Mustard Has The ‘Faith Of A Mustard Seed’ On His Upcoming Album, Which He Announced With A Beatific Trailer

In a recent Instagram Live stream, West Coast producer/multi-instrumentalist Terrace Martin expressed excitement for the new music coming from the region (particularly his native Los Angeles area), specifically citing Long Beach hitmaker Mustard’s upcoming album.

Mustard himself announced that album’s title and release window with a fittingly beatific trailer. It’s called Faith Of A Mustard Seed, and as befits any Mustard-related project, it’s slated for a summer 2024 release date. The title comes from the Christian Bible; the book of Matthew, chapter 17, verse 20 and 21, advises, “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to the mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move and nothing will be impossible for you.”

The verse specifically refers to faith in the Christian God, but could easily be interpreted to mean radical self-belief, as well. Mustard’s faith in himself has served him well over the past decade, resulting in hit records for seemingly half the rap business and a Grammy nomination alongside Roddy Ricch for “Ballin’.” It’s still paying off, too; despite being over a decade into his career, Mustard recently received his first-ever Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 thanks to Kendrick Lamar’s Drake-dissing “Not Like Us.”

The Rumored Cast Of Sam Mendes’ The Beatles’ Biopics Is A Who’s Who Of Talented Young Actors

The Beatles 1965

Once again, the rumor train has left the (shining time) station with some fun casting news that should be taken with a grain of salt, because we all know how fickle these tips can be.

According to Jeff Sneider’s newsletter, director Sam Mendes is eyeing an in-demand group of actors to star in his upcoming quartet of Beatles biopics.

The rumored casting will feature Paul Mescal (Aftersun) as Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan (Saltburn) as Ringo Starr, Charlie Rowe (Never Let Me Go) as George Harrison, and Harris Dickinson (The Iron Claw) as John Lennon. Sneider stressed that there is no confirmation just yet, but that didn’t stop him from sharing the tip!

Announced earlier this year, the four Beatles movies “will intersect to tell the astonishing story of the greatest band in history.” This will reportedly be the first time The Beatles “have granted full life story and music rights for a scripted film.”

Mendes confirmed the news back in February. “I’m honored to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies,” he said. This honor was not given to the most recent season of Doctor Who.

Since the cast has not yet been confirmed, this will give Keoghan time to perfect his vocal chops, which are basically nonexistent at the moment.

Moses Sumney Hones In On R&B Nostalgia In His New Video For ‘Vintage’

Moses Sumney has shared a new single, “Vintage.” On the fresh new track, Sumney takes it back to the days of crying in the rain and dancing in the dessert, as he yearns for a special woman, crooning and pleading for her return.

“Ready to ride / Ready for ball and chain / If I get that old thing back / Promise I won’t complain,” Sumney sings on the song’s chorus.

In the song’s accompanying video, Sumney calls it back to some of the iconic clips of the ’90s, as he dances his way through a mansion, before getting interrupted by rainfall. Nevertheless, he remains yearning for a special love.

“‘Vintage’ is me sliding into the music I probably listen to most these days – progressive R&B,” said Sumney in a statement. “I crafted the video as a callback to the 90s/2000s clips of my childhood, when men weren’t afraid to beg and plead. I am once again begging to join the pantheon of great yearners: K-Ci & Jojo, Omarion, Ray J, Jodeci, Jagged Edge. Desire has always been at the core of my work; now the desire has a little shimmering shimmy to it.”

The video for “Vintage” was shot with a special motion picture stock by Kodak, which has not yet been released, nor had it been used before.

You can watch the video for “Vintage” above.

‘The Night Agent’ Season 2: Everything To Know About The Leveling Up Of Netflix’s Addictive Spy Series (June 2024 Update)

The Night Agent
Netflix

The Night Agent proved that easy-on-the-eyes spies are not only an advantage for other streaming services and stellar cable networks but also Netflix. In fact, this Gabriel Basso-starring series is currently sitting comfy in the streamer’s Top 10 Series list of all time. It certainly helped this show’s appeal to toss an “everyman” type of government agent into a dull job before his life was transformed by a phone call that leads to adrenaline-laced intrigue around every corner. And there’s some Dad TV flavor in there, too.

