Grimes Has A Significant Concern About Elon Musk’s Plan To Purge Inactive Twitter Accounts

Twitter: It sure has changed a lot under Elon Musk’s ownership. Now, he’s shaking things up again and Grimes, who of course has two children with Musk, has some thoughts.

Yesterday (May 8), Musk announced, “We’re purging accounts that have had no activity at all for several years, so you will probably see follower count drop.”

Then, John Carmack — a computer programmer and video game developer known for his work on games like Doom and Wolfenstein 3D, as well as his time at Oculus before leaving the company in 2022 — raised some concerns. He tweeted, “I may be reading this incorrectly, but if you are actually deleting inactive accounts and all their historic tweets, I would STRONGLY urge you to reconsider. Letting people know how many ‘active’ followers they have is good information, but deleting the output of inactive accounts would be terrible. I still see people liking ten year old tweets I made, but the threads are already often fragmented with deleted or unavailable tweets. Don’t make it worse! Some may scoff at any allusion between Twitter and ancient libraries, but while the burning of the library of Alexandria was a tragedy, scrolls and books that were tossed in the trash just because nobody wanted to keep them are kind of worse. Save it all!”

To that, Grimes replied, “I agree it’s worth preserving the libraries from the ancient internet !” About a half hour after Grimes chimed in, Musk replied to Carmack, “The accounts will be archived,” adding, “But it is important to free up abandoned handles.”

So, there we have it: Our tweets from 2006 are safe.

Emilio Estevez Wants To Show You ‘The Way’ And Has Ideas For Three More ‘Young Guns’ Movies

In 2010, Emilio Estevez released The Way, a movie that premiered at the Toronto Film Festival that year, got pretty good reviews, but kind of, sadly, came and went. But this is a movie that obviously means the world to Estevez (he wrote it, directed it, and it stars his father, Martin Sheen) and when the company that owned the rights went bankrupt, Estevez swooped in and reacquired the rights. (It’s a little longer story than that, as he tells us ahead.) And now, The Way gets a rare second life, returning to theaters on May 16th.

The Way stars Martin Sheen as Thomas Avery, a man whose world is turned upside down when he learns his son, Daniel (played by Estevez), is killed while walking Camino de Santiago in Spain. Thomas must travel to Spain to collect the body, but there as an epiphany and decides to walk the many months route himself to honor the memory of his son. And, yes, meets a lot of interesting characters and learns a lot about himself during his journey. It’s a movie about travel and wonderful scenic shots. And Estevez feels, after what we all went through with the pandemic, it’s a movie that might just strike a chord with people and maybe inspire people to get out there, too.

Also, Estevez caused quite a stir a couple of years ago mentioning a third Young Guns movie is in the works. (Now titled Guns 3: Alias Billy the Kid.) Though it’s been a while since we’ve heard about that and Estevez gives us quite the update. He’s ready to go as soon as some IP issues are ironed out, but now he has ideas for three more Young Guns movies. (As I told Estevez, sign me up.)

And ahead, with a seventh Mission: Impossible on the way, I ask Estevez about his role in the first one. And he says Tom Cruise told Estevez he regretted killing off Jack Harmon and actually tried to bring Estevez back for the second movie, but couldn’t figure out a way how.

How are you doing?

I’m doing very well. The last journalist went on and on. I’m sorry.

Well, you know what, to be fair, you’ve been in a lot of things. I don’t begrudge anyone who wants to ask you a lot of stuff.

[Laughs] Very well. Are you in New York?

I am.

We’re here as well for another couple of hours, so great. I’m glad we’re on the same time zone.

Yeah, I love those LA interviews when it’s like, “Hey, can you jump on the phone at 9:00 PM?”

Yeah, you’re already into your second cocktail by then.

Exactly.

It’s like, “I’m not talking to an actor.”

It’s funny, when I first read about you reacquiring this movie and wanting to put it out again, I’m just like, what’s this all about? And then I watched it yesterday and now I totally understand why this movie means so much to you.

Well, indeed. And especially coming out of COVID, it’s kind of the right medicine. It has struck a chord with people who, during the years of lockdown and isolation, it’s like this breath of fresh air and people are watching it again and saying, to your point, “Of course, this makes sense. Let’s travel again.” And they’re also at a place where there’s a lot of introspection going on. We just lost almost 1.2 million Americans, over five million people worldwide. So we’ve got to grieve. We have not taken a moment to grieve.

