We Tested The Full Menu At America’s Fastest Growing Chain — Here’s What To Order

In just six short years, the hot chicken joint Dave’s Hot Chicken went from being a four-man East LA parking lot pop-up to one of the fastest-growing restaurants in America, attracting early investment interest from Drake and later from Maria Shriver, Samuel L. Jackson, and Michael Strahan. The concept was dreamed up by Dave Kopushyan (the titular “Dave,” who trained in Thomas Keller’s French Laundry), Arman Oganesyan, and brothers Tommy and Gary Rubenyan, who took $900 dollars and flipped the money into a viral chicken sensation serving some of the most Instagrammable food ever found in a parking lot.

Today, Dave’s Hot Chicken currently has 700 franchise locations across the US, Middle East, and Canada, and 70 locations set to open up this year. That’s bananas growth — an average of one new location opening up every five days.

So does Dave’s live up to the hype? Is the food worth all this buzz?

There was only one way to find out: we had to eat the entire menu. Yes, the entire menu. Okay, granted, Dave’s Hot Chicken has one specialty — giant, baby-arm-sized chicken tenders and chicken sliders (which are made using the same tenders). But they also serve up milkshakes and a handful of sides. Plus there are 7 different spice levels (no spice, lite mild, mild, medium, hot, extra hot, and reaper) — and we tried them all!

Check out our full review below!

The Tenders/Heat Levels

Dave's
Dane Rivera

Did I need to eat 7 different spice levels to get an idea of whether or not Dave’s is any good? Truthfully, no. But it was quite the experience and now I feel intimately knowledgeable of every different level and what each brings to the table.

Each order of tenders is served atop a single slice of white bread with a side of pickles and a way-too-small dip cup of sauce (a mix of mayo, chipotle pepper, a hint of sugar, honey, and maybe mustard).

Let’s run through each of them.

No Spice:

I’m not entirely sure who this is for [kids!] but it just seems odd to roll up to Dave’s Hot Chicken and get the chicken with no spice. Odd as it is, I appreciate it for giving me a clear picture of the baseline Dave’s is working with.

The chicken tender is gigantic! The chicken is well fried and tender, the exterior isn’t Popeyes-style crunchy, but it’s flavorful, with a heavy dose of black pepper.

Lite Mild:

Lite mild is an understatement, I wasn’t getting any spicy notes here. I can certainly see the paprika and cayenne pepper, but this comes across as more sweet than spicy. The sauce brings a bit more heat to the table and makes the experience much more savory, but even if you like spice but you want to play it safe, this is playing it too safe.

Mild:

This is where you go if you want to play it safe. You can taste some of the heat in the seasoning here, it’s a bit sweet and slightly smokey, with a heat that builds on the tongue as you make your way through the tender.

Medium:

Medium heat is another great option for those playing it safe, but be warned, if you don’t have an adequate tolerance to spice, this is where you’ll start to feel the burn. In exchange for that mouthwatering burn that sits on the tongue and stains the fingers, you start to get a better sense of what makes Dave’s proprietary seasoning so good.

Both the sweetness and smokiness are more prominent here — I’m tasting cayenne pepper, and some sort of chili powder mingling with garlic and onion powder.

Hot:

This is the baseline for spicy lovers. If your tolerance for spicy food is high this is probably the most enjoyable experience. As soon as you bite into this tender your salivary glands kick into overdrive, creating a mouthwatering experience that’ll have you slightly drooling and rushing through your meal to both tamp down the heat and satisfy your taste buds.

The sweet, spicy, and smokey notes are perfectly balanced here — it’s Dave’s Hot Chicken perfected!

Extra Hot:

Some people want their meal to be a battle and we respect that position, for those few Extra Hot is for you. The heat hits you faster and harder here, it’s the sort of hot that’ll make you constantly suck air in through your mouth between bites just to cool your burning palate down a bit.