As a result, Netflix hit the “renew” button pretty fast, which is a rare move from this streaming service these days. Let’s get down to business on where Basso’s Peter will go next — in an entirely different world.

Plot

As viewers already know, this show was initially based upon Matthew Quirk’s bestselling novel of the same name. However, a second season means that the series must move beyond — and hopefully in a more satisfying way than Game of Thrones did after exhausting GRRM’s A Song of Fire and Ice — the existing source material and into the great unknown.

Thankfully, Netflix and Basso and some fellow cast members have been dropping hints about the new season’s direction after Peter stopped being the D.C.-based phone dude and officially moved into the off-the-books subagency of the FBI. This means that he’ll be largely in New York City but elsewhere (Thailand’s so hot right now!), as he acquaints himself with the Night Action Program. Basso has suggested that Peter “feel a little out of his depth again” while learning his new job’s ropes, which could include killing people without blinking an eye. From the looks of a brief teaser clip, skyscrapers could figure prominently into the action. And will we see Luciane Buchanan’s Rose again? The actress confirmed her ongoing role and hopes that her character receives “a lot of therapy” and also pursues her tech dreams.

Additionally, White House Chief of Staff Farr (Hong Chau) will remain a threat, as Basso recently discussed with PEOPLE:

Basso teased some unfinished business with disgraced White House Chief of Staff Diane Farr (Hong Chau). Though she survived a gunshot wound in the season finale, it was unclear if she would face any repercussions.

“Due to his belief in due process, he’s not going to be bummed she’s alive,” the actor told Tudum. “But if Farr eludes justice, he’ll be a little more wary of [President] Travers. To be a traitor and not receive justice is not OK with Peter.”

Also expect new characters to pop into competing dynamics, as seen below.

Cast

Gabriel Basso will obviously be back. Luciane Buchanan will appear as Rose, who will likely be pursing her tech dreams. Also expect to see Hong Chau, but beyond that? Netflix has been quiet about who else is confirmed to return, so we shall see if Enrique Murciano, Amanda Warren, Eve Harlow, D. B. Woodside, Fola Evans-Akingbola, and Sarah Desjardins materialize, for real or in flashbacks.

For the second season, new actors include Brittany Snow as Peter’s seasoned Night Action partner. Berto Colon will portray a high-powered fixer and ex-Marine whose globally powerful boss will be portrayed by Louis Herthum. Other new co-stars include Arienne Mandi and Teddy Sears.

Release Date

The series dove back into production after the Hollywood strikes and will be putting the finishing touches on the season throughout the summer. As a result — and thankfully, this is not an effects-heavy show — we can expect more of The Night Agent before the end of 2024.

Justin Timberlake Made His ‘Forget Tomorrow’ Tour As Epic As It Deserved To Be Thanks To Silent House Group

It’s been said that monoculture is dead, but even as we are overwhelmed with microniches and hyperfocused marketing beamed directly into our faces by our ever-growing multitude of screens, there are still some people, some moments, that can bring us together as monoliths of pop culture.

No one defines the turn-of-the-millennium pop culture where monoliths still loomed large like Justin Timberlake, who is currently on the Forget Tomorrow world tour promoting his new album, Everything I Thought It Was. And when he needed a visual representation of his imposing legacy, he turned to Silent House Group, the production house that specializes in massive scale arena and festival concert production.

After previously detailing their work for Coachella headliners Tyler The Creator and Doja Cat, Uproxx interviewed Silent House CEO and Founder, Baz Halpin, about how the gigantic, yet stripped-down production for Timberlake’s tour came together. From cutting-edge tech out of a sci-fi film to happy accidents to the future of touring, the conversation was as expansive as Timberlake’s generation defining catalog.

