50-something-year-old dad impresses the masses with an adorable dad-daughter dance battle

Chris Starkey posted a video to Facebook on Monday of himself and his daughter Brooklyn doing a dance-off to Flo Rida’s “Low”—and it’s unexpectedly awesome. Starkey wrote, “My daughter challenged me to a dance off and said I don’t have it anymore. See that closet in the back she is still crying in it!!!” So much silly shade thrown around in this family, it’s delightful.

When you see their fun banter and Starkey’s middle-aged-man moves, you’ll see why the video has been shared more than 280,000 times in two days. Starkey wrote in a comment that the reaction has brought tears to his eyes and encourages everyone to “Give back to your community” right now. He also says another video will be coming on Monday.

Excellent. We need this kind of levity right now more than ever.

Who Will Be In The ‘House Of The Dragon’ Season 2 Cast?

House of the Dragon Rhaenyra Alicent
HBO

In the Game of Thrones era of George R.R. Martin’s empire, the Targaryens are nearly extinct. During House of the Dragons, however, there were plenty of them. Most of them with white-blonde hair, too, except for Rhaenyra’s first three children. [Cough] That is to say, the Velaryons generally had white-blonde hair, too, and between these two houses, the Hightowers, and loads of supporting and minor characters, the HotD cast is flush with humans.

Granted, we will meet some more dragons as well this season, too, but let’s focus on the two-legged actors. Who will appear in Season 2?

Well, we’ve officially got three queens on the scene. That would be Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy), Queen Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke), and Queen Helaena (Phia Saban). The latter is the sister-wife of King Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney), who I still cannot believe is a thing.

Other returning characters (and cast members) will include Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans), Prince Aemond (Ewan Mitchell), Eve Best (Rhaenys Targaryen), Corlys “Sea Snake” Valaryon (Steve Toussaint), Ser Criston Cole the incel (Feabien Frankel), Lord Larys Strong (Matthew Needham), and self-dubbed King of the Stepstones and the Narrow Sea Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith).

Expect new characters to surface as well. More word should follow, but at the moment, we shall meet Ser Simon Strong, the Castellan of Harrenhal (Simon Russell Beale), Ser Gwayne Hightower (Freddie Fox), Alyn of the Velaryon fleet (Abubakar Salim), and Alyn Hull the healer (Gayle Rankin).

And so, the Dance of the Dragons shall begin.

HBO’s House of the Dragon will return in Summer 2024.

A 92-Year-Old ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Mega-Fan Named Liz Went On The Show And Won Herself A Nice Little Actual Fortune

Wheel of Fortune
ABC

Wheel of Fortune tends to be the chaotic cousin of the more erudite and together Jeopardy! But just as Jeopardy! sometimes loses its marbles, so do nice things occasionally happen on Wheel of Fortune. Case in point: On Tuesday’s show, an old lady and longtime fan of the show got her chance to go on the program and win a lot of money.

Per Decider, 92-year-old Liz Wright and her son KC participated in the game show’s “Home for the Holidays” week, in which pairs duke it out for the big prizes. KC kicked off the show by heaping praise upon his mother.

“She spent the first 88 years of her life in Oklahoma with my dad. They, for 62 years, traveled the world, a hundred countries and seven continents. He passed, she moved down five years ago to be with me,” KC said. “And I say, you know, the first 18 years of my life you taught me how to use a spoon, do all the things, watch Wheel of Fortune. And then the last five years I’ve been able to try to give something back to her.”

The pair then proceeded to kick butt, so much so that soon-to-depart host Pat Sajak joined them at the podium to tell them they were having a “terrific night.”

The Wrights even excelled during the Bonus Round, when Liz pocketed an extra $40,000 after nailing a somewhat tricky puzzle whose solution was “Drizzled Honey.” On top of their cash earnings, they all scored a trip to Antigua.

At episode’s end, Liz said she’s such a Wheel of Fortune fanatic that she’d been watching since “day one.” That presumably means she’s been a viewer since the show began in January of 1975, although the current version didn’t start until September of 1983, when Sajak and co-host Vanna White took the reins.

You can watch Liz and KC crush it in the video below. Nice work, you two.

‘Princess Bride’ star Mandy Patinkin shared a moving detail about the film with a grieving woman

There was an emotional exchange on TikTok between two people who lost their fathers to cancer. One was actor Mandy Patinkin, the other was TikTok user Amanda Webb.

Patinkin currently stars on “The Good Fight” but one of his most famous roles is Inigo Montoya in the 1987 classic “The Princess Bride.” In the film, Montoya is a swordsman who is obsessed with confronting a six-fingered man who killed his father.

