The first trailer for Ari Aster’s new movie Eddington is here.
The A24 film takes place during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, May 2020. It follows a standoff between a small-town sheriff (played Joaquin Phoenix) and mayor (Pedro Pascal), which pits neighbor against neighbor in Eddington, New Mexico. The teaser, which you can watch above, establishes the plot by having Phoenix’s character aimlessly doomscrolling through Instagram in the middle of the night. Relatable!
Eddington is Aster and Phoenix’s second movie together, after 2023’s misunderstood Beau Is Afraid. But it’s another Oscar nominee’s introduction to the Ari-verse. “I don’t want to give much away as far as the story and character go, but it was a wild adventure that I got to go on,” Austin Butler told The Hollywood Reporter about the film. “I got to play a character who’s very different from anything that I’ve done.”
He continued, “Ari and I have been friends for a little bit, and it was great to see him on set. He is such an incredible filmmaker, and he has such confidence and such a sense of humor and wild imagination. I truly loved working with him.”
Eddington, which also stars Emma Stone, Luke Grimes, Deirdre O’Connell, Micheal Ward, Clifton Collins Jr., William Belleau, Cameron Mann, Matt Gomez Hidaka, and Amélie Hoeferle, opens in theaters on July 18.
Meg was one of the final performers yesterday (April 13), but she wasn’t the only one on stage at the time, as she peppered guests throughout her set. A few songs in, she welcomed Spiritbox singer Courtney LaPlante to perform their collaboration “TYG.” Elsewhere, she also did multiple songs with Queen Latifah, Ciara, and Victoria Monét.
As Rolling Stone notes, Megan also overcame a technical issue during the set: Something went wrong with her microphone, but ultimately, the issue was quickly fixed and Meg continued, unfazed.

A new era of Lizzo has arrived. So, yesterday (April 13) during the “Pink (Bad Day)” singer’s appearance on Saturday Night Live Lizzo released something from her music vault.
To close out her stint as SNL’s musical guest, Lizzo debuted a new song, “Don’t Make Me Love You,” which could be her next Love In Real Life single. On the heartfelt ballad Lizzo demands that her emotional investment into her lover be properly honored.
“Oh, here we go / You’re playing with me feelings, you’re playing with my soul / But I can’t let you go / I just wanna be wanted and feel beautiful / You better know what you want / If it ain’t me / Don’t make me love you / Don’t make my heart beat outta my chest,” she sang.
Although Lizzo is known for her pop bangers, “Don’t Make Me Love You” leans more soft rock, which is fitting as the track’s melody immediately pulled in sonic comparisons to the late Tina Turner’s “Simply The Best.”
Lizzo has not announced her forthcoming album’s expected release date. But Lizzo’s SNL track premiere suggests it could be revealed soon.
Watch Lizzo’s performance of “Don’t Make Me Love You” on Saturday Night Live above.
Lizzo went full rock star For her first performance as the late night show’s musical guest. The live medley of singles “Love In Real Life” and “Still Bad,” proved that Lizzo has everything necessary to transition into the genre.
But instead of focusing on her musical prowess, Lizzo sneak in several subtle nods to other Black music icons across sonic spaces. Opening the set with background singers coordinated in the Black Liberation Flag color scheme, Lizzo ensured the unifying message was loud and clear. With a decked out custom electronic guitar strapped to her chest and a pronounced perfectly fluffed afro, Lizzo seemed to pay tribute to two late musicians–Betty Davis and Jimi Hendrix. As Lizzo’s distressed fishnet tights delivered flashback to the late Tina Turner.
Doja Cat’s next studio album is ready to go, or so it appears. In February, the “Masc” rapper formerly announced, Vie. Since then, fans of the Grammy Award-winner have monitored her official social media pages for updates regarding the forthcoming body of work.
Today (April 13), Doja Cat gave supporters something to discuss posting the working tracklist for Vie on X (formerly Twitter). The screenshot image included a list of 16 unreleased songs. Fans quickly identified a few song titles as previously teased tunes. However, one of Doja’s most requested snippet (“Crack”) did not make the cut.
In her upload, Doja acknowledged its absence, writing: “Don’t ask me where ‘Crack’ is [right now].”
Over on Instagram, Doja played a preview of the track “Jealous Type.” Last month during a broadcast, Doja Cat previewed several songs expected to appear on the project including “Lipstain,” and “Acts Of Service.”
Coachella is known as the go-to desert destination for music, food, and fashion. Every so often a featured act uses their set time to platform a social cause they’re passionate about. Yesterday (April 12), Clairo did just that during her Coachella 2025 performance.
Before taking the “Nomad” singer sang a note, the crowd was greeted by Senator Bernie Sanders. The Vermont representative used his time in front of the festivalgoers to remind them of their political power.
In a speech (viewable here), Sanders urged attendees to fight back against corruption on all levels. The message sparked a thunderous applause from the crowd. Even users online expressed their support of Sanders’ words.
Sanders followed up his Coachella with a closing statement on X (formerly Twitter). “Thank you, Coachella,” wrote Sanders. “I enjoyed introducing the great Clairo tonight.”
He closed with reference to the country’ current political landscape. “These are tough times,” he chimed. “The younger generation has to help lead in the fight to combat climate change, protect women’s rights, and build an economy that works for all, not just the few.”

