At the beginning of the year, months after she released her debut project Like..?, Ice Spice announced her debut album and revealed that it would be called Y2K. The title aligns with the rapper’s birthday which falls on January 1, 2000. At the time, Ice Spice said that Y2K would arrive at some point this year, and true to her word, the rapper revealed that the project will indeed come out this summer.

In posts she shared on her social media pages, Ice Spice announced that Y2K will be released on July 12. “HIIIII >.<,” she wrote in her posts. “THE ALBUM WILL BE DROPPING JULY 26TH !!!! pre-save now ;*.” Ice Spice shared a pre-save link to the project and also unveiled the album’s artwork which depicts her standing in front of a wall of concrete block by subway stairwell with her back facing the viewer. “Ice Spice” is written in graffiti font on the cover, as is “Y2K” which appears on a trash can beside her.

So far, Y2K is led by one single, “Gimme A Light,” which Ice Spice released last month. The track sampled Sean Paul’s 2002 hit “Gimme The Light” with a similar ode to dancefloors and weed, but with a spicy twist. Prior to that, she jumped on Cash Cobain and Bay Swag’s “Fisherrr” for a new remix and released “Think U The Sh*t (Fart)” which she later confirmed was a Latto diss.

Earlier this week, Kanye West was levied with claims of sexual harassment from his former assistant as well as accusations of breach of contract, wrongful termination, and hostile work environment. Lauren Pisciotta, who began working with West after meeting him during is Donda era, says the musician and fashion designer sent her several vulgar texts during her employment under him. Now, West is responding to those claims and shared plans to countersue Pisciotta for her accusations.

TMZ reports that Kanye’s legal team gave them a statement in response to Pisciotta’s claims. “In response to these baseless allegations, Ye will be filing a lawsuit against Ms. Pisciotta, who actively pursued him sexually to coerce employment and other material benefits, then engaged in blackmail and extortion when her advances were rejected,” West’s team told the publication. “It is evident that Ms. Pisciotta leveraged her association with Ye and his company, and her proximity to him, to seek material gains, clout, and employment through inappropriate means.”

They also accused Pisciotta of attempting to steal West’s phone in order to delete evidence that would prove her accusations were false. This evidence includes nude images that Pisciotta allegedly sent to West as well as her attempts to solicit him for sex and requests for a luxury items like a Birkin bag and a Lamborghini that were both denied.

Kanye’s legal team also denied Pisciotta’s wrongful termination claim, saying that her work with Kanye came to an end because she was unqualified, made outrageous salary demands, and engaged in “lascivious, unhinged conduct.” They go on to say that once her requests were denied, Pisciotta attempted to extort and blackmail Kanye and his team with demands in the tens of millions of dollars prior to her lawsuit.

¡CASA BONITA MI AMOR! is directed by Arthur Bradford, who said in a statement, “I think people will be surprised to see the level of hands-on devotion Matt and Trey poured into this place. Trey was fueled by a Wonka-like passion to bring back the Casa Bonita of his youth.”

Following the Tribeca Film Festival premiere, Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen will moderate a conversation with Parker, Stone, and Bradford (you can find more information here).

The South Park creators used their many millions of dollars to renovate Casa Bonita “like a piece of art,” Stone said. Parker added, “It would be way cheaper if we just went hang gliding over volcanoes.” If only all rich people used their money on restoring the “Disneyland of Mexican restaurants,” with its cliff divers and pirate caves, not making the world’s ugliest car.

Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla‘s Hot Girl Summer Tour continues to be one of the year’s most exciting events. This past weekend, at the Atlanta stop of the tour, they were joined by fellow Hot Girl rapper Latto on stage. But the fun didn’t stop after the show.

In a clip that has since gone viral, Latto and Glo are seen backstage having fun, and dancing to music. The two then swiftly move into a dance-off, as Meg and Glo’s collab “Wanna Be” plays in the background. Latto and Glo then see who can out-twerk the other.

While their competition appears to be friendly, Glo is sure that she was the winner of the twerk off.

“latto didn’t win dat dance battle let’s be fr,” said Glo in a tweet.

Latto, however, wasn’t having it, and asked her followers “Who gone tell her????”

Meg didn’t want smoke with anyone, and simply offered a reasonable suggestion.

“I think yall need a rematch,” said Meg.

But Latto is confident that she’s the clear winner.

“Aww Meg protecting ur feelings that’s a real friend,” said Latto.

Latto doubled down, reuploading a clip with a scoreboard at the bottom of the screen, which seems to indicated that she’s the winner.

The Chicago Sky played host to the New York Liberty on Tuesday night and were unable to pick up a win. Despite leading as the game entered the fourth quarter, the Sky struggled to get going offensively in the game’s final period and picked up an 88-75 loss to fall to 3-5 on the year.

First-round pick Angel Reese had a double-double on the night, going for 13 points and 10 rebounds in 24 minutes of work. She also saw her night come to a premature end in a … let’s call it strange way, as the former LSU standout got ejected with two and a half minutes left for voicing her disappointment after getting called for a personal foul.

It, truly, does not look like she does much of anything here — she waved her hand at a referee and walked away, which usually means a player said something a referee doesn’t like, and apparently, she said “that’s bullsh*t” twice. Still, that is awfully harsh, and it go to the point that a player on the opposing team, Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu, apparently came to her defense, asking the referee why that deserved two technicals and an ejection.

We’ll see if Reese says anything about this after the game, because if this really just a matter of a player saying “that’s bullsh*t” twice and waving their hand at a referee, this is about as soft of an ejection as you’ll ever see. Bulls guard Lonzo Ball, who was at the game, agreed and wanted to make sure Reese didn’t pick up an additional fine, taking up the cause of calling out the ref himself on Twitter.

