collaboration with Chance The Rapper, on the Just Say Thank You EP. Meanwhile, Chance recently expanded his own collaboration catalog, teaming up with Dionne Warwick on the soul legend’s “Nothing’s Impossible.” While he hasn’t been as busy on the music front since dropping The Big Day in 2019, there’s no time like the present for him to get busy on a follow-up.

Chris Paul ‘Could Not Shoot At All’ After Hurting His Shoulder During The Suns-Lakers Playoff Series

During Game 1 of the playoff series between the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers last season, Chris Paul injured his right shoulder and had to leave the game for a period of time. The injury clearly hampered him offensively, as he scored just 20 points on 21 shots across the initial three games.

During a recent appearance on JJ Redick’s podcast, “The Old Man & The Three,” Paul detailed just how severe and limiting the shoulder issue was for him. He labeled it “probably one of the craziest injuries” of his career because he “would dribble and the ball wouldn’t come back up,” due to the lack of strength in his arm.

“It was the scariest thing ever,” Paul said. “I would dribble. ‘Whoa, why am I losing the ball?’ ”

At one point during Game 1, he said he made a shot by “literally” throwing the ball into the hoop.

“I, like, turned and looked at my brother,” Paul said. “I was like, ‘I don’t know how the hell that just went in.’”

In Game 2, Paul said he doesn’t know why the Lakers guarded him, explaining that he physically “could not shoot at all” and “could not raise [his] arm.”

Paul didn’t know whether Los Angeles was aware of his hindrance, citing that defenders kept adjusting their coverage, unsure of exactly how much the veteran star had to offer offensively.

“In that series, I wasn’t doing shootaround,” Paul said. “I wasn’t touching a ball. I wasn’t doing anything until the game.”

Later, he reiterated that head coach Monty Williams told him prior to Game 4 that Paul wouldn’t be playing, yet Paul refused to sit out and said Williams could bench him if necessary. As the story goes, Paul played, scored 18 points and dished out nine assists in a win. Phoenix tied the series at two before routing the shorthanded Lakers in Games 5 and 6 to clinch the series.

Derwin James Jr. Explains Why This Season Has Him So Excited About The Chargers Future

Derwin James Jr. has been a star on the football field since high school, when he was a consensus 5-star recruit who eventually signed with the Florida State Seminoles. The only thing that’s kept him from being one of the most productive players at whatever level he’s been on has been injuries, as his sophomore season in Tallahassee got wiped out by a meniscus tear and he played just five games in his second season in the NFL due to a foot injury.

When he’s on the field, James is a game breaker on the back end of the defense, earning Pro Bowl honors in both of his healthy NFL seasons thus far. He has a great chance at being named an All-Pro for the second time in his career later this year. The Chargers came mere seconds away from a trip to the Playoffs this year, as they rather famously just needed a tie against the Raiders in Week 18 to reach the postseason, but even with the disappointment of how the season ended, James sees nothing but a bright future ahead in L.A.

Uproxx got a chance to catch up with James this week over Zoom, as he was in Las Vegas for Pro Bowl festivities, including the Madden Bowl in which he teamed up with Nick Chubb to represent the AFC against Justin Jefferson and Micah Parsons from the NFC. That competition will air Saturday, February 5 at 6 p.m. ET on NFL social channels and the EA Madden Twitch account, as they played on the big screen at Allegiant Stadium. We got to talk with James about his season, why he believes so much in coach Brandon Staley and quarterback Justin Herbert, and how his injuries have taught him about himself.

First off, how are you feeling and what does it mean to be in Vegas for another Pro Bowl?

Man, first of all, feeling good man. Excited to be out here. You know, it’s an honor — my second Pro Bowl. I’m excited. Got the family are here, man, and I’m just soaking it all in.

Coming back this year off of injury, what was the year that you had when were sidelined like? And how do you try to stay engaged while you’re rehabbing and be able to come back as strong as you did this year?

Man you find out a lot about yourself through the hard times, and I feel like I learned a lot about myself. I grew and I just said like, I’m not gonna let this stop me. So whatever I can do to get stronger, come back from it, I wanted to do that, and I think I’m doing an OK job doing that.

Absolutely. You got to do the the Madden Bowl here in Vegas and what’s that experience like, getting to play with Nick Chubb and go up against Micah and Jet?

