Drake and J. Cole have postponed their upcoming joint tour, which was originally scheduled to start later this week in Denver. The It’s All a Blur Tour — Big As the What? was billed to begin on January 18 with two shows in Denver, then proceed through the end of March, ending in Birmingham, Alabama. 10 new dates were added a few days later.
Now, though, according to Billboard, it’ll instead kick off in Tampa, Florida on February 2, with the two Denver dates moved to the end of the tour on April 15 and 16. Although Billboard has reached out to reps for both artists, as of this writing, no reason has been given for the delay.

Hip- hop has seen its fair share of high-profile criminal trials, but perhaps none will be more impactful to the genre as a whole than the ongoing racketeering trial against Atlanta rapper Young Thug and his crew, YSL. While YSL is ostensibly the name of Thug’s record label, according to Georgia prosecutors, it’s actually the title of a violent street gang, Young Slime Life, with the trapper turned rapper at its head.
Over the past few months, it seems all of hip-hop culture’s eyes have been on the court proceedings due to the impact their outcome could have — not just on Young Thug and YSL, but on hip-hop as a whole. Because the Fulton County District Attorney’s indictment cites Thug’s lyrics as the main evidence against him for violations of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, the case has drawn national attention, with many observers calling this decision prejudiced against a musical form invented and primarily practiced by Black artists.
Because of the case’s import, plenty lf people will naturally want to follow it in real time, and fortunately for them, the trial is being livestreamed by multiple networks, a testament to public interest in the case. Among the networks livestreaming the trial are Fox 5 Atlanta, Law & Crime Network, and Atlanta News First.
In addition, in-depth coverage and commentary has been provided throughout by legal affairs journalist Meghann Cuniff, who gained attention during the assault trial against Tory Lanez for shooting Megan Thee Stallion (she aslo gained the affectionate nickname Meghann Thee Reporter from followers online). Her YouTube channel also includes a stream and her commentary with explanations and breakdowns for those viewers who aren’t familiar with legal proceedings.
The trial is currently on hiatus and scheduled to restart on January 22.
Young Thug is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
Better Call Saul set an Emmys record on Sunday, but not the good kind of record. More of a “Buffalo Bills lost four Super Bowls in a row” kind of record. The Breaking Bad prequel (and postquel) was nominated 53 times during its incredible six-season run, and lost every one of them. No other show has more nominations with zero wins. Justice for Rhea Seehorn. At least Saul is in good company: here are 10 other great shows that never won an Emmy.
BoJack Horseman
Netflix
Number of nominations: 3
Only two animated shows have been up for Outstanding Comedy Series: The Flintstones and Family Guy.BoJack Horseman, which blended goofy comedy and deep sadness like few shows ever have, should have been the third (or, more accurately, the 12th after The Simpsons, Futurama, South Park, etc.), but it was kept in the animated categories, where it lost three times.
Chappelle’s Show
comedy central
Number of nominations: 3
Chappelle, of course, was the co-creator and star of Chappelle’s Show, the most widely-quoted comedy of the early 2000s. The love for the sketch series didn’t extend to the Emmys, however, which only found room for three nominations (no wins). Other shut-out classic Comedy Central shows, like Nathan for You, Detroiters, and Review, can relate.
Good Times
CBS
Number of nominations: 0
Host Anthony Anderson sang the Good Times theme song during Sunday’s Emmys, but it was too little, too late: the show wasn’t nominated even once.
Halt and Catch Fire
AMC
Number of nominations: 1
Did Emmy voters stop watching Halt and Catch Fire after season one? I don’t blame them: it started as a mediocre Mad Men rip-off. But once the drama became more of an ensemble, it blossomed into one of the best shows of the 2010s. Season three, in particular, is essential viewing.
Hannibal
NBC
Number of nominations: 1
At least the one nomination it got was for visual effects? (It didn’t win.)