Be careful though, if you inhale a bit too hard all of that spice is going to merge with your spit and burn your throat on the way down. It’s not a pretty picture to paint, but that’s the reality of this spice level. It’s the sort of heat that brings out a reaction in you, if you don’t want the people around you to notice the battle going on between your tastebuds and the spice, stick with hot, but if you want a little fun out of your food, Extra Hot won’t disappoint.

Reaper:

I love spicy food. I’m a Thai food obsessive, at every taqueria I frequent I always ask for the hottest salsa, I can eat chili peppers right off the bush, but I’m not the type of person who enjoys an uncomfortable eating experience. I like to enjoy my food, I’m not looking to prove something, I don’t like to eat on a dare, I will never take part in one of those One Chip challenges willfully. So I’m happy to report that Dave’s highest spice level, Reaper, is not that type of heat.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s hot, really hot, but at this point, the tender is so caked in seasoning that the experience is overwhelming, not from a heat perspective, but a flavor perspective. Reaper comes across as strangely sweeter than both Hot and Extra Hot, not that it doesn’t bring the heat, it does, but that sweetness is a bit distracting and takes your mind off the intense levels of spice.

Maybe that’s by design, but the result is remarkably edible. Ordering Reaper doesn’t feel like you’re just throwing money away for laughs, if you have a ridiculously high spice tolerance and you just love food that’ll make you sweat, you can order this and still walk away having a delicious experience.

Dave’s asks that you sign a waiver to experience “Reaper,” and in my experience, that’s just a gimmick. I didn’t feel like my life was in danger or I was dealing with heat so hot I couldn’t handle it, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say it didn’t add a little spring to my step when I tried this one. I left my chair, paced around a bit, and then hit the soda fountain for a refill. That’s fun, not dangerous.

Dave's
Dane Rivera

The Bottom Line:

If it’s your first time at Dave’s, go for the “Hot,” even if spicy food scares you a bit. This is Dave’s Hot Chicken, and it’s best enjoyed when you give in to that. If you love a challenge, “Extra Hot” will offer you the most enjoyable experience, but don’t fear the “Reaper.” It’s a fun experience if you can handle it.

The Slider

Dave's
Dane Rivera

Dave’s slider is the brand’s most Instagrammable food, it features a single tender (at any spice level) drenched in Dave’s sauce over a bed of kale slaw and pickles between a thin hamburger bun. With the slider, you have two options: with cheese, or without cheese.

For this tasting, I ordered the slider, “Hot,” with cheese. This wasn’t my first Dave’s slider, I’ve also had Extra Hot, Reaper, and Lite Mild in the past. As I said with the tenders, you don’t need to try every spice level to get a handle on what this sandwich offers, it’s pretty bare bones and delicious in its directness.

The bun-to-tender ratio is absurd, there isn’t a single Dave’s tender that would fit in this tiny bun, which means your first few bites will probably be just chicken (or you can start with the bun and whatever chicken is left over you could eat with your hands, your choice).

Altogether the flavors complement each other really well, the chicken starts off blazing hot, moves into slightly sweet territory, and ends smokey which is all elevated by the sauce which deepens the savory components while the kale slaw adds a lot of texture and tamps down the heat a bit with a fresh burst of greens.

At first, I was disappointed in Dave’s cheese choice here, my favorite spicy fast food sandwich, Chick-fil-A’s Spicy Deluxe, uses pepper jack cheese and it really adds a nutty and complex component to the overall flavor. Dave’s cheese is some sort of weirdly melted extra salty American cheese. I thought that I wanted extra complexity of flavor but actually, it’s not needed, I think the sandwich works better without the cheese.

The cheese is a distraction, between the variety of spices on the chicken and Dave’s sauce, the earthy briney pickles, and the cool nutty kale is more than enough to excite the tastebuds. The cheese just makes the sandwich seem overly decadent.

