Snoop Dogg Wants To Be The ‘Dumbest’ Person In His Circle And His Reasoning Is Pretty Smart

Given how long Snoop Dogg has remained a pop culture fixture and how many coals he constantly seems to have on the fire, it’s fair to say he’s probably a pretty smart guy. Or, at the very least, he’s surrounded by a bunch of savvy folks. If you ask Snoop, he actually seems to think the latter is more true than the former. In fact, he actually takes pride in being “the dumbest one” on his team, but he has great reasoning for that.

On Instagram yesterday (October 9), Snoop shared a video of a conversation he had with EPMD legend Parrish Smith. In it, Smith discusses the idea of surrounding himself with talented and intelligent individuals in order to drive himself to be his best; “steel sharpens steel,” as he phrased it. He concluded, “If you’re the smartest one in your circle, you got a problem,” Smith said.

Snoop responded with, “What do I always say, y’all? I want to be the dumbest one on my team. I’ve always said that, I just said that the other night. Because if I’m the dumbest one on the team, I got some bad muthaf*ckas around me!”

Stephen Colbert Is Absolutely Horrified By Donald Trump’s Australian Doppelgänger

There are people you can trust with keeping a secret, and then there’s Donald Trump. The former president will repeat every confidential detail you told him to the first person who gives him a compliment. Especially if they look like him.

Last week, it was reported that Trump shared “classified information about American nuclear submarines with an Australian businessman during an evening of conversation at Mar-a-Lago,” according to the New York Times. “Mr. Trump’s disclosures, [sources] said, potentially endangered the U.S. nuclear fleet.” The billionaire Trump blabbed to was Anthony Pratt.

On Monday’s episode of The Late Show, host Stephen Colbert theorized that Trump blabbed to Pratt because “he heard that the guy came from Down Under and he thought, well, that’s where the submarines are.” Later, Colbert, who joked that Trump was just following his old sales mantra (“ABC: Always Be Compromising National Security”) was horrified by a side-by-side photo of the two billionaires. “Oh my lord!” he exclaimed. “It looks like they made [Pratt’s] hair out of Trump’s face and Trump’s hair out of his face.”

Halloween couples costume, anyone?

You can watch Colbert’s monologue above, including the side-by-side at 4:15 and a funny bit about Trump’s bizarre fascination with Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal Lecter.

Janelle Monáe Took The Strip Club Stage, Hit The Pole, And Showed Off Her Dance Moves

There was a minute there, when Janelle Monáe began the promotional cycle for her album Lipstick Lover, when it seemed like every day, she was grabbing headlines for primarily NSFW or NSFW-adjacent reasons. She turned heads by dancing at a Met Gala after party and then turned even more with a wet t-shirt teaser video, and it continued from there. Monáe has been quieter on that front lately, but recently, the multi-hyphenate was spotted at Magic City, Atlanta’s famous strip club.

In a brief video clip, Monáe wears a relatively conservative dress as her own “Lipstick Lover” plays in the background. Standing on stage and holding onto a pole, Monáe busts out some simple dance moves that are good enough to get some dollar bills thrown in the air.

Monáe found herself in Atlanta as part of her tour in support of Lipstick Lover. She performed at the city’s Fox Theater on October 6, and Quavo even popped up to rap his part from Monáe’s recently released “Champagne Sh*t” remix,” which also features Latto.

Yesterday (October 9), Monáe shared a social media post reflecting on the show, writing, “I fail every time I try and describe this experience. Our safe oasis in every city. 6 more to go and I don’t want it to end. I love y’all so much and thank you for being on this journey with us.”

Janelle Monáe is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
