Tory Lanez’s Insult To A Reporter During The Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Trial Inspired Her To Make Merch

After Tory Lanez was found guilty in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting trial, a legal reporter who covered it, Meghann Cuniff, has an interesting new business venture.

During Lanez’s September bail hearing, he had referred to Cuniff as a “googly-eyed b*tch,” which she is now using to her benefit and getting the last laugh: Cuniff announced that she’ll start accepting pre-orders for “Meghann Thee Reporter” and “Googly Eyed B*tch” merch later this week.

The logos were designed by Bryson “Boom” Paul, whom Cuniff had asked to design. Right now, there are three. One has an image of a courthouse, surrounded by the words “Legal affairs & trials / Meghann Cuniff.” The other two have a graphic of the outline of Cuniff’s face and glasses — with the googly-eyed one including her eyes in her glasses.

“I am very excited to unveil everything for you all!” Cuniff posted.

“Thank you to @meghanncuniff for reaching out and trusting me to create her logos as she ascends to a new level of notoriety in the media landscape,” Paul added in a separate post. “Congrats on the breakout 2023 and may the success continue in 2024. #meghanntheereporter.”

The items are currently available on Cuniff’s website, with options to purchase the logos on mugs, shirts, hoodies, and stickers.

Megan Thee Stallion is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

‘The View’s Joy Behar Left A Co-Host Stunned By Admitting She’s Yelled The Wrong Name During Sex

Joy Behar The View
ABC News

Joy Behar has admitted to having sex with ghosts and got extremely thirsty for Liam Neeson live on the air, so you’d think her co-hosts on The View would be prepared for her bawdy admissions by now. However, the comedian still managed to get a rise out of Sara Haines during a panel discussion on what not to do after sex.

The co-hosts were riffing on a New York Post article on post-coital activities, and Haines said bringing up an ex is definitely a move to avoid. That’s when Behar revealed that she once yelled the wrong name during sex, which left Haines visibly stunned.

Via Decider:

“When has that ever happened where you’re like, ‘You know what? You’re almost there, but he was a lot better,’” Sara Haines said, before Behar asked, “You’ve never yelled out the wrong person’s name?”

Haines immediately replied, “No,” to which Behar joked, “Oh, just me?”

When a shocked Haines grilled Behar on whether she was being “serious,” the longtime co-host shamelessly admitted, “Yeah!”

Once the table settled down from Behar’s admission, Whoopi Goldberg also got candid by revealing that her love life is more “hit and run” than her married co-hosts.

“You all are mostly in the bed with the person,” Goldberg said. “I’m the only one who can say thank you and goodnight because I’m ushering them out the door. Y’all are in there for the duration, so you have to be careful what you do.”

Matthew McConaughey Is Reportedly Considering Stepping Away From His ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff (Is Taylor Sheridan To Blame?)

It’s been nearly a year since we first heard about Matthew McCoughney‘s Yellowstone spinoff, which he compared to “an awesome vacation.” It doesn’t sound so awesome anymore: Life and Style reports that the actor is annoyed by the lack of progress on the series and considering moving on.

“Matthew can’t book movie work that is going to potentially overlap with the show,” an insider said. “But he still doesn’t have clarity on when exactly this job would even start. He wants to make the deal — it’s become this incredibly drawn-out process.” They added, “No deal has ever taken this long for Matthew. Especially after he won his Oscar, getting folks to meet his asking price has been a breeze.” McCoughney is reportedly asking for $2.5 million an episode, which is nearly double what Kevin Costner allegedly makes.

There might be another issue: creator Taylor Sheridan.

“Taylor’s got a reputation for being a jerk with a ‘God complex,’” says the insider. “Matthew doesn’t particularly like behind-the-scenes drama.”

The only drama the Texas-born actor wants is whether he’ll order the Patty Melt or Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich from Whataburger (go with the patty melt).

Besides, even if the McCoughney spinoff goes nowhere, there’s still plenty of Sheridan shows to go around, including 1923, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, and the original series, which wraps up later this year.

Travis Scott’s Nike collaborations have been some of the most sought sneakers in the game for a while now, and the collection only keeps growing with the recent release of the Mac Attack (or Cactus Macs, if you’re John McEnroe) and the upcoming release of the Jordan 1 Low in “Black Olive.”

But Travis isn’t stopping there; during the recent Chicago stop on his Utopia: Circus Maximus tour, he gave away yet another pair of sneakers to one lucky fan. This one, though, is one that only been seen rarely: the Travis Scott x Nike Sharkidon, an as-yet-unreleased collab resembling his upcoming signature Jordan, with forefoot straps and what looks like Air Zoom cushioning/soles.

When Will The Travis Scott x Nike Sharkidon Come Out?

Unfortunately, there is no release date for the upcoming sneakers, although according to Complex, an inner tag in some preview shots indicates it could be coming out in fall of this year. Meanwhile, the official Jordan Travis Scott sneakers are billed for this spring, although these are not set in stone or confirmed by Nike just yet.

Meanwhile, Travis’ tour continues through the end of this month, with dates remaining in Toronto, Montreal, Boston, Boston, Miami, and Orlando.

