This past weekend was incredibly packed in terms of live music. Oasis finally reunited. So did Blackpink, and so did Black Sabbath. Amid all that, Lana Del Rey had a couple shows at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium, too, on July 3 and 4.
On both nights, Del Rey tapped Addison Rae as her opener, and also on both nights, Rae joined Del Rey during the main set. During both performances, they sang Rae’s “Diet Pepsi” (here’s a video) followed by Del Rey’s “57.5” (here’s a video). As Stereogum notes, this was Rae’s first-ever stadium performance.
Meanwhile, during Rae’s first opening set on the 3rd (as setlist.fm notes), Rae performed seven songs, including the live debuts of “Money Is Everything” and “Summer Forever.”
Check out Del Rey’s setlist from the first night (via setlist.fm) below.

For years, it seemed like it would never happen. Then, this past weekend, it finally did: Oasis reunited. For two nights in Cardiff, Wales this past weekend, the band kicked off their long-awaited comeback tour. As for who is responsible for this whole stunning ordeal, Noel Gallagher has seemingly identified the driving force.
As NME notes, at the second show, there was a section where Noel introduced the band members, and while introducing guitarist Paul Arthurs (also known as Bonehead), he said, “On guitar, if it wasn’t for him, none of this would have happened.”
Some have interpreted this as Gallagher crediting Bonehead as the reason for the reunion, but he could also have been referring to the fact that Bonehead was a founding member of the band, and that if he hadn’t helped bring the group to life, Oasis wouldn’t have existed at all.
Find some clips from the first show here and check out the full setlist below, along with Oasis’ upcoming tour dates.

We live in the Dot era. After demolishing rap rival Drake last year, Kendrick Lamar’s victory lap has dominated 2025 and the current hip-hop landscape. Super Bowl performance. More Grammy wins. “Not Like Us” still in rotation. “Luther” reigning for 13 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Record-breaking stadium status tour with SZA still going strong.
But despite Mr. Duckworth’s dominance, there’s some other rap music from the past six months that you must get familiar with. And who better to help guide you than hip-hop’s greatest journalist? These picks ain’t just personal: I truly take into account my unbiased view on how these tunes have impacted hip-hop culture.
Spoiler alert: All hail what Pharrell and the garcons cooked up in Paris. Yup, rap vets still rule. Pardon me, youth. Y’all day will come.

Finally, it happened: This past weekend, Oasis kicked off their anticipated reunion tour. For months, there has been speculation about what the setlist would look like, and Liam Gallagher even weighed in on some of the chatter. Now, though, there’s no more need for guessing.
Oasis played two shows in Cardiff, Wales over the weekend and they had identical setlists (per setlist.fm). Both shows opened with “Hello” and wrapped with the one-two-three punch of “Don’t Look Back In Anger,” “Wonderwall,” and “Champagne Supernova.”

Apple Music launched almost exactly ten years ago now, and in the decade since, it has become a culture-defining streaming platform. Users have logged billions of plays over the years, and now Apple Music has celebrated that by sharing the list of the service’s 500 most-streamed songs ever. They’ve been rolling out the list gradually over the past few days, but now the whole thing is here.
Congratulations are in order for Ed Sheeran, as his “Shape Of You” was the most-played song globally during the first decade of Apple Music. The Weeknd is No. 2 with “Blinding Lights,” and he’s also the artist with the most R&B/soul songs on the chart, with nine of them. Drake is No. 3 with “God’s Plan,” and he has more songs in the top 500 than any other artist thanks to his 27 entries. (“One Dance” is another of his that made the top 10, at No. 7.)
Taylor Swift is also heavily represented, coming in right behind Drake with 14 total songs on the list. Billie Eilish leads the charge for Alternative songs, with nine on the list, and “Bad Guy” is the top-streamed song in the genre (it’s also No. 10 on the overall list and is the most-streamed song by a female-identifying artist).
As for country music, Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” is in the lead there, while Morgan Wallen has the most total country songs on the chart with nine. Finally, among Latin artists, Bad Bunny has more songs on the list than anybody else, with 10.
Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne have had quite the pivot. In Neighbors and Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, they were husband and wife. In the first season of their Apple TV+ series Platonic, they’re former best friends who are, well, platonic and that’s that. The debut season was a winner in 2023 (the 93-percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes is pretty great), faring well enough to land the show a second run.
The new season, from co-creators Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco, lands on Apple TV+ soon, so before that, check out everything you need to know about the upcoming episodes.
Plot
Apple previously noted of the first season, “Platonic follows a platonic pair of former best friends approaching midlife who reconnect after a long rift. The duo’s friendship becomes all consuming — and destabilizes their lives in a hilarious way.” Of the new season, they say it “picks up with everyone’s favorite pair of best friends as they contend with new midlife hurdles, including work, weddings and partners in crises. The duo tries their best to be each other’s rock — but sometimes rocks break things.”
“Honestly, we had talked about it during the first season, but I get really nervous about how it’s going to be received. I’m not a count-your-eggs-before-they-hatch guy. I’ve done that thing where I drive around Friday night of opening weekend for my movies and go to the theaters and there’s no one in them. I really just wanted to see if we were happy with it when it came out — and if everyone else was happy with it. I was kind of nervous about how high my standards were for what we were doing, and I wanted to make sure that we could actually do it. And then once I saw that we could, I was like, ‘OK, we should keep doing it.’”
Cast
Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen will return, and also present will be Carla Gallo, Luke Macfarlane, Tre Hale, and Andrew Lopez.
New to the cast for the second season are Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, and Beck Bennett (all Saturday Night Live mainstays in the 2010s).
Release Date
The new season is set to premiere on August 6 on Apple TV+.
Steven and Ian open with a quick conversation about fireworks and fireworks-adjacent emo music. Then they dive into the outcry from Lorde fans about the faulty “transparent” CD edition of her latest album, Virgin. Steven is excited to see CD discourse go mainstream, though he worries that this bad publicity might turn people off to the format.
After that, they discuss the AI band The Velvet Sundown, which has already racked up 500,000 monthly listeners on Spotify in just a few weeks. They also talk about the recent Glastonbury Festival and speculate on why European music festivals look so much more fun than American ones. Finally, they do the Q3 Fantasy Albums Draft, and talk about some of the most anticipated releases of the next three months.
New episodes of Indiecast drop every Friday. Listen to Episode 246 here and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. You can submit questions for Steve and Ian at [email protected], and make sure to follow us on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) for all the latest news. We also recently launched a visualizer for our favorite Indiecast moments. Check those out here.
JID has a new album, God Does Like Ugly, coming this August. Before that, though, he’s putting a spin on the deluxe editions that tend to follow albums with GDLU Preluxe, a mixtape that he’s releasing before the project, on July 4. An EP or small collection of songs to precede an album isn’t a new thing, but the labeling is fun. At any rate, he shared “32 (Freestyle)” a couple days ago, and now he’s back with another new one, “Beau,” a fun four minutes that shows off his characteristic lyrical dexterity.
JID has been busy. He confirmed in March that the new album was finished, writing, “It’s done. It’s turned in. It’s coming really f**king soon. It’s been a long time in the making. All the ‘T’s are crossed, and the ‘I’s are dotted. I think we’re in a good position to build this new world that I’ve been working on for the past couple of years.” He also performed at the final Dreamville festival, and during his set, he previewed his now-released single “Wrk.” He also just joined Offset on the Drowning Pool-sampling “Bodies.”
Listen to “Beau” above.
God Does Like Ugly is out 8/9 via Dreamville/Interscope. Find more information here.
