Future And Metro Boomin Confirmed Their Two Joint Albums With ‘We Don’t Trust You’ Arriving This Month

Future and Metro Boomin previously teased that they would have a joint album on the way. Now, the two rappers have officially announced that they are going to have two new ones in store for fans.

The duo’s first album in the series is titled We Don’t Trust You and will drop later this month on March 22. The second, which is currently still untitled, arrives shortly after that on Friday, April 12.

To build even more anticipation for the two records, Future and Metro Boomin released a trailer. In it, they drive through the desert in luxurious white cars, while a voice (reportedly Prodigy) narrates saying there are “a lot of garbage-ass f*cking rappers out here running around” and that “this game is meant for a select few.” There’s also a light piano that plays under the voiceover, which could very well be an instrumental from one of their upcoming songs.

While this will mark their first full joint album, as long as the second, it is far from their first time working together. Metro Boomin produced for Future’s songs including “Mask Off,” while the latter joined Metro’s Heroes & Villains album in 2022 for more collabs.

Check out Future and Metro Boomin’s trailer for their upcoming albums above.

We Don’t Trust You is out 3/22. Find more information here.

Conan Gray Is Sorting Through The Emotions Of A Relationship’s Downfall With His Latest Song ‘Alley Rose’

Just a few days after Conan Gray announced his Found Heaven On Tour in support of his upcoming album, he shared another song from it. “Alley Rose” has been described by Gray as his favorite song from the record, as he wrote it in London about a relationship that was coming to an end.

“And I don’t even care if it’s just a summer fling / If it’s all experimental and you go back to safer things,” Gray describes as he wades through the pain on the vulnerable ballad. “But I swore hands were made for fighting / I swore eyes were made to cry / But you’re the first person that I’ve seen / Who’s proven that might be a lie.”

“The whole song is just like, ‘What the f*ck? Where did you go?’” Gray shared in a recent interview with It’s Out (via Genius). This follows his previous singles from the album, including “Lonely Dancers” and more.

Fans will get to hear Gray’s new music when his upcoming tour kicks off in June in Australia, followed by shows in North America and Europe. More information, along with a complete list of dates, can be found here.

Mezcalita
UPROXX/Merle Cooper

The weather is heating up and that means it’s time for margarita season to kick into high gear. It’s also time for Spring Breeeeeakkkkk and SXSW in Austin. The latter is why we’re here today, with an amazing cocktail that’s going to be your go-to for the rest of the season — the Mezcalita.

On March 13th and 14th this year, UPROXX is teaming up with PaulSellsTX and Just Blaze to bring The Takeover to SXSW week (get tickets here). We’ve also teamed up with Mezcal Los Siete Misterios for an amazing pop-up cocktail experience that you can enjoy on both days of the event series.

Below, I’m going to give you a sneak peek of the Mezcal Los Siete Misterios Mezcalita. It’s a delightfully delicious take on a classic margarita so let’s dive right in!

Mezcalita

Honey Hop Cocktail
Zach Johnston

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz. Los Siete Misterios Doba-Yej Mezcal
  • 0.75 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz. Cointreau
  • 0.5 oz. agave syrup
  • Ice
  • Coarse salt
  • Extra limes

If you are making this at home, the key ingredient to source is the mezcal. Thankfully, this is a widely available and delicious mezcal that clocks in at around $40. The rest is pretty easy to get at any liquor store or grocery store.

A quick tip on the agave syrup. You’ll want to use actual syrup and not just raw agave. So mix it with hot water — 2 parts agave to 1 part hot water — and stir. It’s really that easy to make.

What You’ll Need:

  • Rocks glass
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Cocktail strainer
  • Jigger
  • Hand juicer
  • Paring knife

Method:

  • Add the mezcal, lime juice, and agave syrup to the cocktail shaker. Add a large handful of ice and affix the lid. Shake the cocktail shaker vigorously for about 10 to 15 seconds.
  • Wet the rim of the rocks glass and roll in salt. Add fresh ice to the glass and then strain the cocktail into the glass. Garnish with a lime wheel and serve.

Bottom Line:

This is a fantastic take on a classic margarita. The mezcal adds this lush earthy vibe that elevates the whole concept. The agave also adds a little sweet earthiness that just adds more depth. The lime is bright and the salt is the perfect counterpoint. This is a winner, folks!

Hopefully, we’ll see you at SXSW this year with one of these in your hand!

Tickets for the Open House and Soul In The Horn takeover are on sale now, with proceeds for the event going directly to charity.

Mother of four shares why she showers with her kids, sparking a debate among parents

Seems like few things take up more debates than showers these days. When to do it, how often to do it, which snacks are best while doing it (yes, that last one is real).

But when you add parenting into the mix, there’s even more potential for controversy.

Take for instance, Australia-based mom of four, Bronte Towns, who recently went viral after sharing why she showers with her children, all of whom are under seven years old.

