Notably, nominees who won’t be inducted this year are Phish, Mariah Carey, Oasis, Joy Division/New Order, Black Crowes, Billy Idol, and Maná.
This comes shortly after it was revealed Phish won the fan vote pretty easily, but the fan vote is more ceremonial than anything, as it has very little influence over the overall outcome.
Meanwhile, in February, Liam Gallagher tweeted, “RNR hall of fame is for WANKERS.” A user responded, “What are you gonna do if you win,” and Gallagher replied, “Obv go and say it’s the best thing EVER.” In another tweet, he wrote, “I’m gonna go and pick up the award and say I’ll let you off this is a wonderful honour and id like to thank all of the GODS starting with MYSELF.”

The Walk of Fame Producer Ana Martinez released a statement celebrating the band’s milestone. “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is honored to welcome Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool to the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” said Martinez. “Green Day’s music has not only inspired generations but also served as the soundtrack to our lives. Honoring them with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a token of our appreciation for their incredible contributions to the world of music.”
Serena Williams and Ryan Reynolds are confirmed as guest speakers at Green Day’s ceremony. Award-Winning radio and television personality Matt Pinfield is set to serve as the day’s official emcee.

The weather is beginning to break around the country. With sunshine and fun times on the horizon, this would be an ideal transition into Brat summer. However, according to Charli XCX’s closing Coachella 2025 set she is passing that torch off to others entertainers. But the “Von Dutch” singer seems to be ready to walk that decision back.
Today (April 27), a TikTok video (viewable here) of Charli XCX suggests that a Brat summer isn’t completely out of the question. “Yesterday I made this Tiktok about, ‘Summer again?’ And I was kind of joking but also maybe serious,” she opens the clip. “I don’t know. Um, but it got me thinking about it is really hard to let go of ‘Brat,’ and let go of this thing that is so inherently me, and become my entire life.”
Then Charli taps into her inner contrarian. “You know? I started thinking about culture and the ebbs and flows of the lifespan of things. Then how when you get a level of success you can become oversaturated and then people want you to disappear–which I understand, and I am sort of a believer in that,” she says. “I think it allows artists to retain their cool when they are so in everyone’s faces then they vanish. But I am also interested in the tension of staying too long. I find that quite fascinating in what that does.”
Charli adds: “But yeah, it’s obviously hard to just be like, ‘Ok. It’s over now.’ I kind of want it to go on and on and one because it is who I am. I’ve been thinking about ‘Brat’ long before the record came out. I’ve sat here on my own for two year prior thinking about how I’m going to communicate this record to the world. Not just the music but the whole visual identity of the album.”
With several dates remaining on Charli XCX’s 2025 Brat Tour US leg fans are holding out hopes.
Yesterday (April 26), Jelly Roll made his joyous return to Stagecoach. The “I Am Not Okay” musician’s career has rapidly expanded since his 2024 billed appearance. But his headlining Stagecoach 2025 set plainly laid out all the ways he has professional grown.
Country music fans roughed it in the California desert to experience Jelly Roll live before The Big Ass Stadium Tour and so he pulled out all the stops for festivalgoers. Many expected a surprise cameo from his road mate Post Malone, after Jelly Roll joined him at Coachella 2025. But, Jelly Roll had something else up his flannel sleeve. Jelly Roll’s Stagecoach 2025 performance featured guest appearances by Lana Del Rey, MGK, Jessie Murph, Brandon Lake, Shaboozey, Alex Warren, BigXThaPlug, and Wiz Khalifa.
Lana Del Rey joined Jelly Roll for a duet (viewable here) of his track, “Save Me,” which was originally featured Lainey Wilson.
Jelly Roll’s debuts did not end there. His was later joined by past collaborators MGK, Jessie Murph, Brandon Lake, and Shaboozey, and for magically live renditions of their respective tunes.
Alongside his friend MGK, Jelly Roll performed their record “Lonely Road” (viewable here). He then gave the stage to MGK for a solo performance of “My Ex’s Best Friend” (viewable here). MGK claimed to have been banned from Coachella, standing on the famous Empire Polo Club grounds must have been bittersweet.

