Hip-hop’s legendary trio Fugees are no stranger to internal conflict. However, lately members Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras Michel appeared to on good terms.

Well, that was until Lauryn Hill’s The Miseducation Anniversary Tour with Fugees was abruptly cancelled. Now, Pras Michel filed a lawsuit against Miss Hill and in it are several interesting accusations.

Continue below for more details.

Were Lauryn Hill And Wyclef Jean Ever Married?

According to supposed paperwork (viewable here) linked to Pras Michel, the answer is yes. But nothing to substantiate this claim has been found. In the alleged lawsuit documents against Hill, he Pras identified Wyclef as Hill’s “former husband.”

Read the passage from the supposed filing below.

With the walls closing in on Michel by mid-2023, Hill saw an opportunity and swooped in to purportedly ‘save the day’ for Michel, enlisting the unwitting aide of her former husband, Wyclef, to put together a Fugees tour for the second half of 2023 using independent live music concert promoter Mammoth, Inc.

Although Wyclef Jean claimed he dated Miss Hill within his 2012 autobiography, Purpose, he never mentioned being legally married to her.

For 13 years, Lauryn Hill was in a relationship with Rohan Marley, whom she shares five children Zion David, Selah, Joshua Omaru (better known as YG Marley), John Nesta, and Sara. The two reportedly ended things in 2009.

Wyclef, on the other hand, has been married to designer Marie Claudinette since 1994. They share one adoptive daughter, Angelina Claudinelle Jean. During the couple’s appearance on OWN’s Behind Every Man, Marie revealed that she never married another person. But Wyclef never mentioned anything similar.

The Lynx Rode Their Stout Defense To A Game 2 Win Over The Sun

While one WNBA semifinal is trending towards a sweep, the other is guaranteed to go no fewer than four games. After the Connecticut Sun walked into the Target Center during Game 1 of their series against the Minnesota Lynx, all eyes were on whether or not the Sun would return to their building with a chance to pick up a sweep. Instead, behind a stout defensive effort, Minnesota was able to pick up a 77-70 win to tie up the series at one game each.

The two best defenses in the WNBA showed off their ability to put the clamps on their opponents in the first half. It was a low-scoring affair, particularly at the end of the first quarter, when Minnesota held onto a 12-10 lead — neither team scored from the field until the 6:22 mark of the period, when Courtney Williams converted a layup.

While both teams were able to find their footing a bit on the offensive end in the second quarter, neither side let their tenacity slip one bit on defense. By the time the horn went off and sent each team to the locker room for halftime, the Lynx held onto a 36-30 lead, in large part because the Sun especially struggled to score, going 10-for-35 (28.6 percent) from the field and 3-for-11 (27.3 percent) from behind the three-point line.

Right out of the gates in the third quarter, Minnesota looked like it was putting together the run that would carry it to a tied series. The team came roaring out of the halftime locker room, going on a 7-0 run that ignited the crowd at the Target Center and opened up their lead to 13.

It helped Minnesota that Courtney Williams caught fire in the third, as she scored 11 of her 17 points in the frame — including nine in a row for the Lynx at one point. Still, a quick, 7-2 burst at the very end of the third meant that Connecticut kept Minnesota from going into the fourth quarter sitting on a double-digit lead, and instead, the Lynx were up 58-49 heading into the final 10 minutes of the evening.

Once again, a run at the start of the quarter helped Minnesota take control and build up a lead that looked to be insurmountable. Thanks to an 8-2 run at the beginning of the fourth, the Lynx were able to extend their lead to as many as 15 points, which looked like it was going to be more than enough considering the way their defense played.

The lead never got to be fewer than seven points, and on the rare instances when it looked like Connecticut was starting to get something going, Minnesota was able to turn to Williams and co. for a well-timed bucket that kept them from getting any closer.

Williams’ 17 points, five rebounds, and four assists led the way for Minnesota, while Alanna Smith chipped in 15. While Napheesa Collier struggled to score, going for nine points on 3-for-14 shooting, her impact was felt elsewhere, as she had 12 rebounds, five assists, and four blocks. For Connecticut, Alyssa Thomas was as good as ever with 18 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, and two steals, while DeWanna Bonner (17 points), Marina Mabrey (15 points), and Dijonai Carrington (14 points) all scored in double-figures. Still, as a team, the Sun struggled to figure out Minnesota’s defense, as they went 24-for-66 (36.4 percent) from the field.

With the series evened up, the two teams will now head to Mohegan Sun Arena for Games 3 and 4, as this will officially be the only series in the postseason to this point that is guaranteed to not be a sweep. Game 3 between the Sun and the Lynx will take place on Friday, Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

Both attorneys say these alleged victims were also in contact with several law enforcement authorities, including the FBI.

Van Arsdale went on to discuss the reason for the potential influx of filings. “They’re coming forward now because they finally feel a bit safer that he’s behind bars,” he said. “His influence and control over their livelihood and maybe physical health is waning, and so they’re coming forward in the numbers they are.”