Husband’s misunderstood, completely made-up lyrics to popular classic rap song goes viral

Every person that enjoys listening to music has belted out incorrect lyrics before, either because you misheard them or you knew you had no idea what they said so you just made up words that fit. Even in today’s information age when lyrics are literally a few clicks away, people still sing the wrong words to songs. It gives it a little extra flavor. Think of it like lyric seasoning.

There was once a whole segment of people who learned that Def Leppard wasn’t singing “pour some shook up ramen” from a car cell phone commercial in 2002. Songs that people heard growing up before the invention of the internet will forever be sung with the wrong lyrics. But this guy’s completely made-up hilarious lyrics probably take the crown for most creative lyric swap.

Jay, who shares the TikTok account @yourstrulyaj with his wife, was filmed rapping his heart out to Bones Thugs-N-Harmony’s “Tha Crossroads.” He knew every word that shot out of the speaker at warp speed…or at least it looked like he did.

His wife, who was recording, stopped the music and asked, “What does he say?” That’s when the truth came out. Jay said, “I don’t know, I just be making stuff up.” But his lip syncing was so convincing, it looked as if he was singing the lyrics word for word. So if he wasn’t singing the correct lyrics, what the heck was he saying?

When she asked what he was saying while the song was playing, his answers left commenters in stitches.

“Hippopotamus. Group of guys gottemus.”

His wife can be heard wheezing with laughter at his confession, but he’s undeterred and continues singing, “What we gonna do when there ain’t nowhere to hide.” Commenters find his lyrics just as amusing as his wife does, including singer-songwriter, Muni Long who asked, “How you get Hippopotamus, Jay?”

@yourstrulyaj

“I been listening to this for 30 years and still don’t know the lyrics. His are good as any,” one person laughs.

“Don’t matter what he said…his lip sync game was on point…didn’t miss a beat,” someone writes.

“Let’s be honest when you actually see the lyrics to this epic song it’s even hard to keep up with the real words. Bone thus on another level,” someone admits.

It’s true, that members of that group, especially Bizzy Bone, known for his rapid fire lyrics, rap at a speed even other professional rappers would be challenged to keep up with. Jay gets a pass on not knowing the words, and his wife should get him a gold sticker for most creative lyrical styling.

Italy’s lifeguard dogs work with humans to create a ‘six-legged unit’ for water rescues

If you’re enjoying the gorgeous waters off the coast of Italy and find yourself swept out by a riptide or a rogue wave or in some other kind of water peril, you might be surprised by who comes to save you.

Lifeguards on Italy’s beaches will sometimes bring a canine companion along with them to assist with water rescues. These aren’t just any old dogs—they’re specially trained lifeguard dogs who are paired with a human, making a “six-legged unit” that’s able to paddle multiple swimmers to safety.

According to Ferruccio Pilenga, president of the Italian School for Lifeguard Dogs, our furry friends make ideal lifeguard partners because they are able to remain calm under pressure and instinctively choose the safest path through the water currents to get back to shore safely.

And because the dogs are able to keep both the rescuer and the person(s) being rescued afloat, they allow the human lifeguard to conserve energy and focus on being a more effective rescuer.

“I always say, to pull a sled you need at least six dogs.To pull six people, you only need one dog,” shares Pilenga.

The lifeguard school has over 350 certified rescue dogs. They currently save between 20 and 30 people a year, with those numbers increasing each year. These heroes jump from speeding boats and helicopters to reach people in distress. The training is rigorous and exhausting, but the dogs seem to enjoy it.

Watch:

Pilenga started the training school after his own dog, a Newfoundland named Mas, rescued his daughter when she was struggling to stay above water in a lake as a young child.

Newfoundlands make great water rescue dogs with their thick double coats, webbed feet, and immense size and strength that allows them to pull large loads behind them as they swim. But other breeds of dogs are trained at the Italian School for Lifeguard Dogs as well. The school is serving as an inspiration for other countries to utilize dogs to aid in water rescues. In fact, there’s even an American Academy of Canine Water Rescue in Massachusetts.

What a wonderful way to use a dog’s natural strengths to save lives.

When Will ‘After Midnight’ Premiere With New Late-Night Host Taylor Tomlinson?

Taylor Tomlinson
Getty Image

No one was more surprised than Taylor Tomlinson when she was announced as the newest network late-night TV host, but man, what an excellent pick by CBS. The 30-year-old comedy veteran already has toured for half her life and has racked up two punchy Netflix stand-up specials — Quarter-Life Crisis, Look At You — while careening across the U.S. In doing so, Tomlinson effortlessly gets real on difficult subjects like mental health while also comparing Taylor Swift to the Old Testament. It works.

Tomlinson came by that association naturally, given that she came into comedy while growing up in a Christian conservative family. She does not, however, keep things squeaky clean during her sets, and she will soon take over the time slot previously occupied on CBS by James Corden. No carpool karaoke here, though.

Her new show, After Midnight, will debut on Tuesday, January 16, according to Deadline. That’s only a few months after Tomlinson learned that she had the gig, and this will be a show that follows a similar format as @Midnight, that Comedy Central semi-game show hosted by Chris Hardwick.

