Nelly Furtado Makes Her Long-Awaited Musical Comeback On ‘Eat Your Man’ With Dom Dolla

At long last, Nelly Furtado is back with new music. EDM producer and DJ Dom Dolla recruited her for a new dance track, titled “Eat Your Man.”

On “Eat Your Man,” Dolla delivers an intoxicating, ominous track, as Furtado recalls some of her biggest hits.

“I’ll eat your man, devour him whole / Lickin’ my fingers, I’m in control / Fly like a bird, I’m takin’ it home / Movin’ my body like a nympho / I say it right, now do what I say / Apply the pressure into your veins / Blood on the floor, I’m pushin’ the pain / I let the creatures out of the cage,” raps Furtado.

Furtado and Dolla first met at Australia’s acclaimed Beyond The Valley Festival in 2022. The two realized they had instant chemistry and she sought his insight for new music she’s been working on.

“Meeting Dom has been an absolute blessing,” said Furtado in a statement. “We have a real creative synergy and trust when we work together – we hear music in a similar way and I am super inspired by his live shows. He’s reminded me how much fun music can be and for that I am grateful.”

Becky G Can’t Help But Feel ‘The Fire Inside’ On Her ‘Flamin’ Hot’ New Single

Ahead of the premiere of Flamin’ Hot, Becky G has a new soundtrack anthem for the ages. The reggaeton superstar has teamed up with legendary songwriter Diane Warren.

On the percussive, fast-paced song, Becky encourages the listener to chase after their dreams — no matter how wild they may be.

“Nothing can hold you back / No one can kill your vibe / When you got the fire inside / When you got the fire inside / Oh, you’re gonna own this life / ‘Cause you got the fire inside,” sings Becky on the song’s chorus.

Flamin’ Hot tells the true story of Richard Montañez. Montañez was a janitor at Frito Lay, who changed the snack game by channeling his Mexican American heritage to invent Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. The film was directed by Eva Longoria and stars Jesse Garcia as Richard and Annie Gonzalez as his wife, Judy.

The Weeknd, Playboi Carti, And Madonna Live The ‘Popular’ Life On Their New Single

Ahead of the series premiere of HBO’s The Idol this weekend, the show’s co-creator Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye has given us another taste of the show’s soundtrack. Tonight (June 2), he has shared “Popular” which features Playboi Carti and the original pop idol herself, Madonna.

These days, getting Playboi Carti and Madonna on a track is a task that proves equally difficult, however, The Weeknd, who is considered an idol of his time, managed to make it happen. On “Popular,” The Weeknd, who is likely singing from the perspective of his character, a cult leader named Tedros, alludes to a woman doing whatever it takes to become famous.

Over the course of the song, The Weeknd is likely alluding to Jocelyn, a fictional pop star on The Idol played by Lily-Rose Depp. Carti and Madonna garnish the song with hypnotic ad-libs and harmonies.

The Idol had its world premiere at Cannes Film Festival last weekend, however, the series, which The Weeknd co-created with Euphoria‘s Sam Levinson, was panned by critics, who likened the series to softcore pornography.

Viewers will finally get to see the often-delayed series this Sunday.

The Idol premieres 6/4 at 9 p.m. EST on HBO. Episodes will air weekly on Sundays and be available to stream on Max.

Madonna is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Charles Barkley Couldn’t Resist Making A Joke About Shannon Sharpe Taking A Buyout To Leave Skip Bayless

On Wednesday, the sports media world got shaken up by a bombshell report that Shannon Sharpe had worked out a buyout with Fox Sports to leave Undisputed with Skip Bayless after the NBA Finals conclude this month.

Sharpe has worked opposite Bayless for seven years, but there have been a few signs of friction over the past year, most notably after Bayless’ insensitive tweet about Damar Hamlin’s collapse during Monday Night Football and then Sharpe getting heated over a “personal shot” he didn’t appreciate from Skip during an argument about Tom Brady.