Getty Image

Can you break down for me how you started the process and how close did the finished product come to the idea in progress?

Justin is incredibly knowledgeable as a director in his own right, I think, because of his work in film and theater and everything else. He’s way more hands-on and I wasn’t expecting that. So the first place he wanted to start was, before we get into the narrative and the why, he wanted to get up to speed with absolutely everything that you could do in 2024 with live production.

I was sitting in his living room saying, “Everything?” He goes, “I want you to go away and I want you to come back to me and show me everything that you can do in 2024. Show me what all the new tech is. Show me all the great ideas. Let’s push it. Let’s do something that’s never been done before.” So I went away and I put everything. I put 150 pages together in a document, videos, images, you name it. Everything from the lights that hadn’t even been manufactured yet, prototypes that we found some guy making in his garage, and video screens that you could put in a swimming pool or would roll out like a piece of rubber.

Oh, that’s cool.

And so we batted this around for a long time, and then we came up with this idea: Well, really, this wants to be a lot of things. This show wants to be a lot of things, but at the same time, it has to be a vehicle to showcase his unbelievable talent. There’s very few 360 entertainers like him that can sing, dance, play, entertain at that high level, and he’s the real deal.

So I wanted to be able to have this enormous stage with absolutely nothing on it. No equipment, no people, no nothing. You couldn’t see anything on it, and just have him in a spotlight, and for him to showcase that he was able to command this arena with 20,000 people in with absolutely nothing. To go from that to the most high-tech bells and whistles, the biggest thing you ever saw in your life. So we came up with this idea of the monolith and the monolith being a vehicle that would take us on this journey.

So we started from this tech place, engineering place. What’s possible moved into, how, visually, do we want to break down the show? Then, the third place was, well, we have this idea of a monolith could be a vehicle and could do all these things and could bring us from nothing to everything. We could give it a personality. We could give it its own theme that carried it through the show. So once we had that in our head as the direction we wanted to go, then we started to work on the set list. That’s when the narrative started to get put in.

Getty Image

Would it be giving away secrets if you told me what were some of the names that he name-checked, as far as inspirations for the show?

Obviously, [David] Fincher, who he talks a lot about… We reference the work of Denis Villeneuve, because stylistically, visually, that’s… These are very different, right? Very different visual approaches. I mean, he’s a cinephile for sure and a movie buff. When you can talk in the language, and you understand the tech, and you understand visual storytelling, then you can have really clear conversations.

So with him, because he is so hands-on, it made that process much, much clearer and like a director, when he makes a decision, he makes a decision from a place of information. He’s informed. So it took a lot of the scary sort of stress of, do we know what we’re getting ourselves in for? The process, it was structured. It was foundational. It left all the time for you to be creative, but understanding the world that you were living in.

Obviously, when you’re on the cutting edge, things do not work the way they’re supposed to or the way that you thought that they might. Were any of those challenges something that you even incorporated? I know sometimes, let’s say, the light turns blue, and it’s supposed to turn green, but then you’re like, oh, that actually looks cooler.

The happy accident on this was when the monolith tips over, and he leans off the edge.

So I had put a winch and I don’t know what it was. I knew that I wanted to have a performer-flying winch, and I sort of had these ideas. Maybe I’d have a dancer on it, and the dancer would be dancing on the video screen vertically and interact with it or something like that. When we got into rehearsals, we hadn’t sort of finalized how the show would end. So finding that moment with Justin in the performer-flying winch when it tipped over, and we saw that for the first time, we went, “Holy sh*t.” That is it. We didn’t think about that until rehearsals.

With your expertise and having worked with some of the best, where do you see the live touring space, and especially the Silent House aspect of it, what you guys do, where do you see that going in the near future?

