On paper, Selena Gomez has it all. She even finally scored an elusive Primetime Emmy nomination for her role in Hulu’s Only Murders In The Building, and she’s attracting Oscar buzz for the upcoming Emilia Pérez. Not to mention, Gomez owns a reported billion-dollar company, Rare Beauty.

But Selena Gomez does not have it all because she is human, and no human has ever had it all.

On Monday morning, September 9, Vanity Fair unveiled Gomez as its October 2024 cover star. The accompanying profile, written by Yohana Desta, contains several revelations about Gomez’s relationship with acting, Benny Blanco, music, and social media, but none more vulnerable than the below.

“I haven’t ever said this, but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children,” Gomez told the publication. “I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while.”

Gomez continued, “It’s not necessarily the way I envisioned it. I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone. [But] I’m in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me. It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. I’m one of those people. I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby.”

Gomez has been publicly transparent about living with lupus since revealing her diagnosis to Billboard in 2015. The chronic autoimmune disease caused Gomez to need a kidney transplant in 2017.

As for becoming a mother, Gomez assured Vanity Fair that she isn’t in a rush. It has been playing on her mind long before she fell in love with Blanco, however.

“I was alone for five years, and I got really used to it,” Gomez told Time earlier this year. “A lot of people are afraid of being alone, and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it. Then I came up with my plan, which was I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone.”

Gomez and Blanco publicly confirmed their relationship last December. Back with Vanity Fair, Gomez shared, “I’ve never been loved this way. He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life. He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything.”

Eminem is tied for the most MTV Video Music Awards in the show’s history (bet you can’t name who he shares the honor with… it’s Peter Gabriel!). This year, he’ll not only seek to get the record all to himself, he’ll also open the show.

The “Somebody Save Me” rapper will kick off the 2024 VMAs with the first TV show performance from his 12th studio album, The Death Of Slim Shady. It’s the first time Eminem has opened the VMAs since 2010, when he performed “Not Afraid,” followed by a duet with Rihanna for “Love The Way You Lie.” No word on whether the Hawk Tuah Girl will make a cameo.

Eminem landed eight nominations this year, including Artist Of The Year and Video Of The Year, Best Hip-Hop, Best Direction, and Best Visual Effects, all for “Houdini.” He’s also up for VMAs Most Iconic Performance for his “The Real Slim Shady” / “The Way I Am” medley at the 2000 ceremony.

The 2024 MTV Music Video Awards air on Wednesday, September 11, at 8 p.m. ET.

A pair of players were sent to the locker room early after a fight during Sunday afternoon’s game between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Las Vegas Raiders. The pair of AFC West opponents played a testy game in Week 1 — their first since an emphatic Raiders win late last season that led to Brandon Staley getting fired — and late in the fourth quarter, tension boiled over.

Justin Herbert found rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey for a touchdown to make it 22-10, and the Chargers decided to go for two. Their effort was stuffed, but while that was happening, things spilled out into the back of the end zone, where players for both teams got into it with one another. And despite the fact that the referees tried to break things up, there was plenty of pushing and shoving between the two sides.

After the officials took some time to review what happened, Raiders cornerback Jack Jones and Chargers receiver Josh Palmer were hit with offsetting unsportsmanlike penalties and ejected. As for how the remainder of the game went, the Raiders threw an interception on the ensuing possession, which led to Herbert taking knees to run down the clock and Jim Harbaugh moving to 1-0 in his return to the NFL.

The Golden State Warriors lost a member of their core this offseason when Klay Thompson left the team to join the Dallas Mavericks. Thompson spent last year playing on an expiring contract, and upon hitting free agency, he agreed to a deal with Dallas and joined the franchise via a sign-and-trade.

