Nick Cannon, Who’s Up To 12 Kids Now, Had The Busiest Father’s Day, Which Overlapped With Multiple Children’s Birthdays

Nick Cannon has 12 children. This is surprisingly common knowledge amongst the public. Cannon doesn’t mind joking about it at his own expense (or Taylor Swift’s), which recently included admitting that Mother’s Day “didn’t go as planned this year.”

Father’s Day went better on Sunday, June 18.

Cannon’s twins, Zillion and Zion, turned two last week, and their birthday celebration appears to have bled into Father’s Day. Cannon shares Zillion and Zion with Abby De La Rosa, whom he also welcomed another child with last November.

“My little guys turned the BIG 2 this week! Thanks to our friends and family who came together to help us celebrate Zilly & Zion!” Cannon captioned an Instagram video.

Cannon also posted photos to his Instagram Story with his daughter, Powerful, whom he shares with Brittany Bell, and Bre Tiesi shared an Instagram video of Cannon with their son, Legendary.

Cannon’s journey into fatherhood began with his ex-wife, Mariah Carey, and their 12-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe. Along with Legendary, Powerful, Zillion, and Zion, Cannon is also dad to Beautiful, Golden, Halo, Rise, Onyx, and Zen (as chronicled by People).

Cannon and Alyssa Scott lost Zen to brain cancer in December 2021. The child was merely five months old. They welcomed Halo in December 2022.

Draymond Green Has Declined His Player Option And Will Be A Free Agent

The Golden State Warriors have a number of decisions to make this offseason, with Klay Thompson extension eligible, trade rumors swirling around Jordan Poole (who just started a new extension), and the likelihood of Draymond Green entering free agency.

Green officially entered the free agency pool on Monday, as he declined his player option for next season.

All indications are that Golden State will re-sign Green, even as Bob Myers leaves the franchise, as Steve Kerr has been vocal about how Green is a necessity for continuing to compete for championships in the immediate. Exactly what Green’s price tag ends up being remains to be seen, but after some wonder early in the season after the incident with Poole, few expect Green to end up anywhere else but the Bay for the immediate future. Should that go as expected, it figures to point to what options Golden State will be considering this summer for potential upgrades.

There have been rumblings about Poole being available, as well as Jonathan Kuminga, as the two-timeline plan has not gone as smoothly as the Warriors had hoped. Building up the roster for one more run around their long-time championship core seems like the most likely outcome, but exactly how many changes that involves is something the rest of the league will keep an eye on.

Trump Claimed That A Poll Showing Him Losing To Biden In 2024 Somehow Shows Him Winning

Donald Trump may be crushing the polls for the GOP 2024 primary, but that’s just Republican voters. As fellow Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger has argued, he still needs to win swing voters and independents — which he probably won’t do given his divisive rhetoric and generally chaotic vibe. A new Quinnipiac poll even shows him losing to current president and possible incumbent Joe Biden — again — but Trump, of course, doesn’t believe it.

“The Quinnipiac Poll FoxNews keeps showing on ‘TRUMP’ vs. Biden is not just an old Poll, it is a BAD Poll,” the former president railed on his rinky-dink Twitter clone. It’s not just a “BAD” poll, he claims, but an inaccurate one:

“It under samples Republicans by 10 points, which means, instead of being down 4 points, I am up 6 points. Other Polls show me much higher than that, but FoxNews will always attempt, as they did in 2016, to only show negatives on MAGA & TRUMP. We’re winning BIG, they don’t like it, the RINOS don’t like it, the Democrats don’t like it but, most of all, the Marxists & Communists don’t like it!”

On one hand, people have underestimated Trump’s electability before. On the other, Trump has a pretty well-documented history of claiming he’s won things he hasn’t (except for those times when he accidentally tells the truth).

But there’s another thing Trump’s doing here, as Raw Story notes:

In claiming that the poll is under-sampling Republicans, the former president is employing the same tactics used in 2012 when some conservatives “unskewed” polls they thought sampled too many Democrats to claim that Mitt Romney was actually defeating former President Barack Obama.