I mean, I think there will be new types of places for sure, but concerts are in an increasingly isolated world where we’re all buried in computers and phones and work from home and all that stuff. And we do not have the community as humans that we had 30 years ago. These concerts, festivals, shows, those are… It’s concerts, live events and sporting events. I don’t think there’s anything else that brings people together in a community the way those things do, right? For better or worse.

And I think that it’s a fundamental human need to experience things as a community. So I think that no matter what happens in the world, that live music will keep getting more and more and more important. I think that artists will continue to push all the boundaries that they can, both creatively and logistically. And people want to go see these shows. There’s a hunger. Even in 2008, 2009 when we had the recession, the concert industry went from strength to strength. It’s where people go. It’s where people go when they’re happiest. It’s where people go when they’re bummed out. And music especially hits us in a way that is fundamental, and it can transport us back in time, and it can take us to places and spark memories that we’ve forgotten, so I don’t think you can phase that out. I don’t think it goes away. And as long as that need is there and that demand is there from audiences, and they want to go see, and artists want to create, then Silent House will always be there to support them.

‘M3GAN 2.0’: Everything To Know About The Nightmare Robot’s Upgrade Including Release Date, Cast, And More

M3gan
Universal

The initial plot of 2022’s M3GAN is pretty straightforward: a robotic doll becomes increasingly sentient and befriends a vulnerable tween before going on a murderous rampage. Seems pretty standard! But it became so much more.

What started as a standalone off horror flick became a cultural movement thanks to the toy doll and her impressive dance moves. Once producer Jason Blum saw the final cut, he knew a sequel had to happen.

“After I first saw the movie, we had a good sense that a sequel might really work,” Blum told Variety last year. “So, we broke our cardinal rule and we started talking about a sequel before the movie was released. I felt so bullish that we started entertaining a sequel earlier than we usually do.” The sequel was announced shortly after M3gan hit theaters in January 2022.

And now that sequel is in full swing! M3GAN 2.0 is currently in the works, so here is everything to know about the upcoming sequel. Start practicing your dance moves now.

Plot

While the plot is being kept under wraps, there are some clues as to where to story will go from here. For a refresh, here is the plot of the first installment:

M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a life-like doll programmed to be a child’s greatest companion and a parent’s greatest ally. Designed by brilliant toy-company roboticist Gemma (Get Out‘s Allison Williams), M3GAN can listen and watch and learn as she becomes friend and teacher, playmate, and protector for the child she is bonded to. When Gemma suddenly becomes the caretaker of her orphaned 8-year-old niece, Cady (Violet McGraw, The Haunting Of Hill House), Gemma’s unsure and unprepared to be a parent. Under intense pressure at work, Gemma decides to pair her M3GAN prototype with Cady in an attempt to resolve both problems — a decision that will have unimaginable consequences.

At the end of M3GAN, the doll is destroyed, but not before her AI processing system was transferred to a different device, meaning that M3gan can (and will) return in other forms. This is likely how the second installment will bring M3gan back, perhaps even in different robotic bodies. Or dolls! M3gan might be looking to get revenge on Gemma and Cady for abandoning her, or maybe they will have to team up and go against another killer doll. There are so many ways this can go.

Cast

Allison Williams will return as Gemma, a toy maker who gifted M3gan to her niece Cady after the death of her parents. Violet McGraw will also reprise her role of Cady. Ahsoka‘s Ivanna Sakhno is also attached to star in a currently undisclosed role.

Release Date

The movie is set to hit theaters on May 16th, 2025. Since it’s a Universal flick, it will likely land on Peacock after its theatrical release, just like the first installment.

Trailer

There is no trailer just yet, as production begins this summer. But here is M3gan’s calming rendition of Sia’s “Titanium” to calm you down while you wait.

Research shows that spicy foods may help you live longer

There’s an arms race happening at your local wing joint. According to QSR, it’s because Americans have strayed from eating traditional fare and are embracing spicier ethnic foods such as Mexican and Asian cuisine.

