Don Toliver’s new album just got an upgrade. Less than two full weeks after the release of Hardstone Psycho, the Houston crooner has released a deluxe version with four new tracks, including “Donny Darko,” which features Lil Uzi Vert. The driving, chaotic track sees Lil Uzi still firmly in his “living up to his name” bag (he named himself for his rapid-fire flow, which he resurrected on his last album and hasn’t put down since), while Don Toliver continues to employ his melodic flow; it’s a short-but-effective turn up anthem. The other new songs on the album include “Rockstar Girl,” “Love Is A Drug,” and “Geeked Up” featuring Yeat.
In addition to dropping the deluxe version of Hardstone Psycho, Toliver’s been popping up in all sorts of unexpected places lately. He appears on the tracklists of new albums from dance music specialists Kaytranada and Toro Y Moi and even in the world of video games, via a Hardstone-themed event in the ever-popular shooter Fortnite. What’s next for Don Toliver? One would assume there’s a tour announcement on the way, but if not, keep your eyes peeled. You never know what he’ll do next.

Back in October, Megan Thee Stallion first began teasing her new era after freeing herself from her old record deal and going independent. In just a few days, she’ll reveal the culmination of her efforts in the form of her third album, Megan, which she announced just after launching her Hot Girl Summer Tour. In sharing the cover for Megan, the Houston Hottie caused some controversy among fans, who decried the original art’s departure from the previously established snake theme of the promotion to date. However, it appeared Meg was ready for the backlash, as she had not just one but two snakier covers ready to go. You can see all three covers below.
The US leg of the Hot Girl Summer tour will be done before the album’s release, but there’s a European leg remaining. After that, Meg may swing back around to the states to perform all her new songs, so stay tuned.
Sour Widows would one day like to be remembered as the best band of all time. Judging from the scope and execution of their full-length debut, Revival Of A Friend, it truly sounds like that’s the vibe they’re going for. But this collection of 10 songs don’t feel ambitious to the point of grandiloquence; these are lived-in yet commanding tunes that exude the camaraderie of a tight-knit band.
Singer-songwriters Maia Sinaiko and Susanna Thomson, plus drummer Max Edelman, are wonderfully in sync. After the Bay Area indie rock trio broke through with a pair of EPs in 2020 and 2021, as well as a couple of singles following those EPs, Sour Widows were primed for something bigger. From the scuzzy travelogue “I-90” to the closing diptych “Staring Into Heaven/Shining,” Revival Of A Friend is one of the finest debuts of 2024.
Ahead of the record’s release this Friday, the band sat down with Uproxx to talk about Fergie’s performance of the national anthem, Flea, and cryptocurrency in our latest Q&A.
What are four words you would use to describe your music?
Susanna: Friendship, epic, rock ‘n’ roll, memory.
It’s 2050 and the world hasn’t ended and people are still listening to your music. How would you like it to be remembered?
Susanna: As the best band of all time.
Who’s the person who has most inspired your work, and why?
Max: It’s hard to pick one person. Radiohead is a big influence on all of us and always has been.
Where did you eat the best meal of your life and what was it?
Max: The best meal we ever had on tour was Terry Black’s BBQ in Austin.
Tell us about the best concert you’ve ever attended.
Max: My Bloody Valentine.
What song never fails to make you emotional?
Maia: The national anthem as sung by Fergie.
What’s the last thing you Googled?
Maia: 1970s Stratocaster.
Where’s the weirdest place you’ve ever crashed while on tour?
Maia: An unfinished building in the woods in Asheville.
What’s your favorite city in the world to perform and what’s the city you hope to perform in for the first time?
Susanna: Orlando was epic. We hope to play in London and Barcelona.
What’s one piece of advice you’d go back in time to give to your 18-year-old self?
Max: Invest in cryptocurrency.
What’s one of your hidden talents?
Susanna: Juggling.
If you had a million dollars to donate to charity, what cause would you support and why?
Susanna: Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund because free Palestine from the river to the sea.
What are your thoughts about AI and the future of music?
Maia: AI is bad for planet earth. It’s bad. It’s our worst nightmare and a waste of our time. Edgelord bullsh*t. Going to be used to surveil and control us even more.
You are throwing a music festival. Give us the dream lineup of 5 artists that will perform with you and the location it would be held.
Maia: Emperor, Joni Mitchell, Tom Waits, Prince, Korn. One day would be held at Pompeii, the next day at Stonehenge, and then the third day would be at the Pyramids of Giza.
Who’s your favorite person to follow on social media?
Maia: Flea.
What’s the story behind your first or favorite tattoo?
Maia: We have matching tattoos of the Buc-ees mascot because he’s done so much for us.
What is your pre-show ritual?
Maia: We stand in a circle and say “Play for your lives.”
Who was your first celebrity crush?
Maia: Betty Boop.
You have a month off and the resources to take a dream vacation. Where are you going and who is coming with you?
Susanna: We are going to Greece and we’re taking all our loved ones and pets.
What is your biggest fear?
Max: Shark attack.

Following the release of her well-received 2022 debut album Hypnos, Ravyn Lenae has teamed up with the ultimate collaborator, Ty Dolla Sign, on a new single, “Dream Girl.” The song also coincides with the announcement of Lenae’sBird’s Eye tour that is set to kick off later this year.
The tour is a two-parter, with a North American run in October and then some European shows in November. Tickets go on sale on June 28 at 10 a.m. PT, and more information can be found on Lenae’s website. Additionally, she’ll also be supporting Omar Apollo (a former tourmate) for a one-off performance at the iconic Red Rocks.