Webb recently lost her father Dan to mantle cell lymphoma. She had heard a rumor that Patinkin used his father’s death from cancer as motivation in a pivotal scene where he confronts the six-fingered Count Rugen (Christopher Guest) in a duel.

Rugen tells Montoya he will give him anything he wants after being bested by Montoya who passionately replies, “I want my father back, you son of a bitch.”

@mandypatinktok @alaska_webb thank you for finding us and sharing this! ✨ Sending big love and light to you and yours. More in comments. #grieving #cancer #dads ♬ original sound – Mandy Patinkin and Kathryn G

Webb’s father was a big fan of Montoya’s performance in the film so she reached out to TikTok to learn if the rumor was true.

“I saw on the internet the rumor that when Mandy Patinkin said that line, he was thinking of his own father who had passed away from cancer,” Webb said while crying. “And it was a very raw emotion. Ever since then, it’s kind of really stuck with me.”

Patinkin, who is a TikTok user, heard that the woman had reached out to him and he gave a heartfelt response.

“First of all, your dad is taking care of you,” he said. “Secondly, it is true, 100% true. I went outside in this castle and walked around and I kept talking to my dad.”

“The minute I read the script, I knew, I said to [his wife], I said, ‘I’m going to do this part because in my mind, if I get the six-fingered guy, that means I killed the cancer that killed my dad and I’ll get to visit my dad,” he said.

“That moment was coming, and I went and I played that scene with Chris [Guest], and then I went back out there and talked to my dad,” Patinkin said.

He then told Webb that she has the power to talk to her father, too.

“And so, you can talk to your dad anytime you want, anywhere you want,” he said. “If you could somehow let me know your dad’s name because I say prayers for anyone I’ve ever known. Now I feel like I know you, and therefore I know your dad, and I will list his name in my prayers every day, and they make me feel like they’re with me, wherever I go, and I’d like your dad to hang out with me.”

Webb responded with a video where she’s so emotional she can hardly speak.

Taylor Sheridan’s ‘6666’ Season 1: An Info Update On The New Season (November 2023)

Taylor Sheridan
Getty Image

Yellowstone has been a major milestone in the Paramount Network’s rise, and that includes the various Taylor Sheridan shows, including Yellowstone spinoff that have surfaced on Paramount+. As of now, two more spinoffs have released seasons, including 1883 and 1923, the latter of which has been re-upped for a second round.

Additionally, 1944 and 2024 will also eventually surface, but another, more intriguing-sounding series, 6666, will also join the fray. Would it be possible that some of these series arrive before the final Yellowstone episodes? Never say never, and Kevin Costner’s departure has certainly affected things. Here’s what information has been spooling out about 6666, which will certainly stream on Paramount+ when it arrives, and possibly elsewhere, like 1923 has even hit Comedy Central (as a Paramount property).

Plot

Of all of the Yellowstone shows, this spinoff seems most destined to be close to Sheridan’s heart and mind. Perhaps that’s because he can, if he so wishes, call the place home in real life. 6666 takes its name from the grounded-in-reality 6666 Ranch that Sheridan recently came to call his own. The ranch encompasses territory that stretches as large as two Chicagos, and 1883 has already filmed some scenes there. As well, Sheridan might be hosting some of his famed cowboy-style camps on location near Guthrie, Texas. The property is also known as the “Four Sixes” and originally took its name from a herd of cattle purchased when the joint launched.

As a prolific writer, Sheridan likely has designs to largely pen the scripts himself, and so far, only he knows the tone of the series, but in all likelihood, this will be a soap-opera-esque ride in manner of Yellowstone. Fictional cowboys based upon Sheridan’s own ranching experience shall rule that roost, and don’t forget that the camp also inspired Beth Dutton to “to start selling Yellowstone-branded beef.” In other words, 6666 is already a brand, and the storyline possibilities are endless.

Here’s the 6666 synopsis:

Founded when Comanches still ruled West Texas, no ranch in America is more steeped in the history of the West than the 6666. Still operating as it did two centuries before, and encompassing an entire county, the 6666 has inspired a new scripted series where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge in a place where the most dangerous thing one does is the next thing. The 6666 is synonymous with the merciless endeavor to raise the finest horses and livestock in the world, and ultimately where world-class cowboys are born and made.