A 2013 Consumer Flavor Trend Report found that a majority of Americans (54 percent) prefer hot or spicy foods, including sauces, condiments, and dips, compared with 48 percent in 2011 and 46 percent in 2009. Now, a new report out of China shows that this new trend in American eating habits could prolong our life spans.

Researchers discovered the connection between spicy food and longevity after studying the results of a survey of 500,000 Chinese people taken from 2004 to 2008. The survey asked people about their dietary habits, including the amount of chili they consumed on a weekly basis. When researchers checked back in with respondents seven years later, those who consumed spicy foods once a week had a 10 percent lesser chance of death. And those who ate spicy foods three to seven times a week had a 14 percent lesser chance of death.

“We know something about the beneficial effects of spicy foods basically from animal studies and very small-sized human studies,” Lu Qi, associate professor at the Harvard School of Public Health, told Time. Studies have shown that capsaicin, the active ingredient in spicy foods, is linked to a lower risk of cancer as well as heart and respiratory diseases. It also has a positive effect on metabolism, weight, and gut bacteria.

“It appears that increasing your intake moderately, just to one to two or three to five times a week, shows a very similar protective effect,” Qi said. “Just increase moderately. That’s maybe enough.” So, if you want an extra dab of Tabasco on your tacos, go for it. But you might not want to eat a dozen fried, greasy buffalo wings every night—that will probably cancel out the positive effects of the chili.

Weird jobs most people don’t even know exist that can actually make good money

When people ask kids what they want to be when they grow up, some common career themes usually emerge—doctor, firefighter, teacher, artist, computer programmer, architect, pilot, journalist and the like. These jobs are familiar to everyone, and even if we don’t fully know the ins and out of what each job entails, we have a solid picture of what they do and why their job is important.

There are also less obvious jobs that we might not think of as dream careers but still know exist and are important, like mortician, plumber, garbage collector, truck driver or postal delivery person.

But there’s also a whole world of jobs that most people have never heard of or even imagined—and some of them even pay surprisingly well. Here’s a handful of weird jobs that people do without most of the world knowing.

Escort (but not that kind of escort)

The movies make much of “escorts” in our nation’s capital, but this is a different kind of escort that involves having security clearance and being physically present. That’s it.

“When you work as a government employee or contractor with a top secret clearance, after you retire or get laid off, you can work as an escort within classified facilities called SCIFs. Escorts are needed when an uncleared person needs to work in the SCIF. For example, it might be a top secret data center that needs an air conditioner repair. All the escort has to do is watch the repairman and stay with them throughout the visit. They usually just drag a chair over and sit there while getting paid damn good money.” – BaconReceptacle

“One of the most quietly-frustrating months of my life was doing hard labor on a government building site as a construction worker, going like ~80 hours a week, and realizing the annoying escort I had who was sitting around all day watching us was making a significant amount more than me.” – Few-Metal8010

Tasters and smellers

Some people get paid just to taste or smell things. Even pet food. (How does one get this job? Genuinely curious.)

“I used to be friends with one of Heineken’s official tasters. She literally drank every day for work. Don’t know how the pay was but she didn’t seem broke.” – curiousvegetables

“My sister in law is ‘the nose’ for yankee candle. When a vat of scented wax is ready, she sniffs it.” – Loreo1964

“My mom used to work for a sensory company that was outsourced by huge brands to do taste, smell, texture testing. Once many years ago I got in on a hot pocket panel because their target market was teens. I made $20 and got a free hot pocket. She made good money though!” – brownbostonterrier

woman hanging a piece of art

Professional picture hanger

Yep, the thing all of us do in our own homes for free (with varying levels of success) is an actual paid job for people in the art world. And some of them can make a pretty decent living at it.

