Raekwon And Mobb Deep Announce A Co-Headlining Tour To Celebrate Their Classic 1995 Albums’ Anniversaries

30 years ago, two of hip-hop’s most pivotal albums came out and made stars of New York-based rap acts Raekwon The Chef and Mobb Deep. And now, Raekwon and surviving Mobb Deep member Havoc have announced a joint tour to celebrate their classic 1995 albums’ 30-year anniversaries.

Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx was the Wu-Tang Clan alum’s debut studio album. Like all of the first wave of Wu-Tang solo releases, it was produced by The RZA; it’s one of two debuts to “feature” another Wu member, Ghostface Killah. Debuting at No.4 on the Billboard 200, it was eventually certified Gold by the RIAA, and is considered a pioneer of the mafioso rap subgenre. It’s often listed among the greatest rap albums of all time.

Likewise, The Infamous similarly put Havoc and Prodigy on the map, despite being their second album after 1993’s Juvenile Hell. It was their first album under RCA Records imprints BMG and Loud, after the lukewarm reception of its predecessor got the Queens duo booted from Island. It turned out to be a great investment for Loud, as it debuted at No.18 on the Billboard 200 and launched the rugged rhymes of Prodigy into mythic status, courtesy of hits like “Shook Ones Pt. II” and “Survival Of The Fittest.”

The month-long tour will see Rae and Hav circle the US, starting in Portland, OR, and wrapping up in Miami, FL, with a single set featuring both rappers. Tickets will be available starting with artist presales beginning Wednesday, August 13 at 10 AM local time, while the general sale begins Friday, August 15 at 10 AM local time at LiveNation.com. See below for the tour dates.

Cardi B Teases Her New Single ‘Imaginary Players’: ‘Just A Lil Taste Of The Drama’

cardi b imaginary players cover copy
Cardi B/Atlantic

Cardi B’s second album, Am I The Drama? is just about a month away from release after over a half-decade of waiting, and now, Cardi’s teasing its next single, “Imaginary Players.” While we still don’t know what the single will sound like, Cardi posted its release date and pre-save link on Instagram, writing in the caption: “Just a lil taste of the drama.” In the accompanying photo, she squats in front of a white Rolls-Royce in a matching fur coat and bodysuit, with a pink wig and knee-length, ultra-high-heeled boots.

Incidentally, “Imaginary Players” is also the title of a 1997 Jay-Z track from the Brooklyn rapper’s second album, In My Lifetime, Vol. 1. That track sampled René & Angela’s 1981 track, “Imaginary Playmates,” which could be a hint to the sound on Cardi’s own “Imaginary Players.” Perhaps it uses a similar sample, or Cardi will utilize a gritty, ’90s throwback flow to reconnect with her New York roots.

Even though “Imaginary Players” is the first single since the album was officially announced in June, it was preceded by “Outside,” which dropped just days before the announcement. The album will also end up being the home for previously released singles “WAP” and “Up” after telling fans they “are two of my biggest songs, my fans have been asking me to put them on an album, and people search for them on IOP all the time… they deserve a home.”

“Imaginary Players” is out on 8/15. You can pre-save it here.

Am I The Drama? is due on 9/19 via Atlantic. You can find more info here.

Following His Two Breakout Hits, Sombr Announces ‘I Barely Know Her,’ His Anticipated Debut Album

Sombr 2025 top
Sombr

Sombr has been enjoying a breakout 2025, with his singles “Back To Friends” and “Undressed” both becoming top-40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Those two songs, it turns out, will appear on Sombr’s highly anticipated debut album, I Barely Know Her, which was announced today (August 11).

The project drops soon, on August 22, and it’s set to feature ten songs. The tracklist includes Sombr’s latest single, last month’s “12 To 12.”

He discussed new music in a June interview with Billboard, saying:

“There’s always a part of having ‘hits’ that puts pressure on you, but I try to block that out. Every time I’m feeling it, I remember why I got into it and why I made those songs [‘Undressed’ and ‘Back To Friends’]. I didn’t make them to have hits; I made them because I was feeling something and I needed an escape. I needed to pour my thoughts and feelings out, and when I put them out, I received so many messages and people telling me after shows that the music has been therapeutic for them, which is exactly what it was for me.

I don’t think the music I’ve made will impact the album, really. I think the music I’ve made has definitely given me the confidence to do what I want and make what I feel is true to myself because that’s what those songs were. I can’t say much, but there’s definitely an album on the horizon.”

Check out the I Barely Know Her art and tracklist below, along with Sombr’s upcoming tour dates.