Man, I had so much fun last night man with those guys, playing on one of the biggest gaming stages in the world, represent EA and our AFC side and NFC side. We was just excited to be out there, you know, one of the four guys that was out there and so it was very exciting. Having Ocho out there, Marshawn was amazing, Charissa too. Everybody was just having a good time.

Have you ever played on the stadium screen like that?

Never in my life, boy. Like it was so many TVs in front of me. So we had like 7-8 small, regular TVs, and then we had this one big TV. I’m like, I don’t know which to look at like, know what I mean? So it was pretty cool.

Who’s the best Madden player on the Chargers? Cause I know Keenan Allen’s a big Madden guy too.

Not including myself?

Not including yourself, because I assume that you would say yourself?

Oh, yeah, I like me. But if it ain’t me then I say probably Keenan. He’s pretty good.

I want to get your general thoughts on this past season for you guys in L.A. Obviously had ups and downs and came just short of the playoffs. But when you take a look back now it’s been a few weeks, what are your thoughts on the season you guys just had?

I’m excited, man. Because I feel like just looking at everything that’s going on around the NFL and to have the security we have at quarterback, we know he’s gonna be what he’s going to be — what he already is — always gives you a chance and always gives you opportunity. So we just gotta build for more. We didn’t end how we want it to end but I feel like we got a great team and we one or two plays away from still playing today. So I mean, we got to just keep working hard and you know, just take that next step as a team.

Yeah, I was gonna ask, is there anything that you can see as what is that next step? Is it just finishing some of those games because you had a bunch that were close?

Yeah, finishing those games, because I look back on it on the season. I think 14 of our games were fourth quarter games — 14 or 15 of our games were fourth quarter games and one possession games. So we gotta just be able to man to give ourselves that comfort room, you know. Whether we’re up 10 or 12 or something to where, I mean, we could just finish those games.

This was the first season with Coach Staley. What did he bring to this team that makes you excited about what y’all can do next year having another year and comfort in what he’s asking you guys to do?

I feel like he brought aggression, belief. I feel like we’re a team, we closer. I just feel like he just brought everything. He’s really the whole package. And I feel like we’re gonna do a lot of great things. I don’t want to just sit up here and just talk about that, but I’m just like, he really the guy, man. And I feel like we picked the right guy for the job and the results will eventually finish how we want them to finish but no, we building here still.

Finally, as you look forward towards your offseason, obviously you’ll take some time to rest and recuperate. How do you go about planning, your offseason training and trying to continue to add to your repertoire so you can be back in the Pro Bowl again next year?

Really just like you said, man getting the body back right. Because, you know, it’s a long three, four, five months of the season man, and just getting the body ready to do it again. So that’s what it is constantly, man. Just getting reset in the body, reprogramming it. Whatever you need to get fixed or anything, just making sure everything’s good that way when the season comes, you don’t have nothing sneaking up on you or popping up, and you can just go play your best.

All The Reasons Why ‘And Just Like That…’ Is Secretly A Horror Show

(Spoilers from And Just Like That… will be found below.)

This week, HBO Max wrapped up the first season of the Sex And The City revival, And Just Like That…. First and foremost, the show declared that inclusivity was the name of the game, so we received several new lady characters, most of whom represented communities of color. And let’s just say that the effort was a transparent one. Most of these characters failed to resonate due to surface-level writing. They appeared to be injected for the sole purpose of making us miss Samantha less and showing that Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda weren’t totally vacuous.

Yet Carrie’s still shoe-obsessed and spends more on her wardrobe than a small nation’s GDP, Charlotte’s still hyper-controlling of every aspect in her environment, and Miranda is still, well, an unhappy mess. Not much has changed there, although real estate agent Seema Patel was at least vaguely interesting, and Che Diaz horrified the masses. Speaking of which, the franchise always aimed for drama within its comedic overtones, but let’s just say that this revival wasn’t meant to be taken too seriously.

With that said, let’s have some fun and talk about why And Just Like That… has some horror flavor. No, really. Several spooky things happened!

And Just Like That Peloton
HBO Max

The Reappearing Peloton: By now, you’ve either heard about or seen the dramatic death of Mr. Big. Carrie found him while he was dying of a heart attack after a ride, and Peloton had to issue a big statement about how they had no idea that the bike would be used in that way, and it got real ugly with plunging stock prices and so on. Well, this show kept driving the Peloton into the ground. Above, you can see Carrie’s return to her marital home to gaze at the bike, which she then gave to a doorman.