“An old neighbor of mine was a picture hanging specialist contracted by many museums. He made 75K a year at the time (about 150K adjusted for inflation).” – Schwarzes__Loch

“A buddy of mine does this and makes great money. Most of the clients are rich people with private collections. They also pack and transport the artwork.” – frankyseven

Flavorists

On the other end of the food business are the magical chemists who create the yummy flavors we enjoy in candies and other treats.

“My dad was a master flavorist. He made artificial flavors for candy, beverages and lots of other things. He made a LOT of money during his career.” – Whoru87

“I’m an analytical chemist for a flavor company who (among other things) reverse engineers competitive flavors to give the flavor chemists insight lol.

Indeed they make bank.

Finding out how you can make a naturally derived ie citrus flavor taste the same every time when you have to source your extracts and oils from different places in the world, at different times of the year, while the stock might be a different age due to supply issues can be a lot more complex than one might think.” – die_lahn

“It is my absolute dream job to be a certified flavor chemist/flavorist. Used to work under a couple at a very niche company (could only make fruit/menthol flavors), and recently moved into food industry thinking I’d be able to gain more experience in savory applications. Unfortunately that has not been the case for me so far. Wish they had more flavor houses hiring in Norcal! Learning directly under an expert is the only way to do it.” – Successful-Ad5488

set of hobbiton from lord of the rings

Greensperson on film sets

There are actually a lot of jobs on film sets that people aren’t aware of, but taking care of plants on sets full time is certainly not on most people’s radar.

“I’m a greensperson in the film industry. I’m responsible for building and maintaining the plants and trees on a set.” – Prospector_Steve

“In general many people sleep on behind the scenes jobs in Hollywood. It’s a good way to make money and you get to meet celebrities.” – Immediate_Revenue_90

“A lot of filming locations are chosen based on the tax breaks the studio can get for filming there, and not on the ‘correct’ climate or biome. And sometimes, an outdoor scene will be shot on an indoor stage if an appropriate location can’t be found which is safe, accessible, meets the needs of the camera positioning, etc.

A film/TV production is a massive, expensive machine, and often small details have to be sacrificed in order to keep it oiled and running smoothly. This isn’t just true of the greens department, but all of them, really (costumes, props, etc.)” – ethacct

Organ runner

More commonly known as a “medical courier,” this job entails transporting human organs (or tissue or blood) from place to place. Time is of the essence with an organ being transplanted, so this job requires being on call and knowing how to safely transport the goods. But according to at least one person on Reddit, it’s a pretty sweet gig:

“I worked as an ‘Organ deliverer.’ Forgot the official title for around a year.

Job was simple I was stationed in the biggest hospital in my state. If an organ donation was received that needed to go to another hospital for a transplant it was my job to move it.

I was paid $40 an hour to most nights sit on my ass in the break room and watch TV or play on my phone. I’d probably only have to deliver something once a week at most. It was an okay job except that it was boring as shit, since the hospital I was ‘Stationed’ at did 95% of all the organ transplants in my state. And the other major hospital that did them was around 3 hours away and you wouldn’t ever have to go up to north to it.

Lots of pay to sit around but well I wasn’t exactly feeling fulfilled career wise.” – Larcya

bats flying

Batman (or urban bat tracker, to be precise)

This might be the most poetic job description ever written:

“You ever heard of an urban bat tracker? That’s me. I’m the guy who steps into the night when the city sleeps, tracking the unseen ballet of bats against the backdrop of empty offices and starlit skies. My job is a blend of science and solitude. Armed with detectors that translate bat echolocation into something audible, I map their flight, study their behavior, and contribute to research that’s vital for urban ecosystem conservation. It’s not just a job it’s a commitment to understanding these misunderstood creatures of the night. The experience is surreal. As the world winds down, my work begins. I walk through parks and alleyways, under bridges and alongside rivers. The citys nocturnal pulse becomes my soundtrack – a car horn here, a distant laughter there, all underlined by the constant, rhythmic clicking of my bat detector. Each night is a lesson in patience and awe. Bats, these tiny, agile creatures, dart and dive in the darkness, almost like shadows flitting at the edge of my vision. There’s a poetry in their flight, a kind of silent music that fills the night air. The pay is decetn, surprisingly. It’s a niche field, and expertise in urban wildlife ecology can be hard to come by. But it’s not the money that keeps me here. It’s the moments of connection, the feeling of being a part of something bigger and wilder, right in the heart of the city. Sometimes the most extraordinary things are hidden in plain sight, waiting to be discovered in the quiet symphony of the night.” – Local_dog91