The final election results showed that, if anything, the polls underestimated Obama’s support.

Whatever the case, the 2024 election is still about a year-and-a-half away. A lot could change. Or a lot could stay the same.

The Weeknd Is Back With More ‘The Idol’ Music, And Moses Sumney Is Along For The Ride This Time

The third episode of The Idol came and went on Sunday night (June 18). There’s some confusion over viewership or whether it will demand a second season on HBO, and The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) is “loving” the controversy, but people can count on Tesfaye to release The Idol singles after each episode of the first season.

This week, we got “A Lesser Man” and “Take Me Back” from The Weeknd, as well as “Get It B4” from Moses Sumney.

The Idol aired its premiere episode on June 4. The following Wednesday, June 7, Tesfaye shared his plan to release singles rather than wait until the season finale to drop the soundtrack in full.

“I was planning on dropping the whole soundtrack for idol by the finale, but I’m too hyped… instead, I wanna drop new music from the show every week with each episode,” he captioned an Instagram post. “I’m excited for you guys to hear what we’ve been cooking and all these incredible artists that are a part of this show… this week… Jocelyn’s pop song ‘world class sinner’ and ‘the lure’ (theme score)… episode 2 this Sunday [purple devil emoji].”

Following the June 11 episode, the singles were “Family” and “Devil’s Paradise,” joining “Double Fantasy” featuring Future and “Popular” featuring Madonna and Playboi Carti, which arrived weeks ago.

The Idol was co-created by Tesfaye, Sam Levinson (Euphoria), and Reza Fahim. Tesfaye stars as Tedros, “a nightclub impresario with a sordid past” who develops a troubling (to say the least) relationship with Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp), a pop star on the back end of a nervous breakdown, according to the show’s official synopsis.

The next Idol episode is scheduled to air on HBO on Sunday, June 25, at 9 p.m. EST. All episodes become available to stream on Max.

Madonna is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

No, Wes Anderson Doesn’t Really Feel Like Checking Out Those AI ‘Trailers’ Imitating His Movies

The last six months have seen a massive and rapid uptick in Artificial Intelligence. In some ways it’s exciting: Such tech could lead to advances in medicine and cure so-far-uncurable diseases. It’s also terrifying: It could eliminate untold jobs or, worse, lead to some doomsday scenario out of sci-fi dystopian fiction. One of the odder examples of AI tech has been this: A number of people have made AI “trailers” resembling Wes Anderson movies. Yes, Wes Anderson knows they exist and, no, he isn’t watching them.

“I’ve only been exposed to it verbally. I haven’t seen any of it,” Anderson told The Daily Beast. “Obviously, it’s easy for me to go to the right web page and see it. I choose not to really engage. I guess it’s because I don’t want to get distracted by that. It’s a bit like if you’re told, ‘Your friend does a great version of you.’ Maybe you say, I’d really like to see it, and maybe you say, I don’t want to see a version of me, even if it’s good. It can be like, ‘Is that me?’ That’s not necessarily the thing you want.”

Besides, he doesn’t seem that into some modern tech. “At some point, I’m sure I’ll go in there and see. But I’ve never seen a TikTok, for instance, of anything,” he said. “I’m not going to start with me.”

Those fake trailers (which we’re not linking to) imagine what it would be like if the iconoclastic filmmaker, who has arguably the most instantly recognizable style in modern cinema, got his mitts on big IP, like Lord of the Rings, Dune, and Star Wars. They feature eerie simulations of his stock company — Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, etc. — as iconic characters, usually frozen in place.

And yet Anderson shouldn’t have anything to worry about: They’re surface-level imitations of his work, including the new Asteroid City, missing the spirit and even the wit of his work. They can’t even pronounce Timothée Chalamet’s name correctly.

Indiana principal had the perfect solution for child skipping class because of bad haircut

Middle school has to be the most insecure time in a person’s life. Kids in their early teens are incredibly cruel and will make fun of each other for not having the right shoes, listening to the right music, or having the right hairstyle.

