If there was one thing a viewer should take away from the 1990 film Ghost, it should be that pottery making is actually very hard and not for everyone. It might look easy and at some points “romantic” but that’s because you don’t see the clean-up process or that hefty studio bill. Kilns are expensive!! But that doesn’t matter when you’re a ghost.
Demi Moore, who starred as a human in Ghost, recently revealed that she has some of her pottery works from the cult classic film. Moore appeared on The Drew Barrymore Showand gushed about meeting Swayze for the first time, right before filming the infamous scene. “Well the first thing that just popped into my head was meeting Patrick Swayze for the first time going, ‘Oh you know trying to figure out his thing,’” Moore said, referring to the pottery wheel scene. See, it’s not an easy hobby.
Moore continued, “And then he took his shirt off and I was like, ‘Oh got it. Get on behind me,’” she joked before revealing that she has some of the little projects she worked on, “I still have my little pots that I made, which are pitiful. They’re like the saddest looking things.” Not as sad as Ghost is, probably, but still sad.
Even though she isn’t proud of her pottery (again, this is a very hard hobby), Moore is fond of the film. Just last year, she told Howard Stern that she was sure the film would be a flop. It wasn’t. “Reading it on paper with these three components, like I thought this is either going to be amazing or an absolute disaster,” she admitted while appearing on the Howard Stern Show. “It’s a comedy, a thriller, and a romance. Like how are they gonna pull that off?” Somehow, they pulled it off enough for Moore to have her own little keepsake from the film, which is allegedly pitiful.
Arnold Schwarzenegger will make an appearance at this year’s Super Bowl thanks to a State Farm commercial starring the Terminator star. However, before Arnold would agree to the big game spot, he had one demand: Jake from State Farm needed to get ripped.
OK, ripped might be a strong word, but Schwarzenegger told PEOPLE that he was adamant about pushing actor Kevin Miles, who plays the Jake character, into toning his bod for the action-packed commercial:
“Well, we worked out together. I had to get him in shape for this because when I heard that he has 10% body fat, that was unacceptable,” Schwarzenegger tells PEOPLE of spending time with Miles. “So I said to him, I said, ‘By the time we do the commercial, you have to have 8% body fat.’ And so he really whipped himself in great shape and he was a lot of fun to work with. He’s a really funny guy and he’s of course a great actor. So it was fun.”
State Farm dropped a teaser for Arnold’s Super Bowl commercial on Tuesday, and it definitely has fun with the actor’s signature accent. Turns out, it’s not so easy for Arnold to pronounce the word “neighbor,” which is a pretty key part of the company’s slogan. While Arnold was game to make fun of himself, he also pushed for the Super Bowl spot to not skimp on the action.
“Let’s do kind of like a movie, make it big,” Schwarzenegger told PEOPLE. “And so it’s kind of using all of my things that I’m known for – it’s the action movies, it’s the accents, it’s the comedy.”
There’s a little mystery to each batch’s release, and that helps make it fun. Very quickly, each batch comes with a code so that you know what you’re getting. You’ll see a batch number, like “A124” or “B922” or “C523”, on a bottle. The letter — “A”, “B”, or “C” — denotes the release of the year with “A” being the first and “C” being the last. The next number — “1”, “5”, or “9” — tells you the month the whiskey was released during the year — “January”, “May”, or “September.” Lastly, the two-digit number at the end is the year. So, if it ends in “22”, it was released in 2022 — and so on.
The uniqueness of these releases depends on what’s actually in the batch. The age ranges anywhere from 10 to 13 years old as a minimum. That means that there are potentially older barrels in the batches but not younger ones. Because of the ranges in age, the flavor profile of these releases can also vary pretty wildly. The team at Heaven Hill tends to have fun with these releases by offering something truly different with each batch. Some will be nutty and woody. Others will be cherry spice bombs. While some others will be ABV monsters with a deep numbing burn followed by florals, fruit, and tobacco.
Because of all the variation, you have whiskey aficionados clamoring to get all three releases every year to taste them side by side, and then side by side with previous years’ releases… It’s a whole thing.
Below, I’m going to break down what we know so far about the 2024 trio of releases. Luckily, A124 has already hit shelves. So I’ll be giving you my tasting notes on that one. It’s a winner, folks. The other two releases have only been whispered about so far. So I’ll just lay down what’s known.
2024’s first Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is a unique one. The batch is made from barrels that averaged out to 10 years and nine months old, which is on the young side for these releases. Moreover, the ABVs are much lower than usual as well, coming in under 60%.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Rich salted caramel, apple fritters, cherry pie, winter spice, old leather tobacco pouches, and deep oakiness drive the nose with a touch of rye bread crust and nutty … I want to say granola covered in dark chocolate.
