Is There A Season 2 Of ‘Beef’ On Netflix?

If you, like a lot of people, spent last weekend binging Netflix’s latest comedy-drama Beef (starring Ali Wong and Steven Yeun), you might be itching for more savory drama. Or you might be working on your own personal road rage issues. Either way, you are not alone!

Beef stars Wong and Yeun and the subsequent drama that follows them after a fateful road rage incident sends both of them spiraling. While creator Lee Sung Jin says the show is fiction, it was inspired by one of his own roadside blunders. While the story arcs were basically complete by the end of the 10-episode season, that doesn’t mean there won’t be more.

While Netflix has yet to renew the series (they tend to take their time with that stuff) showrunner Lee told Elle that they are hoping it turns into a White Lotus situation, with multiple seasons taking on new plotlines.

“Cards on the table, we did pitch this show as a limited anthology, so there is sort of a close-ended-ness to the story [of Danny and Amy],” he told the mag, adding that he wouldn’t mind revisiting the characters in the future. “But, if given the opportunity, of course, I’d love to explore them further, because Danny and Amy, I love those characters. But yeah, by design, though, this a close-ended narrative.” He explained that other seasons could explore “multiple other beefs and other character types.” Maybe they should add in some poultry, just for fun.

So while there is not yet confirmed that we will get a second serving of Beef, it seems like it’s definitely possible! Now what about a Beef/The Bear crossover? The names make sense.

‘Succession’ Star Brian Cox Has Seriously Upped His ‘F**ks’ Since Playing Logan Roy

“Knackering.” That’s the (very Scottish) word Brian Cox might use to describe what it’s like to have inhabited the body and being of Logan RoySuccession’s ball-busting, tough-as-nails patriarch and media mogul — for the past near-five years. It has also left the four-time Emmy-winning actor with a serious case of the f**ks.

On Tuesday, Britbox — an online streaming service for Anglophiles created by BBC Studios and ITV — dropped an exclusive one-hour interview with the Succession star titled, appropriately, “An Interview with Brian Cox.” In it, the actor admits that Logan’s penchant for dropping F-bombs has definitely rubbed off on him in real life.

“I just knew there was something extraordinary,” Cox said of deciding to join the cast of Succession, which was partly prompted by his respect for creator Jesse Armstrong and the work that he had done on Armando Iannucci’s brilliant The Thick of It (which is basically the British version of Veep before Veep even existed… but even swearier).

But after several seasons of paying the Waystar Royco boss, Cox admits that he’s much more likely to drop an F-bomb without provocation.

“There’s a lot more swearing now,” Cox says. “Logan has affected me. I mean, I swore a bit. [The Scottish] are poetic in their swear words; the Irish are even more poetic. They can say the C-word like nobody’s business. But the F-word: Nobody does it like the Scots!” And when you combine that fact with a character as volatile as Logan Roy, Cox says “it’s a perfect match.”

“Yes, I’ve sworn in the past,” Cox admitted. “But now, [Logan has] taken over in that way. He has possessed me, particularly in terms of bad language.”

An Interview With Brian Cox” is streaming on BritBox now.

Chris Stapleton, Lil Nas X, Tommy Lee, And Many More Pay Homage In The Hilarious ‘Muppets Mayhem’ Trailer

Okay, folks, this is not a drill. The Muppets Mayhem series is finally coming to Disney+, and when I say “everybody is in it,” I really mean EVERYBODY IS IN IT.

Muppets media is well-known for its hilarious cameos — who doesn’t love the Muppets? — but this musical film, which follows the house/jam band Dr. Teeth And The Electric Mayhem as they try to record their first album after 40 years, has all the justification it needs to pack in the guest stars like fans at a Phish concert.

You want musicians? Series stars Lilly Singh and Tahj Mowry (as a pair of record execs) pair up the band with EDM stars DeadMau5 and Zedd, while an in-film documentary clip features Chris Stapleton, Lil Nas X, and Tommy Lee paying homage to the fictional band and even crediting them with their influence.

Weird Al makes an appearance in the clip above, as do Cheech and Chong. Kesha shows up. Not only does Morgan Freeman show up, but he also does so rocking a bright blue wig and matching fedora! There’s even a Grease/Anchorman-style Stan gang war after Dr. Teeth accidentally upsets the Beyhive AND the Swifties at the same time (have mercy on his soul, Jesus)!

You can check out the trailer above and catch all episodes of the series on Disney+ beginning May 10.