Tons of Jeopardy! contestants have talked about how the hardest part of the game show isn’t knowing the correct response, it’s managing the buzzer while sweating under the hot studio lights and knowing that all your friends and family will be watching at home. As someone who gets anxious ordering in the Taco Bell drive-thru line, that sounds like a lot of pressure. Everyone who gets on Jeopardy! is obviously intelligent — sometimes, it’s the other non-smartypants factors that get to them, or it’s just not their day.
It definitely wasn’t Erin Buker’s day. She nearly set an unwanted record on Monday’s episode of Jeopardy! when she finished with the second lowest total in the game show’s history with negative $7,2000. She was only 200 dollars away from tying the lowest score, set by Patrick Pearce in July 2021.
What happened? “It was a day to forget for Erin indeed! Unfortunately, they taped what little I was able to forget about it,” she wrote on the Jeopardy! subreddit. “When it came to the buzzer, I was my own worst enemy, frequently buzzing in midway through the clue as if my thumb had a mind of its own. There’s something uniquely frustrating about knowing answers, but not having the wherewithall to ring in at the appropriate time to answer them. That was my defecit and I own it entirely.”
Despite her negative score, Buker has a positive attitude about her time on Jeopardy!. “All in all, it was still a great experience,” she wrote, adding, “All I know is that when the WOAT tournament rolls around, I’m a shoe-in!”
Fans are shivering with anticipation for Kendrick Lamar‘s upcoming music video for “Not Like Us.” But the behind the scenes footage is proving to be equally as captivating as the yet-to-be-released visual. Last week, Lamar was in Compton filming the video for the Drake diss track, and several fans showed up to witness history in the making.
In between shooting scenes for the video, Lamar walked by fans. As he was passing by the crowd, a fan pinched him on the cheek. This prompted a huge smile from Lamar, who was seen glowing as a result.

“This is going to ruin the tour” has become one of the internet’s biggest memes lately. If you’re out of the loop, according to Page Six, when Justin Timberlake was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated earlier this month, Timberlake reportedly said under his breath, “This is going to ruin the tour.” The police officer supposedly responded, “What tour,” to which Timberlake replied, “The world tour.”
Well, the good news for Timberlake is that the incident hasn’t seemed to ruin The Forget Tomorrow World Tour. He just played Madison Square Garden last night (June 25), and before that, Timberlake shared his first social media post since the arrest. In it, he shows off a special orange-and-blue shirt he made to commemorate the shows (he plays MSG again tonight).
The most-liked comments on the post address the arrest. One says, “Ok but petition for new merch that says ‘This is going to ruin the tour’ because I’d honestly buy that in a heartbeat.” Another reads, “Glad it didn’t ruin the tour.” Somebody else wrote, “You should make a tour shirt with your mug shot. That’d be kinda [fire].”
When Timberlake performed in Chicago on June 21, he seemingly addressed the arrest by saying, “We’ve been together through ups and downs and lefts and rights. And it’s been a tough week, but you’re here, and I’m here, and nothing can change this moment right now. I know sometimes I’m hard to love, but you keep on loving me and I love you right back, thank you so much.”
At the season 3 premiere of the FX series (which is back this week) on Tuesday, Allen White offered some details about the biopic.
“We’ve communicated a little bit through some other people, but I hope this still all comes together,” he told Variety. “We’ve still got a few things, we’ve got some timing stuff to work out, and I’m trying to have a bit of my own process with it before meeting the man, too.” When asked if he’ll do his own singing, Allen White replied, “We’re gonna try. We’re gonna try our best.”
Allen White added, “I wanna try to have an understanding, so when I meet him, I’ll have a bit of confidence somewhere in me to stand there.”
The actor hasn’t done much singing on The Bear, but here he is learning the “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” dance with his Shameless co-stars, so he should be able to recreate the “Dancing In The Dark” music video, no problem.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship reads like something out of a movie: The world’s biggest pop star links up with the charming star athlete. At the very least, it looks like it has now perhaps inspired a movie: Yesterday (June 25), Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs announced that the NFL and Hallmark (a Kansas City-based company, by the way) are collaborating on a new film called Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.
The movie stars Tyler Hynes, Hunter King, and Ed Begley Jr. The official synopsis reads:
“In Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, Alana Higman (King) is sure that her family’s lifelong history as Kansas City Chiefs superfans makes them a frontrunner to win the team’s ‘Fan of the Year’ contest. Derrick (Hynes), Director of Fan Engagement, is tasked with evaluating how Alana and her family stack up against the other two finalists. As the pair spends time together, it’s clear there’s a spark between them but when her grandfathers (Begley Jr.) vintage Chiefs, good luck winter hat goes missing, Alana begins to doubt everything she believed about fate, destiny and even questions her future with Derrick — unless, that is, a little Christmas magic can throw a Hail Mary.”
The plot itself doesn’t appear to have parallels with Swift and Kelce’s romance, but its very existence seems inspired by the existence of the relationship, to capitalize on interest in the Chiefs-centric romance.
Perhaps, though, the use of the word “alchemy” in this quote from Darren Abbott — Chief Brand Officer, Hallmark — is a Swift nod: “With Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs both homegrown, rooted in values, tradition and community, there is a special alchemy between these two iconic organizations. By blending the warmth of Hallmark storytelling with the excitement of professional football, we are thrilled to give audiences a front-row seat to this community’s spirit, rich traditions and passionate fans that define Kansas City, all wrapped up in the comforting and uplifting Hallmark way.”
Production on the movie begins in July and will film entirely in Kansas City locations, including the Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium.