Well, that’s a really good point. As you mentioned when you first called, I’m in New York, I was here the whole time during COVID when it was at its worst….

I can’t even imagine.

When people try to retcon things, saying it was overblown or whatever, there were mobile morgue trucks down the street from us. And then now we live in a society that’s so politicized people are trying to pretend it wasn’t even a big deal or it didn’t even happen. And to your point, we’re not allowing ourselves to grieve. We’re doing the opposite and trying to pretend it didn’t happen, and that’s not healthy.

Well, when you think about the Vietnam War, a similar thing happened. It’s like we never grieved coming out of that conflict. And then you look back further, Abraham Lincoln after the Civil War, he believed that it was so important to grieve the loss of so many Americans and that is one of the ways we got through it and moved past it. But why do we have to keep learning those lessons? But I believe the movie is, in some ways, way more relevant now than when it came out 12 years ago.

I would agree with that. It did hit me in a way that I don’t think it would’ve back then.

Right? And so here we are with this wonderful opportunity to not only reintroduce the movie to audiences, but get it back up on streaming platforms, which it’s been down for a long time. The DVD went out of print. The company that was distributing it, they had it in this library, went bankrupt. The movie was sitting in this motion to abandon rights in a Delaware Court. I mean, it was just one bad piece of news after another.

So this movie that obviously means the world to you and stars your father and you’re directing your father is just basically being sold off for parts?

Well, there was a term limit on how long the distributor had it. But, unfortunately, the movie changed hands so many times the licensing changed hands. And so it was coupled with the term of expiring and the film sitting, along with 1100 other titles, in this motion to abandon court in Delaware. And the judge ruled, okay, all these rights are up for grabs. And so I’ve stuck my hand back into the pot and said, let’s make this happen and let’s get these rights back.

And there was some legal entanglement that we had to get into and get those rights back. And then it was a matter of pulling it down off of all the various platforms where the deals had already terminated. So now all of that was done and I was approached by this company called Ocean Avenue Entertainment, which is a boutique distribution company, and they said, “We’d like to help you get this back out there.” Cut to Fathom Events saying, “This is a title, especially on the heels of coming out of the pandemic, we believe that there’s an audience for this.” And then the next phase was, why should people be re-interested in this film? In an older title? Because it’s not an anniversary. It’s not yet a classic. I mean, Fathom Events does things like they re-release Casablanca or Grease or It’s a Wonderful Life.

Oh, you know, I went to see Evil Dead Rise on Friday and there was a trailer for this before that played. So they are promoting it.

The Venn diagram of people who go see Evil Dead Rise versus The Way, yeah they’re the same crowd. That’s who you want.

You know who would get a belly laugh? Sam Raimi, who’s an old friend of mine and he would just laugh so hard at that. The irony in the position of that.

That’s really funny actually.

Oh my God. So my girlfriend had an idea. We were talking about the added value. She says, “How about we reach out to Rick Steves,” who’s obviously this travel icon, and how can we incorporate him into that added value? A couple of weeks later, we jumped on an Amtrak train because I wanted to create another story in that we were making a pilgrimage to see Rick Steves, which I thought would be kind of funny and cute. So we got my parents on the train and we did the overnight to Seattle, and it was kind of a disaster. But we got there in one piece, exhausted because it’s very hard to sleep on an Amtrak. I don’t know when the last time it was you did it, but I don’t recommend it. Amtrak’s wonderful, but just not the overnights.

We set up a table and I acted sort of as moderator, and I sat between Rick and Martin and I asked them questions about life, and about culture, and about the film, and about Rick’s mission, which is why we travel and the road is church. And it became this wonderful conversation between the three of us. It just feels like people are getting it now, as opposed to 12 years ago. A movie like this was, in some ways, kind of dismissed as being a faith-based film…

You know what? I actually thought of that while watching this, that it’s not. Because doing this job, I have to sometimes watch the actual faith-based films, the ones that are promoted that way, and this is not that at all.

I’m sorry about that!

Well, yeah. So like in the movie, I grew up Catholic and for a lot of people I know who grew up Catholic who, like me, don’t have anything to do with it anymore, this movie makes a lot of sense how it’s addressed.