Country music fans’ boots are on the Empire Polo Club grounds for Stagecoach 2025. The three-day outdoor festival’s offering was filled with the genre’s biggest names and rising stars. This was the main takeaway from headliner Zach Bryan’s set.
Instead of bringing out one of his superstar collaborators, the “Blue Jean Baby” singer brought out a longtime supporter for a surprise duet–Willow Avalon.
Back in 2023, Avalon covered his song “I Remember Everything” with Kacey Musgraves. Given supporters’ past reaction to the clip, the pair decided to give fans an official live rendition (viewable here).
“A cold shoulder at closing time / You were begging me to stay ’til the sun rose / Strange words come on out / Of a grown man’s mouth when his mind’s broke,” sang Zach.
He invited the crowd in to belt the line: “Pictures and passin’ time / You only smile like that when you’re drinking.”
Zach took back control, singing: “I wish I didn’t, but I do / Remember every moment on the nights with you.”
Willow Avalon chimed in, harmonizing: “You’re drinkin’ everything to ease your mind / But when the hell are you gonna ease mine? / You’re like concrete feet in the summer heat / That burns like hell when two soles meet.”
The duo’s duet earned raved reviews from folks at the festival and users online. But for Avalon the moment meant so much more. She took to Instagram thanking Zach Bryan for inviting her to share the stage with him
“I covered this song two years ago, and last night Zach Bryan and I sang it together to close out stagecoach,” she wrote. “What a dream, life isn’t real y’all.”

The onstage confession took festivalgoers for a loop. But she insisted that details of their seemingly brief entanglement would remain between them. “This is the last time I’m ever going to say this line,” she continued.
However, based on the previous working title of her next project (The Right Person Will Stay) and her concluding line, Lana and Morgan’s fling was not filled with good memories
“Now I got a man, he really loves me… A fan of mine,” said Lana seemingly referring to her husband Jeremy Dufrene in the crowd.
Morgan Wallen has not issued a response to Lana’s lyric. Now, fans are camped out in his social media pages’ comment section begging for him to address the matter.
Whelp, the wait is almost officially over. To give fans one final teaser bang before her set, today (April 27), Beyoncé shared a birds-eye view of the Cowboy Carter Tour production setup. In the video posted on Instagram (viewable here), a camera makes its way through Inglewood, California’s SoFi Stadium. Although the clip is filtered in grayscale, the various hues of black seem to suggest a vibrant set design.
“She coming,” Beyoncé captioned the visual.
As crew transports pieces across the ground floor, it is clear Buckin’ Honey Pit, Sweet Honey Pit, and Club Ho-Down ticket holders are in for a good ‘ole foot stomping time.
But the clip shows that even those in the upper levels are guaranteed a direct sight line to the shindig. Good news, Dexter aficionados: the franchise is officially out of control.
Eight seasons of the original series were survived by Dexter: New Blood, which was supposedly the end, but Dexter Morgan somehow survived again to cameo his way into Dexter: Original Sin, which introduced the younger serial killer during the formation of his Code. That wasn’t enough.
Dexter: Resurrection is currently filming with Michael C. Hall and a bevy of original cast members, including James Remar (as Harry), David Zayas (as Angel Batista), and John Lithgow (as Arthur Mitchell, the Trinity Killer). What? Yes, Arthur will not only be back in that sequel, but he is going to receive his own prequel spin off. Let’s look at the evidence on what to expect.
Plot
Specific plot details are under wraps, and we can guess that the vibe will be similar to Original Sin but focused primarily on the Trinity Killer’s earlier crimes. As his nickname suggests, he killed in threes and amassed hundreds of victims throughout the U.S., so there should be no shortage of material for at least a season. The prequel will also presumably bounce off whatever transpires with Arthur Mitchell’s appearance in Dexter: Resurrection. Notably, Lithgow has revealed the Trinity Killer, a fourth-season antagonist whose arc reverberated beyond his physical appearance, did not die despite Dexter apparently bludgeoning the life out of him with a hammer.
Sure, that doesn’t seem possible, but Lithgow informed Variety, “I just went back to do a day,” and “it turns out he didn’t die after all. I come back sort of as a phantom, as he gradually comes to life on a hospital bed.” Oh, just roll with it. That will also happen in a cast that includes Krysten Ritter, David Dastmalchian, Peter Dinklage, and Uma Thurman, in addition to Michael C. Hall and the returning cast members mentioned above.
Maybe in Resurrection, Dexter can get the job done this time on killing Arthur Mitchell, and then, it’s back to his origin story with the next prequel series, which is already scripted. Last December, universe architect Clyde Phillips revealed (as reported by Deadline) that Lithgow will lend his voice:
“We wrote the entire Trinity Killer series. At the moment, it is on the back burner. John Lithgow has agreed to be the voice of his younger self the way Michael Hall is doing for [Original Sin]. There’s that and we’re doing another show with Michael C. Hall, [Resurrection]… We were writing that while shooting Original Sin, so that’s fairly busy. We begin shooting [Resurrection] in January and it will air in June 2025.”
Lithgow, however, dodged the question on whether he’ll narrate while speaking with Screenrant. He did offer a suggestion to the mystery actor filling Trinity’s younger shoes: “Just be on his side. [Laughs] Not an easy thing to do, with the Trinity Killer, but be on his side.”
Cast
Showtime hasn’t yet revealed who will portray the younger Arthur Mitchell, and surely, Lithgow will monologue, although no word has surfaced on whether he will cameo like Michael C. Hall did for Original Sin.
Release Date
Dexter: Resurrection will be out this summer, and Trinity should not be too far behind once filming begins since Original Sin came together pretty darn fast. 2026? Maybe.

