What happens when the world’s biggest pop star starts dating an NFL Hall Of Fame-bound tight end? Well, for Kansas City Chiefs chief executive officer Clark Hunt, it looks like a whole lot of money.

Hunt told Bloomberg that Taylor Swift’s high-profile relationship with Travis Kelce led to a 30-percent increase in the team’s fan base.

“I always want to point out how happy I am for Taylor and Travis in the relationship. I’ve seen them together and they make a make a fantastic couple,” he said, adding that “the growth in our female fan base has been amazing over the last year.” It helps that the Chiefs are a very good team. Literally the best in the league.

The “Taylor Swift effect,” as it were, can be seen by Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Kelce having the most in-demand jerseys in the NFL, according to Yardbarker. Interestingly, however, neither of them led the league in sales of officially licensed apparel. That honor belongs to Philadelphia Eagles signal-caller Jalen Hurts. In fact, from March 1, 2023 to February 29, 2024, Travis’ now-retired brother Jason was a bigger seller than the Chiefs tight end.

Which is weird, because he’s been known to wear no jersey (or shirt) at all.

Tyler The Creator isn’t afraid to speak his mind. He’s also not afraid to look back and own up to faults in his past conduct.

In a recent interview on Mavericks With Mav Carter, Tyler spoke about seeing the Netlfix series Painkillers and how it changed his perspective on Eminem’s album Recovery. Tyler said (find the video clip here):

“When [Recovery] came out, I f*cking hated it. Hated it, publicly was like, ‘This sh*t is wack,’ didn’t like it. And after watching [Painkillers], I felt so bad about those tweets and things like that, because thinking from his perspective, someone like me publicly saying that stuff and him getting off drugs and being clean and getting to a point in life where that’s behind him, and me implying, ‘Nah, this sh*t is wack.’ He probably felt like I was attacking him. I thought I was just like, ‘I don’t like the music.’ He was in a different part of his life and probably felt like I was attacking him. And now I feel so bad about saying that stuff because my perspective was so limited. And I love him; That dude taught me how to rap. I learned how to put words together in rhythm because of some of the Eminem stuff I was hearing.”

He added later, “If I ever see him, I want to tell him that.”

Charli XCX owned this summer with Brat and Brat And It’s The Same But There’s Three More Songs So It’s Not. In fact, Brat is so strong that Charli XCX is influencing a presidential campaign in a country she doesn’t even reside in.

But she isn’t satisfied.

On Wednesday, August 14, Charli XCX posted a TikTok soundtracked by a fan’s mash-up of her Brat track “360” and Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams.” Written atop the video is, “I’m in Poland… There’s a whiff of autumn in the breeze.. Something is shifting.” That’s a vague indication that perhaps Brat summer will evolve into Brat autumn, but there’s a more direct tease in the caption: “Maybe one more remix and then ?”

The last time Charli XCX moved like this on social media, she dropped a “Guess” remix featuring Billie Eilish — complete with a video in which it’s raining panties. Finneas and The Dare co-produced the song.

Before that, Charli XCX and Lorde revamped “Girl, So Confusing” and famously “worked it out on the remix.”

Brat was released on June 7 and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. Charli XCX and Troye Sivan’s co-headlining Sweat tour will come stateside on September 14 and hit iconic venues like New York City’s Madison Square Garden before wrapping in Seattle, Washington on October 23.

Jayson Tatum‘s stint at the Paris Olympics could have gone better. While he became a two-time Olympic gold medalist as a member of the United States men’s basketball team, Tatum got a few DNP-CDs and struggled to get into the sort of groove that we’ve seen him get into during his time with the Boston Celtics.

Fortunately for Tatum, he’s generally had a pretty good couple of months — winning a gold medal is a major honor, and of course, he’s coming off of the first NBA championship of his career after the Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks in five games. And as an added bonus, Tom Brady thinks he has what it takes … well, kind of. Brady, the retired New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers signal caller who is about to join Fox as a broadcaster, went to Paris and got asked in a video for his YouTube channel who would make up a 5-man football team if he could only use USA Basketball players. You can see his answer at the 6:53 mark of the video at the top of this post, but it breaks down like this:

Frankly, I probably would not have Tatum in my team — I’d put Tyrese Haliburton at QB, or I’d put LeBron there and throw Kevin Durant in at receiver — but who am I to argue with Tom Brady about football?

Adele’s banter is unmatched. Anyone attending an Adele concert is guaranteed to hear generational vocals and entertaining opinions. During her current residency in Munich, Germany, Adele has confirmed her engagement to Rich Paul and performed “Chasing Pavements” for the first time in years.

According to a fan-taken video circulated by Pop Crave on X (formerly Twitter), Adele also took time during what appears to be her Wednesday, August 14, show to praise Chappell Roan.

“Chappell Roan is her name, yes?” Adele said. “I heard a song a little while ago at my birthday, and I loved it, and it was one of my friend’s playlists. And then, I went down a rabbit hole on Monday. All day long. She is spectacular, and it turns out, she’s not just got one song. She’s got, like, seven f*cking brilliant songs. I think she’s absolutely amazing. I’m very excited for her, but my friend also said she’s a bit scared. So, do what you gotta do, baby girl, but you’re phenomenal. Anyway, that’s all I’ve done this week is discover Chappell Roan.”

Now, I must know which Chappell Roan played at Adele’s birthday party.

Adele will stage her remaining Munich residency shows on August 16, 23, 24, 30, and 31.

You probably rolled your eyes at this headline. At this point, who wouldn’t? It’s difficult to take any rumor seriously about Rihanna’s ninth album, which would be her first LP since 2016 if it ever arrives, but it’s also worth relaying because any glimmer of hope is better than the deafening possibility that Rihanna might never release another album.