Most inspiring stories start with bouncing back after a hard stumble. But an epic fall can also serve as an important lesson. D4vd learned this during his set at Coachella 2025.
On the festival’s opening day (April 11), in an attempt to hype up the crowd D4vd showed off his gymnastics skills. Unfortunately, the “My House Is Not A Home” singer’s aerial stunt failed miserably. In a now-viral clip (viewable here), D4vd face-planted after launching into a backflip.
Initially, fans were concerned after hearing the sound his head made when slamming on to the stage. Then moments later D4vd is seen laughing it off. Now fans online have shared a string of silly jokes about the incident. Even D4vd has gotten in on the joke sharing a few hilarious responses of his own.
“Humiliation ritual complete…,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “See u next week Coachella. I love u.”
In his Instagram stories, D4vd posted a screenshot of his disastrous backflip with the caption: “All I’m listening to [is my song ‘What Are You Waiting For‘] while I practice this backflip 1000 times today.”
Fans will be glued to Coachella 2025’s live stream to see if D4vd can redeem himself.

Brat summer is quickly approaching. However, based on the season’s foremother’s past statements, Charli XCX fans believe this is a party-fueled journey they must embark on by themselves.
Yesterday (April 12), Charli XCX seemed to tease that she’s opting out, but supporters are free to carry on as planned. During the “Sympathy Is A Knife” singer’s performance at Coachella 2025 weekend one, Charli XCX provided a status update on Brat summer.
At the close of her set (viewable here), Charli XCX plastered a message outlining her feelings ending her Brat era.
“Thank you so much, Coachella,” the message opened. “Does this mean ‘Brat’ summer is finally over? Idk? Maybe?”
The message continued: “Yes coz duh it as already over like last year. Wait…what it? No?”
Charli XCX then shared a vulnerable confession. “I don’t know who I am if it’s over. F*ck,” read the festival screens. “Wait…I remembered. I’m Charli. And honestly, I just want this moment to last forever. Please don’t let it be over.”
Heading into her performance, Charli XCX’s promotional Coachella billboard promised a new era was on the way. While her closing message embraced fans’ love of the Brat summer wave, it is abundantly clear Charli is ready to move forward to another sonic era.

