When Will The Chi Return To Finish Season 6?
There is not an official premiere date for the second half of The Chiseason six at the moment. Deadline reports that the first half of the season was written and filmed before the writer’s and actor’s strike began. The scripts for the second half of six may be complete, but production stopped on May 15 in solidarity with the writer’s strike. With that being said, it may be some time before The Chi returns to complete season six.

Undeterred by fans’ criticism, Doja Cat has continued to lean into the impish imagery of her Scarlet rollout as she promotes the album in the wake of its release. The painting itself — which you can see on the third, fourth, seventh, and eighth slides below, features a black, horned figure in a red field. Later additions include a sinister grin and the words “not afraid” emblazoned across the background.
Doja’s rollout hasn’t been all “Demons,” though. The video for “Agoura Hills” paints a very different picture (heh) of Doja’s interests, highlighting her past explanation that the album was created over two very different periods, resulting in a much lighter half. But it still looks like she’ll continue tweaking fans’ nerves as long as it tickles her fancy.

It’s been too long since we’ve seen Nathan Fielder embark on some absurd antics on a premium cable network. Last summer, Fielder brought The Rehearsal to HBO, and some people are still trying to figure out precisely what went on there. We likely will never know. Now, Fielder is gearing up to bring even more tricks to TV, this time alongside Oscar-winner Emma Stone.
In Showtime’s new 10-episode series The Curse, Fielder and Stone star as a newly married couple who are co-starring in their home-improvement show while simultaneously trying to conceive a child. With Fielder, things are never that simple, though, and it seems that a curse is threatening to divide the family. Also, Benny Safdie is thrown in there along the way. This may or may not be a Property Brothers-inspired horror tale, but we will truly never know. Here is the official synopsis:
THE CURSE is a genre-bending series that explores how an alleged curse disturbs the relationship of a newly married couple as they try to conceive a child while co-starring in their new home-improvement show. The series stars Emma Stone (La La Land), Nathan Fielder (The Rehearsal) and Benny Safdie (Oppenheimer). Guest stars include Oscar nominee Barkhad Abdi, Emmy nominee Corbin Bernsen, and Constance Shulman.
The series sounds like it will be a fever dream combined with all of your interests: weird Nathan Fielder bits, Emma Stone’s charisma, and Benny Safdie’s….lurking presence. It’s a hit for the whole family! If your family is full of weirdos.

The series will premiere on Showtime and Paramount+ on Friday, November 10th before its on-air debut on Sunday, November 12th.
In Fingernails, the Women Talking actress stars as Anna, who is in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend, Ryan (Allen White), after a test developed by scientists told them they belong together. But after meeting and working with Amir (Riz Ahmed), Anna begins to question if Ryan is The One. “I was wondering if it was possible that one person could be in love with two people at the same time,” she asks in the trailer above. As someone who loves Jessie Buckley, Jeremy Allen White, and Riz Ahmed, the answer is: yes.
“Normally, the approach of conceptual stories like this is to create something futuristic, distant, or cold — or to create a whole new world and [only] care about that,” writer and director Christos Nikou told Entertainment Weekly about Fingernails. “But for me, you have to just make it a character study, to show the whole world through these characters. My approach is to try to create something that is not provocative or pretentious, but something that is tender, romantic, warm, and grounded — because that’s how I am as a person. Or I hope that I am.”
Fingernails, which also stars Annie Murphy and Luke Wilson, opens in theaters on October 27th before hitting Apple TV+ on November 3rd.
The mid-August wildfires in Maui, which rendered much of Lahaina into charred ruins, displaced residents and left long-standing businesses devastated. Yet there’s a sign of hope amid the ashes. The island’s iconic Banyan Tree, which boasts dozens of trunks, was singed by the flames, and officials wondered whether the 150 tree could survive and flourish again.
Yet month later, signs of definite life are at hand. As one can see in the above video footage (via local ABC affiliate KVIA), leaves are beginning to spring from the tree’s branches. Via CNN, local landscaping business owner Chris Imonti calls this “a sign of hope… [and] new beginnings.” He added that great effort, including the pouring of 5,000 gallons of water on the tree daily, is being expended by volunteers, and the results are promising:
“I would say about 75% of the tree right now is showing new growth, and we’re really happy about that,” Imonti said.
“The northeast corner of the tree got most of the heat so we’re still monitoring that part of the tree pretty closely,” he noted.
The tree isn’t totally out of the woods yet because the soil surrounding the tree is resistant to absorbing water due to the high temps it sustained, and it could obviously take years to restore it to its former glory. Yet there appears to be reason for some celebration, which is more than anyone could have hoped for only a few short weeks ago.
The recent festival boom has resulted in a slew of new, smaller festivals in unexpected places. There’s the Ohana Festival in Dana Point, California, All Things Go in Maryland, and Sound On Sound in Connecticut. There are also newer festivals in major cities, such as San Francisco’s Portola Festival, which shares this weekend with the above festivals. Focusing on EDM and hip-hop and headlined by Holo and Skrillex, Portola takes over Pier 80 Saturday and Sunday with a lineup featuring highlights like Jai Paul, Major Lazer, Thundercat, Rina Sawayama, and more. “Rollercoaster” musician Burna Boy is sitting on top of the world and has no plans to come down anytime soon. In July, the global music superstar became the first Nigerian artist to headline a stadium in the United States. But that was only the beginning for the self-proclaimed African Giant. Later this year, Burna will take on several North American arenas as part of his I Told Them..Tour.
Across the 16-date run, Burna Boy will make stops in Canada and each coast of the US. The tour will kick off on November 3 in Los Angeles, California. From there, he will stop in Vancouver, Houston, Chicago, Toronto, and more. Burna Boy has not yet announced if he will have any opening acts or supporting artists on this tour.