Lil Dicky Seemingly Addressed The Backlash From His 2018 Chris Brown Collaboration: ‘I Know That My Heart Is Good’

Lil Dicky is an acquired taste, and the entertainer is absolutely ok with that. The Dave star has no problem leaning into his quirkiness, even if that means awkwardly sharing too much information with other celebrities, including Usher and Larry David. The comedian has no regrets about being his naturally offbeat self. Another thing the musician doesn’t regret his past collaboration with singer Chris Brown.

During his recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lil Dicky joined the likes of Chlöe when recounting his 2018 song “Freaky Friday.”

“I love that song. I still love that song. It went to No. 1 in multiple nations, and without that song, I don’t know that I could have made [a charity single] like ‘Earth,’ where I raised, like, $3 million [to fight against climate change],” said Dicky.

Dicky seemingly acknowledges what his former collaborator has been accused of by adding, “I know that my heart is good. I really do. I don’t lose sleep at night about my heart. And you can never be perfect, and sometimes I’ll still be dumb and unaware, but I really do care so much about doing the right thing.”

The entertainer closed with, “And listen, I get why someone wouldn’t like a Lil Dicky song, but I’d never be ok with someone being like, ‘That guy’s an asshole,’ or ‘That guy’s a piece of sh*t.’ I’ve never had that experience as Dave Burd, the man, so for my art to cause that reaction, my God, it really hurts me.”

Chis Brown has not yet spoken on the matter.

Foo Fighters Just Teased What Sounds Like Their First New Music Since Taylor Hawkins’ Death

Foo Fighters, as they’ve already planned their return to touring after Taylor Hawkins’ passing, have also shared an apparent new glimpse of what their music will sound like without their late drummer. In a new video uploaded to Twitter, the track plays an electric rock instrumental loop.

“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” it says on the white background in the clip, something that might be a potential lyric or even the song’s title. Or something else entirely. Just yesterday, they also added some extra tour dates to their already-stacked summer — which includes numerous festival appearances.

Fans in the replies are more than excited, doing everything to guess what else the Foo Fighters have in store. “New music LET’S GO!!! Everyone saying new drummer and for touring sure… But my money is on Dave going back to where it started and recording the drums himself on the new music/album,” one wrote.

“You’re going to surprise us with a Coachella set this weekend?” someone else hoped.

Whatever it is, Foo Fighters do have a full plan to make their return, no matter what form that takes.

“Without Taylor, we never would have become the band that we were,” the band had shared on New Year’s Eve. “And without Taylor, we know that we’re going to be a very different band going forward.”

Here’s hoping there’s new music on the horizon, though.

The ‘John Wick’ World Goes Back To the 1970s In ‘The Continental’ Teaser Trailer From Peacock

Back in 2018, word surfaced of The Continental limited series, envisioned as a Starz-airing John Wick prequel that would take place in Los Angeles rather than New York City, where the movies are primarily set. Things have changed. The project is now a three-evening event series that landed at Peacock, and New York is still the place for the John Wick world of assassins, and it doesn’t seem likely that Keanu Reeves would cameo as suggested long ago.

One could guess that this could be due to how John Wick 4 ended, but nope. Despite all that, Keanu is set to appear in the Ana de Armas-starring Ballerina film (set for a June 2024 release). The actual (and logical) reason is that The Continental takes the John Wick world back to the 1970s, a time before John Wick’s most pivotal dog was even born! As well, the spinoff focuses on the assassin-welcoming hotel where Winston is not embodied by Ian McShane because we’re not time traveling, thank goodness.

His previous incarnation is portrayed by Colin Woodell, who has some of his own quasi-hitman experience from The Flight Attendant. Woodell is visible in the above teaser trailer that doesn’t give away too much.

If you were hoping to find out anything about Mel Gibson’s “Cormac” character today, then you’re out of luck. Yet you can see the very stylish and semi-action-packed atmosphere above, and we will hopefully see more soon, given that the project has a release month of September. From the synopsis:

The three-part event will explore the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970’s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne.

The Continental: From the World of John Wick also stars Ayomide Adegun (picking up Lance Reddick’s Charon), Katie McGrath (as The Adjudicator), Mishel Prada, Ben Robson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Nhung Kate, Jessica Allain, Jeremy Bobb, and Peter Greene. And rest assured that, if you end up preferring the films, then there might be a fifth version coming at some point.

Check into the The Continental in September. Enjoy this newly release key art.