The Liberty Moved One Win Away From The WNBA Finals With A Game 2 Victory Over The Aces

The New York Liberty are one win away from avenging their loss in the 2023 WNBA Finals, and in turn, are on the verge of competing in the Finals this year. New York played host to the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday night at the Barclays Center and picked up an 88-84 win to take a commanding, 2-0 series lead in their semifinal series.

Despite the fact that Kelsey Plum picked up a pair of fouls in the opening two minutes, the first quarter was a back-and-forth affair. With Plum on the bench and A’ja Wilson not getting going as a scorer, the trio of Alysha Clark, Chelsea Gray, and Jackie Young were able to shoulder the load on that end of the floor, and opened up a lead of as many as eight in the first.

But in the second, the Liberty were able to take control, in large part due to their ability to score inside. Twenty-eight of their 46 points in the first half came in the paint, whether it was off of turnovers by the Aces or their ability to get to the rim in the halfcourt. This helped them withstand a great half from behind the three-point line by Las Vegas, which went 7-for-14 from deep.

Between their interior scoring and a balanced effort that saw five players score seven or more points — Kayla Thornton came off the bench and led the way with nine — New York was able to head into the locker room with a 46-40 lead.

While New York opened the third quarter on a 7-2 run and opened its lead up to as many as 10 points, the team was unable to go on the sort of run that would completely put the Aces away. While Las Vegas couldn’t quite get within arm’s reach — the Liberty lead never got to be fewer than four points — Wilson was able to get going, as her six points in the third matched her total from the first half.

Still, New York showed off its remarkable balance and was able to remain in the driver’s seat, whether that was due to its shooting or its ability to get looks at the rim. By the time the quarter ended, the Liberty had narrowly extended the lead that they took into halftime, as they were up, 69-62.

Early on in the fourth, Las Vegas kept getting close, but New York always seemed to have an answer. When the Aces got the lead down to three at the very start of the period, the Liberty came right back and scored four points in a row. When the lead got down to two midway through the frame, New York were able to get the margin back up to five.

But the Aces kept chipping away and getting close, and with just over 90 seconds left, Tiffany Hayes found Clark in the corner for a triple to tie things up at 81.

On the ensuing possession, New York put the ball in Sabrina Ionescu’s hands and let her go to work, with that faith in her paying off when Ionescu hit a shot from midrange.

A pair of misses by Wilson and Ionescu gave the ball back to Vegas with a chance to tie it up, and while Wilson couldn’t convert a difficult layup, the ensuing scramble led to a jump ball. The Aces won it and Hayes drew a foul, but she split the free throws and opened the door for the Liberty to go up by three after Ionescu was fouled and sent to the charity stripe … only for Ionescu to split her free throws, as well.

Las Vegas advanced the ball into their half after this, but struggled to get the ball in. While Plum came to get it, Leonie Fiebich was able to disrupt the inbound enough, and as a result, the ball bounced off of Plum’s shoulder, went out of bounds, and gave possession back to New York, which got the ball into Ionescu’s hands and watched as she hit a pair of free throws to help ice the game.

Ionescu’s 24 points, nine rebounds, and five assists led the way for New York, while Breanna Stewart likewise stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, right assists, and seven rebounds. Jonquel Jones didn’t quite record a double-double — which is usually a good sign for the Liberty’s chances of picking up a win — but she did go for 14 points and eight boards. As for the Aces, five players scored in double-figures, with Wilson unsurprisingly leading the way with 24 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.

While the Aces are now one loss away from elimination, they can take solace in knowing that the series is shifting to Las Vegas. Game 3 between the Aces and the Liberty will take place on Friday, Oct. 4 at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

Who Will Be On Charli XCX’s ‘BRAT’ Remix Album?

charli xcx
Getty Image

Early this week, Charli XCX fans began speculating about who she’s working with on a remixed version of her intensely viral summer hit album, Brat. The speculation began when Brat-themed billboards began popping up in major cities. Charli herself had previously teased some kind of additional release “in the bratosphere,” and while she previously denied the probability of a remix album, she also notoriously said, “Lying is so fun, so brat,” so anything she tells the press ought to be taken with a grain of salt.

With that being said, who all is rumored to be on the Brat remix album?

According to Rolling Stone, the names that have seemingly been confirmed for inclusion include: Bon Iver, whose billboard was seen in the rocker’s hometown, Minneapolis, and Tinashe. Meanwhile, Troye Sivan, with whom Charli already released a “Talk Talk” remix; Billie Eilish, who appears in the underwear-themed “Guess” video; and Lorde, who popped up on “Girl, So Confusing“; have already been released or confirmed, along with Addison Rae and EDM icon Robyn.

The new version of the album is a two-disc release, featuring Charli’s recent remixes and a second version of the tracklist of Brat And It’s The Same But There’s Three More Songs So It’s Not.

Brat And It’s Completely Different But Also Still Brat is out 10/11 via Atlantic. Find more information here.