This week, Jack Hardwick of The US Sun reported, “Rihanna’s ninth album is finally on the cusp of being released.”

“I can reveal the ‘Diamonds’ singer is also in talks for a huge world tour throughout 2025, which has the potential to be one of the biggest comebacks of all time,” the tabloid additionally relayed. “But the good news for Rihanna’s fans does not stop there, as I understand she is once again at the top of Glastonbury’s list to headline next summer’s event. She had secretly been booked to perform at Worthy Farm in 2023, but dropped out after becoming pregnant with her second child Riot, with rapper ASAP Rocky.”

Rihanna revealed her second pregnancy while performing the Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show in February 2023. Fans had hoped that Rihanna’s Super Bowl show would act as a launching pad for her desperately awaited return to music.

Drake attended Michael Rubin’s annual Fourth Of July all-white party in The Hamptons, and his presence directly impacted the party’s playlist.

Rubin confirmed to The Breakfast Club that there was truth behind rumors claiming that Kendrick Lamar’s chart-topping Drake diss track “Not Like Us” was not allowed to be played at the party.

“Drake’s my friend for a long time,” Fanatics CEO Rubin said. “I’m not gonna invite him and then have, you know, look, he’s obviously going through a little bit of a battle right now. I’m not gonna have him come there — I just didn’t think it was appropriate. So, I just sent a note, I said, ‘Hey, let’s not play anyone’s music that’s feuding with anyone that’s there.’”

Rubin noted that Drake had not asked Rubin to prevent “Not Like Us” from playing.

“The day before, we had a small barbecue for a few hours that was supposed to be thirty people [but] turned into 200 people for about ten hours,” he added. “That was the pre-game to the white party. When they turned the music on, just like in my house, they put RapCaviar, and ‘Not Like Us’ came on. It was in the middle of ‘Not Like Us.’ I’m like, ‘Get that off! Get that off!’ [Drake] was pulling up soon.”

Elsewhere this week, former US President Barack Obama raised eyebrows by omitting “Not Like Us” from his 2024 summer playlist.

Last month, BigHit Music teased that BTS star Jung Kook would release Jung Kook: I Am Still. The extent of the information provided was, “Coming Soon to Cinemas!”

On Wednesday, August 14, BigHit confirmed that Jung Kook: I Am Still, Jung Kook’s “first official documentary,” will premiere in cinemas worldwide on September 18. The documentary was directed by Junsoo Park, a frequent BTS collaborator.

Billboard posted a video showing Jung Kook announcing the news.

“The film presents exclusive never-before-seen footage and interviews, alongside electrifying live performances that delve into the creative process, unwavering work ethic, and unique challenges faced by a global superstar,” a press release stated, as per Variety. “It offers viewers an intimate look into the journey behind his solo debut that showcased the pinnacle of Jung Kook’s artistry and catapulted him to a global popstar.”

Variety additionally relayed that Big Hit delineated the documentary’s timeline as “beginning around the time Jung Kook released ‘Seven,’ a song featuring the American rapper Latto, in a lead-up to his first solo album, Golden.”

“Seven” dropped in July 2023, and Jung Kook released Golden last November. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

As a group, BTS has been on hiatus since announcing mandated South Korean military service in October 2022.

Emily In Paris is about to bring back questionable life choices and silly fashion back to Netflix, although those things arguably never left the streaming service in the first place. Lily Collins’ baguette-wielding heroine will return following that season finale in which she found out that Hot Chef Gabriel is still smitten with her but unfortunately impregnated Camille. To make matters worse, Camille’s altar-bound outburst dissolved Emily’s relationship with Alfie, which means that everything is perfectly chaotic with a newly single Emily at the start of the fourth season.

I’m not sure how she will cope with this situation since she’s already given herself bangs, but we will soon find out.

When Does Emily In Paris Season 4 Release On Netflix?

The (unfortunately) irresistible Darren Star show returns on Thursday, August 15 and follows the usual Netflix release plan of dropping at 12:00am PST and 3:00am EST.

This season will contain more than mere romantic troubles, however. Mindy will quest for Eurovision, and Emily will also travel outside of France. Perhaps she might even get some work done while helping to expand Savoir, too. What will be different this season, however, is that not everything will be sunshiney because — wait for it — Emily and Gabriel will actually engage in shouting matches. Don’t worry, though. They can’t stay stormy for too long. This isn’t Melrose Place, after all.

With that said, only five episodes will drop on August 15, and the rest of the season will have to wait until September 12. The streaming struggle is real, vous autres.

As the WNBA continues to grow, big league events are becoming a bigger deal for general sports fans. This year’s WNBA All-Star Game in Phoenix was a big draw, helped by the fact that every Olympic year the WNBA has the best All-Star game format of any league, pitting Team USA against the WNBA All-Stars — many of whom feel snubbed by USA Basketball.

That won’t be the case again until 2028, but in 2025 the league will look to continue building on the incredible momentum the league is carrying this year. To do so, they’re going to take All-Star Weekend to Indianapolis for the first time ever, according to ESPN’s Alexa Philippou. The Fever have been part of the WNBA for 25 seasons, but have never played host to All-Star Weekend. That will change next year, as the WNBA world will descend on Indianapolis — a year after they hosted NBA All-Star Weekend.

Beyond being a very good events city, Indianapolis also has become one of the central focuses of the women’s basketball world thanks to the arrival of Caitlin Clark. Clark was one of three All-Stars from the Fever this year, as the 2023 No. 1 pick Aliyah Boston and veteran guard Kelsey Mitchell joined her in Phoenix. The Fever hope to be building off of a potential playoff appearance this year in 2025, and the Indiana faithful will get to show their support for the league as a whole at the All-Star Game.