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
FX
Number of nominations: 0
It’s Always Sunny‘s lack of recognition from the Emmys is so notorious, there’s an entire episode of the show about it. The only time the Gang — Glenn Howerton, Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, Kaitlin Olson, and Danny DeVito — was even invited to the ceremony together was when McElhenney’s other show, Welcome to Wrexham, won a bunch of awards.
The Leftovers
HBO
Number of nominations: 1
Carrie Coon was the original Rhea Seehorn.
Parks and Recreation
NBC
Number of nominations: 14
I’m shocked, too, but the feel-good comedy of the Obama era was up for over a dozen Emmys, including Amy Poehler for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series four times (zero nominations for Nick Offerman, Chris Pratt, and Aubrey Plaza), with zero wins. Creator Michael Schur didn’t fare any better with his next show: The Good Place was zero for 13.
Star Trek
NBC
Number of nominations: 13
To give the Emmys some credit, Star Trek, which aired for three little-seen seasons and didn’t become a hit until it entered syndication, was nominated for Outstanding Dramatic Series twice. That’s very ahead of time for them. To take that credit away, Star Trek never won anything, not even for writing for “The City on the Edge of Forever.”
The Wire
hbo
Number of nominations: 2
Better Call Saul never winning an Emmy is one thing (that thing is bad). But it’s appalling that The Wire, a candidate for the greatest TV drama ever, only got two nominations (Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series twice) during its five-season run — and it didn’t even win those. An all-time terrible omission.
Uproxx formulated their most anticipated albums slated to drop in 2024. Although Khruangbin didn’t make the list, it wasn’t because fans aren’t yearning for a body of work from the band. Following their jam-packed schedule on the road, recording a new project just didn’t seem to be a priority for the group.
However, on January 16, Khruangbin shocked fans by announcing their first solo album in four years, A La Sala. In 2022, the group linked up with Vieux Farka Touré for Ali, and there was the Texas Moon EP with Leon Bridges that same year, but fans have been craving a new stand-alone collection from Khruangbin. To give their supporters a taste of what’s to come, Khruangbin dropped the album’s lead single, “A Love International.”
Khruangbin’s genre-fluidity has helped them amass a broad fan base, and their latest song, “A Love International,” maintains that creative stronghold. From the sonic dance of the guitar and bass, you cannot help but find yourself lost in the melody of the record. A La Sala is sure to be equally as addictive.
Listen to “A Love International” above. Below, find the A La Sala cover art and tracklist.

We’d all like to believe that we know our pets. Every pet has their own distinctive look and even if they look like a sibling, they have different personalities making it much easier to identify your pet. But every once in awhile there’s a bit of a mixup where you see a cat outside that looks like yours so you find yourself frantically darting out the door while your cat is asleep under your bed.
One couple’s cat mixup went in a different direction. They brought their cat inside and piddled around the house for a few hours before settling in for a snuggle session on the couch. It was then that the cat’s mom noticed a cat outside that looked exactly like their cuddly little guy.
Instantly you see the confusion and concern register when they look closely at the imposter enjoying all the extra attention while the other stares from outside. Surely the real cat was offended that his own parents didn’t know they were snuggling up to a generic version of him.
“Babe, look at the cat outside. That looks like you Rado, is that your brother,” the cat mom asks before appearing unsure if the cat in her husband’s arms is actually their cat. Turned out the cat was not theirs and they quickly let the strange cat outside and scooped up their own cat. Commenters found the now viral situation hilarious.
One person writes, “slight error in the cat distribution system.”
Another commenter says, “the way its body language is screaming ‘kidnapped.'”
Someone laughs, “the fact that the cat was going to play it off and continue his days as Rado.”
“Plot twist,” a commenter writes. “Cats been switching places for months and they just noticed.”
In a follow up video, Brandon Robert, Rado’s dad, shows the photo a their actual cat and the imposter. They’re strikingly similar so it’s easy to see how Robert picked up the wrong cat while not wearing his glasses. Thankfully all is well now and their cat is back inside where he belongs but you can watch the hilarious moment of realization below.
