Kamala Harris’ Presidential Campaign Reportedly Gets The Beyoncé Bump As Bey Approves The Use Of A Song

Last night (July 22), Kamala Harris made her first official visit to her presidential campaign headquarters. When she did so, she walked out to Beyoncé’s Lemonade song “Freedom.” Tons of musicians have gotten mad at Donald Trump for using their music at his public showings, but Harris apparently did things by the book and got Beyoncé on her side.

CNN reports that “a source close to Harris” told them Harris’ team “got approval from Beyoncé’s representatives to use the song throughout her presidential campaign,” and that Beyoncé “gave quick approval to Harris’ campaign” to use the track “just hours before she walked out to the song.”

As of yet, Beyoncé has not officially endorsed Harris’ presidential campaign.

This comes shortly after Charli XCX did give her explicit endorsement, tweeting, “kamala IS brat,” in reference to her new album Brat. From there, Harris’ team knew what to do: As part of re-branding the Biden-Harris campaign social media pages, they used a Brat-themed banner image, which left the folks at CNN deeply confused.

Harris previously said in a statement, “On behalf of the American people, I thank Joe Biden for his extraordinary leadership as President of the United States and for his decades of service to our country. I am honored to have the President’s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination.”

M. Night Shyamalan Was Team Kendrick Lamar Even Before He Referenced ‘The Sixth Sense’ In His Feud With Drake

M. Night Shyamalan’s most childhood trauma-inducing film is Signs, but Drake is probably more traumatized by The Sixth Sense.

Kendrick Lamar referenced the 1999 film in two diss tracks against Drake. On “Euphoria,” he rapped, “Am I battlin’ ghost or AI? / N*gga feelin’ like Joel Osteen / Funny, he was in a film called A.I. / And my sixth sense tellin’ me to off him.” (He meant Haley Joel Osment, who was a good sport about the whole thing.) Lamar also begins his No. 1 hit “Not Like Us” with “I see dead people.”

While promoting his new The Eras Tour-inspired film Trap, Shyamalan was asked about the feud. “We kind of lightly know each other, and I did know [he was a fan],” the director said of Lamar on the Way Up With Angela Yee podcast, according to Billboard. “He’s very gracious with me, and I love him.”

Shyamalan first learned about The Sixth Sense lyric from someone he works with. “The first song ends with it. So someone in the office was like, ‘Oh, Kendrick just dropped something and it references one of your [movies].’ I was like, ‘Oh, cool.’ That was before everything blew up,” he explained.

If the feud with Drake continues, Kendrick should start referencing some of M. Night’s other films. Let’s see what he can do with Lady In The Water.

Ryan Reynolds Gives His Perspective On The Long-Rumored Potential Taylor Swift Cameo In ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’

Deadpool & Wolverine comes out on July 26, and for much of the lead-up, there have been rumors that Taylor Swift has a surprise appearance in the movie. Well, now Ryan Reynolds himself has addressed the situation, on The Tonight Show yesterday (July 22).

Jimmy Fallon brought up the “rumors all about all these insane cameos that may or may not be in the movie,” to which Reynolds said, “We don’t really have cameos as much as surprises.” Fallon then tried to squeeze some info out of Reynolds, saying in a hushed voice, “Taylor Swift.” Reynolds responded, “I wish. Taylor… you know, if I ever stop, she’d make a good Deadpool. She’s funny. Funny. Funny!”

He continued, “I would say that the folks that do show up in the movie, that somehow — I have no idea how we’ve managed to keep it secret, given the internet and all this stuff, ’cause somehow it hasn’t come out — I would say that they’re more surprises, because they have beginnings, middles, and ends. It’s not just like a, ‘Hey, there’s the person,’ and we move on: They’re there for a reason.”

So, either Swift truly isn’t in the movie, or Reynolds is denying it to preserve the secret (and it wouldn’t hurt the bottom line if some speculative Swifties bought movie tickets with the hope of seeing Swift).

Husband is certain wife’s baby name will cause too much pain for their child. Is he wrong?