Done and done, right? That Peloton issue was taken care of. No more reminders of how Chris Noth’s cad of a character bit the dust, nor did Carrie have to think about the bizarre inheritance that he left his ex-wife (who he cheated on with Carrie) or the fact that he kept all of his passwords secret. Carrie can shove those ashes into a closet and live in blissful memories of her own making, but maybe not?

Surprise, surprise, the bike reappeared later that episode.

And Just Like That Peloton

Granted, the Peloton surfaced because the unaware real estate agent character decided that a bike would pull the room together, but still, it’s spooky stuff.

And on a related note, Carrie believed that Big was telling her not to kiss another man by turning her reading lamp on while she slept. Carrie then insisted that she’s not into “woo woo” beliefs, but damn, girlfriend actually believed that she had a possessed lamp because Big was smoking a cigar in Heaven and sending a message to his widow.

And Just Like That
HBO Max

The Exorcist Date: Speaking of possessed, Carrie went on an ill-advised date that ended in a stew of bodily fluids. She decided to “get back out there” with Peter the Math Teacher, who quickly reveals that he was recently widowed. To lighten the mood, Carrie decides that they could use some booze, so they apparently drink their asses off at this fancy restaurant. They stumble out to the curb, so happy, and proceed to projectile vomit everywhere. This is full-on Linda Blair stuff, without the spinning head but with Carrie stepping into the puke while wearing her precious Manolos. There’s her real horror.

Some additional WTF here: the dress that Carrie wore on this date has now been dubbed as the new “Carrie dress” and held out as iconic by fashionistas everywhere. The haute couture/puke combo is so hot right now.

And Just Like That
HBO Max

The Lost Tampon Issue: Lord, I don’t think I could handle having Charlotte as a mother. She’s so high strung and focused on appearances, and everything must be perfect. Charlotte pretty much pushed Lily into using tampons, and there was a horrible scene where a teenager was trying to insert one while Charlotte was doing some meditative breathing to encourage vagina relaxation. Not great, mom. And then the string got lost, which is a perfectly valid reason for Lily to freak out, but oblivious Charlotte kept urging her to check a “tushy crack,” and that resulted in this very dramatic, slasher-movie-type declaration. It’s worthy of a jump scare, I tell ya.

And Just Like That
HBO Max

Aw Geez, Poor Freaking Steve Brady: The official early response to the shouty incarnation of Miranda’s husband was that he’s partially deaf, and this affliction was based upon actor David Eigenberg’s real-life experience, but that doesn’t explain how the revival metaphorically pushed Steve’s face into the ground at every opportunity. The new show painted him as a pathetic doofus, and if he was really in some horror movie, Steve would have been the first character knifed by a serial killer, right after he dutifully and thanklessly set up everyone’s tents in the woods. That’s not fair for several reasons, and Steve was also humiliated on a delicate subject.

This has to do with Miranda’s initial bout of cheating with Che Diaz. We will discuss this affair (on Miranda’s behalf) more further down in this piece, but let’s just say that Miranda requested that Steve do something that she and Che had done. And Steve decided, very thoughtfully, to wash his hands before doing so. That’s actually hygienic and shows that he cared about Miranda, but nope, this turned Miranda off. She wanted spontaneity and excitement, goddamnit. Like everything else, Steve was only prioritizing Miranda’s well-being, and she saw this as a negative. And that’s frankly awful.

In the end, Miranda admitted her affair, and Steve wished her well before later telling Carrie that he’d never take his wedding ring off despite the divorce. And that’s perhaps the saddest moment in this whole revival: Steve Brady deserved better than someone who settled for him, and that’s how Miranda’s always seen him, even throughout those silly movies. Steve’s not only an adept bartender but a business owner and someone who was able to swiftly take apart a sink to rescue a ring for Carrie. He deserves so much more than what Miranda and the revival dealt to him.

And Just Like That Samantha
HBO Max

The Text Chain With Samantha: One of the final scenes in this show revealed that Samantha began answering Carrie’s texts (I was proud of Miss Jones for resisting earlier, given their falling out), and of course, Samantha cracked a dick joke about Mr. Big. Then she actually agreed to meet Carrie, who had just dumped Big’s ashes over a Parisian bridge, for drinks. Just. Like. That. (Weird side question: if Carrie could believe that her lamp was haunted, why not the phone? Ghost Samantha would be cool.)

