Olivia Rodrigo just announced her Guts World Tour for 2024, where she will be playing a bunch of arenas. Given the high demand and fans being excited, some might be wondering how to buy tickets for the shows.
Right now, fans have the ability to register through Ticketmaster for a chance to receive a code to participate in a ticket sale on Wednesday, September 20 and Thursday, September 21. The registration will close this Sunday, September 17 at 10 p.m. ET — and BST for those in Europe signing up.
American Express cardholders can also register through Ticketmaster to participate in an early access sale on September 20 at 3 p.m. local time. Like the fan registration, this signup closes at the same time on September 17. Users would need to also purchase the tickets with the card. More information on registration can be found here.
Finally, there will be VIP tickets available for the shows. According to VIP Nation, these would open to the general public on September 20 at 3 p.m. local. The perks include priority access to the GA pit, a VIP bar, special merch, a photo op in front of a VIP backdrop, and more. (There does not appear to be a meet and greet.)

Metro Boomin has had a hell of a year. On top of dropping his Heroes & Villains album last December, which features the hit single, “Creepin’” with The Weeknd, the prolific producer has contributed to Young Thug’s Business Is Business album, and he executive produced the soundtrack to Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Versesoundtrack.
As his impressive resume suggests, Metro has several hit songs to his credit. Next month, some of the biggest songs he’s produced will get new life through an orchestral performance.
Anthony Parnther and the Symphonic Orchestra will transform Metro’s biggest hits into new symphonies during a special performance on October 26 at Dolby Theater as part of the Red Bull Symphonic’s orchestra series.
“I’m very excited to be part of such an amazing music moment with Red Bull,” said Metro in a statement. “I have a deep love and appreciation for orchestral music, which can be heard in many of the records I’ve produced. Now, with Red Bull Symphonic, we’re able to reimagine a whole body of work that I’m proud of in a live show with the talent of the Symphonic Orchestra, which has always been a dream of mine
that I’m finally seeing come to life.”
Over the course of his career, Metro has produced for the likes of Drake, Future, The Weeknd, Nicki Minaj, Tinashe, and more. While a setlist has not yet been confirmed, fans are certainly in for a career-spanning performance.
Tickets for the performance will be available for purchase here beginning Friday, September 15.
Madonna has never been one to hold back. Over the course of her four-decade-long career, she’s delivered pop perfection, and she’s ruffled some feathers along the way.
In 1989, Madonna released “Like A Prayer,” the lead single and title track from her fourth studio album. While the song remains one of her signature hits, its accompanying video was the subject of controversy at the time of its release.
The video features Madonna seeking refuge in a church after witnessing an assault and murder, and kissing a statue of a saint that turns into a human man. There was also a Madonna Pepsi commercial that aired a few times on television at the time, but Pepsi quickly pulled the ad amid backlash surrounding the music video.
The commercial finally aired again last night (September 12) during the MTV Video Music Awards, as part of Pepsi’s new campaign, “celebrating 40 years of disrupting the status quo.”
34 years ago I made a commercial with Pepsi to celebrate the release of my song Like a Prayer. The commercial was immediately canceled when I refused to change any scenes in the video where I was kissing a black saint or burning crosses. So began my illustrious career as an… pic.twitter.com/zHBaBtGP9v
After the awards ceremony, Madonna took to Twitter to thank Pepsi for sharing the commercial again, despite keeping it in the vault for 34 years.
“34 years ago I made a commercial with Pepsi to celebrate the release of my song ‘Like a Prayer,’ said Madonna. “The commercial was immediately canceled when I refused to change any scenes in the video where I was kissing a black saint or burning crosses. So began my illustrious career as an artist refusing to compromise my artistic integrity. Thank you @pepsi for finally realizing the genius of our collaboration. [smiling emoji] Artists are here to disturb the peace.”

Fans can register now until September 17 at 10 p.m. ET (and 10 p.m. BST for the European tickets). If selected, the code will give North American fans access to a sale on Wednesday, September 20, and Thursday, September 21. The European sale will open on Thursday for those chosen.
American Express card members can also register to participate in a sale for early access tickets on September 20 at 3 p.m. local time. More information can be found here.
The tour will be offering VIP packages and the option for Silver Star Tickets, a limited number of $20 passes that are limited to two per purchase and must be bought in pairs. Rodrigo intended this to make it “easy and affordable as possible” for her fans to attend the tour.