And that was kind of the battle that I have with my father, who is a devout Catholic. I am not. And I said, “This movie has to appeal to everyone. You can’t just drop to your knees every time we pass a church. You’re a guy who is not a man of faith, you’re a guy who’s a lapsed Catholic. You’re like a lot of people in the world right now who struggled with their faith.” And this didn’t start out as a faithful journey, it becomes more of that for his character, but it’s certainly not the impetus for why you do it. So he pushed back a lot and I had to keep Martin from being Martin during a lot of this production.

Before we run out of time, there’s something I’ve always wanted to ask you. When I saw Mission: Impossible in theaters, I was so excited you were in it, and obviously you don’t last very long in that movie. I’ve always wondered if that was a friendly payback for killing Tom Cruise in his brief Young Guns cameo.

No, it wasn’t that at all. The way Tom had explained it, he said, “Look, I’d love for you to come and join the cast. The whole opening number where everybody gets wiped out, it’s going to be a lot of well-known people and all of them are going to go uncredited and it’s really going to set up the level of peril for Ethan.” And I said, “I’m in. You don’t have to ask me twice, I’m in.” And then afterwards, obviously, the movie’s a giant hit.

Right. They’re still making them. There’s one coming out this year.

Still making them! Tom was like, we were doing a run the year after that and he says, “Man, we made such a mistake killing you off.”

I agree with Tom.

He and John Woo were trying to figure out a way to bring me back for part two, but it just didn’t make sense. I thought you could have because with all the masks, right?

Right… That would’ve been tough though. I mean, you got smashed by an elevator. That’s a tough one to recover from in the hospital.

[Laughs] Right.

So my girlfriend works for Indiewire and she was interviewed by Andrew McCarthy for his upcoming documentary about the Brat Pack. He came to our apartment…

Oh really?

Yeah, he was here and interviewed her for that. And he mentioned you specifically. Basically, he didn’t know what your relationship was and didn’t know what to expect, but said it wound up being a very positive experience. Is that how you remember it?

It was. Without question, it was. And he and I had not been friends for the last 30 years. And when he asked, again, it was like Tom: The people who never ask, you just say yes. The people who never ask are the ones you sort of treat it… It’s like a Willy Wonka moment. You just say, “Yeah, of course. I’ll participate.” So the experience was positive, and I don’t know what the final outcome is going to look like, but I think he’s got a lot of footage. So whatever he ultimately puts together remains to be seen.

A couple of years ago you created quite a stir talking about making Young Guns 3. And I haven’t heard about in a little bit, but I really hope this happens. Is this still a thing?

It all comes down to the legal minds that work out IP. Listen, I’m ready to go. We have a terrific draft and if we can figure out the copyrights on all of this, and if Morgan Creek can sort of untangle from some of the issues that they’ve got in terms of continuing the franchise, we’re ready to go. So it’s just a question of when. Of course, I’m not getting any younger, so I think we’ll drop the “young” from the title, which we’ve done. But I think that Westerns being revived certainly plays to our benefit. And I think that the Brushy Bill story, you have this guy who…there’s new evidence coming out, actually, in the next month. There’s a new photo that surfaced. It’s pretty strong evidence!

There’s a New York detective who is on the case, who’s a facial recognition guy, and he looked at several, especially this new picture, and said, “Without question, this is the same guy many years later and he is Brushy Bill.” So that’s going to be dropping pretty soon. And that, again, is just further evidence that there’s a story there. It’s almost like a Zelig or Forrest Gump. Brushy Bill Roberts, aka Billy the Kid, he fought alongside Pancho Villa in the Mexican Revolution. He was with Teddy Roosevelt at the Battle of San Juan Hill. Here’s a guy that was born with the advent of the Gatling gun and died in 1950 during the Atomic Age. I mean, think about what he saw over the course of his lifetime! And that really begs, I think, not only just one more film in the franchise, but I think you could do three, four, and five.

I’m in for all five of them.

Did You Spot Pete Davidson’s Cameo In ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3’? Probably Not!

If Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was a music festival poster, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and the voices of Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper would be the large-font headliners, followed by the likes of Pom Klementieff, Will Poulter, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, and Sylvester Stallone. But there’s some fun names in the smaller font, too, including Linda Cardellini as otter Lylla; Maria Bakalova as astronaut dog Cosmo; Judy Greer as War Pig; and Tara Strong, replacing Miley Cyrus, as Mainframe. Also, Pete Davidson.