Chris Evans Revealed Why He Has Avoided Hosting ‘Saturday Night Live’ Like ‘The Plague’

Hosting Saturday Night Live isn’t for everyone. On the one hand, it’s an iconic show which has featured dozens of A-list actors and musicians over the years. On the other hand, Pete Davidson isn’t in the cast anymore, so is it really worth watching? While some people think hosting SNL is a rite of passage, others are a little too nervous at the idea of standing on a stage in front of a few hundred New Yorkers, which is fair.

Ana de Armas will host the late-night show this weekend ahead of her new Apple TV+ movie Ghosted, also starring Chris Evans, though it doesn’t seem like Evans will want to tackle the hosting job anytime soon. When asked by ET Canada if he would join de Armas on stage for a cameo, Evans said that would be the only way to get him on the show. “Well, now a cameo I can handle,” Evans said, explaining that he has a lot of fear about actually hosting himself. “I’ve avoided hosting SNL like the plague for years now just because I’m so scared. It’s terrifying to me.”

Even though he doesn’t want to host a full show himself, he has no problem showing up for a fun little joke or two. “A cameo sounds great — that’s perfect,” Evans continued, applauding his co-star for accepting hosting duties. “But hosting, I tip my hat to her. She’s going to be amazing. But it would provide a lot of sleepless nights for me.”

Evans later explained his anxieties are in part due to the fact that he doesn’t feel like he is a funny guy. “Maybe I only feel that because I have very, very funny friends who once told me I’m not a funny person. It would just be an everyday anxiety, constant regret: ‘Why did I do this? I could have been comfortable at my house, in my bed, not worrying about this.’” Hopefully, his friend and co-star de Armas didn’t hear that last part. She will be great! Especially with Marilyn Monroe on her side.

So now there is another important question to ask: which one of Chris Evans’ famous friends thinks that he isn’t funny?

Lil Dicky Confidently Described His Dual Comedy And Rap Skills As ‘Like If Batman All Of A Sudden Realized He Was Also Superman’

Lil Dicky‘s semiautobiographical series Dave is back for its third season on FXX. This season features Dicky as he embarks on his first cross-country tour to promote his debut album, but also, to look for love.

Dave is one of the buzziest shows on television, as it demonstrates Lil Dicky’s ability as both a rapper and a comic, something he’s always wanted to showcase.

In a profile on Lil Dicky for The Hollywood Reporter, Jeff Schaffer recalled how Lil Dicky first pitched the idea for a comedy show. At the time, Schaffer was already show-running Curb Your Enthusiasm and had previously written on Seinfeld. When he had first taken meetings with Dicky, he remembers a little analogy the rapper/actor would use to describe his abilities in both realms.

“He would literally say, ‘It’s like if Batman all of a sudden realized he was also Superman,’ and when he’d say it, they’d all look at me and I’d go, ‘Yeeeaaah,’ ” said Schaffer. “And, of course, they got the tone of the show immediately because they were meeting Dave.”

Off-screen, Dicky is preparing his long-awaited second studio album, which will be his first full-length album since 2015. However, he admitted in the profile that making music while balancing the show’s subject matter has become quite a challenge, which is why the album has been delayed frequently.

“[The label] will get one eventually, and they’re going to make a lot of money when they do,” said Dicky. “It’s just been harder for me to convey my perspective via music. It’s a lot easier to be like, ‘What am I going to make episodes about?’”

Dave airs Wednesday nights at 10 pm EST on FXX. Episodes are available for streaming on Hulu the next day.

Starbucks Removed Their ‘Not Approved’ Sign About Taylor Swift After Fans Called Them Out On Social Media

After the news of Taylor Swift‘s reported breakup from Joe Alwyn hit over the weekend, it seems businesses are already attempting to cash in through some strange and slightly misogynistic ways — with Swifties not having it at all.

Just a few days ago, one person snapped a pic of a sign in their local Starbucks shop that was associating Swift’s exes with various drink orders. “Which Taylor Swift ex are you?” it read, listing choices for Harry Styles as a hot vanilla latte, Joe Jonas as their dragon drink, Tom Hiddleston as a London fog, and Joe Alwyn (with question marks) as a hot chai with oat milk.

“@Starbucks used @TaylorSwift13’s exes for their Marketing campaign and advantage – any thoughts?” someone said in a now-deleted post, according to The Independent, leaving fans to not hold back their thoughts at all.

“starbucks and duolingo using taylor and joe’s breakup as a promotional tactic is pathetic and so disrespectful. i don’t understand why people do this. her breakup shouldn’t be used for any promotional purposes or clout of any kind,” another added.

Due to the pushback, Starbucks eventually responded. “Thank you for bringing this to our attention! The content of this sign was not approved and has since been erased,” they wrote.