What I really love about this sandwich is the way all of the flavors soak into the bun with each bite, which helps to ensure your last bite is better than your first, giving you a strong close and an overall great experience.

The Bottom Line:

The chicken slider is the reason you come to Dave’s. It combines all of the best elements of this simple but well-crafted menu and shoves them into a single sandwich that grows in flavor (and heat) with each bite. This is quite possibly the greatest spicy chicken sandwich in all of fast food.

The Sides

French Fries/Cheese Fries:

Dave's
Dane Rivera

Dave’s fries are easily the most polarizing thing on the menu. This is going to come down to whether or not you like crinkle-cut fries, and for crinkle-cut fries, I think they’re pretty good. They’re crispy, and a bit buttery on the inside. The fries are dusted with a mix of paprika and salt, which gives them a slightly sweet and smokey flavor that pairs well with the chicken.

I’m less of a fan of the cheese fries. Like the cheese on the sandwich, I just find it to be too much. The cheese adds a lot of salty notes to a dish that is already well-salted. A better pair-up for these fries is Dave’s sauce, also I think the fries serve best as a palate cleanser to the more intense flavor notes in the chicken and sandwich.

In this case, bare is better.

Kale Slaw:

Dave's
Dane Rivera

I’m not a big fan of coleslaw in general, as part of the sandwich I think it’s a necessary component, but on its own, it’s just not my thing. For a slaw, Dave’s is pretty good, there is prominent use of kale with some purple cabbage mixed in offering a highly textural slaw that is part savory and enjoyably vegetal.

Mac & Cheese:

Dave's
Dane Rivera

Mac and cheese is a staple of hot chicken joints and Dave’s is pretty good. It’s gooey and salty with a hint of smokiness and spice mixed in for good measure. The closest fast food comparison I can make to it is KFC’s Mac and cheese, it focuses on that gooey experience albeit with a much more interesting flavor.

The Bottom Line:

The best side order at Dave’s is easily the fries, but none are so essential that you need to order them. Will you enjoy a side of fries more than an additional slider? Depends on how much bread you want to take down.

The Shakes

Dave's
Dane Rivera

I approached the milkshakes with some pretty high expectations because the day before my tasting my editor called me and said “Dude, Dave’s — best f*cking fast food milkshake.” I disagree. Now, to be fair to my editor, he doesn’t eat fast food that often, and his idea of a good milkshake is the Wendy’s Frosty. If you also love the Frosty, well, Dave’s milkshakes absolutely dunk on that, but if you’re a milkshake connoisseur, it remains to be seen if this is the “best f*cking fast food milkshake.”

We’ll put them to the blind taste test soon to settle the debate. From a consistency standpoint, Dave’s milkshake is great, it’s thick while still being totally drinkable. You don’t have to suck too hard to get the milkshake up the straw, and that’s always appreciated, and best of all it doesn’t come across as too runny, thin, or watery.

Vanilla:

I can sort of see where my editor is coming from when it comes to the vanilla shake. It is easily one of the best fast food vanilla milkshakes I’ve had in recent memory. Vanilla tends to be the base other ingredients are built on, which results in a flavor that comes across as drinkable soft-serve ice cream.

Dave’s is different, the vanilla component actually comes across like a legitimate flavor, not just a base. It has that floral delicate flavor that real vanilla has.

Chocolate:

Rich and velvety, Dave’s chocolate milkshake is malty and slightly toasty with a sweet finish that intensifies in flavor as it melts into the palate.

Strawberry:

Bright and refreshing, Dave’s strawberry milkshake has a flavor that starts fruity and ends with a cotton candy-like finish.

The Bottom Line:

Grab the vanilla. It may seem like a boring choice but it has a lot of depth and is a true testament to vanilla as a flavor rather than a descriptor of something that lacks any. Plus, it’s what most of the staff seems to recommend.

The Big Takeaway

Dave's
Steve Bramucci

It makes sense why Dave’s is one of America’s fastest-growing food chains. In our opinion, it lives up to all the hype.

