Rappers love the NBA 2K game series, but it’s gotta be weird to stumble across someone playing as you in the game. That’s apparently what happened to Polo G over the weekend. He shared a video on his Instagram Story when he discovered a lookalike avatar in the game (likely alerted by fans), tagging Ronnie Singh (aka Ronnie 2K), 2K Games’ Digital Marketing Director, who often acts as the liaison between players and the game’s developers. The Chicago rapper is very much a basketball aficionado, with involvement in the AAU.
“I’m so mad ’cause that ain’t me on the game,” Polo joked. “Folks just blasted me in that sh*t.” One thing he was proud of, though: the fan-made character bearing his likeness has a 99 overall player rating, which makes him the highest-rated rapper in the game. J. Cole and Jack Harlow, both huge hoop heads in real life with basketball-related endeavors increasing their connection to the game, have ratings of 89. Lil Durk, who was praised by real NBA players for his textbook jump shot (and dissed his high-profile peers’ hoop skills), is also in the game with an 89 rating.
When Durk was announced as a character, Ronnie 2K asked fans who else they’d like to see make the jump, but no new rappers have been announced as players since then.
Ted Cruz, undisputed King of the Self-Own, has been getting absolutely shredded on Twitter after his recent comments on armed guards blew up in his face. Following the Nashville school shooting, Cruz tweeted an image, in which he proclaimed the solution to America’s gun problem is more guns, specifically in the hands of guards at schools.
“When you go to the bank and you deposit money in the bank, there are armed police officers at the bank. Why? Because we want to protect the money we save. Why on earth do we protect a stupid deposit more than our children?” Cruz’s statement read. “We have an opportunity right now to double the police officers on campus and keep kids safe.”
Yesterday, I reintroduced the Securing Our Schools Act and the Protect Our Children’s Schools Act.
Cruz tweeted that statement on March 31. Because this is America, it didn’t take a long for another mass shooting to occur, and contrary to Cruz’s tweet, it happened at a bank. On Monday April 10, a bank employee in Louisville killed five people and injured others. The presence of armed guards did nothing, and the shooter wasn’t stopped until police arrived.
It didn’t take long for Cruz’s tweet to resurface as the Texas senator proceeded to get roasted for attempting to deflect from the real problem: guns.
“In March, @tedcruz put out the statement below. Yesterday, at a bank an armed police officer ended up with a bullet in his head fighting for his life,” Parkland parent Fred Guttenberg wrote. “Ted, because of your ongoing bullsh*t & refusal to deal with guns, this is the reality for all, including law enforcement.”

Needless to say, Cruz’s tweet aged very poorly, and people flooded his replies to make sure he was aware of it. You can see some of the reactions below:
Cruz steps in it again. Armed guards were present at this morning’s mass shooting in Louisville. Four dead, nine wounded.@SenateGOP showboating has to end. It’s on @GOP to abandon their extreme position and put the American people above profit and politics.
Officers didn’t do anything at Uvalade. Officers have not proven to help out at any of these incidents. The problem is the guns. The solution is not more useless police.
This has been a major month for K-Pop, and this roundup is no exception, as a few of your favorite bands returned with new singles, and other members have been working on their solo endeavors. Plus, Uproxx recently published a cover story with aespa that is worth checking out as well. As some of the artists on this week’s list also have tours and shows coming up, this is a perfect opportunity to learn the words to their latest tracks if you decide to go.
Fans of Euphoria had been waiting for Labrinth to drop “Never Felt So Alone” since they heard the song in the HBO series. As it turns out, it was immensely worth the wait, as he even brought along Billie Eilish to feature on the track. The result is a moody, electronic take that features one of Eilish’s strongest vocal performances yet — proving that she’s also stronger with different production.
Jonas Brothers – “Waffle House”
Ahead of their new album, The Album, Jonas Brothers dropped “Waffle House,” titled after the cozy (and sometimes chaotic) chain restaurant. Who can blame them? It’s a great place! The trio uses the location as a launching point to dive deeper into their familial dynamic, detailing how they’re stronger despite the fights and ups and downs.
Kali Uchis – “In The Lobby”
In honor of the fifth anniversary of her album, Isolation, Kali Uchis unearthed a previously-unheard track from the era’s sessions, “In The Lobby.” The song finds Uchis detailing how she caught a cheating lover and is wishing nothing but karma on them over a dreamy instrumental that contrasts the lyrics.
NewJeans – “Zero”
While “Zero” is NewJeans‘ single for their Coca Cola partnership as global ambassadors, it still works well as a standalone — with sweet references to both love and the drink. “‘Cause you know you’re sparkling like a shooting star / I can see us going far / How refreshing would that be? / We will pop up all around the world,” the girls sing.