Nope, I’m not buying that Samantha would go there. Also, Kim Cattrall made it very clear that she wants zero involvement in this reboot, which left itself wide open for a second season. And this text chain feels like a way to generate a “Will Samantha return for Season 2” conversation. Perhaps I’ve needlessly contributed to this conversation, but I feel confident that the answer to that question would be a resounding “no.”

Stay strong, Kim Cattrall.

And Just Like That
HBO Max

Hey, It’s Che Diaz: You know this subject had to happen. Che Diaz has been a subject of controversy since this revival began. Her signature greeting (the heading of this section) became a beacon of the backlash with Twitter users literally tweeting horror movie stills to stress how Che, the character portrayed by Sara Ramirez, rolls out like a horror villain. It happened quickly, too, and it’s all the more unfortunate because the non-binary Che (who prefers the pronoun “they”) was one of many characters meant to boost the revival’s diversity, yet they’re profoundly unlikable.

Che began the show as Carrie’s podcasting boss, but they’re also an obnoxious stand-up comic and a self-admitted narcissist. Miranda falls into her worshipful orbit while looking for “something more” beyond Steve. Actually, it was damn clear from their first meeting that Miranda and Che would hook up, and yep, the ended up “groundbreaking” in the franchise with a queer sex scene, which is one of the worst sex scenes in the history of television. Poor Carrie, who was recovering from surgery, was left peeing on herself in bed when Miranda and Che got it on (in the way that she later asked Steve to do so), very loudly, in the kitchen and in full view.

It’s scarier than anything Stephen King could’ve dreamed up in one of his early novels. And it’s an unpleasant encounter to watch for many reasons (there’s no chemistry whatsoever), here’s some more madness: Che referred to Miranda as “Rambo,” and that was anything but accurate. Instead, Miranda became subservient to Che while dropping her marriage and life and her 100%-rare internship at the Human Rights Watch, all to follow Che to California. The real Miranda would never do so, so this feels like some body-thief horror. Sure it sounds like I’m exaggerating, but for real, the writers and the executive-producing three lead characters didn’t follow up properly on Miranda. Or Steve. And Che Diaz is taking all the blame, which isn’t fair. Che Diaz only deserves half of the blame.

HBO Max’s ‘And Just Like That’ is currently streaming the first full season.

Babyface Ray’s Debut Album ‘Face’ Aims To Bridge The Gap Between Detroit And The World Beyond

The RX is Uproxx Music’s stamp of approval for the best albums, songs, and music stories throughout the year. Inclusion in this category is the highest distinction we can bestow and signals the most important music being released throughout the year. The RX is the music you need, right now.

Last year, I wrote that Babyface Ray was one of the artists who could have made the 2021 XXL Freshman list. With the release of his debut album, Face, last week via Wavy Gang and Empire, that assessment looks closer than ever to becoming a reality for the 2022 list (not to brag or anything). While it’s not a perfect project by any means, Face demonstrates Ray’s star power, illuminating an artist with all the tools to make the leap from promising underground talent to a bonafide hitmaker.

The word that best describes Ray’s unique approach to rhythm and rhyme is dispassionate. Although he’s very much a product of the frenetic Detroit underground scene, taking bits and pieces from the city’s diverse patchwork of sounds and styles, his cadence is more controlled than the frenetic pace demonstrated by other members of his cohort like Sada Baby or Icewear Vezzo. Likewise, his wordplay is similarly low-key, sans the over-the-top punchlines favored by his peers.

Instead, he sounds not exactly world-weary, but weathered, as though he’s seen and done it all – or near enough to it – and has ceased to be impressed, awed, or dismayed by the facts of the street-worn narratives he relays. Whether he’s getting money on “6 Mile Show” with Icewear Vezzo or patting himself on the back with G Herbo on “Blood Sweat & Tears,” Ray’s disposition comes across as though he’s been on the job long enough to see little change except for the faces around him. The business itself stays the same.

Maybe that’s because he’s low-key a veteran of the indie rap grind himself; prior to his latest, he’d self-released 10 projects dating back to 2015. It took 2021’s Unfuckwitable EP to finally bring him the shine he’s been working toward all that time, so you’ll forgive him for feeling a little burnt out. But there’s a benefit to that level of patience: Ray’s confidence is unshakeable and his consistency is time-tested. He attests to as much on “Overtime” with Yung Lean and “Palm Angels, Palms Itching.”

