Earlier this week, when reports of Britney Spears and Sam Asghari’s divorce first surfaced, there were other reports that Asghari was, as a source that spoke to Page Six put it, “attempting to negotiate concessions beyond his prenup and threatening to go public with extraordinarily embarrassing information about Britney unless he gets paid.”

According to people in Asghari’s camp, though, that claim is untrue.

Asghari’s rep Brandon Cohen told The Hollywood Reporter, “There are many claims that Sam is challenging the prenup and threatening to exploit his ex-wife with videos. However, all these claims are false, as no negative intention has ever been directed towards her and never will be. Sam has always and will always support her.”

Asghari also shared a statement of his own confirming the separation, writing in a post shared on his Instagram Story yesterday (August 17), “After 6 years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together. We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always. Sh*t happens. Asking for privacy seems rediculous [sic], so I will just ask for everyone, including media, to be kind and thoughtful.”

Spears has yet to publicly address the situation.

Jessie Reyez and Miguel are turning up the heat. Tonight (August 18), the two have dropped “Jeans,” a spicy, x-rated new collaboration.

The two have been teasing the collab via social media over the course of the past few days, and as always, Reyez’s pen proves to have made the song worth the wait.

“You fit / Better than a pair of jeans, baby / Fill me up better than a feast, baby /Don’t think I could ever let you leave, baby…Stroke makin’ me forget to breathe, baby / That face lookin’ like a seat, baby,” sings Reyes on the song’s chorus.

Miguel then chimes in with erotic, poetic wordplay of his own.

“And I see the way of your eyes / I know / I’m doin’ it right I love how you coach me when I’m close to the peak,” sings Miguel.

Both acts are having an exciting summer. Miguel is currently enjoying a viral resurgence of his 2011 breakthrough single, “Sure Thing,” while gearing up for a comeback of his own, beginning with his Lil Yachty-assisted single, “Number 9.”

Meanwhile, Reyez is currently on tour with Sam Smith, and is set to release her first poetry book, Words Of A Goat Princess this fall.

Known to craft her art on her own terms, Tinashe is laying down the law with her new single. Tonight (August 18), Tinashe is kicking off a new music project of hers with “Needs.”

As the song’s title suggests, Tinashe makes her needs known on the track, delivering suggestive yet sexy lyrics over a pulsating beat.

“Don’t be a tease / Grab them keys / Afterparty in between the sheets / Top floor shawty in a penthouse suite / I make you say, ‘Please’ / Please / I’m not easy, but I’m feenin’ / I’m just human, we all got needs,” she sings on the song’s chorus.

In the song’s accompanying video, Tinashe and her crew dance their way through an empty supermarket. In one spicy scene, Tinashe is seen naked, covered by cold-cut meats.

The track comes from her upcoming album, BB/ANG3L, which she will release via producer Ricky Reed’s Nice Life Recordings.

“For BB/ANG3L I was very inspired by the concept of identity,” said Tinashe in a statement. “Exploring both how I self-identify and also challenging the perceptions of others. I believe how we identify in this world is ultimately our own personal choice; and I’ve enjoyed stripping back layers of aesthetic fluff, smoke, and mirrors, and white noise to get down to the core of myself. Who we are at a core level, when we are alone – raw and unfiltered, is what I want this album to reflect.”

Davido and Latto aren’t here for the games. Tonight the afro-fusion hitmaker has teamed up with one of the hottest voices in raps for a remix of one of his hits, “Unavailable.”

On the fiery remix, Davido maintains his unavailable status, while Latto doubles down—both of them distancing themselves from the B.S. of trifling people.

“Unavailable, unapproachable, out of reach / I got ninety-nine problems and it’s never me / I have dragged that wagon like a f*cking chief / You took everything from me, but accountability,” raps Latto on her verse.

The song’s original version has become a global hit for Davido, and with Latto tearing up the charts in both the pop and hip-hop realm, it’s only fitting that she adds her magic touch to the remix.

