Hailee Steinfeld Is Feeling ‘Dangerous’ With Her First New Song In Two Years For The ‘Sinners’ Soundtrack

In recent years, Hailee Steinfeld has put a priority on her acting over her music career. But for Sinners, she’ll exist in both words: the Oscar-nominated actress stars as Mary in Ryan Coogler’s horror movie, and she also contributed a song to the soundtrack, her first music release in two years.

For “Dangerous,” Steinfeld told Billboard that she wanted to “tap into Mary’s deep desire to be with [Michael B. Jordan’s character] Stack and (maybe selfishly) not always acknowledging what a dangerous position that puts them in. That sort of unrequited love. There’s a vulnerability in these characters that I really connected with, and I wanted my voice to reflect that.”

As for whether she’ll return to making music or if “Dangerous” is a one-off, Steinfeld said, “There was something so raw and emotional about Sinners that pushed me creatively and personally. The music became an extension of that. It felt honest and it felt like me again. I wouldn’t call this a comeback — it’s about returning to the truth, and I’m so grateful to Ryan and Sinners for giving me the opportunity to do that.”

You can listen to a snippet of “Dangerous” above (the full track comes out at a later date), while Sinners hits theaters on April 18.

Ken Carson Links With Playboi Carti And Destroy Lonely On The ‘More Chaos’ Cut ‘Off The Meter’

The title of Ken Carson’s new project that’s out today, More Chaos, might sound like it’s a deluxe edition of his 2023 album A Great Chaos. But, it’s actually a new album in its own right. Carson is mostly solo on the album, but there’s one notable collaborative track: “Off The Meter,” which features both Playboi Carti and Destroy Lonely.

Carson raps about indulging in some vices on the track’s chorus: “I’m pourin’ this lean up / I got X and I’m Promethazine’d up / My b*tch bad and she pour my codeine up / I just smash when I want, I don’t need her / Yeah, do the dash, b*tch, I’m off of the meter.” Carti and Destroy Lonely cover similar ground in their verses.

Meanwhile, Destroy Lonely is a few months removed from ending 2024 with a run of tour dates. As for Carti, after many, many delays, he finally released his long-awaited album Music, and it’s a hit so far, as it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. More new music could be coming soon, too, as Carti followed the release by teasing another new project.

Hayley Williams Dusts Off A ‘Jennifer’s Body’ Soundtrack Deep Cut For A Rare Live Performance

The soundtrack to horror-comedy classic Jennifer’s Body is a real time capsule of late 2000s emo and pop-punk. There’s songs from Panic! At The Disco, Dashboard Confessional, Cute Is What We Aim For, Cobra Starship, and All Time Low. Hayley Williams also contributed a song to the soundtrack, “Teenagers,” which she has never performed live. But on Thursday (April 11), the Paramore singer posted a video of herself playing the track on Instagram.

“#selfserenades wrote this for the jennifer’s body soundtrack when i was still a teenager,” Williams wrote, along with a video where she’s performing an acoustic version of “Teenagers” (not to be confused with the My Chemical Romance song) while sitting on the floor. In an Instagram Story, she added, “lore behind this one is so ridiculous i cant tell if tellin it would make the song better or worse. anyway, first self-serenade in years… hope it’s fine by you.”

Williams also shouted out two organizations that are doing something about the climate crisis because, as she put it, “the ppl in power dont give a rats ass”:

@supportandfeed is doing incredible work to educate on how we can make a positive impact on the planet by being more intentional about how/what we eat. they also do a lot to combat food insecurity/inequities in our food systems. go to their site to learn more and find really good plant-based recipes.

@reverb_org is a great resource for music fans & artists/industry folks alike who want to learn how we can do our part by greening up the touring industry. paramore has done multiple tours with their help — check out their work if you wanna learn more.”

Justin Bieber Has Beef With Drew House, His Clothing Brand He’s Cutting Ties With: ‘Don’t Waste Your Money’

Back in 2019, Justin Bieber launched the lifestyle brand Drew House alongside Ryan Good. Between then and now, though, the relationship between Bieber and the brand appears to have soured: Not only is Bieber cutting ties with Drew House, but the split does not read as amicable.

In an Instagram Story (viewable here) shared yesterday (April 10), Bieber wrote, “I Justin Bieber am no longer involved in this brand. Drew House doesnt represent me or my family or life. If your rocking with me the human Justin Bieber dont waste ur money on Drew House.”

There may be some interpersonal tension between Bieber and Good, as some fans noticed in January that Bieber appeared to have blocked Good on Instagram.

In 2019, Good explained how the brand came to be, telling GQ, “We’ve stayed close over the years. He called me over to his house and said, ‘This is what I want to do and I want you to creative direct it,’ and hit me with the idea of what we should do, and laid it all out pretty simplistically and pretty specific, but pretty in depth. We just kind of got going from there. […] There’s ideations of the name of it and where it’s going to go, what kind of impact he’d want to have, things like that. Then we started talking creatively about how it should look.”