It’s one thing to debate with your spouse over giving your child a name that is so unique it could cause them trouble. It’s another to fight with your spouse over giving your child a name that is so incredibly common it’s used as a placeholder when an unidentified man has passed away.

This was the problem a Reddit user (The_Doeberman), whose last name is Doe, faced when his wife wanted to name their baby boy after her grandfather, John.

“My wife is six months pregnant and wants to name our future son after her grandfather, who died of cancer in September. His name was John,” the husband wrote on the AITA forum

“I liked her grandfather, and I know he and my wife were very close, but I won’t even consider it, not even for our son’s middle name,” he continued. “I feel that’s just setting him up for a world of problems, especially when he grows up and has to apply for jobs. Nobody’s going to believe ‘John Doe’ is his real name.”

The wife thought that the husband was being difficult for vetoing the name and claimed he was “exaggerating” the issues the child would face.

But he has a pretty strong argument. The name John Doe is synonymous with the unclaimed dead body that someone finds in a roadside motel in the middle of nowhere or an anonymous victim of trauma that can’t be named in court documents. It’s also often used as a placeholder, which could cause the child problems when applying for college or a job.

There is no exact answer to why John Doe was chosen to represent the “everyman,” but it has been used in the UK for hundreds of years. It’s believed because John Doe was a popular name at the time. Later, in the US, unidentified females would come to be known as Jane Doe.

The husband used Reddit’s AITA page to ask whether he was in the wrong and the commenters were overwhelmingly supportive of him.

One commenter thought that “John Doe” was a bad idea but gave a solution that could work for the wife. “People will think it’s a fake name. It’s going to cause him major problems with passports and ID as well as job and college applications. He may have issues with medical stuff etc.,” they wrote. Instead, they suggested using an alternative version of “John” from another language.

“As an example only: Look for other languages’ version of John. For example Eoin is the Irish way of spelling Owen. Eoin in itself is the Irish version of John…” they wrote.

Another commenter was blunt about their objection.

“I’m not superstitious, but I’d feel uncomfortable having a kid whose name basically stands for ‘found dead in the park, stab wound to the chest, no ID,’” they added.

One commenter noted all of the legal troubles that could come with having the name John Doe.

“I imagine a lifetime of getting stopped by the TSA for enhanced screening, of job applications being tossed for being fake and just everything being harder than it should be because you have a fake name,” they wrote. “If giving him the grandfather’s name is so important, why not give him the grandpa’s middle name?”

In the end, it’s touching for a mother to name their newborn son after her grandfather, but according to the father and a legion of people online, “John Doe” simply carries too much baggage and would be more of a hindrance than a tribute. The good news is that there are many ways that the wife can pay homage to her grandfather that won’t make her son’s life more difficult.

According to reports, Yo Gotti’s CMG Records team is in mourning. Yesterday (July 21), following signee EST Gee’s highly anticipated homecoming concert, the “Never Scared” rapper’s longtime friend and manager, EST Big Beach, was supposedly killed (as told by WDRB) in Louisville, Kentucky.

The local outlet shared that EST Big Beach (real name Devontae Beach) was found inside a vehicle with riddled with gunshot wounds by emergency responders. Beach was in town to support his client and friend’s EST Gee & Friends Summer Jam concert being held at KFC Yum Center the day prior.

In the report, Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Aaron Ellis provided further details. Supposedly, a local reached out to local authorities to report a shooting around the 800 block of West Main Street in the late evening hours. Around 1:30 a.m., police arrived to the scene to find Beach. Although Emergency Medical Services were called to the area to tend to the matter, but sadly Beach was pronounced dead.

Since the incident, LMPD’s Homicide Unit has opened an investigation. However, at this time, they reportedly do not have any suspects.

None of the CMG Records team have issued a public statement regarding EST Big Beach’s alleged death. But that hasn’t stopped fans and local supporters from flooding the music professional’s comment section across Instagram with touching tributes.