“I am so excited to see how far ‘Unavailable’ has gone globally and seeing everyone hop on the dance across the globe has been awesome,” said Davido in a statement. “To have Latto, an incredible artist who we all love jump on the record, bringing her incredible energy to this song is pretty special and I can’t wait to see everyone having a good time all year round to this song.”

A new era of Addison Rae is upon us. Tonight (August 18), the influencer, dancer, and actress has shared her debut EP, AR/

The eponymous AR is comprised of some leaked songs that have appeared on the internet over the past few years, since Rae began making music. Though these songs had never seen an official release (until tonight, that is), the leaked version have garnered a cult following. On the EP is a much-anticipated collaboration with Charli XCX, “2 Die 4.”

On “2 Die 4,” Rae expresses her desire for a man who puts her on a pedestal—and won’t settle for anything less.

“My neck / To die for / My legs / To die for / This ah-ah sex /To die for / I want someone who thinks I’m to die for,” sings Rae on the song’s chorus.

The song boasts a bubbly, poppy track, and the addition of the brilliant Charli XCX brings the song that much more into the future.

With her new EP, Rae’s online community of followers hear her exploring new avenues, as the more zealous fans have been waiting on bated breath for her new music. Needless to say, her main pop girly era appears to be promising.

Week by week, Latto has been giving her magical touch to new singles. Whether she’s dipping her toes into the K-Pop pool with BTS’ Jung Kook, or revving up her engines with Jay Rock and Anderson .Paak, you can bet she’s coming through with the flames. Tonight (August 18), Latto is giving a fiery update to a rap classic with her new single, “Technique.”

“Technique” features a sample of Eric B & Rakim’s song, “Don’t Sweat The Technique” as Latto adds a feminine, Atlanta touch to the New York classic.

In addition to dropping so much new music this summer, Latto also announced that she has teamed up with Wing Stop, which will now be selling a “Latto Meal.”

“my man has the Latto Meal every night but y’all can now too at @wingstop for a limited time,” she said in an Instagram post announcing the deal.

While Latto has alluded to the aforementioned man on several occasions, she has not yet revealed his identity. In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, she said that she plans to keep it this way.

“If something is special to me, I’m going to keep it close to me,” said Latto, “because everything else has to be front and center about my life.”

Polo G is back, and this time, he’s putting his pain on display, while sending love to those who are hurting. On his new single, “Barely Holdin’ On,” Polo delivers a tear-jerking ballad over an emotional piano instrumental, as he sings of his hopes to live long and make an impact while he’s still with us.

“Barely holdin’ on / this life gets scary as it goes on / Burdens while we carry on / I ain’t perfect, spare me if I’m wrong / Hope my secrets get buried when I’m gone / starin’ at the writin’ on these headstones / They keep on tryna tear me, but I’m strong / that’s what you wanted to tell me all along,” he sings on the song’s chorus.

“Barely Holdin’ On” comes from Polo’s upcoming album, Hood Poet, which is set to arrive this fall. The accompanying visual was directed by Polo’s frequent collaborator, Araad, and sees Polo visiting fans who have been in dark places.

Toward the end of the video, the fans introduce themselves, and briefly share stories of receiving a vital transplant, surviving as a single mother, recovering from substance abuse, and perseverance after tragedy.

You couldn’t scroll TikTok this past summer without hearing Fifty Fifty’s hit single, “Cupid.” Tonight (August 18), the fresh new faces of K-Pop have teamed up with Sabrina Carpenter for a sweet new remix of the viral single.

On the remix, two of the biggest acts in pop lean on each other as they push through the heartache. Their sisterly bond through music makes a powerful force, as they continue to dance the pain away.

“I wish that I wasn’t so naive / and he didn’t turn me on so well / My heartache’s a real good melody,” sings Carpenter on her verse.

This summer has made for a breakthrough season for Fifty Fifty. In addition to a viral single, the ladies teamed up with Atlanta rapper Kaliii for “Barbie Dreams” from the Barbie soundtrack.

Carpenter herself is also having a good summer, as her song “Nonsense,” from her album Emails I Can’t Send, has been in heavy rotation. She also just wrapped up the album’s supporting tour and is gearing up to open for Taylor Swift on the Latin American leg of her Eras Tour.