It has a bare-bones menu that it executes excellently. Add to that dishes that appease our obsession with sharing things via social media, and an environment that constantly references music (the napkins remix famous rap and pop hooks and a fro-donning chicken at some restaurants looks too suspiciously like Napolean Dynamite to be a coincidence). Miraculously, Dave’s manages to do what so many restaurants wish they could — seem young and fresh without trying too hard.

If this is the future of the fast food landscape, we’re in good hands. Er… wings. Or whatever.

The Sea Breeze Is Our Official Memorial Day Weekend Cocktail — Here’s The Recipe

It’s the official beginning of summer. And while we’re not quite ready to announce our official summer cocktail, we are ready to party. Since this is going to be a party weekend with backyard barbecues popping off coast to coast, team Uproxx figured it was time to break out a true classic cocktail for the festivities. It’s one that’s super easy to make, you can batch, and… well, it’s summer in a glass.

We’re talking about the Sea Breeze!

While this feels very 1980s, the drink goes all the way back to the 1930s. The original Sea Breeze was more of a gin cooler with a lot more sugar and some mint. When the drink came back into people’s consciousness in the 1960s, it had become a cranberry-based citrus highball that was all about refreshing tartness. By the 1980s (the age of the wine cooler), it was huge again and then faded … again.

Now, it’s time for a resurgence because this drink rules. The best part is that it’s really easy to make. You can get all the ingredients easily. Plus, you really don’t need much prep — you can make this one fast and on the go. Let’s get mixing!

Zach Johnston

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz. vodka
  • 1.5 oz. fresh grapefruit juice
  • 3 oz. cranberry juice
  • Lime wedge
  • Ice

As I mentioned above, you don’t need to stress over the ingredients here. I used a small leftover grapefruit and some leftover cranberry juice from another cocktail I was making. Any decent vodka will do here as you’re using huge flavorful ingredients over the base spirit. The only thing you really want to assure is that you have fresh lime and grapefruit.

One thing that might make or break this for you is the type of cranberry juice you get. I like the unsweetened kind because it adds a tartness to the citrus. It has a bite and I get plenty of sweetness from the grapefruit (a very high-sugar citrus). That said, it’s not a very sweet drink that way. Standard cranberry juice from any grocery store will be plenty sweet. So figure out what you like and go with that.

Sea Breeze
Zach Johnston

What You’ll Need:

  • Collins glass
  • Paring knife
  • Jigger
  • Straw
Sea Breeze
Zach Johnston

Method:

  • Fill the Collins glass with ice.
  • Add the vodka, grapefruit juice, and cranberry juice and give a slight stir with the straw to incorporate.
  • Squeeze the lime wedge on top of the drink and drop it in. Serve

Bottom Line:

Sea Breeze
Zach Johnston

I mean, it should be pretty obvious that this is refreshing as f*ck. It’s fruit juice, citrus, and vodka with a touch of lime. It’s like a cool breeze on a hot day in all the best ways.

I like the tartness of the unsweetened cranberry juice (I also can drink gallons of Berliner Weisse and Belgian Lambic). But I also fully appreciate that tart isn’t everyone’s friend. Still, this is the very definition of refreshing from top to bottom.

Lastly, if you want to batch this for any brouhaha that you might be hosting or attending this weekend, just uptick to a bottle of vodka. That’s 25 ounces, which will yield 16 servings. So the recipe becomes as follows:

  • 1 bottle of vodka
  • 25 ounces of fresh grapefruit juice
  • 50 ounces of cranberry juice
  • 16 lime wedges
  • Bag of ice (pour the batch over fresh ice in a glass/cup)

Have fun out there!