The precise airtime? 12:37am EST. She will be the youngest late-night host on TV and the only female currently doing such honors. Ladies and gentlemen, she is damn funny, so get ready to hear a lot more about one of the top Taylors in the business.

Ariana Grande Fans Are Convinced She Subtly Revealed The Title Of Her Next Single

Ariana Grande November 2023

For the first time in a while, there has been some serious buzz around potential new music from Ariana Grande, who hasn’t released an album since 2020’s Positions. Now, fans think they’ve figured out the title of Grande’s next single, thanks to Grande herself.

Recently, she was spotted sporting a sweatshirt that read, “yes, and?.” As some have noted, she did the same thing before releasing “No More Tears Left To Cry,” so it seems to some that Grande could be dropping a song called “Yes, And?” in the not-too-distant future.

Also cited as evidence bolstering the theory is the fact that celebrity photographer Miles Diggs, who took the circulating photos of Grande in the sweatshirt, liked some tweets about the potential title.

Towards the end of 2023, Grande recapped her year in a post shared on social media, calling 2023 “one of the most transformative, most challenging, and yet happiest and most special years of my life.” In another post from around the same time, Grande shared photos of herself in a recording studio and wrote, “see you next year,” which sure seems like a clear indication that new music in on the way in 2024. There have also been signs that Grande was working on a new music video recently.

Is ‘May December’ Based On A True Story?

may december netflix
netflix

In May December, the new Netflix movie from director Todd Haynes, actress Elizabeth Berry (Natalie Portman) goes deep into her next role by obsessively digging into the life of Gracie Atherton (Julianne Moore) and her husband Joe Yoo (Charles Melton). The couple notoriously made headlines thanks to Gracie being charged and arrested after being caught having underage sex with Joe. Despite the scandal, the two remained together over the years and even started a family.

If all of this sounds familiar, that’s because May December very closely mirrors the infamous real-life story of school teacher Mary Kay Letourneau and Vili Fualaau.

Via The Hollywood Reporter:

In the film, Joe is 13 when he is first seduced by Julianne Moore’s 36-year-old character. Fualaau was just 12 when a 34-year-old Letourneau first victimized him in 1996. Letourneau later pleaded guilty to two counts of child rape.

There are many other similarities. Both men are Asian/Pacific Islander — Joe is half-Korean, Fualaau is Samoan. Both father children born in prison. Both marry their female abusers after the women have served jail time for their crimes. And a key May December scene features dialogue (“Who was the boss?”) lifted directly from a televised interview with Letourneau and Fualaau.

Those similarities were not lost on Fualaau, who did not hold back his thoughts when asked to comment on May December pulling heavily from his real-life relationship with the late Letourneau, who died from cancer in 2020. According to Fualaau, the production didn’t even have the courtesy to consult him.

“If they had reached out to me, we could have worked together on a masterpiece. Instead, they chose to do a ripoff of my original story,” Fualaau told THR. “I’m offended by the entire project and the lack of respect given to me — who lived through a real story and is still living it.”

May December is available for streaming on Netflix

Giannis Antetokounmpo And LeBron James Lead The First Round Of NBA All-Star Fan Voting

With just six weeks until the All-Star Game, voting for the starting lineups in the East and West is well underway for fans, and this year figures to feature some incredibly tough decisions for filling out the 12-man rosters in both conferences. There are a ton of deserving players, with a number of rising stars having big years and a lot of the familiar faces around the league continuing to play at a high level.

That means eventually we will get a number of snubs that had legitimate cases, but in the meantime, we will figure out who is going to get a guaranteed spot via the fan, media, and player voting section of the process for starters. Fan voting now accounts for 50 percent of the tally for starters, and the first round of voting results yielded very few surprises when the league released the voting numbers from the past two weeks.

While the captain format is gone, LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo are still your leading vote getters, as they often have been since James moved West. The current starters in each conference, if chosen by the fans would look like this:

WEST

LeBron James
Kevin Durant
Nikola Jokic
Luka Doncic
Stephen Curry

EAST

Giannis Antetokounmpo
Joel Embiid
Jayson Tatum
Tyrese Haliburton
Damian Lillard

All of those 10 players are deserving and there won’t be anyone shocked by that list. That said, it was a bit surprising to me to find Tyrese Maxey in fifth in East guard voting at just 480,000 votes (and Jalen Brunson sixth at 375,000). Trae Young is within 100,000 votes of Lillard for the final starting spot among East guards, but he has historically not done well in player voting, so it’ll be interesting to see how that race shakes out once the players and media get tallied in. On the other side, Doncic and Curry leading Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in fan voting is no surprise, even if you can make the argument SGA deserves a starting spot in the West backcourt — he is a lock to be a coaches pick, so there won’t be any real snub issues there.

There really isn’t a race in either frontcourt, as the top-3 have a clear separation in the East and West, and I’d be shocked if anything changes there even with the players and media voting still yet to happen. The only real drama with starters will come via the players and media on the guard side, who could shake up those rosters a touch, but this gives us a good idea of who will be starting for the East and West in Indianapolis in February.