Much has been made about the lack of studio movies that get released in theaters anymore. So you have to treasure the ones that do, like the delightful One of Them Days, starring Keke Palmer and SZA, and the upcoming Good Fortune, with Keanu Reeves, Aziz Ansari, Seth Rogen, Sandra Oh, and, well, Keke Palmer. She’s the charismatic queen of theatrical comedy!
Speaking of, one of Palmer’s upcoming projects is starring in an adaptation of The ‘Burbs, Joe Dante’s 1989 dark-comedy film with Tom Hanks. Will you be watching the Peacock series? The answer better not be “nope.”
Here’s everything we know about The ‘Burbs.
Plot
In the original horror-tinged comedy from Gremlins genius Joe Dante), Tom Hanks plays a suburbanite who begins to suspect his new neighbors of… MURDER. The Peacock adaptation tweaks the premise by following a couple, seemingly played by Keke Palmer and Jack Whitehall, who move into the husband’s childhood home. As per the logline, “What starts as a typical suburban life quickly unravels as new neighbors arrive with explosive secrets.”
Peacock’s The ‘Burbs (as I’ll call it from now on to avoid confusion) is being written by Celeste Hughley, while Seth MacFarlane and Brian Grazer are attached as executive producers. Dante does not appear to be involved, but Dana Olsen, who wrote the original screenplay, is a co-executive producer.
In a 35th anniversary retrospective with Paste about The ‘Burbs, Dante discussed the film underperforming at the box office before becoming a cult classic. “It does seem to have quite a following, and it was apparent even at the time,” he said. “I’d go to the dentist and they’d say ‘Oh, you made The ‘Burbs? I love that picture!’ But in the meantime, you’re sort of feeling that you’re in movie jail because the reviews are so bad.”
As for MacFarlane, besides his admittedly light involvement with Family Guy and American Dad, he’s also producing another reimagining of a classic comedy: Naked Gun.

Besides Tom Hanks, The ‘Burbs also starred Bruce Dern, Carrie Fisher, Rick Ducommun, Corey Feldman, Wendy Schaal, Henry Gibson, and Gale Gordon, of Lucy: A Tribute fame. The cast of Peacock’s The ‘Burbs includes Keke Palmer, Jack Whitehall, Julia Duffy, the always-hilarious Paula Pell, Kapil Talwalkar, and Mark Proksch (Colin Robinson from What We Do in the Shadows), who, come to think of it, would make a good Mr. Mooney in the inevitable I Love Lucy reboot.