Early Reactions To ‘Across The Spider-Verse’ Are Calling It ‘Mind-Blowing’ And The ‘Greatest Animated Film’ Ever Made

It’s finally time for the long-awaited follow-up to a certain popular franchise (not this one). Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse hits theaters next week, but early screenings are happening now, giving you just enough time to feel like you’re missing out for a week or so until you can actually watch it.

The sequel to the hit 2018 superhero smash brings back the many iterations of Peter Parker and Spider-Man with the help of vibrant animation and Oscar Issac. This time, Parker is pitted against the other Spidey-guys and has to battle it out in order to protect himself and his loved ones against his own kind. The film also brings back Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Spider-Gwen, and Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker. Jason Schwartzman has also been added into the mix as The Spot, a new character whose body doubles as an inter-dimensional portal. Hey… it happens.

While sequels tend to be hit or miss, the first reviews of Across The Spider-Verse have been praising the follow-up, with some even saying it’s better than its predecessor. While the general public won’t be able to judge for themselves until next week, here’s what the early viewers had to say:

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse hits theaters next Friday, June 2nd.

Kanye’s Latest Impossibly Ridiculous Outfit Makes Him Look Like A Shoeless Linebacker From Football’s Prime Concussion Era

For as much as Kanye West has declared himself a fashionable human being, he sure gets photographed wearing some of the most ridiculous outfits pretty often. Earlier this week, Kanye was photographed on what the New York Post called an “ice cream date” with his “wife” Bianca Censori. While his blue, sock-like Yeezy shoes were no surprise for fans, his latest accessory was the real eyebrow-raiser. Under a relatively standard-looking black tee shirt reading “Polizei,” the German word for “police” (a bad look, considering the past year for him), Kanye donned what appeared to be football shoulder pads underneath.

Naturally, fans on Twitter had a field day with the unusual outfit, wondering “What is he wearing?” — and perhaps more importantly, “Why is he wearing shoulder pads?”

Perhaps equally confusing, though, was the question of just what message he was trying to send with that shirt. After all, this was the guy who, just a few months ago, was fired from deals with both Adidas and Gap for espousing antisemitic views in multiple interviews. And let’s not forget Black Americans’ experiences with police over just the last few years (let’s stop at 100, or we’ll be here all day). It sure looks like Kanye’s either still trying to troll his way out of trouble — either that or whatever sense of self-awareness he had, to begin with, is gone forever.

You can check out the photos courtesy of the New York Post here.

The Runtime For ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’ Makes It The Franchise’s Longest Movie Yet

What do John Wick: Chapter 4, Fast X, and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One have in common, besides being three of the biggest action movies of 2023? They’re all around two and a half hours long.

IGN reports that the runtime for the seventh installment in the Mission: Impossible series is two hours and 36 minutes (without credits), which is longer than Fast X (two hours and 21 minutes) but shorter than John Wick: Chapter 4 (two hours and 49 minutes). Dead Reckoning is also the longest Mission: Impossible yet, and as the full title suggests, it’s only the first half of a complete movie.

The first Mission: Impossible in 1996 had a runtime of one hour and 50 minutes – modest by 2023 standards – and climbed to two hours and four minutes for Mission: Impossible 2. Mission: Impossible 3 was comparable, with a runtime of two hours and six minutes, while Ghost Protocol hopped up to two hours and 13 minutes. Rogue Nation bucked the trend slightly, with a runtime two minutes shorter than Ghost Protocol, before hitting a then-series high with Fallout.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout is two hours and 27 minutes, every second of which rips. Based on what we’ve seen in the trailers, including Tom Cruise’s “most dangerous” stunt yet, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One won’t feel its butt-numbing runtime, either. It comes out on July 12th.

If you’re looking for something a bit more loungey, the Electric Daisy Cardigan will get you there. It features a Merino wool cotton blend build with an all-over page daisy print. EDITOR’S PICK: DGK Life Crew / Pant

Style Watch
DGK

Price: $80 / $75

This floral-embroidered sweatsuit reminds me — and I think it’s specifically meant to conjure — the embroidered clothing of mainland Mexico often seen on mariachi bands. More recently, it makes me think of the fire outfit Ben Harper wore in his classic live DVD, shot at the Hollywood Bowl. The embroidery is impeccable and the mantra “Livin for Today” feels like something you actually want emblazoned on your back while exploring a festival or sitting by the fire pit after a long beach day.

