Natanael Cano And Junior H’s Label Accuses Rolling Loud California Of Being ‘Racist’ After The Acts Were Removed From The Lineup

Rolling Loud California 2024’s lineup has been reduced by two major international acts. Although the multiday event features headliners Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, Future, and Metro Boomin, several special guests were slated to hit the main stage.

Today (March 11), Rancho Humilde CEO Jimmy Humilde revealed that its artists Natanael Cano and Junior H would no longer perform at the show as previously promoted (Cano on Friday, March 15, and Junior on Sunday, March 17). In a post shared on Humilde’s official Instagram page, the label executive accused the organizers of being racist.

“Rolling Loud canceled us last minute,” he wrote. “And what’s crazy is that the majority of ticket buyers are Raza! They f*cked with the wrong fool.”

However, in a statement shared exclusively with Rolling Stone, a representative for Rolling Loud refuted the claim. “Unfortunately, Natanael Cano and Junior H will not be performing at Rolling Loud California 2024,” the representative said. “Natanael Cano did not obtain the necessary work permits or visas to enable him to perform at the festival. Junior H will not be performing due to several breaches of contract, including the festival’s radius terms.”

This isn’t the first lineup hiccup Rolling Loud California 2024 has faced. When the event was initially unveiled, Lil Uzi Vert’s name appeared on the official flyer. Immediately after sharing the promotional graphic, Lil Uzi Vert stated that they were not performing at the festival. Shortly after, Future and Metro Boomin signed on as Sunday’s headliners.

Jon Stewart Found The One Whopper In Katie Britt’s Creepy SOTU Rebuttal That Few Are Talking About

Since Katie Britt’s instant classic horror show of a State of the Union rebuttal on Thursday, everyone’s taken their turn dragging it. Colin Jost not only torched it on SNL‘s Weekend Update, he even coaxed his Oscar-nominated actress wife to play her in the Cold Open. By the time Jon Stewart’s weekly Monday stint on The Daily Show rolled around, he had to find a new angle of attack. And indeed he did.

In his latest opening monologue, Stewart singled out a moment that had been talked about but not in a certain way. It was when Britt hammily claimed that the Republican party, specifically the one consumed by MAGA, was “steeped in the blood of patriots,” namely the Founding Fathers.

After making light of Britt saying “steeped in the blood of patriots” while smiling, Stewart got to the heart of the matter. “This is just one more entry in the Republican mythology that they are the inheritors of the American Revolutionary tradition — that they somehow are more American-y than non-Republican Americans,” he said.

Republicans may tout that they are the “party of the Constitution,” complete with buses draped in the document. But, Stewart argued, that’s not terribly convincing when they’ve turned the party over to Donald Trump. He then laid out some ways he’s not so Constitution-y:

  • He’s the guy who thinks the president should be above the law.
  • He’s the guy who wants to shred the First Amendment for journalists, threatening jail time — where, Trump threatened, they’d become “the bride of another prisoner” — if they don’t reveal leakers.
  • He’s the guy who wants to shoot protesters protesting, thus ignoring the right to assembly.
  • He’s the guy who want to shoot looters on-site, thus ignoring due process.
  • He’s the guy who has straight-up said he’d be a “dictator” on day one.

“Look, if you want to love Trump, love him,” Stewat said. “You want to give him absolute power? You want to make him leader uber alles? You want him to have the right of kings? You do you. But stop framing it as patriotism. Because the one thing you cannot say is that Donald Trump is following the tradition of the Founders. He is advocating for complete and total presidential immunity — his words, not mine. That is monarchy sh*t.”

Luke Combs Got So Upset About The Brian Burns Trade That He Tweeted ‘WHAT ARE WE DOING?!?!?’ At The Panthers

Luke Combs CMA Fest 2023
Getty Image

The Carolina Panthers are no strangers to trading their best player, and on Monday, they went back to that well. After turning down opportunities to move him in the past, Carolina sent standout pass rusher Brian Burns to the New York Giants for a 2024 second-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick, along with a swap of fifth-round selections in 2024. Burns then cashed in, getting a $150 million deal from New York with $87.75 million guaranteed.

The Panthers were the worst team in the NFL last year, so seeing a player of Burns’ quality leave for a relatively meager return is a tough pill to swallow. And one of the most prominent Carolina football fans out there, country star Luke Combs, got so upset about the whole thing that he actually tweeted his frustration at the team, calling their process “slow torture.”

Getting as early of a pick as possible in the 2024 NFL Draft was certainly important for the Panthers in this deal, as the team doesn’t have its first-round pick this year — they gave that up last year to acquire the No. 1 pick and select Bryce Young. If there is a silver lining, it’s that the pick the team got back for Burns is 39th overall, which should put Carolina in prime position to grab a highly-regarded player in the second round. Whether that player is part of a rebuild that makes Combs a little more optimistic about the team going forward remains to be seen.

A Boeing Whistleblower Has Been Found Dead Mere Days After Delivering Testimony

boeing2-uproxx.jpg
Uproxx/Boeing

Boeing used to be the Rolls Royce of commercial aircrafts. That reputation has plummeted in the last couple decades, with freak accidents, mass groundings, even crashes eroding consumer faith in the safety of their aircraft. A former employee was even recently taking part in testimony about cut corners and sub-standard parts. On Monday, it was reported that this whistleblower had suddenly died.