In her video’s caption, Towns explained that she was a proponent of family showering because it’s a “natural way” to teach her kids about their own bodies, as well as “bodily autonomy, personal boundaries & consent.”

For one thing, Towns says that the “safe environment” of the shared shower invites her children to ask “innocent, curious questions” they might not otherwise feel comfortable asking.

“So many questions pop up naturally when you shower together. We normalize open conversations in the shower, there’s no silly questions, nothing too awkward to ask, etc.,” she wrote.

Plus, it gives her the opportunity to “role model & monitor body hygiene practices,” along with offering a view of a normal, everyday body, rather than the “stigmatised version most of our kids see all over advertising or online,” she added.

Though Town never specified which of her children she shared showers with (a seemingly intentional move, as it was also written in her caption), some viewers shared concerns over whether or not this was age appropriate behavior, especially for her eldest son.

“Your son is way too old to be seeing you naked,” one viewer wrote.

Others seem to take umbrage with Town’s opinion, regardless of which kid she may or may not be showering with.

“Nope…totally inappropriate.”

“You can have literally all these conversations without taking a shower with your kids.”

“I’m sorry but this is very strange once the child is past the age of like 3 or 4.”

“Some things are just meant to be private. No one, and I mean NO ONE outside the walls of your home needed to know this. The amount of oversharing is insane & inappropriate.”

“I’m so glad I never saw my mom naked 🤮 that would have made for a very awkward disturbing relationship. I would never ever ever want to see either of my parents naked, nor would I want my 2 daughters to see me naked. Please don’t normalize this.”

Still, others found this completely normal. Healthy, even. One person commented, “I showered with my mom growing up and was often in the same room as she changed up until I was a teen, I never had the thought of it being ‘weird’ or ‘gross’ until I saw post like these with people being judgmental in the comments, it’s so normal! and knowing what cellulite, stretch marks and sagging skin looked like at a young age made me feel so much more comfortable in my body when I started to see these things. Mom had this and she’s still beautiful and so am I!”

Another added, “My daughter is almost two and takes a shower with Dad almost every night since she was a newborn. Gives mom a break and it’s a great bonding experience. When will we stop? When our daughter wants to.”

It’s worth noting that attitudes about nudity differ among cultures. For example, it’s completely customary in Finland for families to go to the sauna together, naked. For many Finnish families, it’s a Christmas Eve tradition. In Germany, there are not only nude beaches, but nude, or “naturist,” parks. Even in Asia, where views about nudity tend to lean more conservative, Thailand has nude hotels. So it’s worth noting that being unable to separate nudity from sexuality is in some aspects purely an American characteristic, forged by centuries of puritanism.

But still, challenges of Western society aside, there are notable boundaries that parents should probably stick to. So what do the experts have to say about it?

In an interview with Fatherly, Dr. Richard Beyer, a licensed psychologist in Arcadia, California, said that the”general rule of thumb” would be when they reach school age, or around 5 or 6 years old.

Dr. Wendy Lane, a child abuse pediatrician at the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital, added that children will will most likely naturally transition, and, in the name of respecting boundaries parents “should always stop if the child asks to stop.” Basically, if they’re uncomfortable, don’t force them. Also a good general rule of thumb.

Parents may not all stand behind Towns’ relaxed rules around nudity, but it’s hard not to agree that teaching kids consent, autonomy and boundaries is important.

Woman who was poor but has a rich girlfriend explains why ‘rich people don’t say they’re rich’

One of the interesting quirks about wealth and class in America is that many people have a hard time determining their socioeconomic status accurately. A poll published by Business Insider found that some Americans earning less than $50,000 feel rich, while others earning more than $100,000 feel poor. Nearly half of Americans earning $100,000 or more identify as middle class.

The same poll found that only 13% of millionaires believe they are wealthy and 60% define themselves as middle class.

A TikTokker named Geneviève explained how this disconnect could happen by using her girlfriend as an example. Geneviève grew up in a low-income family and her girlfriend was raised by affluent parents, with a live-in nanny and a maid. However, the girlfriend always thought she was middle class.

Interestingly, she tells the story in a very non-judgmental way. She simply wants to understand why people’s perceptions of wealth can be so skewed.

“Here are some culture shocks that I had as someone who grew up poor who’s now living with someone who grew up with money,” Geneviève said. “Firstly, is the fact that rich people don’t consider themselves rich because they surround themselves with people who are much richer than them.”

@gen_laforce

do y’all have any rich people experiences? i’m curious✨ #richvspoor #cultureshock #grwm #relatable

“It’s amazing that she was able to live this life, but it made me realize that everything is relative. Because although per my standard that qualifies as rich, she was by far not the richest person at her school, in her neighborhood, in her group of friends,” Geneviève said.

“So to her, she was actually middle class because she had never really come into contact with people who were properly poor, or even properly middle class,” she continued. “She had only ever really been exposed to people within her own community who were well-off until she went to college.”

