Kid Cudi and Jorja Smith also make an appearance on the record with their respective songs. And so many more talented musicians are involved on top of that.

Lil Wayne’s appearance on “Hallelujah Heaven” was released as the first glimpse of the album back in November, which you can check out above.

Currently, Billie Eilish and Finneas are halfway to an EGOT (winning at least one each of the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards). They’ve got some Grammys and they earned an Oscar (Academy Award) in 2022 for “No Time To Die,” so that just leaves the Emmy and Tony. As far as the Tony, it appears the pair might end up pursuing it.

Eilish and Finneas guest on a new episode of The Hollywood Reporter‘s Awards Chatter podcast. During the interview, which was recorded in front of an audience at Chapman University, host Scott Feinberg asked if they would have interest in writing an original musical, for either the stage or the screen. Finneas responded, “For sure, yeah,” and Eilish replied, “Yes,” continuing, “Finneas has really, really good ideas for musicals already, and I’m so excited to see where they go. I’m very excited.”

Later in the chat, they were asked what’s on their to-do lists. Finneas reaffirmed, “I really do want to write a musical,” while Eilish answered, “I would love to direct a movie someday.”

Stephen Colbert Ripped Into A Wild Video That Claimed ‘God Gave Us Trump’

Last week, the ever-humble Donald Trump shared a video on Truth Social that claimed God made him to lead the country.

“And on June 14, 1946, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, ‘I need a caretaker.’ So God gave us Trump,” a narrator reads over grainy footage of Trump signing documents and talking to cops. “God said, ‘I need somebody willing to get up before dawn, fix this country, work all day, fight the Marxist, eat supper, then go to the Oval Office and stay past midnight and a meeting of the heads of state.’ So God made Trump.”

Stephen Colbert is willing to buy it (unlike many pastors), but only because “God also made that fish in the Amazon that swims up your pee-hole and shoots out spikes so you can’t get it out,” he said during Monday’s episode of The Late Show. “So, I’m just saying God’s got a mixed record on making things.” He added, “By the way, Donald, have you thought about going swimming in the Amazon?”

They say God created mankind in his own image. So does this mean God is a McDonald’s fanatic who dances like a baby learning to walk? Actually, that makes a lot of sense…

Did Playboi Carti Postpone His 2024 ‘Antagonist Tour’ Again?

Playboi Carti was supposed to head out on his Antagonist Tour last summer. Shortly before it was supposed to start, though, dates were pushed back to 2024. The tour was set to resume on January 14 in Salt Lake City, but now it appears that things are amiss once again.

Did Playboi Carti postpone his 2024 Antagonist Tour again?

It appears so.

The rapper’s website was updated, and now all his upcoming tour dates list the date as TBA (as Stereogum notes).

Furthermore, ticket links for individual shows have varying messages about the concerts being postponed. The Ticketmaster page for the Madison Square Garden show, for example, notes the show has a “Date & Time TBA” and says, “This event has been postponed. Your tickets will be valid on the new date when it is announced.”

So far, Carti has yet to say anything publicly about any tour status updates, it’s not clear why the tour was pushed back, and no new dates have been announced.

Meanwhile, the rapper has been sharing new music recently, including the songs “Different Day,” “2024,” “H00dByAir,” and “Backr00ms” with Travis Scott. The songs are expected to appear on a new album that’s rumored to be titled I Am Music or Music, but that has yet to be officially confirmed.

Is Dionne Warwick Involved In Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Campaign Fundraiser?

Dionne Warwick is saying a little prayer for users online who have fallen for false reports about her. On January 3, as the “Walk On By” singer browsed her favorite social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), she became bombarded with questions from users about her political connection with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. So, is Dionne Warwick involved in Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s presidential campaign fundraiser?

The short answer is no. A story published by DailyMail in December claimed that Warwick would be a featured performer during one of Kennedy’s events. However, after getting wind of the rumor, Warwick quickly dismissed the allegation in a series of posts on X.

“I don’t know anything about this event,” wrote Warwick. “I did not agree to it, and I certainly won’t be there.”

“This is absolutely ridiculous,” she continued. “If you are going to lie on my name, at least lie about something cool. Revealed: Dionne collaborates with Rihanna on new album.”