Searches for the Best Picture nominee spiked following Pope Francis’ death, and viewers are drinking in the Ralph Fiennes-starring film, which revolves around a dramatized version of the infighting between the Catholic Church’s leaders as they locked themselves in the Vatican for the process. The film took home the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, but let’s be honest, it’s a soap-opera of a movie, too.
9. Companion – New Line Cinema film streaming on Max
The Final Girl has taken a turn in this dark comedy that sees a “companion” robot hack into her own programming, and Sophie Thatcher really goes for it while giving Jack Quaid much more than he bargained for in this twisted romance story. That much has been predictable from the movie’s promotional tour, but this film still delivers enough curveballs to make the ride worth taking. Both stars are on fire with Thatcher recently surviving the third Yellowjackets season and starring opposite the dastardly Hugh Grant in Heretic. Quaid, meanwhile, starred in Novocaine and will soon assist buddy-comedy duo John Cena and Idris Elba in Heads Of State.
8. G20 – Amazon MGM Studios movie streaming on Prime Video
Antony Starr isn’t simply Homelander, guys. He previously starred in the excellent Banshee, and currently within his Amazon stomping grounds, he’s getting his tush kicked by Viola Davis. She portrays the U.S. president who is targeted at the G20 summit, and you can guess that she doesn’t exactly need rescuing by security. For his part, Starr was thrilled to be defeated, as he revealed on Instagram: “The signs were there all along…. I was gonna get my ass whupped. I’m glad it was you.” Homie goes down.
Apple TV+ was so confident in this series that they renewed for a second season before debut. That’s generally a move that doesn’t go wrong, and it doesn’t hurt that Jon Hamm departed the Landman set to portray a contemporary Don Draper type who starts robbing his wealthy neighbors after his hedge-funder lifestyle and marriage both crumbled. Amanda Peet and Olivia Munn co-star, and James Marsden will bring his affable ways to the show’s future.
The Testaments sequel series is currently in the works (also with Bruce Miller as showrunner) to extend Margaret Atwood’s tales of Gilead, but before that happens, we can consider why, exactly, anybody would choose to come back from Canada after escaping the show’s hellscape. Also, what the hell is Serena Joy plotting, if anything at all? Elisabeth Moss previously hinted that the relationship between June and Selena would be a large part of this season, and ideally, both Commander Lawrence and Aunt Lydia will receive massive comeuppance before all is said and done.
Get ready to get awkward again with Nathan Fielder. The overlord troll is back for a second season of helping people “rehearse” for significant moments within his own simulations. In doing so, he began this year’s masterful display of discomfort by devoting resources “toward an issue that affects us all,” according to Max’s spoiler-free description. This week, Fielder “draws from his past,” and the less you know going into these episodes, the better.
Tom Hardy’s fixer, Harry, sat in a potentially difficult place last week as one of only a few people who knew where the bodies were buried, but that’s also inherently the life of a fixer. Pierce Brosnan’s mob head knows this much as well, and Guy Ritchie’s series is currently one of the most popular shows on Paramount. It’s safe to say that a second season will soon be in the works, and Hardy has already been out there, teasing up a storm about potential international destinations to be tackled by Guy Ritchie. MobLand co-stars Helen Mirren, who has recently been everywhere including Taylor Sheridan’s universe, and Paddy Considine, who damn well should be everywhere, too.
Charlie Brooker’s satirical anthology series, which frequently highlights a technological hellscape not too far off base from reality, will soon return with what Brooker promises is “back to basics in many ways. They’re all sci-fi stories, but there’s definitely some horrifying things that occur, but maybe not in an overt horror-movie way.” In doing so, you can expect a followup to the notorious “USS Callister” episode, but don’t expect to see Jesse Plemons because, well, you know.
Will Tom Hardy be in the Peaky Blinders movie? Look at his face and realize that this is not an important question right now. Instead, this is the moment where The Raid franchise director Gareth Evans’ long-gestating action movie has finally arrived. Hardy is in the driver’s seat as a jaded detective who is tangling with underworld baddies, including Timothy Olyphant, after a drug deal gone wrong. On the way toward rescuing an entire city, Hardy will pick up a flamethrower. Will he use the Venom voice while doing so? We’ll never tell.
Well, Pedro Pascal’s Joel is down for the saddest count, which is fine because the dude also needs to film about 10 other projects, including Avengers: Doomsday, and Bella Ramsey will keep carrying the torch as Ellie. Meanwhile, Pascal has been doing his best to keep any toxic fans from piling onto Kaitlyn Dever (who portrays Abby), but he might have broken a few hearts as well with a post-mortem shoutout on Instagram while writing, “Thank you, scene partner. You little miracle.” And also, showrunner Craig Mazin has confirmed, “This is not the last we will see of Joel.” So there.