For a minute, it looked like there was some beef going down at last night’s (September 12) 2023 MTV VMAs (aside from Selena Gomez and Chris Brown). A video of a backstage interaction between Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake showed Meg pointing her finger and wagging it at Timberlake while she sported a seemingly unhappy facial expression.
It appears things weren’t as they seemed, though. Later, reports surfaced that Timberlake said to Megan, “It’s so nice to meet you,” to which the rapper responded, “No no, this don’t count, this don’t count, we gotta meet proper.”
Sources tell @etnow that Justin told Megan, “it’s so nice to meet you.” Megan said “no no this don’t count, this don’t count, we gotta meet proper.” It was a very cute moment. #VMAshttps://t.co/hjR9Zc4GQN
A video that Meg shared on TikTok this morning seems to further prove that everything is good between Meg and JT, and that the supposed beef between them was just a big misunderstanding. The video — set to Do As Infinity’s “Fukai Mori,” which was previously used as an ending theme for the Inuyasha anime series — shows Meg and Timberlake hanging out backstage, smiling and laughing as they enjoy a friendly conversation.
Meg also included what appears to be an explanation for the video that sparked feud rumors, writing in her post’s caption, “I just talk with my hands lol [raised hand emoji] see ya next time @Justin Timberlake.”
Thanks to being held hostage by his own deranged party, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy announced that Joe Biden will be targeted by an impeachment inquiry. The more raucous members of the GOP like Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, and Matt Gaetz have been publicly pushing to impeach Biden. To the surprise of no one, a new report claims Donald Trump has been making aggressive moves behind the scenes to push the Biden impeachment forward.
According to The New York Times, Trump privately dined with Greene as recently as Sunday night. The two reportedly plotted how to make the impeachment process “painful” for Biden while sharing… halibut and Diet Coke? The dinner was private, but it didn’t stay that way as Greene proudly boasted about the intimate night with Trump.
On a sweeping patio overlooking the golf course at his private club in Bedminster, N.J., former President Donald J. Trump dined Sunday night with a close political ally, Marjorie Taylor Greene.
It was a chance for the former president to catch up with the hard-right Georgia congresswoman. But over halibut and Diet Cokes, Ms. Greene brought up an issue of considerable interest to Mr. Trump — the push by House Republicans to impeach his likely opponent in next year’s election.
“I did brief him on the strategy that I want to see laid out with impeachment,” Greene told the Times over the phone. That strategy involved making sure the impeachment inquiry is “long and excruciatingly painful for Joe Biden.”
The Times reports that Trump has been regularly calling members of the House Freedom Caucus, and particularly Elise Stefanik, to push the Biden impeachment forward.
The news of Trump’s behind-the-scene maneuvers arrives on the heels of a Harvard professor labeling the former president a “psychopath” over his intense desire to “lock up” Biden.
“Lacking a conscience or morality to limit his sadism, and believing in his worth above all others, leads Trump to think he has the right to destroy anyone who does not submit to him,” Dr. Lance Dodes recently told Salon. “Without the innate capacity for empathy toward others and a sense of right and wrong, Trump is an extreme outlier in human psychology.”
Rootin’ tootin’ Lauren Boebert stayed in the spotlight during August congressional hiatus, pitching fits here and there about wanting to slash certain officials’ government salaries and being rip-roaringly furious over Trump’s Georgia bail conditions. Congress is back in session as of this week, but Boebert had one last (for now) hurrah in Colorado over the weekend. This got chaotic, and reports emerged of her being kicked out of a Beetlejuice touring Broadway show in Denver.
Boebert surfaced on Twitter (of course she did) with an attempt to put a happy face on it by “plead[ing] guilty to laughing and singing too loud!” She also asked that someone could “please let me know how it ends!”
It’s true, I did thoroughly enjoy the AMAZING Beetlejuice at the Buell Theatre and I plead guilty to laughing and singing too loud!
Everyone should go see it if you get the chance this week and please let me know how it ends! https://t.co/8JHypcCKsP
As reported by The Denver Post, Boebert was booted after audience members reported her for vaping and causing a general disturbance. Now, a local NBC affiliate has acquired and published surveillance video (as seen above) that spans several minutes. Boebert can be seen being escorted out of the Buell Theatre by staff, and boy, does she look irked.