Having just worn this outfit to a social event where people were far more dressed up than me but not feeling nearly as bold, let me tell you: It drew a lot of compliments as a full ensemble. Wearing one or the other at a time, you’re sure to still get noticed — the embroidery work is excellent and the branding sparks conversations. Perfect for afternoons in the park or on the sand and equally adept for hitting a club. (There’s no elastic at the bottom of the pants leg, so they feel both more dressed up and more breezy than more traditional sweats ever could.)

EDITOR’S PICK: One Golden Thread — V Neck Tree Shirt

Style Watch
One Golden Thread

Price: $88

I was a little skeptical of this brand when I first started seeing the shirts at festivals. They seemed to belong with sacred geometry tattoos, copper bracelets, and big, dumb hats in a sort of “guru/ cult leader” starter kit. And frankly, I didn’t think I could quite pull it off.

Then I tried this shirt on. The fabric is incredible. Shockingly comfortable. And they look good on you — favoring the features and form of even those among us who can’t pull off the gaunt look of weary travelers exploring the souks of Morocco before crossing the seas on a clipper ship while staring into the middle distance. Meaning that even the mortals among us feel cool in them. Like festival-fly-wise-sexy dude. Which is sort of the point of all clothing.

Between the vibe and the coziness? This is sure to be in my rotation a lot this summer. Maybe I need to get some copper bracelets too!

EDITOR’S PICK: Adidas Skateboarding x Dime — Tracksuit

Style Watch
Adidas

Price: $185 (For full set)

Confession time: I go to the Adidas website often to look for new tracksuits. I will never forgive myself for missing this one. So when I saw this Adidas Skateboarding x DIME collab drop, I had to jump on it. The Adidas tracksuit is just unequivocally cool and always has been — there’s a whole Air plot point that revolves around this fact. And this powder blue, oversized riff on the style feels very festival-ready — loose and casual and vibey. It’s sort of like early 2000s forest rave-wear meets some real Donnie Brasco-Sopranos wiseguy energy.

It would look cool on a skater and a festival goer and a mafia member, is what I’m getting at.

The loose-at-the-ankle pants have become a workwear staple for me — with a white tee and some Stan Smiths. But I’m headed to LiB this weekend and sure to wear them with a tank top and loose-fitting button-up.

Point being: they’re versatile! And fly! More of this, Adidas!

EDITOR’S PICK: Aviator Nation — Bolt Stripe Relaxed Cropped Pullover Hoodie (Kelly Green)

Style Watch
Aviator Nation

Price: $172

Aviator Nation sweats are some of the absolute best for beachwear. They just feel so natural to slip into coming out of the surf. They’re cozy AF and fit nicely. Plus the branding isn’t overly overt — I’m not trying to advertise for some corporation while I chill on the sand.

I got this one for my lady and she’s been repping it hard. She gets cold easily and the fact that it’s cut at the midriff allows her to dress sexy and stylishly without her teeth chattering. An absolute win as beach season approaches.

Jimmy Fallon asked people to share ‘funny, weird, or embarrassing’ stories about their dads

There are many traditional staples of fatherhood—love, support, protection, security, providing an example—but there is, of course, that other not-so-warm-and-fuzzy feeling that dads can provoke in their kids at any given moment … sheer, utter embarrassment.

Usually in a father’s humiliation tool belt is the infamous dad joke. These corny puns have been around since 2003, and let’s face it, they’ll never leave. Of course, no dad needs one to make your eyes roll. They can do that most of the time simply by being themselves.