As if the social pressure wasn’t enough, a child that age has to deal with the intensely awkward psychological and biological changes of puberty at the same time.

Jason Smith, the principal of Stonybrook Intermediate and Middle School in Warren Township, Indiana, had a young student sent to his office recently, and his ability to understand his feelings made all the difference.

The child was sent to the office for refusing to remove his hat in class. “So, I sat down with him and asked him why, what was going on,” Smith told WRTV. “He said he just got his haircut, he didn’t like the way it looked, and he thought his hairline look a little funny.”

Having a haircut that’s a little off can be like waving a red flag at middle school bullies. So, Smith decided to fix the situation by offering the child a haircut.

“I’ve been cutting hair most of my life. I played college basketball and I cut my teammates’ hair before games and I’ve been cutting my son’s hair for 17 years so I had professional clippers and edgers at home, so I said, ‘If I go home and get my clippers and line you up, will you go back to class,’ and he said, ‘Yeah, I will,'” Smith said.

A photo of the cut was posted to Facebook where it’s been seen over 21,000 times.

After Smith fixed the child’s hairline, the student kept up his end of the bargain and returned to class.

“You know that age is a time for peer acceptance. It’s huge. And So a young man, especially an African-American young man the barbershop is a big deal in the community. Looking good a representing and presenting yourself is huge for kids,” Smith said.

A few days later, Smith posted a photo on Facebook of some memorable cuts he’s given in the past. “Who knew a skill that helped me survive in college would be useful 20 years later?” he captioned the post.

A school principle gives a student a haircut

Smith saw the situation as a way to help the child in the moment instead of having to resort to disciplinary actions. From the child’s perspective what’s worse — being ridiculed in front of your peers or having a parent get angry?

“We’re not disciplining with a hard fist. You could call and have the parent pick up the kid up for defiance. Or you can sit and get to the root of the problem and see what can I do to help you? What do you need right now?” Smith said.

Imagine what the world would be like if more people simply asked each other, “What do you need?”

“He really was not trying to get out of class. He just thought that he would be laughed at. So, we took the time and did what we could to help him,” Smith said.

Smith recently posted a quote by professor Brené Brown on Facebook that serves as a great reminder of the practical power of solving problems at the root through compassion and direct action. “Leaders must either invest a reasonable amount of time attending to fears and feelings, or squander an unreasonable amount of time trying to manage ineffective and unproductive behavior.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger Seems Pretty Confident That His ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ Predecessor Donald Trump Can’t Win In 2024

As of right now, polls show Republican voters don’t want the pudding guy. They want to go old school. No, that doesn’t mean a return of classical conservativism. They want Donald Trump, the guy who last decade did a hostile takeover of the GOP. Even multiple indictments haven’t harmed him. If anything they’ve made him stronger. But there are some conservatives who seem cautiously optimistic that voters won’t fall for him a third time. One is his Celebrity Apprentice successor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

“I’m not worried about it because I don’t think it’s gonna happen,” Schwarzenegger said in a new sit-down with CNN’s Chris Wallace. He then broke down the stats.

“I just don’t think that you get reelected with 30% or 33% of people voting for you in your polls,” he explained. “Those are great poll numbers amongst conservatives, but I think if you put it all together, it’s not enough. You need the swing voters, you need the independents, so the question is can you do that? I believe he can’t.”

During the interview, Schwarzenegger argued that America needs a uniter, not a divider, and Trump is very much not a uniter. So who should be the GOP nominee? He’d do it, if he legally could — which, having been born in Austria, he can’t.

“Put me in because it’s, look — it’s a no-brainer. I see so clearly how I could win that that election,” Schwarzenegger told Wallace. “It’s like me and California, when I was running for governor,” he explained. “It was clear that people are looking for some new answer, not a right-wing or left-wing, but someone that can bring the nation together and doesn’t see the other party as the enemy.”