Naturally, yes, she’s pretending that everything is just fine, much like she did after showing up late to the Capitol an missing a vote against a bill that she had been raging hard against. Boebert had pretended to have skipped the vote on purpose (as a “protest”), but then she was exposed in video footage while running up the steps to the Capitol building and pausing, looking dumbfounded, while someone tells her that she missed the vote.
In the new surveillance footage, Boebert is shown looking angry as hell, as though she can’t believe that they’re really asking her to leave. She then relents and struts through the building while pulling up the top of her dress, as though it keeps misbehaving on her. Then she and her (unidentified) romantic companion are shown holding hands and doing little twirly dance moves.
Naturally, this Beetlejuice GIF is riding high on social media.
Lil Yachty recently shared some new selfies on social media to show off his new hairstyle, after cutting off his braids. He poses around backstage and sits on a couch.
“She like my haircut, it turn her on!!!” He captioned the series of pics, seemingly pretty excited about them.
“I chopped da top, f*kk it,” Lil Yachty also wrote in the Instagram post.
However, he couldn’t have anticipated the reactions. Some people were pointing out that he looked better, while others had jokes and harsher comments.
“What’s under the hat boat,” one user asked. Lil Yachty took it well, responding with a hiding laughter emoji.
Others had trouble even recognizing him. “WAIT I JUST REALIZED THIS IS F*CKING LIL BOAT???” another person quoted.
About twenty minutes later, the rapper tweeted that some of the comments were upsetting him. “I did not stop drinkin lean for n****s to bully me and tell me I look like I have leukemia,” he posted.
i did not stop drinkin lean for niggas to bully me and tell me i look like i have leukemia
Despite people trying to bully him, Lil Yachty did start posting a few of the memes to his Instagram story. One is a photo of a barbershop haircut menu with images of the male models, as someone notes that he got the “No. 15” and went bald.
This article was originally published for the 25th anniversary of the first episode of Late Night with Conan O’Brien. Dates have been updated for the 30th anniversary.
It’s been 30 years since Conan O’Brien introduced himself to TV audiences, replacing David Letterman as the host of NBC’s Late Night in the 12:30AM timeslot that had been (and which has long continued to be, thanks, in large part, to Conan) an incubator for some of late-night comedy’s most revolutionary and straight up weird ideas. To celebrate that anniversary, O’Brien announced the release of that episode on the Team Coco website while also promising the release of more when a full archive debuts in January. You should go watch it. Not only is it beautifully restored, but it’s a clear demonstration of O’Brien’s guts and a slice of punk comedy that still stands up. Need more info before committing 37 minutes of your life to the adventure? Check out this running commentary on the episode’s standout moments and how they tie to O’Brien’s long and impressive career in late night.
The Cold Open
No one can say they weren’t given fair warning that Conan’s Late Night wasn’t going to be typical.
News about Conan’s looming arrival was “everywhere” in the 1993 sense of the word — magazines, newspapers, Entertainment Tonight, and the nightly news. Just like we see in the cold open for the first episode. All eyes were on Conan, and because of that, it’s sort of remarkable that he didn’t hide from the mounting public pressure. Instead, he chose to face it head-on with a dark cold open that served as his initial introduction to an already suspect audience — a smart and surprising way to handle a tough situation.
The Monologue And The Introduction To Andy Richter
Part of the appeal of this look back is to see where Conan and Andy Richter were at the start. Naturally, everyone seems a little nervous and a little awkward in this first episode. Thank goodness NBC didn’t make a snap decision and gave the show enough time to gel, but I wonder if the prospect of failure helped drive the creativity of the show as much as it ratcheted up the anxiety. Starting with the first episode, there’s a definite feeling that everyone involved had decided that dying with their spurs on held more appeal than trying to be something counter to what they wanted to be.
Random Bits Of Weirdness Part 1
Conan: “You know what it’s time for?”
Andy: “Are you gonna show us a scar?”
I would pay $35 to know if that line was scripted. It’s such a minuscule and perfectly off-kilter moment designed to please 6% of the audience, Andy Richter, and Conan O’Brien.
Actual Small Town Items
Letterman left a legacy of subversive comedy that (sometimes lovingly, sometimes crankily) tweaked the late night comedy formula that had been established by Johnny Carson and others. When it came time for Conan to get rolling, he offered more of the same, poking at the convention of a “ripped from the headlines” bit (which Letterman and, later, Jay Leno, had done) by concocting fake stories with absurd details that were just obvious enough to count as a wink to the audience.