As confirmed by James Gunn, the ubiquitous Bupkis star, who previously worked with the director on The Suicide Squad (the good one), has a cameo appearance in the Marvel film. In response to a Twitter follower asking him, “Did you voice anyone in the film? And who did Pete Davidson voice?” Gunn replied, “I voiced the beautiful Lambshank. I don’t want to show her here because she’s too gorgeous & I don’t want folks to feel bad about themselves in comparison. And my friend Pete not only voiced but actually came to visit us in Atlanta for a day and played Phlektik on set.”

Lambshank is the disfigured blob monster that Mantis lets out of its cage, while Phlektik looks like the alien version of Pete Davidson. Good casting.

SZA Gets ‘Pissed Off’ About Something When She Listens To Her Albums

So far, SZA has a couple of albums to her name, 2017’s Ctrl and 2022’s SOS, and they’re both beloved. She has some EPs under her belt, too, but when SZA goes back and listens to her old work, there’s one element of them that doesn’t sit well with her.

On Twitter recently, SZA wrote, “I still listen to my albums and get pissed off at the mixes [face-palm emoji].”

A few minutes later, she also shared her favorite songs from SOS, tweeting, “snooze ,love language, kill bill ,nobody gets me ,ex pack ,blind ,good days ,gone girl, I hate u, F2F,low , seek and destroy , ghost , Sos , used. Personal picks.” She then added in subsequent tweets, “FORGIVELESS too,” and, “Open arms too.”

Meanwhile, “Kill Bill” recently reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time, making it SZA’s first No. 1 single. She took her time to reflect, eventually tweeting, “took me over a week to process cause I dreamt of this my entire career. didn’t feel real lol, still doesn’t. but I wanna say THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS. Every person, every fan base every ear that listened and pushed for me. Can’t believe we have a number 1 record.”

Eye-opening video explains why children stopped walking to school and why that trend should end

Over the past 40 years, a sea change has occurred in how kids get to school. Throughout most Western countries, an increasing number of children are driven to school instead of walking or taking a bike. In a new video called “Why did kids stop walking to school?” About Here’s founder, Uytae Lee, cites the U.S. Department of Transportation statistic that in 1969, 48% of kids walked or biked to school, and that number has plummeted to just 11%.

Uytae Lee is an urban planner and videographer passionate about sharing stories about our cities. The video was produced in partnership with TransLink, Metro Vancouver’s regional transportation authority.


The video makes a compelling case that more children should walk to school. It’s better for children’s health and reduces congestion and pollution from car exhaust. In a world where we are pushing for people to be greener, flooding the road with cars every morning to take kids on a short drive seems counter-productive.

Some parents drive their kids to school because they fear they could be abducted or hit by a car while walking to school. But Lee doesn’t believe that those fears should be a reason for parents to change their behavior over the past few decades. “As terrible as [kidnappings and car accidents] are, the statistics behind those risks haven’t changed significantly over the decades,” Lee says.

The video is a great reminder that reevaluating how kids get to school may be a good idea. When they take a bike or walk, it’s better for their health and that of the planet as well.

Doctors performed a groundbreaking brain surgery on a baby still inside the womb

Fetal surgery is undoubtedly a complicated and delicate procedure, with both physical and ethical implications. It’s rarely even an option for treatment, only being done for a select number of conditions and only for pregnant women who meet certain criteria.

And still, doctors at two Boston hospitals stepped forward to repair a malformed blood vessel in a baby girl’s brain two days before she was born, succeeding in the first ever surgery of its kind.

The baby, named Denver Coleman, suffered from vein of Galen malformation (VOGM), a rare abnormality where blood vessels connect directly to veins rather than capillaries, affecting the blood vessels’ ability to carry oxygenated blood from the heart to the brain. The resulting surge of blood pressure can lead to major health issues like congestive heart failure, losing brain tissue or an enlarged head.