Agust D – “People Pt. 2” (feat. IU)
BTS’ Suga is dropping a new album later this month as part of his Agust D solo project. His latest single preview, “People Pt. 2,” was written based off his emotions during the pandemic. The track is filled with very wise and meditative lyrics that speak to Suga as an artist.
Mark – “Golden Hour”
NCT’s Mark dropped his second single, titled “Golden Hour.” Showing off his rap abilities, he also sprinkles in some jokes about a past failed cooking attempt that’s well-known in the fandom. “Make it right / I’m calling Gordon Ramsay,” he adds.
KC Rae – “Blockbuster”
“This song is about a very specific memory with my cousin,” KC Rae shared of the nostalgic “Blockbuster,” as the Now, Now singer makes her solo debut. “I was terrified of breaking rules as a kid, so this experience of swiping her stepdad’s car, without a license, to go rent a movie has sunk itself into the core memory archives. It also captures the entire relationship with my cousin and crashing through childhood and adolescence together.
Olivia O’ Brien – “Born With A Broken Heart”
“Born With A Broken Heart” finds Olivia O’Brien seriously grappling, showcasing her vocal power over a gentle instrumental. “Maybe I was built to fall apart,” she concludes before circling back to the song’s title. Despite this, she starts to find some optimism in the second verse — as the track transforms into an anthem.
Poppy – “Church Outfit”
Poppy‘s never been one to turn away from being experimental, and “Church Outfit” is no exception. The dark, industrial pop song finds her musing about “the dress she wants to be buried in,” creating a wild ride in just under two minutes.
Loren Gray – “Never Be Perfect”
Loren Gray’s “Never Be Perfect” is her giving a “final warning,” as she takes the blame for a destructive, toxic relationship. It serves as the third single from Gray’s forthcoming debut album, Guilty, which drops later this month.
Millie Bobby Brown has been in the spotlight since she was eleven, both literally and figurately, but she wants to remind all of her fans that she is now an adult by embarking on the most adult thing you can do: legally bind yourself to another human! Of course, Brown has been in the industry for so long that it’s easy to forget that she is still only nineteen years old.
June 2021: Brown has been dating New Jersey icon Jon Bon Jovi’s 22-year-old son, Jake Bongiovi, since June 2021 when the pair posted a selfie on social media, sparking rumors that they were dating. That’s how the kids do it nowadays!
The duo has not been shy about sharing their teen romance all on social media for the last year and a half, celebrating important milestones like Brown’s 18th birthday, her Enola Holmes 2 premiere, and, most importantly, playing Dance Dance Revolution. They are teens, after all.
January 2023: The Stranger Things actress posted a series of photos on Instagram on New Year’s Day celebrating the year to come, which seemed to imply that the two had discussed marriage. “Endlessly in love with the year I’ve had! grateful for my friends, family, donkey (bernard), my doggies, my puppies teeth, and my partner for life. here’s to another year with you and the wonderful people and animals around us.” We can assume the “partner for life” is Bongiovi, but she didn’t specify, so it could very well be her dog.
April 2023: The couple seemingly announced their engagement when Brown shared a series of photos with Taylor Swift lyrics as the caption, which is how you know it’s real! Though using a song about Joe Alwyn was a bit of a low blow. Either way, congrats to the happy youngsters and the drama that their inevitable nepo baby will have to deal with.
Pete Davidson may not enjoy enduring too much talk about his dating life, but Emily Ratajowski (who briefly and awkwardly dated Pete) is more open about discussing it. She doesn’t name names, mind you, but she is very frank about being so happy to be divorced following her breakup with Sebastian Bear-McClard. She’s also been pretty open about not wanting to get tied down anytime soon and has made good on that sentiment by getting publicly naked with Eric Andre and also publicly kissing Harry Styles.
“Sex is real for me,” she said. “Sex is very relaxing to me, it’s like an outlet, it’s an expression, and I like to have it in my life.”
She added, “You learn so much about people by having sex with them, it’s crazy. I’ve learned that from dating.”
Emily also gushed about digging the experience of being at a party where “it was just, like, every famous person in the world and I was, like, not wearing my ring,” and it sure sounds like single life suits her. In a wide-ranging recent profile for the LA Times, the model and author additionally declared, “I’m really just not thinking about guys,” and then two weeks later (after the Harry Styles kiss made headlines), she followed up with, “You know, sometimes things just happen.” And good for her.