Palate: The sweetness really gets buttery on the palate with rich toffee and salted caramel ice cream next to creamy cinnamon chews, vanilla malt, dark and smooth chocolate sauce, and a counterpoint of sharp oak spices with a touch of old spicy tobacco.
Finish: That tobacco and oaky spice sharpen on the finish before the creamy caramel, vanilla, and chocolate base returns for a soft and lush end.
Bottom Line:
This is a great and classic Kentucky sipping bourbon. You’ll probably want to pour it over a big ice cube to enjoy the subtler notes. But … this is a pretty low-proof for a high-proof from this brand. So try it neat first and then take your time digging in. Once you’ve done all of that, throw this into an old fashioned. It’ll sing.

Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
Trae Young was the most prominent of those, as he’s averaging 27.3 points and 10.9 assists per game, but was left off of the roster by the coaches in a crowded Eastern Conference backcourt race. Young has gotten support from LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and others for his candidacy as an injury replacement in the last week, and with Joel Embiid and Julius Randle both sidelined through the All-Star break, he was expected to get the call to go to Indy and represent the East.
The bigger question was who would be the second replacement, as there were plenty who felt the Celtics deserved a third All-Star, either Kristaps Porzingis or Derrick White, but Adam Silver ultimately decided on the Raptors young star Scottie Barnes as the second replacement alongside Young.
Toronto’s Scottie Barnes and Atlanta’s Trae Young have been named by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver as injury replacements on the Eastern Conference team for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game.

Along with Porzingis and White, Cleveland’s run over the last month to the two-seed in the East led some to believe Jarrett Allen was worthy of a selection, but the commissioner chose to roll with two young stars having terrific seasons on sub-.500 teams instead. Barnes is averaging 20.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game for the Raptors, who have chosen to build around him by finally tearing down their old foundation ahead of the deadline.
With Squid Game Season 2 getting closer to making its Netflix arrival, the streamer has revealed that the cast for the highly-anticipated new season has gotten much larger.
Centered on a deadly competition that sees contestants literally risk their lives for a massive cash prize, Squid Game was a massive hit for Netflix when it debuted in September 2021. The show became such a global phenomenon that internet servers struggled to keep up with the demand. Now, it’s finally coming back at some point in 2024.
While Netflix has not yet confirmed an exact release date, it has revealed the expanded cast for Squid Game Season 2.
New cast members include Yim Si-wan (“The Attorney,” “Emergency Declaration”), Kang Ha-neul (“Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet”), Park Gyu-young (“Attack the Gas Station”), Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim (“Kim Ji-young: Born 1982”), Lee David (“The Terror Live”), Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yuri, and Won Ji.
Plot details for Squid Game Season 2 are also being kept tightly under wraps, but Netflix has offered a cryptic about what’s in store for Lee Jung-jae’s character. The Season 2 plot will reportedly “follow Gi-hun as he abandons his plans to go to the U.S. and starts a chase with a motive.”
Squid Game Season 2 will arrive on Netflix sometime in 2024.
Runaway streaming hit The Night Agent will return for a second season sometime in 2024, which is at least more precise than what the rumored Jack Ryan spinoff has publicized so far. For the Netflix series, however, we can expect star Gabriel Basso to return as the newly Night-Agent-ed Peter Sutherland along with Rose (Luciane Buchanan), who will be digging further into her tech game.
The series is based upon Matthew Quirk’s bestselling book, but the next era is anything but clear cut in terms of story. We do know that Peter is no longer relegated to taking phone calls in a Washington, D.C. basement (or hopping into action above ground in the same city), so where will the newest round of action take place? Previously, creator Shawn Ryan let Collider know that a change of scenery is definitely afoot, and now, Deadline has confirmed where filming is happening: largely in NYC with a few other stops:
Filming has begun on the second season of Netflix‘s hit thriller drama, with the streamer’s start-of-production announcement unveiling that shooting of the new season will take place primarily in New York City with additional filming in Thailand and Washington D.C.
Thus far, a plot synopsis has not surfaced for this season (which will now include Berto Colon, Brittany Snow, Louis Herthum, Arienne Mandi, Teddy Sears within the cast), but Basso previously hinted that everything has changed for Peter now that his job description has shifted. So, this new venue checks out, and we will await further news on a release date.