It’s also left him with an – ahem – self-effacing nature. The album opens with a reflective intro, “My Thoughts 3,” on which he ruminates on the climb to his current leaping-off point. He’s now standing at the precipice which a handful of other Detroit natives reached; the closest analog would be Big Sean, with whom he previously collaborated on the latter’s joint EP with Hit-Boy. With one foot still in the Detroit underground, clinging to the raw, chaotic beats that define that sound, and the other prepared to step into the limelight with radio-ready beats produced by the likes of 808 Mafia, Ray has the potential to be the bridge between his hometown’s insular subculture and the wider world beyond.

If anything, this poses the album’s one drawback. Its split personality holds it back; on one hand, Ray could make hits, he could be a superstar (albeit a very laid-back, iconoclastic one), but he’d have to relinquish – at least to a point – his reliance on the style that got him here. We’ve seen that backfire before when artists make the jump from regional to national stars, pissing off their day-ones by sloughing off their roots. By sticking to his guns, though, he runs the risk of alienating potential new fans and wasting the work he’s put in to reach this point

Should he simply stay the course, doing what he does here, the future is murkier. Like Face’s production, it could go either way. Or, and this is what I think likeliest, he could end up forging a new path, slowly but surely letting more folks in on the secret that is the Motor City underground rap scene, and contributing to the next evolution of rap music past its current stagnant state.

Face is out now via Wavy Gang/Empire. Get it here.

Macaulay Culkin Is Making A Documentary About His Midlife Crisis

In 2020, Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin shocked the world when he admitted that he is, in fact, 40 years old. Well, now he’s 41, but the earth-shattering news brought tears to older millennial eyes when we collectively realized: our childhood idol is getting old. Okay, not that old, but still. Culkin is harnessing his fear into something good: making a new docuseries aptly titled Macaulay Culkin’s Midlife Crisis.

The series will follow Culkin as he checks off bucket list items and travels the world while processing aging and fatherhood, which will be interesting since many view Culkin as a perpetual child after starring in the classic Home Alone series.

Jonathan and Simon Chinn, co-founders of Lightbox, the team that will bring Culkin’s series to life, said in a statement:

Mack remains as iconic, and as loved as ever — a social media sensation, internet entrepreneur and a hard-working member of his pizza-themed Velvet Underground tribute band. Despite his legendary status, like the rest of us, he’s having to confront what it means to be a normal middle-aged guy, with a wife and a new kid who’s soon going to be the same age he was when he became a massive global superstar. We are thrilled to be working through our mid-life crises with him on this exciting project!

Culkin joked, “Wow, Lightbox. Thanks for reminding me I’m in my 40s. Well, rather than make a big deal about it I figure we should just make a show about it. Makes sense.”

The actor recently welcomed a child with former Disney Channel actress Brenda Song, while his brother Kieran is off bragging about Macaulay’s first SNL hosting job.

Nicki Minaj Explains Why Her ‘New Body’ Collab With Kanye West Never Got An Official Release

Of all the projects Kanye West hyped over the past several years, perhaps none was more heavily anticipated than “New Body,” a track featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla Sign that was planned to feature on Ye’s ninth album, Yandhi. When a demo version of the song was leaked in October 2018, it instantly became something of a fan favorite, but despite this, it was scrapped along with the rest of the album after Kanye decided to release Jesus Is King, his first big swing at a gospel album, instead.

Perhaps no one was more disappointed than Nicki Minaj, who allegedly had to re-write her verse multiple times as a result of Kanye’s evolving, spirituality-based insistence on toning down explicit content and language ahead of Yandhi‘s non-release. Nicki, who’s been on a promo/media damage control tour ahead of the release of her new single with Lil Baby, “Do We Have A Problem?” explained just why the original version of “New Body” was never released and how she felt about it.

“The public adored ‘New Body,’” Nicki recalled. “‘New Body’ is the biggest hit record that never came out. So what I thought was interesting was that Kanye made me write my ‘New Body’ verse four times over in order to fit into where he was creatively and spiritually in his life. … I missed it by a year, I guess. Had ‘New Body’ been out when he was not in his gospel era, then it would’ve seen the light of day. But, it didn’t, so it wasn’t meant to be. Everybody knows that’s the hit that got away … I think the ship has sailed for ‘New Body,’ everybody has come to love the original way they heard it.”

The leak of the song actually went viral on TikTok in 2020, prompting Nicki to tell her fans to “pester” Kim Kardashian to get the full version, but considering how things are turning out on that front, perhaps the song will simply have to live on in those memes and memories.