Variety marked it as a misstep at the time, but it falls right in line with the light anti-establishment tone running through the episode. John Goodman Wins The Prize Of Being The First Guest
John Goodman came out to great (fake) fanfare and was later invited to leg wrestle George Wendt. I’m not sure how those things landed at the time (I was 11 when I first saw it, and while I’m sure I laughed, I wasn’t a hard audience) but it’s easy to appreciate the absurdity and acknowledge how the overall interview fit into the puzzle Conan and company were building.
At its heart, this is an alt-late night comedy episode (show, really) wearing the pelt of a lucrative franchise over its shoulders. If someone were to describe this collection of asides, anti-interviews, and random bits without context I would assume they were talking up a brand new episode of The Eric Andre Show.
Random Bits Of Weirdness Part 2
Another slice of absurdity. This GIF really captures the greatness of this bit, so I don’t want to talk it to death, but I’ll say that this is another poke at convention in the form of a Laterplug for a fake interview with the surviving cast of The Wizard Of Oz.
An Important Message On Creativity No Matter How It Was Intended
Following an interview with Drew Barrymore about playing Amy Fisher (1993!) and tattoos, Conan spoke with former Odd Couple star Tony Randall, who offered a few backhanded compliments before Conan defended himself, saying, “It amuses me!” Randall then offered a take on art and going with one’s gut, though there is some question as to the intent.
“When you pander to your audience, that’s no good. […] No, not even a little. You must stick by your conscience, your artistic conscience. Such as it were.”
Variety said it was delivered by Randall in “mock affirmation,” but I think that was a cynical way of looking at it. To me, it’s an inspirational message delivered in good faith and also one worth highlighting while looking back on this episode and all that O’Brien has done in the years since.
It is an incredible feat of strength to survive in the pop culture churn for as long as Conan has. He’s doubtlessly done that with the power of a dextrous ever-curious mind and the uncommon ability to suppress ego and let other people have a share of the stage (think of the writers, bit players, and guests that have been given a chance to shine on his three shows). I could also go on about Conan’s willingness to grow and change — from leg wrestling to a pimp bot, old time-baseball, and using his show to re-focus a conversation on the people and stories of Haiti while fighting ugly generalizations. It’s the kind of expansive arc no one in late night history can claim. But above all else, it feels like Conan’s career has been guided by a coincidental adherence to the rules Randall laid out in this first episode. Conan isn’t the kind to pander. He knows what’s funny to him and what’s good, even as he’s grown and those things have changed. It’s as impressive as…
Random Bits Of Weirdness Part 3
Stop reading and go watch the first episode of Late Night With Conan O’Brien all the way to the end to see Conan and Randall sing a rendition of “Edelweiss” from The Sound Of Music while nuns, soldiers, and John Goodman, and Drew Barrymore cry. Why? Because a scared kid with little job security thought it’d be funny. And it really was (and still is).
Killers of the Flower Moon, Martin Scorsese’s first movie since 2019’s Best Picture nominee The Irishman, was originally about the birth of the FBI. But “at a certain point,” the filmmaker told Time magazine, “I realized I was making a movie about all the white guys. Meaning I was taking the approach from the outside in, which concerned me.”
Scorsese, screenwriter Eric Roth, and star Leonardo DiCaprio reworked the script to make it less of an FBI origin story and more of a love story between Ernest and Mollie, the characters played by DiCaprio and the “amazing” Lily Gladstone. That’s evident in the new trailer for the film (“I don’t know what you said, but it must have been Indian for handsome devil,” Ernest flirts at one point). You can watch it below.
Here’s more:
At the turn of the 20th century, oil brought a fortune to the Osage Nation, who became some of the richest people in the world overnight. The wealth of these Native Americans immediately attracted white interlopers, who manipulated, extorted, and stole as much Osage money as they could before resorting to murder. Based on a true story and told through the improbable romance of Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Lily Gladstone), Killers of the Flower Moon is an epic western crime saga, where real love crosses paths with unspeakable betrayal.
Killers of the Flower Moon, which also stars Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, John Lithgow, Brendan Fraser, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion, William Belleau, Louis Cancelmi, Tatanka Means, Michael Abbot Jr., Pat Healy, Scott Shepard, and Jason Isbell, opens in theaters on October 20th.