Mannequin Pussy dropped their new single, “Nothing Like,” today — and treated fans to a new batch of tour dates for Europe. The song opens with dreamy vocals and a hypnotic drum beat. Then, in the first chorus, the instrumental shifts, embracing the rock vibes. As it turns out, the shifting psychedelic nature is what they were going for.
“Originally inspired by a stoned-out night 6 years ago spent watching an episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer in which Buffy is forced to kill her lover, Angel, before he destroys the world,” the band’s lead singer, Marisa Dabice, shared in a statement. “The song existed in fragments until it finally met its final form last year.”
Tickets for the band’s European leg will be part of their I Got Heaven Tour, titled after their new album which drops in March. More information, including on additional North American shows, can be found here.
Check out “Nothing Like” above. Below, find the band’s full list of European stops.

Kung Fu Panda has been a beloved franchise since its first installment in 2008. There’s a reason it’s one of Dreamworks’ most beloved films, and that’s because it has cute animals and there is no sign of a tiny baby wearing a suit, which can be off-putting to some.
The film series follows a fluffy yet clumsy panda named Po who learns to harness his potential as a martial arts master. Kung Fu Panda 2 and Kung Fu Panda 3 were released in 2011 and 2016 respectively, and now it’s time for some more panda punches.
The fourth film in the franchise was announced in the summer of 2022, and it was confirmed the original gang would be back for some more shenanigans, including Jack Black as Po, the main panda himself, along with some new voices. Even though the Kung Fu universe has expanded into three TV shows, four short films, and a handful of specials, this will be the first time the gang has reunited on the big screen since 2016. Here is everything you need to know about Kung Fu Panda 4.
Plot
After the events of the third film, Po is gearing up to become the spiritual leader of his Valley of Peace, aka he wants to retire from all this fighting nonsense. To do so, that means he needs someone to take his place as Dragon Warrior, so plans to train a new kung fu apprentice who will take his spot.
However, things can never be easy, and Po encounters a mysterious new shapeshifting bad guy called The Chameleon who conjures villains from the past to harness their powers and bring Po down.
Director Mike Mitchell stated that the film is a “love letter” to the first film in the franchise. He also revealed that past Kung Fu masters Tigress, Monkey, Crane, Mantis, and Viper, known collectively as the “Furious Five” will make appearances in the film and that they are “off on their own individual missions.”
Cast
The fourth installment brings back Black as Poe, the world’s favorite SKADOOSH-ing panda, in addition to some new voices, including Viola Davis. Davis will portray a new shape-shifting chameleon who is bound to have some tricks up her scaley sleeves. Comedian Awkwafina will portray Zhen, a new fox character in the Kung Fu Panda universe.
The fun doesn’t stop there: The stacked cast also includes Jackie Chan, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, Ke Huy Quan, Dustin Hoffman, Bryan Cranston, James Hong, and Ian McShane.
Having children can present challenges that you may not always think about until it presents itself. Parents spend time preparing for a baby by baby proofing the house to make sure there’s nothing dangerous that a newly exploring baby could get into. But when they become toddlers the focus shifts slightly to making the home more accessible to their little curious minds.
One mom decided that she would create a “Montessori-inspired” living space for her home to cater to her daughter’s development. Roxan posted a video on social media showing how her home is set up with smaller versions of things in order to make sure her toddler can reach them. Cereal dispensers are on a small shelf that comes to the toddler’s hip. There’s tiny sink and soap dispenser so she can wash her hands and brush her teeth. Even the coat rack is down on the little girl’s level.
The caption on the video reads in part, “Setting up a Montessori-inspired spaces at home helps your child learn and do things independently. Creating a special spot in a closet or drawer with reachable items allows them to practice everyday tasks by themselves. These prepared spaces not only promote independence but also boost confidence, making your child feel valued and included. Everything at Kalia’s height and everything in its own place ensures easy access to all her needs.Encouraging age-appropriate tasks fosters important life skills. Children thrive when they can do things on their own.”
Parents in the comments were impressed with Roxan’s system but expressed how expensive it looks to be. The mom pointed out that these are things you can do without going out and buying expensive play kitchens to convert.
“No need for extra furniture. Get creative with what you have, like using stools to reach the bathroom sink or placing utensils and snacks in lower cabinets. Simple adjustments can go a long way in making your home more accessible for your child,” Roxan explains to another mom.
But for those who think this is extremely expensive to do, while the mom doesn’t point it out, she has most of the items linked in her bio and people may be surprised at how affordable most of the things are. If you’re curious at how a Montessori-inspired house could work, check out the video below.