It’s such a strange thing to imagine — the thought of Thompson suiting up for anyone other than the Warriors is pretty weird — but sooner rather than later, we’ll see Thompson take the floor alongside Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and co. In the meantime, Thompson is getting to know another one of his new teammates, as he took in Sunday’s New York Liberty and Las Vegas Aces game with Dereck Lively. The catch: Steph Curry was also at this game, and when the three ran into one another, Curry gave Thompson a bit of a hard time.

Curry is, of course, doing this lovingly, but he does a very good job making the disgust in his voice seem real as he goes “eew!” In fairness, if Curry is simply unable to wrap his mind around the fact that Thompson is on the Mavs now, well, I can’t blame him one bit.

Apple Music Super Bowl 2025 Halftime Show is already facing backlash. Today (September 8), Kendrick Lamar was announced as the show’s featured performer. Given the chart-topping year Kendrick has had and his victory in the Drake beef, you’d think the public would rally behind the choice. However, this not the case for one understandable reason—its location.

Next year, the big game is heading to New Orleans. Based on the alone hip-hop heads assumed Lil Wayne was a sure in, which included his longtime engineer Fabian Marasciullo. Well, not Jay-Z. Thanks to his role as the NFL’s music strategist and the Roc Nation partnership with the league, he’s opinion far outweighs the public. In a statement, Jay-Z stood by Kendrick Lamar’s selection.

“Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer,” he said. “His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”

Jay-Z isn’t alone. Former Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner, Rihanna, subtly showed her support by liking Kendrick’s reveal post on Instagram.

Contrarily, Master P agreed with users online’s sentiments urging that Lil Wayne be considered for the slot.

“As Ambassador of Entertainment in the City of New Orleans I have to agree with the fans that Lil Wayne should be a part of this celebration as well,” he wrote. “He’s one of the greatest hip-hop artists alive, still relevant and he’s a New Orleans native. Let’s not miss this cultural moment in the South. Life is too short! We have to give our legends their flowers while they are here.”

The show isn’t set until February 2025, so this saga is far from over.

Thanks to years of fans begging, a sharp speech from The 1975’s Matty Healy, and reportedly a hefty payday Oasis is finally reuniting.

So far, the band has only announced a string of 2025 reunion shows across England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland (a.k.a. Oasis Live ’25). Anything else you’ve read online is merely fan-fueled rumors. However, Liam Gallagher seemingly confirmed that Oasis’ revival will include a comeback album.

Last month, users dug old posts from Liam hinting that something was in the works. But, folks took it with a grain of salt. Yesterday (September 7), during an exchange with a supporter on X (formerly Twitter), Liam confirmed that Oasis will solidify their reformation with a new body of work.

When asked about the new album rumors by the user, Liam simply replied: “Yep it’s already finished.”

Well, one user didn’t believe him so they pushed the matter, asking for further clarity. “In the air,” wrote the user to which Liam answered: “It’s in the bag mate f*ck the air.”

When asked to describe the unreleased project in one word, Liam chimed: “TURDOS.”

If the rock gods are truly on Oasis fans’ side, then the studio album will make the band’s first original release since 2008’s Dig Out Your Soul.

The Miami Dolphins season did not get off to the best of starts in Week 1. Just over two hours prior to kickoff in Miami, Tyreek Hill was detained by police just outside the stadium after he was cited with reckless driving on his way to the game and put in handcuffs after an alleged verbal altercation with police.

Then, once the game started, the Dolphins got off to a slow start against the Jaguars, falling behind 17-7 at the half and it looked as though they’d be down 24-7 late in the third quarter as Jacksonville was driving deep in Miami territory. However, Travis Etienne got the ball punched out of his arms just shy of the goal line, with the Dolphins recovering it in the end zone to give them a bit of life.

They quickly capitalized on the ensuing drive when Tua Tagovailoa found Hill down the sideline and he outran every angle by the Jags secondary to take it to the house for an 80-yard touchdown to cut the deficit to just three.

CBS quickly cut away from Hill’s celebration, which was likely on purpose, but Hill mimicked getting put in handcuffs as his celebration, with Jaylen Waddle pretending to have the keys to get him out.