According to a statement from the American Heart Association (via Newsroom) VOGM affects an estimated 1 in 60,000 births. The current standard treatment happens after birth, where surgeons close off direct artery-to-vein connections in the brain to block the excess blood flow. However, this operation is highly risky and not always successful, not to mention that by the time the baby is born, severe brain damage might have already occurred, making it too late to prevent lifelong or even fatal damage. Conversely, the new procedure, which was detailed in the journal Stroke, uses an in-utero, ultrasound-guided utero surgery designed to reduce the aggressive blood flow

Just two days after the groundbreaking surgery was a success, Kenyatta Coleman, Denver’s mother, went into labor. What’s more, she got to go home only a few weeks later, needing no further medications or treatments. Now at six weeks, Denver is a happy, completely healthy newborn.

“I heard her cry for the first time and that just, I — I can’t even put into words how I felt at that moment,” Coleman told CNN. “It was just, you know, the most beautiful moment being able to hold her, gaze up on her and then hear her cry.”

Denver is the first of an estimated 20 babies who will undergo this innovative new treatment as part of a clinical trial. Hopefully, she is the first of many kiddos to make a miraculous recovery.

The Lakers Took A 3-1 Lead Thanks To Lonnie Walker IV And Two Awful Late Turnovers From The Warriors

The Los Angeles Lakers are heading back to San Francisco with a chance to wrap up the series in five games after a 12-point second half comeback on Monday night in Game 4 against the Warriors.

It was a tense, sometimes sloppy game that had a wild finish in which the defending champs were the ones that looked a bit flustered and struggled to execute in the closing minutes. While Anthony Davis had 23 points and 15 rebounds on the night, he was quiet offensively in the fourth quarter and LeBron James was not his normal, efficient self, scoring 27 points but shooting just 10-of-25 from the field. With the stars not lighting it up, L.A. needed someone to step up and had an unlikely source spark their fourth quarter offense, with Lonnie Walker IV scoring 15 in the final quarter to lead the Lakers (after not attempting a single shot in the first three), knocking down the biggest shots of the game when called upon.

On the other side, Stephen Curry likewise had a tough shooting night (12-of-30) but was brilliant in every other area, posting a 31-point, 14-assist, 10-rebound triple-double. Unfortunately, he didn’t get the same kind of help down the stretch as the Lakers stars, and was part of the final minute meltdown that saw the Warriors unable to hit a go-ahead or game-tying bucket with a number of opportunities. The first chance came with just under a minute to play, when Davis made up for a quiet offensive quarter by putting the clamps on Curry twice, forcing him into a pair of tough stepbacks that went begging.

From there, Walker would fittingly be the one to knock down two clutch free throws, giving L.A. a three-point lead with 15 seconds to play. On the Warriors final possession, Draymond Green got caught in the air on the baseline and threw a pass that skipped by Andrew Wiggins and eventually into Anthony Davis’ hands.

Wiggins was able to force a jump ball to give Golden State one final chance at overtime, winning the tip with Curry grabbing the ball and falling to the floor. For some reason, rather than calling the Warriors’ final timeout, Curry just…threw the ball out of bounds, effectively ending the game.

Golden State threw up a hail mary challenge to no avail, and the Lakers were able to get the ball in and run out the clock on a Game 4 win that moves them into a 3-1 series lead. Walker was the hero for L.A., getting deserved props from LeBron in the postgame interview, praising the young wing for staying ready and rising to the occasion when called upon to give the Lakers some juice and young legs. It’s been fairly clear all postseason that James isn’t capable right now of just throwing the Lakers on his back and dragging them to wins, but the L.A. supporting cast has stepped up in some key spots to give him the help he needs on nights where AD fades into the periphery. On Monday, it was Walker and Austin Reaves (21 points) who stepped up and played huge roles in a big win for the Lakers.

For Golden State, it was a tough shooting night overall (12-of-41 from three), with Curry and Klay Thompson combining to go 6-of-23, with both missing some, we’ll call them bold, shots down the stretch. Klay had a pair of wild threes down the stretch of the fourth quarter that weren’t particularly close, and while Steph got a big four-point play to fall, he was unable to come up with either of his stepback attempts on Davis in the final minute. Given his success going to the rim all night, it was fair to wonder if Curry, even for all his shooting magic over the years, should’ve attacked the big man and forced the Lakers to collapse. Golden State had their chances and will be kicking themselves for the sloppiness down the stretch, as they let a golden opportunity slip away to tie things up and regain home court going back to the Chase Center.