Chris Brown, Yella Beezy, And Live Nation Were Reportedly Named In A $50 Million Lawsuit Over A Supposed ’11:11 Tour’ Assault

Chris Brown is hot water. The “No Guidance” singer is currently traveling around the country for his 11:11 Tour, and while in Fort Worth, Texas, he was reportedly involved in a full-out brawl.

According to TMZ, Brown, members of his crew, including Yella Beezy and Sinko Ceej as Live Nation, have been named in a $50 million lawsuit. The documents obtained by the outlet allege that on July 20, the group physically assaulted four fans backstage at Dickies Arena.

The supposed victims (Larry Parker, Joseph Lewis, Charles Bush, and Da Marcus Powell) claimed that following Brown’s performance they were invited backstage. When they met up with Brown, they praised his performance earlier in the evening. But after a brief friendly exchange, things toured sour.

Bush said that a member of Brown’s team attempted to rile the entertainer up, recounting a supposed ongoing beef. He went on to say, they were immediately pounced on by up to ten people. An alleged assailant known as Hood Boss supposedly threw a chair, which struck him in the head. He also claimed Brown commanded Yella Beezy and others to join in on the alleged assault, which he says lasted 10 minutes.

In a statement, the attorney representing the alleged victims, Tony Buzbee, said each of the four men sustained severe injuries which required medical treatments. As of today (July 22), one of the supposed victims is still in the hospital.

The alleged victims have also reportedly filed for restraining orders against Brown, Yella Beezy, and Sinko Ceej.

Hospice nurse who’s seen a hundred people die shares the one regret her patients always have

As the old saying goes, “You don’t know what you’ve got ‘til it’s gone.” Sadly, this hard truth becomes increasingly evident as we reach our final days. The things we take for granted today, such as our health, relationships, and time itself, become much more precious when we know they are about to end.

How much happier would we be every day if we lived with the perspective of those who are experiencing their final days?

Julie McFadden, known to her hundreds of thousands of followers on social media, as Hospice Nurse Julie, helps people appreciate their lives by regularly sharing her experiences with those who are living their final days.

Recently, she stopped by Rob Moore’s “The Disruptors” podcast, where she shared some of the big lessons she’s learned from the dying. Moore is a public speaker, entrepreneur and bestselling author of “Life Leverage.”

Given his background as an entrepreneur, Moore assumed that when people reach their final days, they regret the amount of time they spend working. “People definitely say that. ‘I wish I didn’t work my life away. I wish I didn’t wait until retirement to do the things I wanted to do,'” McFadden said. However, there is another big regret that many share. “The main thing people say, that I don’t hear a lot of people mention, is ‘I wish I would have appreciated my health,’” she added.

“I think the biggest thing I hear from people [who are] dying is that they wish they would have appreciated how well they how well they felt before,” she continued.

It seems that when people’s health begins to decline, they miss the vitality they never fully appreciated.

“I think most people take for granted things that have always been,” she told Moore. “You know, it’s really easy to forget. We’re so lucky to be alive in this moment. We’re taking a breath right now. We’re here on a rock that’s like soaring through space. I mean, that alone can blow your mind.”

McFadden believes that her profession reminds her to be grateful because dying is just as natural as living.

“I think because of my job, it’s easier for me to see how once-in-a-lifetime this is. The fact that everything works together in our bodies to make us live and grow and I see that in-depth, too. I see how our bodies are biologically built to die,” she said. “That, right there, is so fascinating. We literally have built-in mechanisms to help us die. Our body can naturally do it. That’s wild.”

To get the most out of the miracle of life, McFadden writes a gratitude list every night so she’s sure to appreciate everything she has. Because, in the blink of an eye, it can be gone. “I like the fact that I can breathe, I’m walking around, I can feel the sunshine – little things like that,” she shared.

Our lives are filled with incredible gifts, whether it’s the people we love, the amazing things our bodies can do, or the places we get to see. But without gratitude, these beautiful gifts can easily go unnoticed and unappreciated. Practicing gratitude allows us to cherish these moments, so we’re fulfilled by what we have, instead of disillusioned by what we don’t.