Day two of Coachella 2025 weekend one has officially wrapped. Yesterday (April 12), Green Day served as the coveted desert festival’s headliner. While the “One Eyed Bastard” musicians were sure to include a few lyric changes during their performance, they found a way to integrate another one of the live signatures–fan participation.
Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong invited one lucky fan to join the band on stage to perform a duet. As the festivalgoer made their way to Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tré Cool cued up “Know Your Enemy” from their 2009 album, 21st Century Breakdown.
Once the initial shock of being on stage at Coachella with Green Day wore off, the fan immediately belted out the song’s lyrics (which you can see here). Between their pure enthusiasm and infectious jovial demeanor they quickly stole the show.
After an adorable embrace of the supporter, Armstrong took over on the vocal front. “Well, violence is an energy, Well, from here to eternity, Well, violence is an energy, Well, silence is the enemy, so gimme, gimme revolution,” he sang.
Before exiting the stage, the pair danced and even jumped off a sound monitor. Then they had a quick conversation. “Ladies and gentlemen, she told me her name was Brooke,” Armstrong told the audience before leading a crowd chant in her honor.
This is sure to be a moment the fan never forgets.

Yellowstone‘s final season dealt with the dirty business of Kevin Costner’s departure before Beth sold the ranch (and acquired another one that could one day be the focus of a Beth and Rip spin off), and that won’t be all that Taylor Sheridan wrote in this universe. Later this year, The Madison will (mysteriously) continue the Yellowstone saga in contemporary times. And sure, 1923 streamed a series finale last week, but that’s not the end of the prequel business (after the already retired 1883), either. Enter 1944, which will be shifting into gear after looming on the distant horizon for a few years.
Whatever happened to the reported 6666 series? Nobody but Taylor Sheridan knows if those cowboys will ever have their group rodeo, but let’s talk about where things stand elsewhere and what to expect from 1944.
Plot
Following 1923‘s shattering conclusion, Variety confirmed that this world is “officially moving on to ‘1944.’” Sheridan’s full plans for this prequel series are still hush hush, but with this show bearing a year-based title, we can assume that the story will pick up with the Dutton family in WWII times. At that point, of course, they will have control of the ranch, but we can expect some crises on the property front because, well, that’s how Taylor Sheridan rolls.
Which characters could we see show up? No official word has emerged, but Spencer Dutton actor Brandon Sklenar wished upon a casting star to Variety by offering, “[M]aybe we see Spencer in 1944” before adding, “That is something I would be interested in doing.” Would that be possible? Sklenar wants so badly for this to happen that he told Hollywood Reporter, “Give me some gout, a little hunch and some salt and pepper. I’ll gravel the voice up a bit … I definitely don’t want to say goodbye to Spencer. I love that guy.”
Yes, he really said, “Give me some gout.” That’s devotion.
Unfortunately, if Spencer is a part of 1944, he will not be accompanied by Alex, who died immediately after prematurely delivering baby John Dutton II. And as Sklenar offered up to Hollywood Reporter (which inquired whether Spencer is grandpa to John Dutton III, famously portrayed by Kevin Costner), he apparently believes this is the case even though it’s not official:
“One would assume what it is at the end of the finale, but it still hasn’t been confirmed. So I guess we’ll have to wait for [the next Yellowstone prequel series] 1944. Hopefully, they’ll reveal that in the first episode, and we won’t have to wait an entire series for confirmation of who John Dutton III’s grandfather is.”
Oh, what a tangled family-tree web that Taylor Sheridan weaves. Paramount Plus, however, hasn’t offered up a 1944 synopsis yet, but ideally, some Landman-style casting tidbits will eventually point towards clues on filming locations and roles being offered.
Cast
Your guess is as good as ours here. Brandon Sklenar really wants to portray an older Spencer, and Sheridan has been silent on whether that is possible through the magic of makeup. Surely, though, Sheridan will find a role for himself. Will he be shirtless and doing suggestive things with cards? Maybe.
Release Date
1944 will not arrive until after The Madison, which debuts later this year to take Yellowstone into the future. At present, no word has surfaced on a planned prequel release date, but 2026 is a realistic window.
Trailer
No footage or trailer exists yet, but one certainty can be counted on. The cast will begin work with one of Sheridan’s famous “cowboy boot camps” held at one of his Texas ranches. Below, CBS Sunday Morning interviewed Yellowstone‘s Cole Hauser, Luke Grimes, and more about how they learned to look like old hands on horseback.