There are so many more interesting jobs, from testing medical equipment to felting mini-golf courses to taking care of rich people’s cars, homes and horses. If you’re looking for work, keep your eyes and ears out for unusual opportunities. You just never know what kinds of careers you might stumble into.

When these drones zoom in over elephants and rhinos, they stop horrible things from happening

This is a story about something really exciting.

Before I get into it, let me set the stage by explaining the terrible problem it’s solving.

10 years.

That’s how long it’ll be until the last wild elephants and rhinoceroses are gone.

100 of them are killed every day by poachers.

Even though elephants and rhinos are legally protected, the amount of money that can be made from the ivory in their tusks is just too much for some people to resist.

So poachers go after elephants and rhinos in secret. They kill them in out-of-the-way places that are hard to patrol, and they do it at night under the cover of darkness.

Every hour, another elephant or rhino family is broken forever.

Now the Lindbergh Foundation has come up with an idea about how to stop poachers.

They’ve been testing their idea for two years now, and it really works.

Air Shepherd uses drones and computers to watch over elephants and rhinos the same way a shepherd protects his sheep.

It’s an amazing international, hi-tech system.

The drones in Africa are decked out with normal and infrared cameras that see where the animals — and the poachers — are. Even in the dark of night.

That imagery is sent to computers in the U.S. Using special software, they send back flight plans to the drones that predict where the animals are headed, which keeps the drones on top of the poachers.

Local rangers are notified, and they sweep in on the poachers.

During the 600 tests they’ve run so far, precisely zero poaching has occurred.

It’s a fantastic system.

Seven African countries have already requested help.

The Foundation has provided the seed money. They need contributions, though, so head over to the Air Shepherd site to see how you can get involved in this amazing project.

Please let your animal-loving friends know about this breakthrough program that could keep elephants and rhinos from going extinct. It’s so exciting.

(Unfortunately, the Lindbergh Foundation’s video has been removed from YouTube. But here’s an NBC News report about the project.)

27-year-old who died of cancer left behind final advice that left the internet in tears

The world said goodbye to Holly Butcher, a 27-year-old woman from Grafton, Australia.

Butcher had been battling Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare bone cancer that predominantly affects young people. In a statement posted on Butcher’s memorialized Facebook account, her brother, Dean, and partner, Luke, confirmed the heartbreaking news to friends.

“It is with great sadness that we announce Holly’s passing in the early hours of this morning,” they wrote on Jan. 4, 2018. “After enduring so much, it was finally time for her to say goodbye to us all. The end was short and peaceful; she looked serene when we kissed her forehead and said our final farewells. As you would expect, Holly prepared a short message for you all, which will be posted above.”

Butcher’s message, which Dean and Luke did, in fact, post publicly shortly thereafter, has brought the internet to tears.

We believe her powerful message — which has amassed an incredible 72,000 Likes and 56,000 shares across the world so far — deserves to be spread far and wide.

Butcher used her final post to reflect on what she’s learned in her short but beautiful life, offering some advice to those of us who are willing to listen.

“It’s a strange thing to [realize] and accept your mortality at 26 years young,” she began. “I always imagined myself growing old, wrinkled and gray — most likely caused by the beautiful family (lots of kiddies) I planned on building with the love of my life. I want that so bad it hurts. That’s the thing about life; It is fragile, precious and unpredictable and each day is a gift, not a given right.”