Warwick is no stranger to rubbing shoulders with US presidents (i.e., Bill Clinton) or even using her Grammy Award-winning vocals for social causes (“That’s What Friends Are For”), but this is not one of those instances. Warwick should’ve been enjoying the virtual flower-giving after being celebrated at the 46th Kennedy Center Honors ceremony, not swatting away online trolls.

Is Gunna Dropping New Music In 2024?

In 2023, the public counted Gunna out. Most thought he would never regain his footing in the rap game. But, boy, did the “Bread & Butter” rapper prove the naysayers wrong. After finding his footing upon his release from jail, Gunna hit the studio with a point to prove. As a result of his effort, Gunna’s highly-anticipated album, A Gift And A Curse, spawned his first solo top 10 hit (“F*kumean“) and Grammy buzz.

With such a red-hot year, fans want to know if the streak can continue. So, is Gunna planning on dropping any new music in 2024? According to a screenshot captured by HipHopDX (a fellow subsidiary of Warner Music Group), the answer is yes.

On January 5, The RapCaviar Podcast, hosted by Brandon “Jinx ” Jenkins, surveyed their Instagram followers to get a feel for their most anticipated albums for 2024, of which Gunna’s name was mentioned. Gunna hasn’t maintained a relatively low profile online since gaining his freedom, but he couldn’t help but respond to the expressed interest.

Although he didn’t provide many details, his one-word response of “soon” was enough of a validation from the overjoyed fan. Gunna joins the long line of slated rap releases, including Playboi Carti, ASAP Rocky, and Cardi B, to name a few.

Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Idris Elba & DB Maz’s ‘Knives Down’ Video Is A Poignant Anti-Violence Message Needed For Their ‘Don’t Stop Your Future’ Movement

For viewers, Top Boy, starring Michael Ward and Kane Robinson, is merely a high-paced fictional series showcasing the UK’s dramatized underbelly. Sadly, the violence depicted in the beloved show is all too real for those living in the country. For London native, Luther actor, and musician Idris Elba, he’s using his platform to shed light on the heartbreaking reality.

Fed up with local elected officials’ lack of action, Elba launched his community grassroots organization, Don’t Stop Your Future. In support of the movement, Elba joined forces with DB Maz for the inventive rallying cry turned single, “Knives Down.” In the MD Films-directed video, Elba takes to the floor of Parliament to demand changes.

Throughout the poignant visual, the duo shows the dozens of people who’ve lost a loved one to a knife attack. The same gut-wrenching storytelling goes for the song’s official cover artwork, which features an image of Ronan Kanda. Kanda was tragically killed in 2022 following a case of mistaken identity.

In a statement, Elba spoke about what inspired him to release the track. “I can’t stay silent as more young lives are lost to these brutal and heartless crimes,” he said. “As school returns, too many young people will not be joining their classmates, and too many grieving families have lost a young person they love in recent years. Young people are our future. Their potential deserves to be met, not taken away by violence.

Watch the moving video above.

Faye Webster And Lil Yachty Are Teaming Up For Their New Song ‘Lego Ring,’ And They Made A Game For It

Faye Webster Press Image 2021
Pooneh Ghana

Musically, things have been relatively quiet for Faye Webster. Outside of her single “Lifetime,” Webster spent most of 2023 recovering from her previously hectic 2021 and 2022. Now, she’s recharged and ready to get back into the swing of things. For Webster’s first release of 2024, she’s teaming up with Lil Yachty for their new song, “Lego Ring.”

To kick off the new year, on January 4, Webster took to her official Instagram page to tease the collaboration. The nonchalant Michelle Mercado-captured picture with Lil Yachty sent fans into a frenzy. “Putting out a new song next week,” she captioned the post.

On January 8, Webster followed up the initial post by uploading a snippet of the song. This time, instead of opting for a simple graphic, she unveiled the trailer for a video game (think Animal Crossing meets Guitar Hero) modeled after the record. As visitors put their own musical skills to the test, the instrumentation of “Lego Ring” serves as the fun fuel to keep going.

If “Lego Ring” is anywhere near as addictive as the online game, Webster will certainly earn herself a spot on Uproxx’s best songs list come December 2024.

“Lego Ring” is out on 1/12 via Secretly Canadian. Find more information here.