That felt like a lock if Hill scored a TD on Sunday, and he and the Dolphins did not let the opportunity to have some fun with his pregame incident go. The videos of the incident from fans driving by showed the officers being quite forceful with Hill, and Miami PD has already announced they’re investigating the incident and will review body camera footage.

Usually this early into the NFL season, diehard football fanatics debate which team will go all the way. Well, this year things are a bit different. Instead of sports fans nearly coming to blows over their favorite franchise, it is the music fans popping off.

Today (September 8), Kendrick Lamar announced that he would perform at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show. While users online, including Lil Wayne’s longtime engineer Fabian Marasciullo, weren’t a fan of his selection, he did receive one notable co-sign. Over on Instagram, Rihanna showed her support of Kendrick Lamar by liking his reveal post (viewable here).

As the record-breaking headliner for Super Bowl 2023, Rihanna knows a thing or two about the football’s biggest stage. Still, users online are not buckling from their stance.

Many pointed about that the coveted show tapped Usher for Super Bowl 2024’s Halftime Show following his groundbreaking dominance in Las Vegas. Since, Super Bowl 2025 in New Orleans, Lil Wayne should’ve been selected for the slot. Back February, during an appearance on YG and Stevie’s 4HUNNID podcast, Lil Wayne made it crystal clear that he would be down if asked. He also expressed how sentimental the moment would be giving that NOLA is his hometown and where his career started by way of the Hot Boys.

The NFL is officially back. It is next to impossible to predict which franchise will play in the championship game. However, music fans already know what to look forward to for Super Bowl 2025’s Halftime Show in New Orleans.

Today (September 8), Kendrick Lamar announced that he would perform during the highly watched television performance. Initially, users online were excited to read the news. However, other quickly chimed in to express their frustration over hometown hero Lil Wayne being overlooked despite publically entering his bid.

Lil Wayne’s longtime engineer and friend, Fabian Marasciullo took to his Instagram Stories to voiced his displeasure. “Confused,” he wrote. “Disappointed. Angry. But most of all, inspired.”

He went on to seemingly shade Kendrick Lamar, writing: “Will never again be in a position or have the GOAT [Lil Wayne] in a position where we are at the mercy of someone else’s decision. We will make the decisions.”

Rumors about Super Bowl 2025’s Halftime Show performers have been floating around online for months. At one point, pop stars Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift were supposedly in talks with the NFL to secure the spot. The public now knows that to be seemingly false.

Although Kendrick Lamar is set to take the stage, maybe he will bring Lil Wayne out. They do have a collaborative track (“Mona Lisa”) together, but given Lil Wayne’s close affiliation with Drake users doubt that would happen due to their heated beef on wax this summer alone.

The Indianapolis Colts are a team that hopes to crash the NFL playoff party this year, as they came close to reaching the postseason last year with Gardner Minshew finishing the year under center for them.

A lot of the optimism in Indianapolis revolves around Anthony Richardson’s return from a shoulder injury that ended his season prematurely as a rookie, after he showed flashes of brilliance in his four starts before a hit on a scramble ended his year. The first round pick out of Florida has all the tools to be a terrific quarterback, but has very little in terms of game reps, even going back to college, so the Colts just want to see what he can be for a full season.

The early returns in Week 1 are very good for Richardson’s sophomore campaign, as he authored one of the best throws you will ever see in the first quarter of their opener against divisional rival Houston, connecting with Alec Pierce on a 60-yard touchdown bomb that traveled that entire distance in the air.

It’d be an outrageous throw under any circumstance, but Richardson slips in the pocket and does this just after resetting his feet with the pocket collapsing into him, putting it on an absolute dime to Pierce, who catches it in stride on the goal line. There will be ups and downs, as happens with any young quarterback, but throws like this are why the Colts believe Richardson can be their franchise centerpiece.
