Ariana Grande launched her big musical comeback last week with “Yes, And?,” her first single of 2024. There’s also been some speculation about her upcoming album, but now there are at least a couple things we know for sure: Today (January 17), Grande announced that her new album is called Eternal Sunshine (as was rumored) and it’s coming out on March 8.

She previously shared the album cover art (find that below), but on her online store, there are alternate covers as well, with one viewable now and three others set to be revealed at a later date.

Beyond that, that’s about all we officially know about the album. No tracklist has been revealed yet, so it remains to be seen how many tracks the album has, how long it’ll be, who (if anybody) is featured on it, and things like that. We do know that Grande wrote and produced “Yes, And?” with Max Martin and Ilya Salmanzadeh, so it’s possible they’re involved with other songs on the album as well. Grande has also yet to announce any upcoming tour dates, so it’s not clear when/if she will hit the road in support of the project.

Near the end of 2023, Grande looked back on the year, which she called “one of the most transformative, most challenging, and yet happiest and most special years” of her life so far. She also generated excitement by noting, “i cannot wait for next year.”

Emily In Paris remains ridiculous popular despite itself. Season 4 is in the works, and who knows if the title character will ever have to grapple with the real-life viral bed bug scourge that’s been in the news (probably not? it sure would be funny, though). For now, however, Lily Collins has dusted off Emily Cooper to make her contribution to NBC Sports’ upcoming coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Yes, this goes as disastrously as you can imagine.

Emily is tasked with designing a uniform for U.S. sprinter Noah Lyles, and what she envisions does apparently help the U.S. seize gold, but surely, what transpires will result in disqualification. That haute couture cape would literally knock out the competition, so perhaps Emily is thinking about the wrong sport, but hey, nothing about Emily In Paris makes sense either, so this commercial at least stays consistent to the Netflix show’s fluffy vibe.

Is that Champere Champagne that she’s spewing across a boardroom? Fingers crossed.

Naturally, this is also a missed opportunity to bring in Lucas Bravo for a hot Chef Gabriel cameo, too. And why not add Bruno Gouery in for a little Evil Gays reference from The White Lotus? If Netflix is in with NBC for this promo, then HBO could join the party, too. Also, Jason Sudeikis’ Ted Lasso character went from being an NBC Olympic commentator to starring in his own Apple TV+ show, so toss him in the mix as well. Party time.

Emily In Paris Season 4 doesn’t have a release date yet, but it’s coming.

The Baja Beach Festival is set to return this summer to Rosarito Beach in Mexico. Taking place over the course of three days (August 9 to 11), Baja Beach Festival will bring together some of the best acts in Latin music.

The line-up for Baja Beach Fest 2024 hasn’t been revealed yet, but last year’s headliners included Don Omar, Ozuna, Feid, Wisin.Y Yandel, Tego Calderon, and Nicky Jam. Arcangel, Becky G, Young Miko, El Alfa, were also on the lineup, as well as Tainy and Sky Rompiendo. A press release promises that this year’s festival will be “a worthy follow-up to the 2023 edition.”

As past lineups have proven exciting, fans are anxious to get their hands on tickets.

When do Baja Beach Fest 2024 festival tickets go on sale?

The pre-sale for Baja Beach Fest 2024 begins Tuesday, January 30. Fans can register for the pre-sale here.

Three-day general admission passes range from $299 to $1,329. Additionally, fans will be able to purchase hotel and shuttle passes through the website. Those wanting to attend can pay outright for tickets, or put them on a layaway plan.

Thanks to a staggering amount of Emmy wins for Succession and The White Lotus, HBO was riding high coming off the awards ceremony. To tout the network’s success, longtime HBO executive Casey Bloys sat down for an interview on the state of its programming.

However, it wasn’t entirely all cheery topics. Bloys was asked about the recent cancelation of the Max series Our Flag Means Death, which was a huge bummer to fans of the pirate show. Bloys addressed why Our Flag had to walk the plank and whether Season 3 might be able to set sail elsewhere.

Off topic here, but Our Flag Means Death was recently canceled after two seasons. A petition to revive the show that has more than 50,000 signatures and the fan campaign has raised north of $20,000 to buy ads to save the show. Why was it canceled and what would it take to bring it back?

Nobody likes to cancel a show. But the fact of the matter is the numbers weren’t there for a renewal. But I will say, whenever we cancel a show, if a creator can set it up elsewhere, we support them. That is an option for Our Flag; it didn’t make sense for us but it might be for someone else. We let the producers know if they can find a home, we’ll be supportive of that.

It looks the chance for a Season 3 didn’t sink to the bottom of Davy Jones’ locker, and OK, that’s enough pirate puns. We’ll be good now. Promise.

How To Buy Tickets For Baja Beach Fest 2024

Presale passes to Baja Beach Fest 2024 will go on sale on January 30 at 12 p.m. PT. Those interested can register through the festival’s official website. It’s still yet to be announced when the general sale will take place.

Right now, the 3-day General Admission pass is $299 for Tier 1, but will eventually increase to a maximum of $489 once each tier sells out. The GA+ pass will run between $459 and $679 and includes both pre-party and Bombay afterparty access.

The VIP ticket costs between $679 and $959. Those who purchase will have access to exclusive areas, bathrooms, and the Papas&Beer VIP afterparty each night.

Finally, the La Playa pass is priced between $1,329 and $2,059, depending on your tier of purchase. This ticket includes all-you-can-eat food and drink, exclusive deck access and prime stage viewing, live performances, and so many more perks.

Ted Cruz has been emasculated by Donald Trump yet again.