Ayo Edebiri has already won a Golden Globe, a Critics Choice Award, and an Emmy this year alone, and it’s only the beginning of January (somehow). But her most important role of the last two years has been her dedication to portraying an Irish citizen, also known as Ayo Edebiri.
Edebiri took home an Emmy last night for her role on The Bear, but she had to shout out to her “people” before the ceremony, and that’s the great nation of Ireland. If you are confused, then 1) Welcome to the internet! and 2) Edebiri is not from Ireland, but she has been having a lot of fun continuing the bit, especially on the red carpet.
“Shout out to my people!” Edebiri said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet. “Shout out to Derry! Shout out to Cork! Shout out to Killarney! Shout out to Dublin!” she added, covering all her bases. It seems that the more she denies being from Ireland, the more the people believe her, which is a fun problem to have.
Even though she has love for Ireland, Edebiri grew up in Boston, but she stands by her commitment to the Irish people. She left Twitter in 2023, but the actress confirmed that she is aware of the Irish-related memes. “I’m aware, generally, of my connection to Ireland. I’m aware,” she told ET. Cillian Murphy has yet to be reached for comment.

The Night Agent was not only an instant hit for Netflix, but it also kept cranking for months. Now, the show sits in this sixth spot of the streamer’s all-time popular English-speaking shows TV shows, and even though Netflix has slowed its pace of series renewals, The Night Agent broke that newfound rule with a swift greenlighting — in less than two weeks from initial release, instead of waiting at least 28 days like it usually does. As such, the Gabriel Basso-starring series now sits among the lofty ranks of other streaming standouts like Wednesday and DAHMER: Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.
Those latter two shows were released as hopeful hits with more upfront PR wizardry, but they accomplished their viewership expectations mightily. Still, it’s arguably more satisfying to see a series come out of nearly nowhere and without A-list stars but be worth repeat viewings as merely a good, old-fashioned bingeworthy series. A slew of new actors have been revealed for the show, so what can we expect from Season 2?
Plot
Lovers of Amazon Prime’s Jack Ryan will especially love this show that proves how new twists on espionage-filled lives never get old for the TV audience. As viewers know, The Night Agent is based upon Matthew Quirk’s bestselling book, and Basso stars as Peter Sutherland, the night-shift FBI agent who usually didn’t get to see much action. He basically hung out and answered a phone line for members of other government agencies who have problems that need solving. This Night Action Program, as it turns out, is an off-the-books subagency that is so secret, it might as well not exist.
Granted, this sub-agency — which helps the CIA and other federal agencies who find themselves stumped and in a bind with nowhere else to turn — probably doesn’t exist in real life either, but hey, you never know. People love to watch stories about shadowy government conspiracies and imagine that they might somehow contain a sliver of reality, and that’s likely a major reason that this show is so intriguing.
One evening, Peter’s world suddenly grew much more interesting, not to mention dangerous, when a tech CEO, Rose (Luciane Buchanan), put the call out (along with a secret code) after her relatives were murdered under mysterious circumstances. Naturally, not all was what it seemed, in or out of the agency, and Sutherland found foes at every turn. These enemies even included White House Chief of Staff Farr (Hong Chau) and U.S. Vice President Redfield (Christopher Shyer).
By the end of the first season, Peter has uncovered and halted an intricate terrorist/assassination scheme and has formally received the Night Agent designation. So, no more basement phone calls? Sure, but that doesn’t mean that his new role will be a breeze. Following the success of the first season, Gabriel Basso revealed to Collider that Peter will be an official Night Action member, but he will not suddenly be confident in his new gig:
“I think if there was a Season 2, his MO would almost shift completely because he’d now be a Night Agent. I’d have to talk to Shawn [Ryan] about what that mission would be. I’m sure it all depends on the context of where you’d see him next, but I’m sure his training would shift from, “I’m an FBI agent,” to killing people. Whatever he’s being asked to do, I’m sure the emphasis would shift and the goal would shift, significantly. He’d probably feel a little out of his depth again.