Kaytranada is about to turn this summer up to another level. This week, the prolific producer and DJ will drop his new album, Timeless. This marks his third album, and his first full-length project in five years.

Fans can’t wait to dip into Kaytrananada’s pulsating, seductive grooves, and thankfully, they won’t have to wait much longer.

Lady Gaga is no stranger to rumors. But as a pop queen, she’ll never let anyone’s words faze her or stop her from accomplishing her mission. Since the very beginning of her career, Gaga has used her platform to advocate for women, the LGBTQ+ community, and reproductive equality. Today (June 4), Gaga took to social media to dismiss a rumor about her. And while she had viewers’ attention, she issued a call to action.

Recently, rumors have circulated that the “Rain On Me” singer is pregnant. Gaga, however, has denied said rumors. In a TikTok, she captioned the video “not pregnant— just down bad cryin at the gym.” This particular line is a reference to “Down Bad” from Taylor Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.

Also, in true Gaga fashion, she called upon fans and viewers to get registered to vote. She plugged the website headcount.org, where visitors can set up their voter registration.

On the music front, Gaga recently premiered her Chromatica World Tour concert film on HBO. At the end of the movie, Gaga teased her upcoming seventh album, which has been nicknamed LG7 by fans.

As Gaga is always active on the social justice landscape, while being hard at work on new music, it’s about to be a very busy season for Mother Monster.

The basketball world was rocked earlier this year by the news that Jontay Porter, the brother of Denver Nuggets star Michael Porter Jr. and a member of the Toronto Raptors on a two-way contract, would receive a lifetime ban from the NBA for violating the league’s gambling rules. There were plenty of details that the league announced following its investigation into the allegations, and on Tuesday, we learned a bit more thanks to a criminal complaint that was filed in federal court in Brooklyn against a man named Long Phi Pham.

You can read the whole thing here, but while Porter’s name does not come up — there is only a reference to “Player 1” — all the events in here match up with the two games that came under scrutiny. Perhaps the most damning thing in here is that Porter allegedly accrued so much gambling debt that he was “encouraged to clear those debts by withdrawing from certain games prematurely.”

In early 2024, Player 1 had amassed large gambling debts to certain of the co-conspirators. Player 1 was encouraged to clear those debts by withdrawing from certain games prematurely to ensure that under prop bets on Player 1’s performance were successful. On January 22, 2024, Player 1 sustained a purported eye injury during a game. He was evaluated and diagnosed with a corneal abrasion, but was not placed on the NBA injury list. Shortly before the game on January 26, 2024 (the January 26 Game) Player 1 told the defendant that he would be removing himself early from the game, claiming that he was injured. Player 1 entered the January 26 Game midway through the first quarter. After playing just four minutes and recording zero points, three rebounds and one assist, Player 1 removed himself from the game after he complained to team officials that he had reaggravated the eye injury.

This would be in reference to Porter’s game on Jan. 26 against the Los Angeles Clippers, and it had previously been reported that there was some serious money on his various unders during that game. Elsewhere in the complaint are details about the other game that came under scrutiny — Porter exiting a game in March against the Sacramento Kings after less than three minutes. Two weeks later, after the allegations came to light, Porter allegedly contacted all of the co-conspirators in the case and claimed that the group “might just get hit w a rico.” There are three other co-conspirators in this case, but they remain at large.

Sexyy Red has the summer on lock with her hit single, “Get It Sexyy.” As the song has gone viral, Sexyy has become a household name, and as her star rises, she has one mission — to Make America Sexyy Again.

While everyone can get behind the idea of making America “Sexyy,” most fans aren’t exactly thrilled about the delivery. Sexyy’s slogan sounds very much similar to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.” Her performance at Roots Picnic 2024 last week sparked some more controversy, when she performed in front of a giant red hat, which read “Make America Sexyy Again.”

After some buzz online, Sexyy took to Twitter to offer clarification and distance herself from Trump.

“It’s Sexyy Red 4 President,” she said. “I’m my own candidate I’m not endorsing anybody period.”

While fans appreciated the clarification, it’s not hard to understand why some may have been confused.

Last October, Sexyy vocalized her support for Trump on comedian Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast.

“I like Trump,” she said. “Yeah, they support him in the hood. At first I don’t think people was f*cking with him. They thought he was racist, saying little sh*t against women. But once he started getting Black people out of jail and giving people that free money. Aww baby, we love Trump. We need him back in office. We need him back because, baby, them checks. Them stimulus checks. Trump, we miss you.”

Thanfully, it appears Sexyy has changed her mind.

Tinashe is kicking off her nasty girl summer. Her latest single, “Nasty,” has been taking over TikTok, and spawning some pretty iconic memes. And while fans are eagerly awaiting her upcoming album, Quantum Baby, Tinashe has a special treat to pair well with the music she’s dropping this summer. During an album preview in her hometown of Los Angeles, Tinashe debuted Green T, her weed strain which comes via a partnership with RYTHM premium cannabis.

“I feel most spiritual when I connect with nature and listen to music. It’s no coincidence, both are magical, profound wellness tools,” shared Tinashe in a statement. “Green T celebrates emotional, creative, and overall well-being.”

According to RYTHM’s official website, Tinashe curated Green T herself, and contains “rich and earthy” yet “sweet and fruity” notes. Green T is set to launch in Pennsylvania later this month, and will be available in other territories soon after.

Fans can also look forward to special meet-and-greet launch events for Green T in select markets.

Additionally, “Nasty” has shown to be quite a hit for Tinashe. The song has reached No. 1 on the iTunes R&B charts, and is currently pulling in over one million daily streams on Spotify.