Quavo’s Luxurious ‘Legends’ Video Gets Back To Basics With Lil Baby

Quavo’s past few releases have seen him try on a few new personas. Last summer, he got in his pop bag with Lana Del Rey on her single “Tough,” then tried his hand at guitar-heavy rock alongside Lenny Kravitz with “Fly.” After joining The Kid Laroi for another pop swing with “Slow It Down,” he put on his cowboy boots for the country crossover “Georgia Ways” with Luke Bryan and Teddy Swims.

Now, he’s back in his trap bag, following up February’s “Trappa Rappa” with “Legends” featuring Lil Baby. Over an ominous organ-backed, rattling snare, Quavo and Lil Baby engage in a materialistic display of boastful raps, trading flexes about money, clothes, cars, and of course, women. Naturally, the video accompanying the release captures the rappers showing off plenty of all the above, whipping foreign sports cars through the streets of their hometown, Atlanta, and strutting alongside a squadron of baddies.

Quavo has yet to announce a new album, but you sort of have to believe his increasing productivity of late presages some kind of release, if not the Huncho Jack sequel he seemed to be angling for with Travis Scott. Still, it’s nice to see him linking up with the usual suspects, especially with Baby teasing his own joint album with fellow ATLiens Future and Young Thug. Stay tuned.

Lana Del Rey Laments A Tumultuous Relationship With ‘Henry, Come On’

Country has been all the rage in the pop music scene lately — and even when songs haven’t been outright country, they’ve incorporated elements of it, from twangy guitars to mournful organs.

Lana Del Rey is the latest artist to jump on the trend with her wistful new single, “Henry, Come On.” The track, which laments a past, tumultuous relationship, even nods toward “All these country singers and their lonely rides to Houston / Doesn’t really make for the best, you know, settle down type.”

The new direction certainly justifies Del Rey’s inclusion on the 2025 Stagecoach bill, which sees her preceding Zach Bryan’s closing set on Friday, April 25. And while that new direction might throw off some fans, Lana argued that the classic country sound isn’t actually that big a departure for her.

“All my albums are somewhat rooted in Americana, unless it’s an album like Honeymoon which has a jazz flair, so I don’t think it will be a heavy departure,” she told Vogue last August. “If anything, it will just be a little lighter lyrically, and more pointed in a classic country, American, or Southern Gothic production — which again, so many of my songs already are.”

The album, The Right Person Will Stay, is set for release on May 21.

You can listen to Lana Del Rey’s “Henry, Come On” above.

The Right Person Will Stay is due on 5/21/25 via Interscope and Polydor.

Sheck Wes Returns With ‘ILMB’ Featuring His Cactus Jack Boss Travis Scott

Sheck Wes returns with a woozy new single, “ILMB,” featuring his boss at the Cactus Jack label, Travis Scott. Travis had previously hinted that he would soon be releasing new music from the collective (including Sheck Wes), but the turnaround is pretty impressive.

Unlike Sheck’s signature track “Mo Bamba,” “ILMB” is a lower tempo, hypnotic ode to, well, his “b*tch,” whom he repeatedly declares his love for. In the lofi video for the track, both Sheck and Travis spend time with their respective ladies, but that doesn’t stop them from enjoying the strip club life.

Over the past few years since dropping “Mo Bamba,” Sheck has laid low, periodically popping up for feature appearances with Dreamville’s JID (on “Stick” with J. Cole and Lyrical Lemonade’s “Fly Away,” which also featured Ski Mask The Slump God). Instead of music, it seemed his focus was on pursuing the same sort of hoop career that made Mo Bamba a household name a few years ago. While he had a decent run overseas, and earned the respect of his rapper-baller peers, it looks like he’s decided to keep the main thing the main thing, returning to the creative pursuits that first made him a star.

The Last St. Lunatics Member Suing Nelly Has Dropped His Lawsuit

Nelly is off the hook for supposedly unpaid royalties for members of his crew, St. Lunatics. The final remaining member of the crew continuing their lawsuit against Nelly has dropped the suit, although no reason was given.

According to Billboard, Ali Jones, Nelly‘s former St. Lunatics bandmate, moved to drop the lawsuit today (April 10), but didn’t indicate whether any sort of settlement was reached. Meanwhile, Nelly’s attorneys have requested for the judge to hold off on dismissing the case until after any culpability for the “frivolous” lawsuit was determined.

In their response, they wrote: “Plaintiff’s counsel succeeded in its frivolous campaign aimed at forcing [Nelly] to spend money defending Plaintiff’s ridiculous time-barred claim. The Court is respectfully requested to retain jurisdiction and set a briefing and hearing schedule for [potential sanctions].”

The lawsuit, filed in September 2024, alleged that the band’s members were never properly credited or paid for their contributions to Nelly’s 2000 debut album, Country Grammar. However, just a few weeks later, all the members but one moved to have their names removed from the suit, leaving Ali as sole plaintiff. Nelly’s lawyers informed the court that Murphy Lee, Kyjuan, and City Spud had never given approval for the lawsuit.