According to the BBC, John Barnett, who worked for Boeing for 32 years, was found dead on March 9 of a “self-inflicted” wound. He was 62. Mere days before his death he had taken part in a formal deposition, in which provided evidence in a lawsuit against the company. He was supposed to appear again on Saturday, but when he didn’t show up, officials visited his hotel.

Barnett, who retired in 2017, had worked as a quality manager in a North Charleston plant that produced the 787 Dreamliner, which was mainly used on long-haul routes. He’d been public about the horrors he endured there. In 2019 he told the BBC that the push to get new aircraft built had led to a rushed assembly process that compromised safety.

Here are some of Barnett’s allegations, per the BBC:

He later told the BBC that workers had failed to follow procedures intended to track components through the factory, allowing defective components to go missing.

He said in some cases, sub-standard parts had even been removed from scrap bins and fitted to planes that were being built to prevent delays on the production line.

He also claimed that tests on emergency oxygen systems due to be fitted to the 787 showed a failure rate of 25%, meaning that one in four could fail to deploy in a real-life emergency.

Mr Barnett said he had alerted managers to his concerns, but no action had been taken.

Boeing always denied Barnett’s allegations, though a review by regulators in 2017 backed up some of his claims.

Barnett’s death comes amidst increasing worry about the safety of Boeing’s aircraft. Earlier this year an unused emergency exit door to an Alaska airline Boeing blew off shortly after take-off. Sunday, meanwhile, was the fifth anniversary of a fatal 737 Max crash that led to 157 casualties. John Oliver dedicated the better part of a recent episode of Last Week Tonight to Boeing’s fall from grace, which he blamed on a shift of leadership and a profit-over-safety mentality. They also got screwed over by no less than Donald Trump.

Chance The Rapper And Denzel Curry Pay Tribute To ‘Dragon Ball’ Creator Akira Toriyama Following His Death

Rappers’ love for manga runs deep. So when news that Akira Toriyama, the creator of the beloved series Dragon Ball, died was released online, it shocked the music world. Since the announcement back on March 7, fans around the globe have poured out their love for Toriyama’s work online.

A few of those lifelong supporters included rappers Chance The Rapper and Denzel Curry. The news left The Voice judge and “Yah Know” rapper lost for words. In a gallery uploaded to his official Instagram page, the rapper couldn’t string together a message profound enough to express his sorrow. Instead, he used an array of tearful video clips blended with a few screenshots of the series’ many forms (video games, TV shows, and comics) to speak for him. Within the assortment, Chance included an image of the late visual artist.

On the other hand, Curry penned a lengthy note in his Instagram Stories (captured by HipHopDX, a fellow subsidiary of Warner Music Group) to pay tribute to the Manga legend.

“Akira Toriyama’s work has inspired me to be the best artist I can be,” he wrote. “Growing up in Carol City [, Florida] with a house full of brothers, his work was always something me and my siblings bonded over. His work on ‘Dragon Ball,’ ‘Dragon Ball Z,’ ‘GT,’ and ‘Super’ made me want to be the best version of myself because Goku was the person that kids looked up to.”

Tributes will continue to pour in from musicians.

Toriyama’s cause of death has not been officially announced. However, according to a fan page, the 68-year-old officially passed away on March 1 as the result of acute subdural hematoma.

Mom shares idea for a Forever 41 for Millennials and people think it’s brilliant

There’s something that happens after you reach a certain age. It’s almost like you’re back to being stuck in between the aisles of your favorite department store. You no longer feel comfortable in the juniors section of the store but the other side of the aisle can sometimes feel a bit too mature.

If you’re not quite ready for fully elastic waisted polyester pants but are way too old to feel comfortable wearing a shirt that’s missing random patches of material, then Forever 41 may be the store for you. At least that’s if Tara Joon gets her way.

The mom took to social media to propose the store idea geared towards Millennial women. There’s already a store called Forever 21, which has clothes for…well, people much closer to 21.

Forever 41 would cater to women in their 40s and it honestly sounds like dream that should absolutely become a reality, especially if Joon’s suggestions are realized.

“We need a store called, Forever 41! Where they play the 90s music, free coffee and snacks all around the store. They should have in house therapists near the fitting area for crisis counseling at all times. They should have a bin for portable fans for all of us that are perimenopausal,” Joon says.

Joon isn’t alone in her desire to have a store specifically designed for middle aged women. There were several commenters giving suggestions on what else should be included.

“How about shirts that are actually long enough to reach the top of my hips? Is that too much to ask, fashion industry?!?!,” one person writes.

“We need the firemen to be complimentary. They give you a compliment as you walk in,” another says.

“I also want this as a club. Everybody wears 90s clothes and or prom dresses, and every night at the end of the night they play ‘Closing Time’ at last call,” someone adds.

“Can they play the music at a level we can talk over too. It sounds perfect,” another person suggests.

Maybe this idea will take off and there will be a Forever 41 opening near you. If they throw in a babysitting area, you’d never get moms to leave that store. Listen to the rest of her brilliant idea below.

@thereal.tarajoon Forver 41 🤩 What else would you like the store to have? Please share! #forever41 #momlife #tiktokvidcon ♬ original sound – Tara Joon