You can watch Nicki’s full interview above.

One Of The Year’s Best Movies, ‘The Worst Person In The World,’ Is Named After A Catchy Norwegian Phrase

The Worst Person in the World? More like the best movie in the world. The third film in director Joachim Trier’s acclaimed “Oslo Trilogy,” following 2006’s Reprise and 2011’s Oslo, August 31st, is finally out in New York and Los Angeles today with more cities to come. Now, I’m not saying you should take a plane / boat / hot air balloon to NYC to watch it this weekend — but I am saying you should run, don’t walk, to watch it.

As our own Vince Mancini wrote in his glowing review, “In a year of two and a half-hour movies about superheroes and car chases that felt roughly seven hours long (looking at you, James Bond) The Worst Person in the World is 127-minutes of flirting, fighting, and intense conversations that had me hooked, basically from opening credits to closing. I still don’t know how that gets pitched or greenlit, but God bless the Norwegians for figuring it out.”

Speaking of the Norwegians, you can thank a Norwegian phrase for that catchy title.

When asked by Vulture whether the movie was always going to be called The Worst Person in the World, Oscar-worthy star Renate Reinsve replied, “Not from the beginning, but in Norway we have this saying — if you f*ck up, you say, ‘Ugh, I’m the worst person in the world.’ So it comes from this catchy phrase.” She added that it works as a title because it’s how her character Julie “thinks about herself, and I can relate to that.”

You know who’s actually the worst person in the world? Everyone who doesn’t see The Worst Person in the World.

The Author Of The Jack Reacher Books Weighs In On 5’7 Tom Cruise Playing His 6’5 Main Character

With the new Amazon series Reacher bringing the Jack Reacher novels back to life with hulking actor Alan Ritchson in the lead role, author Lee Child wants everyone to know he still has lots of love for Tom Cruise portraying the hero in two films despite lacking the character’s height from the books. While promoting the new series, Child said Cruise’s casting was still the right call even as fans of the books raised concerns about the 5’7″ actor playing Reacher, who’s described as “6’5”, being extremely tall, extremely broad, long-armed and long-legged’, in addition to having a thick neck and hands the size of dinner plates.”

As Child explains, Cruise won over movie audiences, and that’s what mattered most at the time. Via Metro:

‘There was criticism from the book fans, because they had built up a very clear image of what Reacher should look like,’ said the writer, who is an executive producer on the show.

Child explained how he found it ‘interesting’ that ‘non-book fans really liked those movies’, because ‘they were kind of convinced by Cruise in that sense’.

While Child is happy with how Cruise’s portrayal worked out, he’s also excited about Ritchson bringing a more book-accurate physicality to the role for the Amazon series.

“I think that the size thing is important to certain parts of the narrative,” Child said. “Reacher has got to scare people and you can do that so much easier with one glance of this huge animal rather than a normal-sized actor.”

Not to get weird about people’s heights or anything, but has anyone ever called Tom Cruise “normal-sized” before? We’re just curious, and not trying to insinuate he’s short or anything. Nope, definitely not.

Reacher is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Halsey Suspects They Would ‘Die After A Week’ If They Actually Performed A Fan’s Dream Setlist

If you tweet something at Halsey, there’s a non-zero chance that they will answer you, as Halsey is fairly active on Twitter and often takes time to respond to fans. A recent tweet from one fan had Halsey considering their mortality, though, as that fan’s dream setlist is a major ask.

The fan tweeted out the setlist for what would be their ideal Halsey show and it’s a career-spanning set, in that it features almost every song from Halsey’s career. All in all, the list contains 63 songs, including a stretch where “The Lighthouse” is performed three times in a row. The tweet got Halsey’s attention and prompted a funny response, as they shared the tweet and wrote, “angel bb this is a 4 hour set I would simply die after a week.”

After that, Halsey decided to respond to some other fan tweets. A different fan asked what the set for Halsey’s upcoming tour looks like, and she responded, “It looks verrrrrry good and cool with a few surprises. Also the production on this tour…I have outdone myself.” Another follower asked if Halsey is worried about returning to the road given that she’s been away for so long and given that she recently had a baby, and she responded, “A little! Next week is my first show in 2 years but after that I have almost 3 months to get myself nice and ready. I love performing more than anything so I look forward to it more than I’m worried.”