For his well-known #Hashtags segment, Jimmy Fallon asked his “Tonight Show” audience to share “funny, weird, or embarrassing” stories about their dads. Fallon, a father himself, is no stranger to the cringeworthy power of a dad joke. In a 2020 interview with TODAY, Fallon admitted, “I’m starting to get the eye rolls now where Daddy’s not the funniest person in the world.”

Don’t worry Fallon! Clearly you’re not alone, because people replied with some truly hilarious comments. Dads might be silly, but we’ll gladly put up with it for the love they give us.

Enjoy 20 of the very best #DadStories. As usual, Fallon went first:

The World’s Most Fed-Up Lawyer Responds To Prince Harry And Meghan’s Paparazzi Photo Demand

If you haven’t been keeping up with the royal traffic violations, here’s what has been going down.

Last week, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were “extremely upset and shaken” after being involved in a paparazzi car chase while out in New York City. The NYPD seems to remember it differently, claiming that “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived at their destination and there were no reported collisions, summonses, injuries, or arrests in regard.” In response, Harry and Meghan’s team then demanded that the photo agency Backgrid turn over the photos from the ordeal, which Backgrid denied. Being a royal sounds like a breeze!

Don’t worry, there’s more. Backgrid’s lawyer seems to have no sympathy for the couple, drafting up a scolding response that somehow invoked the wrath of George Washington and the like:

In America, as I’m sure you know, property belongs to the owner of it: Third parties cannot just demand it be given to them, as perhaps Kings can do … Perhaps you should sit down with your client and advise them that his English rules of royal prerogative to demand that the citizenry hand over their property to the Crown were rejected by this country long ago. We stand by our founding fathers.

It’s bold to stand by the founding fathers in this day and age, but that’s what they did! It was then revealed that the lawyer in question is Joanna “Jo” Ardalan, who has represented Backgrid for over 5 years (per The AV Club).

“It was a galling request,” Adalan explained, which is why she then spent over two hours intricately crafting a response that was intended to “put them in their place.” The duo has not pressed any further, as it seems their place has been put.

Ardalan added, “Do they really think they can do that to businesses just trying to do their work?” which could, in theory, be applied to the Duke and Duchess themselves, who were also just trying to do their work by leaving an event and head home. What do the founding fathers think of that? Probably be shocked that electric cars exist.

Either way, it doesn’t seem like we will ever know what went down during the alleged car chase (though if they really had nothing to hide, maybe they would hand over the photos….) Still, it’s pretty understandable for Prince Harry to feel triggered by a paparazzi-led car chase, considering that’s how his mother Princess Diana was killed over 25 years ago. It’s almost as if we as a society should re-evaluate following people around with cameras for fear of public safety. Or something.

Lil Nas X Is ‘Never Shopping’ At Target Again After Being ‘Offended’ By One Of Their ‘Ridiculous’ Products

Target is at the center (sorry) of a controversy over its Pride Month offerings, which it has started to recall after threats by right-wing protesters. But leave it to Lil Nas X to put things in perspective with a tongue-in-cheek tweet imitating the temper tantrum being thrown by MAGA loyalists.

“can’t believe target is supporting this nonsense,” he wrote. “im never shopping there again.”

But while the first part of his tweet satirized the faux-outrage at Target for carrying Pride-themed products ahead of Pride Month, the second part hammered home how silly those protesters really sound.

“my son is not ‘too cool for school,’” he jibed. “these shirts are ridiculous. he is going to school and he WILL learn.”

Of course, Lil Nas is the perfect spokesperson to undermine the anti-LGBTQ agenda, something he’s been doing almost since he worked his way into the limelight with “Old Town Road.” He’s been accused of faking being queer for album sales, prompting him to reverse-troll the critics commenting about him.

And he’s only doubled down since, collaborating with fellow queer rapper Saucy Santana to give those prudes something to really get mad about. He’s killing them with kindness — and some truly great jokes.