Halle Bailey’s ‘The Little Mermaid’ Performance Was So ‘Brilliant’ That Even Jodi Benson Is ‘Proud Of Her’

Disney’s live-action adaptation of their classic film The Little Mermaid is only a few short weeks ago from its theatrical debut. At the helm of the movie is actress and singer Halle Bailey.

The public has been treated to her rendition of the score’s original song, “Part Of Your World,” and several trailers. However, last night (May 8), the stars of the project and a few other notable figures gathered for the film’s invited-only premiere in Hollywood, California.

One very special person in attendance was Jodi Benson, the original voice of the beloved Disney princess Ariel in 1989. Bailey’s casting has enraged quite a few people, including Fox News and its viewers. But overall, the public has been overwhelmingly supportive. One young fan at Disney World nearly brought Bailey to tears after their tight embrace. Having already seen the singer’s onscreen performance, Benson is another fierce support.

In fact, during an interview with ET, Benson shared that Bailey’s performance was so “brilliant” that she couldn’t contain just how proud she is of Bailey. “She doesn’t need any advice from me; she’s brilliant. I did the chance to meet her a few times and chat with her to tell her how proud I was of her. But I love that she has a purity of heart and a pure spirit. You can see that vulnerability, bravery, and that courage coming through, and it’s beautiful. I’m so thrilled for her, and I’m so proud of her,” said Benson.

Benson wasn’t the only former Disney princess to sing Bailey’s praises. Actress Anika Noni Rose, who played Disney’s first Black princess, Tiana, shared this with the outlet, “[Halle] has a kind spirit, and I don’t think that’s gonna change.”

The Little Mermaid is in theaters on May 26.

Spotify Will Begin A Takedown Of AI-Generated Songs With Fake Streams

AI-generated music mashups are all the rage. Unfortunately, while Grimes may be a fan of the technology-based artistry, other recording artists and their labels aren’t having it. Fans taking a few creative liberties with their favorite musicians’ voices might be fun for a good laugh on social media, but streaming giant Spotify is cracking down on which of these tracks make it onto their platform.

As per Boomy (in a report initially from Fader), the music streamer began taking down tracks using its technology on May 1. Their website reveals Boomy users have created more than 14.5 million AI-generated tracks. However, in a statement provided to Music Business Worldwide, Spotify is not specifically targeting the company or its users. Instead, it’s taking measures to remove songs with fake streams and inflated metrics.

A representative from Spotify confirmed that “certain catalog releases” from Boomy’s AI-generated songs were removed, adding, “Artificial streaming is a longstanding, industry-wide issue that Spotify is working to stamp out across our service.”

In the statement, the rep said, “When we identify or are alerted to potential cases of stream manipulation, we mitigate their impact by taking action that may include the removal of streaming numbers and the withholding of royalties. This allows us to protect royalty payouts for honest, hardworking artists.”

Spotify’s CEO Daniel Ek, has even gone on record to share his thoughts on AI, saying the technology is “huge for creativity” but, by the same token, acknowledges there is a “scary part” to it.

AI-generated music isn’t new by any means. However, as it continues to gain popularity, artists, labels, and streamers are looking to take preventive measures to ensure that it doesn’t infringe on their intellectual property rights.

Since launching her morning talk show in 2020, Drew Barrymore has emerged as a perhaps unexpectedly unique interviewer. Her mega-sincerity gets guests, particularly fellow former child actors, to really open up. Other times she’s just…interesting. She’s accomplished a lot over her career, including producing the 2000 movie version of Charlie’s Angels — which she did by making sure it didn’t fall into a very specific trap.

In an interview with Insider, Barrymore talks about wanting the film’s main trio to become instant heroes to female viewers. One way she did that was to ensure the female action stars didn’t “act like men or try to pretend they were masculine,” even when they’re kicking butt.

Barrymore says she didn’t want the characters played by herself, Lucy Liu, and Cameron Diaz to “want to all of a sudden become men and or hate men or try to be the man. It’s like, no, we’re the girls, and they are boys. We’re just like there’s something we’ve got to do, and we want to do it together. ”

Women, Barrymore said, don’t “have to take down the other gender or pretend to be like it.”

She also wanted them to be “dating crazy,” on top of saving the world. “While they’re kicking someone’s ass, they’d be like, ‘anyway, last night, hold on’. Like, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. ‘And then he didn’t call me back,” Barrymore said. “And that’s how girls really are in real life.”