Netflix is being very tightlipped about what this new goal set will include for Peter (Warning: Farr is still out there), but before the show’s renewal, creator Shawn Ryan told Collider that a second season presents a whole new world:
“In a Season 2, if we do one, I think it would be a whole new location with a whole new set of problems, and a small number of characters from Season 1 would be part of that, but mostly new characters would be surrounding them. And then, that would tell a one-season story.”
Clear as mud? For sure, but the wheels are turning for more bingeworthy intrigue coming from Netflix.
Cast
Variety reported that Season 2 will include an array of new actors, including Power Book II: Ghost‘s Berto Colon as an ex-Marine and current high-powered fixer named Solomon. Pitch Perfect‘s Brittany Snow will join the cast as Peter’s more experienced partner in the realm of Night Action. Louis Herthum will play Solomon’s high-rolling, globally powerful boss, Jacob Monroe. Arienne Mandi will portray a U.N. aid named Noor, whose top-secret access might not be used for on-the-job purposes, if you catch the drift. And Teddy Sears will pick up the role of a high-level subject of a Night Action investigation, Warren.
Returning cast members will include Gabriel Basso, of course. Also expect to see Luciane Buchanan return as Rose (who will be pursuing her tech dreams, from the looks of where her story left off) along with other familiar faces including Amanda Warren, Eve Harlow, Phoenix Raei, Enrique Murciano, D. B. Woodside, Hong Chau, Fola Evans-Akingbola, and Sarah Desjardins.
Release Date
The show was originally fast tracked before The Hollywood chaos began, and writers/actors went on hiatus. However, Netflix will want to get this show out as soon as possible, so we can probably bet on a 2024 release with production kicking into high gear.

Indie music has grown to include so much. It’s not just music that is released on independent labels, but speaks to an aesthetic that deviates from the norm and follows its own weirdo heart. It can come in the form of rock music, pop, or folk. In a sense, it says as much about the people that are drawn to it as it does about the people that make it.

Infant Island – Obsidian Wreath
Infant Island is the musical equivalent of two glasses of cold brew injected straight into your veins. The Fredericksburg, Virginia, group are one of screamo’s most exciting bands right now, and, while their knack for an adrenaline rush remains as effective as ever, Obsidian Wreath is their most dynamic work yet. Infant Island’s fourth album and first for Jeremy Bolm’s label, Secret Voice, shifts on a dime from the quiet, Greet Death-featuring “Kindling” to the brutal blast beats of opener “Another Cycle.” It’s only January, but Obsidian Wreath will certainly be a contender for one of the best heavy records of 2024.
Naliah Hunter – Lovegaze
Harpist and composer Naliah Hunter excels at building alluring atmospheres. Take a song like “000,” whose electronic drums trail off in a reverb-soaked haze while Hunter’s voice glides in and out of frame, or the centerpiece “Lovegaze,” in which her diaphanous harp arpeggios give way to a hypnotic, halftime groove. Lovegaze, Hunter’s debut album, abounds with moments like these, ones that leave a tangible impact despite their gentle constructions. Across 10 tracks, Lovegaze engulfs you in its mesmerizing world from start to finish.
Waxahatchee – “Right Back To It”
You wouldn’t think a songwriter as talented as Katie Crutchfield would wait so long to write her first love song, but she did. “Right Back To It,” the lead single from her forthcoming album, Tigers Blood, exudes the warmth and intimacy that her music as Waxahatchee always has, whether it’s the grittiness of 2013’s Cerulean Salt or the twang of 2020’s Saint Cloud. In-demand guitarist MJ Lenderman backs Crutchfield with his soothing timbre, conjuring the timelessly classic country duet, and Phil Cook provides a plucky, banjo-led backdrop. It’s a gorgeous introduction to a new era of Waxahatchee, one where the love songs ring as heartfelt and winsome as they ever could.