With that as the backdrop, late in the night in Denver after Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Charles Barkley recognized another opportunity to troll Skip, who is maybe the person Chuck hates the most in the entire world. After coming back from press conference coverage on NBA TV, Barkley went on a tangent about how the Warner bosses were in Denver and he read something on Bleacher Report, with no one understanding where he was going until he got to the punchline (that he was very proud of) of saying “if you work with a damn idiot, they’ll buy you out.”

Charles: “I did find out something. .. .I read an article today, if you work with a damn idiot, they’ll buy you out. I’m saying, I read it.”

Shaq [cackling]: “Chuck. Chuck. Stop.”

Charles: “Shaq, it’s not you. It’s not you [Grant Hill] and it’s not you [Matt Winer]. It’s not Ernie. But apparently if you work with a damn idiot they’ll buy you out. So, I just want you to know, I’m open to the buyout. I didn’t know it was that easy.”

Shaq, knowing immediately what Chuck was doing, tried his best to stop him from saying something wild, but Chuck was already rolling and Shaq himself couldn’t stop laughing. Charles will never miss an opportunity to troll Bayless and this one might’ve been the proudest he’s ever been of one — look at the face he makes when he delivers the punchline.

Shaq Dished Out Some Rare Praise For Nikola Jokic After Game 1 Of The NBA Finals

Nikola Jokic posted his ninth triple-double of the 2023 NBA Playoffs on Thursday night, scoring 27 points, dishing out 14 assists, and pulling down 10 rebounds in a 104-93 Game 1 win over the Miami Heat to open the NBA Finals.

It was an impressive display from the two-time MVP, who looked as dominant as ever against a Heat team that struggled for the first three quarters to slow down the Denver offense. While things got a bit tighter in the fourth quarter, Denver did what the Celtics struggled to do, which was right the ship and close out the win — with Jokic going to work as a scorer to ice things down the stretch.

After the game, Jokic joined the NBA TV crew on the court to discuss the win, taking a seat alongside Shaq, Charles Barkley, Grant Hill, and Matt Winer. It was rather jarring seeing how excited Shaq in particular was to talk to Jokic, as we’ve seen him for years bury bigs in the league for not dominating as he thinks they should, and the love was mutual between the Hall of Famer and Jokic, who couldn’t help but get a joke in about how Shaq was the guy who he modeled his game after growing up.

As the interview concluded, Shaq wanted to take a moment to give Jokic some rare props on the air. Shaq noted he’s not one to heap praise on bigs, but after finally getting to see Jokic up close and in person, he had to show love to the big fella and formally induct him into the Big Man Alliance.

It’s genuinely cool to see Shaq do this considering we’ve spent a decade listening to him take jabs at bigs for not dominating inside, and while Jokic doesn’t go about his business the same way Shaq did, O’Neal can’t help but appreciate the ways he controls the game and, when needed, gets it done in the post. You can tell it means a lot to Jokic to get that kind of praise from Shaq (and Charles, who also had lots of love for him), as he lit up as he joined the Hall of Famers for the postgame discussion.

Shaq also really, really wants to hang out with Jokic’s brothers, both starting and ending the interview by telling Jokic to introduce them.

Karol G And Aldo Ranks Get Into Trouble On Their New Song, ‘Watati,’ From The ‘Barbie’ Soundtrack

Karol G has teamed up with Panamanian rapper Aldo Ranks for a fabulous new collaboration. On their new single, “Watati” the two seek to dance away their cares throughout the night.

“Daddy, let’s go to the disco to have a good time / A lot of smoke, it smells good, getting dizzy,” sings Karol in Spanish in her verse of the song.

The song arrives as part of Barbie: The Album, the upcoming soundtrack to the Barbie movie. The soundtrack is produced by Mark Ronson and will feature new music from Ice Spice, Nicki Minaj, Tame Impala, and many others.

Having a reggaeton song on the soundtrack to one of the year’s most anticipated movies is a big deal for Karol. In a recent interview with W, she expressed happiness over seeing reggaeton and Latin music grow within the landscape.

“It has been very hard to find a place of respect in this industry,” she said. “Now I’m super happy to see the movement grow and be at the point where girls are representing and saying, ‘We have our side of the story. We have different situations and moods; we are good girls, bad girls, boss girls.”