Britney Spears can’t escape the paparazzi. Yesterday (April 10), the pop icon took to Instagram, where she shared stories about visiting “exotic locations recently.” And as one could expect, the paps seemed to follow her everywhere. But thankfully, she said they weren’t nearly as bad as they are in Los Angeles.
Spears then shared a story of how the paparazzi snapped pictures of her while her car had broken down, and how the photographers captured her at an unflattering angle.
“I looked like an idiot !!! My facial expression, the way I was leaning over, the pooch in my stomach !!! It was horrible because they got a pic of me in a helpless situation, so of course I get protective of myself,” she said.
Spears also recalled a time when she searched for a personal trainer, who immediately body-shamed her upon their first encounter.
“I took the time 2 months ago to find a trainer and the first thing she did to me was literally … and I’m not even lying … pinch the skin on my stomach and legs and told me I need to get my younger body back … why the hell did she do that ??? It made me cry … I obviously didn’t hire her so I did it myself,” she said.
Elsewhere in the post, she revealed that she works out for 45 minutes a day, three times a week.
“Woke up this morning and my skin is so dry !!! After visiting a couple of exotic locations recently, I have to coat my body in lotion at night !!! It’s so beautiful out and I want to get out more … paps are everywhere but not nearly as bad as it is in LA though … my car broke down the other day and I got out telling Hesam to come on my side and the paps were there and took pics [rolling eyes emojis] … I looked like an idiot !!! My facial expression, the way I was leaning over, the pooch in my stomach !!! It was horrible because they got a pic of me in a helpless situation, so of course I get protective of myself !!! I went out with a friend and same thing !!! It didn’t look like my body and by no means am I saying my body is perfect but I took the time 2 months ago to find a trainer and the first thing she did to me was literally … and I’m not even lying … pinch the skin on my stomach and legs and told me I need to get my younger body back … why the hell did she do that ??? It made me cry … I obviously didn’t hire her so I did it myself !!! I work out for 45 min, 3x a week … that’s it !!! I hate working out for too long … I’m sharing this because I have worked hard to get in shape, yet I don’t look like the pictures that the paps take !!! God knows my body ain’t perfect but I did want to share what my body looks like at the moment … I worked my ass off and for some people like that trainer who might see those nasty pap pics and secretly smile … Yup, y’all got it … I have 4 hours of footage from me shooting this yesterday and b*tch, I’m just getting started [winking emojis].”

Of the MANY Taylor Sheridan shows coming our way, the most exciting might be Matthew McConaughey’s Yellowstone spinoff. Little is known about the series, other than it’s a “franchise extension to continue the Dutton saga,” but it will be the Oscar winner’s first live-action role since before the pandemic.
“I am now becoming more interested in actually going to play another character in a TV show because the last four years of culminating and writing and getting these things together and getting more into public service,” McConaughey explained on the Armchair Expert podcast. “The idea of going to act in the right kind of role, in the right kind of movie, film, or series right now sounds like an awesome vacation.”
McConaughey thinks his mini-hiatus from acting will be beneficial. “I’ll be a different or improved actor in my own right after this last [four] years,” he said. “What I have is so much respect for the vocation of acting. I think I have a healthier relationship. I’m not looking at it for my survival and my thrive-all. I think good acting emulates life. Real life is where this stuff comes from.”
When last the LoFi Girl YouTube Stream made headlines, it was because bogus copyright claims had crashed the stream, ending two years, four months, and two weeks of nonstop streaming of pleasant, downtempo “beats to study to.”
This week, though, LoFi Girl made headlines for another reason: After apparently receiving a message via a blue light flashing Morse code in one of the distant windows behind her, the stream’s mascot, Jade, mysteriously vanished. That’s right: LoFi Girl has lore now — and it’s kind of glorious. (Apparently, Jade finally took a break from studying to nap earlier this month, too)
With the titular LoFi Girl out of the picture, as it were, the stream instead began to slowly zoom in on the distant blue window over the next 24 hours. As of press time, it’s apparently stopped doing so after settling on a new room — this one decidedly more cluttered and masculine, according to fans in the chat — but that same familiar pair of headphones rests on the desk.
Meanwhile, fans who hashed out the Morse code message discovered that it directed them to a new website, lofiworld.com. Clicking a button on the site marked “launch” sends users to another YouTube stream, this one playing ambient music in yet another bedroom (with a fishtank! and Gundam models! and a GameCube!) where a clock on the wall has been counting down. As of press time, about 30 minutes remain; we’ll update you when we know exactly what’s going on.
love little ~internet mysteries~ what’s gonna happen on the lofi girl stream at noon??? pic.twitter.com/rN35weRyQh