Jamie xx – “It’s So Good”
It has nearly been a decade since Jamie xx dropped his sole solo album, the electronic masterpiece In Colour. In the meantime, he has released occasional singles, like “Let’s Do It Again,” “Kill Dem,” and “Idontknow,” with no hints at another full-length. Fortunately, they’ve all been utterly incredible, as is the case with his latest offering, “It’s So Good.” Released in conjunction with the new Chanel Coco Crush campaign, “It’s So Good” pushes and pulls with its four-on-the-floor house beat and squeaky, metallic synths. Jamie xx knew what he was doing when he named this track; it really is so good.
The Smile – “Friend Of A Friend”
We are just over a week away from Wall Of Eyes, the sophomore album from The Smile. Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood seem perfectly content putting Radiohead on hold for the time being and dedicating their creative focus to this project instead. Alongside former Sons Of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner, the trio have shared the latest preview of their upcoming record, “Friend Of A Friend.” Its swaying, jazzy pulse evokes the uneasiness of “Pyramid Song” but without the proggy feel. Simply put, it’s wonderful to hear Yorke and Greenwood making music without the burden of a New Radiohead tag.
Rosali – “Rewind”
North Carolina has slowly become one of indie rock’s most prominent hotbeds, home to artists like Wednesday, Indigo De Souza, and Helado Negro, to name a few. Add Rosali to that burgeoning list, a recent Merge Records signee who’s on the cusp of releasing her new album, Bite Down. Rosali Middleman fuses alt-country and folk to create a style that feels equally twangy and gentle, as exemplified on lead single “Rewind.” It’s a gorgeous tune that underlines the beauty found within simplicity, how you’d be willing to relive the past as long as it leads you to present-day happiness. With backing musicians like David Nance and Destroyer’s Ted Bois (plus a glowing endorsement from Dan Bejar himself), Rosali is one of indie’s brightest rising stars.
Faye Webster – “Lego Ring”
On the surface, Faye Webster and Lil Yachty sound like an odd pairing. But then you dig deeper; there’s the Atlanta connection, they’ve been friends since they were both in middle school together, and their voices work remarkably well with each other’s. On “Lego Ring,” from Webster’s upcoming album, Underdressed At The Symphony, Yachty’s warbling, Auto-Tuned vocals evoke the unsteady tremolo of a Wurlitzer. He adds an otherworldly dreaminess to Webster’s equally gauzy strain of indie rock, one in which tragedy and comedy get equal billing. Since 2021’s I Know I’m Funny Haha, Webster has undergone a major breakthrough both in terms of her TikTok popularity (even surpassing Boygenius in monthly Spotify listeners) and indie stardom. Still, she doesn’t appeal to the masses on her new single. Instead, she digs her heels in and sings about Legos.
MGMT – “Nothing To Declare”
Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser are officially three for three. Every single leading up to next month’s Loss Of Life, the fifth album from MGMT, has been great, including its latest, “Nothing To Declare.” Its finger-picked, folky aura is a far cry from the synth-heavy Little Dark Age, but that’s no surprise given the psych-rock leanings of the previous two singles. “Nothing To Declare” shows that the duo is just as adept at cinematic indie-pop as they are at ‘60s-indebted esoterica.
Fat Dog – “All The Same”
When your first single is a shapeshifting, seven-minute epic, there’s no doubt that you’re taking a big risk. Nevertheless, Fat Dog put out the chameleonic post-punk opus, “King Of The Slugs,” last August, and that risk paid off handsomely. After accumulating hype opening up for Yard Act, Viagra Boys, and Shame, the UK duo’s following up on that excitement with “All The Same,” a dizzying, industrial synth-punk tune that condenses the aggression and grit outlined in “King Of The Slugs” into just a few minutes. Even with two songs to their name, these recent Domino signees are here to prove that they’re no flash in the pan.
Helado Negro – “Best For You And Me”
Phasor, the new album from Roberto Carlos Lange, is just a few weeks away now. But Lange has given us one more taste ahead of its release, the delightfully groovy “Best For You And Me.” Its woozy synths and laid-back percussion perfectly complement Lange’s soothing vocal delivery. Needless to say, Helado Negro’s latest single is nothing short of spellbinding.