On Tuesday, the Texas senator officially endorsed Trump for president. “I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for President of the United States. I look forward to supporting him enthusiastically,” he told host Sean Hannity on Fox News. “[Iowa] was a dominating victory for Donald Trump. I’ve got to say, there’s no place like the Iowa caucuses. I know it intimately. The men and women of Iowa, they take their responsibility incredibly seriously. They scrutinize the candidates.” Cruz won the Iowa caucus over Trump in 2016, which is the last time he didn’t take an L to the big man.

Trump takes a sick (and — the worst person, great point, etc. — very funny) pride in belittling Cruz as much as possible. He’s called Ted “worse than Hillary [Clinton]” and the “single biggest liar,” insulted his wife Heidi, and accused his father of helping with the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Cruz, in turn, said Trump is a “a sniveling coward” and “a pathological liar,” and that he’s “not in the habit of supporting people who attack my wife and attack my father.”

But that was then — now that Trump thinks Cruz “shouldn’t even exist,” the Cancun-cavorting senator is willing to bend the knee.

Sofía Vergara took the role of playing drug lord Griselda Blanco seriously. But not I’m-going-to-do-cocaine-for-real seriously.

During Tuesday’s episode of The Tonight Show, the actress discussed starring in Griselda, a Netflix limited series about the woman affectionally known as the Cocaine Godmother. “The character is insane,” she said. “It was a woman that was raising four kids while she was becoming, you know, a monster.”

Vergara also discussed working with director Andrés Baiz. “He was my anchor during the filming because I had never done anything except Gloria Pritchett,” the four-time Emmy nominee said, referring to her character from Modern Family. “I didn’t know anything. He taught me how to smoke. He taught me how to do cocaine. He taught me a lot.” Fallon cut in, “Alright alright hold on hold on” (it can be annoying when he interrupts his guests, but this time was valid).

Vergara continued, “It was amazing because I was 51 years old and I didn’t even know how to, you know, how to light a cigarette. I’ve never done cocaine. So it’s like, it was amazing. It was like, a great experience.”

She caught herself before anyone got the wrong idea about her method acting:

The news that music fans have been waiting for arrived yesterday, January 16: The 2024 Coachella lineup was unveiled! Lana Del Rey, Doja Cat, and Tyler The Creator are headlining, but there’s one act on the poster that’s perhaps more notable than even those three.

Is No Doubt reuniting for Coachella 2024?

Yes!

No Doubt’s official social media accounts are rarely used, and when they are, it’s mostly for promoting archival material and things like that. That makes sense, considering the band hasn’t been active for years. At 6 p.m. ET yesterday, though, the group shared a minute-long video, which starts with Gwen Stefani reminiscing about the No Doubt days. This results in her hopping on a four-way video call with her old bandmates, and after a bit, they come to the conclusion that they should get back together for a concert. The video ends with a question mark displayed on screen.

Then, a bit over an hour later, Coachella revealed its 2024 lineup, and sure enough, No Doubt is on it.

Back in 2022, Stefani expressed that she’d be open to a No Doubt reunion, saying, “Anything can happen. I have no idea what’s going to happen with No Doubt. We haven’t really talked about doing anything, but it feels like everyone is, right?”

The band previously reunited for the 2012 album Push And Shove, and their last live performance together was in 2015. The timing is good for a reunion right now, as the band’s “Just A Girl” has become a hit on TikTok.

Jimmy Butler‘s taste in music is all over the place. Everyone knows that the Texas native loves country music, he’s a big Taylor Swift fan, and as we learned during his appearance at media day before this season, he’s just like me. (i.e.: A guy in his 30s who still really likes the song “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” by Panic! at the Disco.)

All of this is to say that Butler, perhaps unsurprisingly, wants to pursue his love of music a little more seriously. And in a new piece by Claire de Lune in The Guardian, we learned that Butler is working on a country album, and that he’s already recorded 60 or so songs for the project. Now, this is Jimmy Butler we’re talking about here, so there are equal odds on “this never sees the light of day” and “he will drop it sometime in the next 20 minutes.” But one thing is for sure: If this album does ever get released for public consumption, we will probably not hear Butler sing on it, as he liked his role to something similar to DJ Khaled, who he loves.

“He’s a crazy talented individual,” Butler told de Lune. “To bring all these artists together and to have them be able to maintain the egos and be like, ‘Yo, look, this is what we’re trying to get done here,’ he’s mastered it. I freaking love DJ Khaled. ‘We are the best,’ as he would say.”

Hopefully all of this is trending towards a world where Butler opens a chain of coffee shops that only plays music he created, which sure seems like something he would do.

Mumford & Sons have shared their first taste of new music in five years. Today (January 16), the band premiered their new single, “Good People.”

The song is produced by Pharrell Williams and features the band gearing up for a triumphant new revolution. Over a punchy, percussive track, lead vocalist Marcus Mumford makes a powerful declaration, leading an onward march to victory.

“Good people been down for so long / And now it’s like the sun is rising,” sings Mumford on the song’s chorus.

According to a press release accompanying the premiere of the song, Mumford & Sons first became friends with Pharrell over a decade ago. Through touring and festivals, the two parties linked up, and frequently discussed collaborating. The collaboration finally came together after Pharrell and Mumford & Sons reconnected at Pharrell’s Something In The Water festival at Virginia Beach. The band later met up with Williams in New York City and Paris, where they wrote and recorded new material together.

In addition to Pharrell’s production, he also contributes background vocals, along with the Native Vocalists, a 6-piece dynamic vocal choir honoring the indigenous population within the Northern Great Plains.

“Good People” received its world premiere today at Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton Men’s Autumn/Winter runway show at Paris Fashion Week.