Butcher’s poignant post is definitely worth reading in full. But here are 16 especially powerful points:

1. “I just want people to stop worrying so much about the small, meaningless stresses in life and try to remember that we all have the same fate after it all, so do what you can to make your time feel worthy and great, minus the bullshit. … Those times you are [whining] about ridiculous things (something I have noticed so much these past few months), just think about someone who is really facing a problem. Be grateful for your minor issue and get over it. It’s OK to acknowledge that something is annoying but try not to carry on about it and negatively affect other people’s days.”

2. “Once you do that, get out there and take a freaking big breath of that fresh Aussie air deep in your lungs, look at how blue the sky is and how green the trees are; It is so beautiful. Think how lucky you are to be able to do just that — breathe. You might have got caught in bad traffic today, or had a bad sleep because your beautiful babies kept you awake, or your hairdresser cut your hair too short. … I swear you will not be thinking of those things when it is your turn to go. It is all SO insignificant when you look at life as a whole. I’m watching my body waste away right before my eyes with nothing I can do about it and all I wish for now is that I could have just one more birthday or Christmas with my family, or just one more day with my partner and dog. Just one more.”

3. “I hear people complaining about how terrible work is or about how hard it is to exercise — be grateful you are physically able to. Work and exercise may seem like such trivial things…until your body doesn’t allow you to do either of them… Appreciate your good health and functioning body — even if it isn’t your ideal size. Look after it and embrace how amazing it is.”

4. “Give, give, give. It is true that you gain more happiness doing things for others than doing them for yourself. I wish I did this more. Since I have been sick, I have met the most incredibly giving and kind people and been the receiver of the most thoughtful and loving words and support from my family, friends and strangers; more than I could ever give in return. I will never forget this and will be forever grateful to all of these people.”

5. “This year, our family agreed to do no presents and despite the tree looking rather sad and empty (I nearly cracked Christmas Eve!), it was so nice because people didn’t have the pressure of shopping and the effort went into writing a nice card for each other. Plus, imagine my family trying to buy me a present knowing they would probably end up with it themselves … strange! … but those cards mean more to me than any impulse purchase could. … Anyway, moral of the story — presents are not needed for a meaningful Christmas.”

6. “Use your money on experiences … or at least don’t miss out on experiences because you spent all your money on material shit. Put in the effort to do that day trip to the beach you keep putting off. Dip your feet in the water and dig your toes in the sand. Wet your face with salt water.”

7. “Try just enjoying and being in moments rather than capturing them through the screen of your phone. Life isn’t meant to be lived through a screen nor is it about getting the perfect photo.”

8. “Listen to music … really listen. Music is therapy.”

9. “Cuddle your dog. Far out, I will miss that.”

10. “Talk to your friends. Put down your phone. Are they doing OK?”

11. “Travel if it’s your desire, don’t if it’s not.”

12. “Work to live, don’t live to work.”

13. “Seriously, do what makes your heart feel happy.”

14. “Don’t feel pressured to do what other people might think is a fulfilling life. You might want a mediocre life and that is so OK.”

15. “Tell your loved ones you love them every time you get the chance and love them with everything you have.”

16. “Oh and one last thing. If you can, do a good deed for humanity (and myself) and start regularly donating blood. It will make you feel good with the added bonus of saving lives. Blood donation (more bags than I could keep up with counting) helped keep me alive for an extra year — a year I will be forever grateful that I got to spend here on Earth with my family, friends and dog. A year I had some of the greatest times of my life.”

Butcher may be gone, but her impact will live on in the hearts and minds of people around the world.

“Never [met] her, but I am very touched and in tears,” one Facebook user commented. “Such a bright light for a seemingly dark world at times,” another chimed in. “Beautiful.”

“What a wise soul she is,” someone concluded. “I’m off to donate my blood.”

Rest in peace, Holly. You made this world a better place. ❤️

If you are in the U.S. and inspired by Butcher’s message, consider finding a blood donation center near you. You could save a life.