Cast

Sheridan is increasingly known for pulling A-listers into his orbit. His recent non-Yellowstone shows have starred Nicole Kidman, Zoe Saldana, Jeremy Renner, and David Oyelowo. For 1923, he recruited Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, and that show will be back for a second season. Will he take the same approach for 6666? Word on the frontier is that Matthew McConaughey will be the main 2024 guy, but there’s no confirmation there, nor do we know who will headline 6666.

However, it does seem likely that a few Yellowstone actors, Ryan Bingham and Jefferson White, will be on the scene as ranch hands, given that there’s been mention of this spinoff on the flagship series.

Release Date

Taylor Sheridan and Paramount have yet to drop a precise 6666 release date, although Hollywood is about to start rolling again, hopefully at full speed, following the conclusion of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Previously, Sheridan did relay word (via TV Guide) that his progress on the series went a pause began this summer as the Hollywood drama unfolded.

Trailer

This series is so mysterious and hush-hush that no trailer exists yet. However, this Season 4 finale clip might go well here. This is when Jefferson White’s Jimmy had his sendoff, presumably to head to the 6666 Ranch.

We will be watching for more 6666 updates.

‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ Loses Its Director Amid Rumors Marvel Is Pivoting Away From Jonathan Majors

Kang Jonathan Majors Ant-Man Wasp Quantumania
Marvel

Things are not looking great for Jonathan Major‘s future in the MCU. Despite a Variety report claiming “Marvel is truly f**ked with the whole Kang angle” heading into the Loki Season 2 finale, the episode did not position Majors’ as the next major villain. In fact, it left an opening to forget about Kang the Conqueror, and now it appears Marvel may be doing just that.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Destin Daniel Craig is no longer attached to direct Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. This news arrived on the heels of a report from earlier this week that Kang Dynasty writer Jeff Loveness was removed from the project as Marvel pivots away from Majors and Kang altogether.

Craig will continue to be a key player at Marvel. He’s currently a director and executive producer on the upcoming Disney+ series, Wonder Man, and he’s developing a sequel to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which Craig also directed.

As for Majors, the actor is still awaiting trial after being arrested on domestic violence charges earlier this year. He was dropped by his management shortly after the arrest, and Disney pulled his upcoming film Magazine Dreams from its release schedule.

However, Majors continued to have a prominent and awkward presence in Loki Season 2, which was noted in early reviews. Executive producer Kevin Wright said the series finished production in Summer 2022, well before Majors’ arrest, and it was too late to edit the series. Also, Majors had yet to stand trial, and Wright said it would have “felt hasty” to remove him from the show “without knowing how all of this plays out.”

Jason Momoa Is So Excited To Host ‘SNL’ That He Forgot To Wear Pants

Timothée Chalamet hosted Saturday Night Live last week. This week, it’s Jason Momoa, another cruel reminder that Dune: Part Two has been pushed back to next year. But the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom star is still excited to return to Studio 8H for the first time since 2018, so much so that he forgot to wear pants in the promo for the episode.

When cast member Ego Nwodim realizes that he’s Donald Ducking (or Porky Pigging, depending on your preference of anthropomorphic cartoon animals) it, she tells him, “Yeah, hey, we love you, but you just can’t be wearing your underwear. This is a workplace.” But Momoa is determined, as he continues to dance around the set and picks up featured player Marcello Hernandez.

SNL will be Momoa’s first time promoting the Aquaman sequel since the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike, but director James Wan previously teased the film in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “What I like between this one and the first one is, you really do see the growth of Arthur,” he said. “He starts off as this kind of wanderer, and in the second one he finally has more of a direction of what he wants to do with his life.”

Momoa will be joined on SNL by musical guest Tate McRae on November 18th.

Jay-Z is one of the most loved and respected rappers in hip-hop history. That’s not a level you can really achieve without being extremely comfortable and proficient with language; A few years ago, he became the first rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame, a testament to his linguistic abilities. The way Jay tells it, it turns out he has had advanced language skills ever since childhood.

Last month, portions of Jay’s recent interview with Gayle King aired on CBS Mornings, but yesterday (November 14), an extended cut of the conversation was shown on CBS in the special Jay-Z And Gayle King: Brooklyn’s Own. During the chat, King asked if there were any particular teachers that influenced Jay as a boy, and he responded, “So Ms. Loudon was my sixth grade teacher. In the sixth grade, I was reading on a 12th grade level. […] And that excited me because everyone was excited. And Ms. Loudon, she was excited. I remember the feeling of it felt like me riding my bike at four, the way people reacted to that.”

The full Jay-Z And Gayle King: Brooklyn’s Own special, by the way, is currently streaming on Paramount+, so check that out here.