Geneviève’s story is an interesting lesson on how we see ourselves and that, in the end, there’s always going to be someone richer than you and always someone who has less. The key is that if you’re genuinely grateful for what you have, you can feel like a king, regardless of what’s in your bank account. But if you’re rich and ungrateful, you’ll never have enough.

Anthony Joshua Knocked Out Francis Ngannou In The Second Round With A Huge Right Hook

anthony joshua francis ngannou
DAZN

Two of the top heavyweights in the world stepped into the ring on Friday. Anthony Joshua, the decorated boxer and former heavyweight champion of the world, took on Francis Ngannou, the former UFC heavyweight champion who has started to break into the world of boxing following the expiration of his contract with the MMA promotion.

The fight took place in Saudi Arabia, and while it ended up not taking especially long to crown a winner, at least those in attendance got to witness some fireworks at the very end. After dominating the first round and knocking Ngannou down as it came to an end, Joshua came out in the second and decided to end the night early. He knocked Ngannou down with a big right hand, and while he was able to get up, Ngannou was clearly a bit woozy. Joshua took advantage, as he threw one gigantic right hand that knocked Ngannou out cold and secured a win.

Prior to this fight, no one had ever knocked out Ngannou in the UFC or in the world of boxing. While Ngannou had 20 fights in the UFC and left the promotion as its heavyweight champ, this was only his second boxing match — he lost via split decision to Tyson Fury in October.

As for Joshua, this marks his fourth win in a row after he lost back-to-back fights against Oleksandr Usyk. The first cost him the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles, while the second put all five of those and the vacant The Ring titles on the line.

FLO — “Walk Like This”

Trevor Jackson — Heads Up

Four his first project since 2022’s Show Me Diamonds, Trevor Jackson returns with another 4-track EP thanks to Heads Up. The project brings Trevor back into the world of R&B with each song detailing a unique experience in love. It also delivers a pair of features from Malaika Terry and Parris LaDame.

Fridayy — “Without You”

Known for his powerful and heartfelt releases, Fridayy delivers another one with his latest single “Without You.” The sentimental record is one dedicated to the singer’s late father as Fridayy reflects on their last moments and picks up the pieces to move forward. The record is also one written for those who have dealt with the loss of a loved one.

Sinead Harnett — “The Most”

The road towards Sinead Harnett’s upcoming album Boundaries continues with her latest single “The Most.” On it, Harnett voices her frustrations with a partner who continues to do wrong despite their promises to improve and do better. The song also arrives with the promise of an official date for Boundaries coming soon.

Chase Shakur — The Stunt-Man Pack

After thriving in 2023 with It’s Not You, It’s Me, Atlanta-born singer Chase Shakur steps into his 2024 campaign with a two-pack for his growing fan base. The Stunt-Man Pack delivers the uptempo”Yolanda” and the sultry “Options” as new releases to join his impressive catalog. “I wanted to put two tracks together that felt different, but that a lot of people could relate to,” Shakur said about the songs.

Lekan — “614”

Nigerian-American singer Lekan blends the worlds of soul and trap R&B like few can and his latest single “614” proves that to be the case. The record begins as a soft, soul-leaning effort that’s nostalgic and warm before transforming into a bass-knocking effort that wakes up the room. It’s the duality you love to see in artists and Lekan does it well here. “This song is a slight introduction into my world and where I’m from, Lekan says in a press release. “I’m expressing the mentality I had to have within the place I grew up – hopeful and bright to dark and reflective.”

Tank — “Before We Get Started” Feat. Fabolous

Tank ended 2023 with his single “Willing” and now he’s back in 2024 with a new record. “Before We Get Started” arrives with a feature from Fabolous as both artists speak about the moment they decide to approach a woman who’s caught their attention. They acknowledge her hesitations about this love while promising to make it worthwhile.

Allyn — “Flood” Feat. BlueBucksClan

Sacramento singer Allyn has a fly bounce in her step on her new single “Flood” with BlueBucksClan. The record celebrates a successful life and the benefits that come with it, one being the ability to hit the strip club and flood the floor with money. “Flood” is surely a record you’ll want in your arsenal for the upcoming summer months.

Sango — “Show” Feat. Rochelle Jordan

With North Vol. 2 on the way, Sango teams up with Rochelle Jordan for their new single “Show.” The record is a promising taste of Sango’s upcoming album which will be his first since 2018’s In The Comfort Of, home of personal Sango-favorite, “Khlorine” with Smino. “Show” also follows “Masego’s Interlude” which is set to appear on North Vol. 2.

Devvon Terrell — “Call My Ex”

After ending 2023 with Weird Nights 2, Devvon Terrell has yet to take his foot off the gas, kicking off 2024 with three records. Following “Wasting You 20s” and “Simple Girls,” Terrell is back with “Call My Ex.” The record offers a simple solution to Terrell’s current relationship issues: to call his ex where he experienced a more genuine love than he currently does.

Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
