How Much Is The ‘Mean Girls’ Popcorn Bucket At AMC?

a09d688553791dadeff025089af4cfa5.jpg

You know what’s fetch? Movie theater merch, and the new Mean Girls musical has what might be the groolest bit of themed branding we’ve seen in quite a while.

Paramount Pictures has partnered with AMC to offer moviegoers a popcorn-storing tin in the shape of the film’s iconic Burn Book. According to the description, the 54-ounce tin is “perfect for any fan or those who enjoy a touch of drama with their snacks.” As of now, the merch is listed as coming soon so you can’t order it online, but when you head to theaters to see this musical rendition of Tina Fey’s sharp high-school satire, expect to shell out $20.

Fans of the film can pair their snack-stashing diary with other collectibles like diamond-patterned tumblers, “You Can’t Sit With Us” water bottles, and pink shirts with what is arguably the most quoted line of the original film. But, let’s be real, if you’re not slathering butter — which is not a carb by the way — all over your popcorn in this baby, you’re just not Plastics material.

In case you want to prep for the experience of watching one of the best teen comedies of a generation transform into a medley of Broadway show tunes, here’s what critics are saying about the film.

Paul Giamatti Got Very Insistent With His Agent Over Landing A Role In ‘Planet Of The Apes’

Paul Giamatti Planet of the Apes
20th Century Fox

Paul Giamatti is an actor’s actor. As an actor’s actor, you better believe he wanted in on that sweet primate action when Tim Burton announced a now-infamous remake of Planet of the Apes starring Mark Wahlberg. However, Giamatti’s agents would like their client’s actual face to be seen on screen, thus boosting his profile, and he was having none of that.

During a new roundtable talk for The Hollywood Reporter, Giamatti opened up about how he made it passionately (and fiery) clear to his agents that they better not screw him by telling the studio he wants to play a boring human. Paul Giamatti wanted to be a damn ape, and they’d better make it happen:

No, that was the strange fulfillment of a deep dream. To be an ape in the Planet of the Apes? If that had been it for me, I would have died happy. I couldn’t believe I was going to be able to play a talking orangutan! My agents were like, “Don’t you want to be a human so they can see your face?” And I was like, “If you tell them I want to be a human, I’m going to burn the agency.” Who wants to be the human?

The actor also tossed out some more love for his role in the Howard Stern biopic Private Parts. Giamatti played Stern’s obnoxious and over-bearing boss in a memorable role that Giamatti credits for launching his career.

“And Pig Vomit? I couldn’t believe I was being allowed off the chain like that,” he told the THR roundtable. “I’d just been in a drama school, which always felt terribly confining. I mean, look at me, man, I’m not like a Shakespeare guy. I got out and got this opportunity to do something that was absolutely bananas.”

Is Ariana Grande’s New Album Called ‘Eternal Sunshine?’

Ariana Grande is dropping her new single, “Yes, And?,” tonight — which many have suspected is the first glimpse of her upcoming album. In a new teaser for the song’s music video, fans spotted a card that read “AG7” along with some coordinates. This has sparked speculation about what Grande’s album title is.

When fans enter the coordinates listed, it takes them to Montauk, New York, where they connected that it was where the film, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, took place. Because of this, there are now questions about the film’s connection to Grande’s next record.

Here’s what to know.

Is Ariana Grande’s New Album Called Eternal Sunshine?

While Ariana Grande hasn’t exactly confirmed her next album title, she has seemed to fuel the fan theories that Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind has something to do with it. Following the coordinate theory, an Instagram fan account posted a clip from the film, and Grande commented a red heart on it.

Someone in the comments also pointed out that Grande’s late ex, Mac Miller, had been a documented fan of the movie. So, it could possibly be a sadder tie-in if so.

Another possibility is that it’s not for an album title at all, but maybe for just another song from the record.

Finally, Grande has stated that the lead actor in the movie, Jim Carrey, was her childhood crush — and maybe he pops up in one of the music videos from this upcoming album cycle.

Check out Ariana Grande’s coordinate teaser below.

When Will Ariana Grande’s ‘Yes And?’ Be On Apple Music?

Ariana Grande made fans wait three years, but she plans to keep them fed in 2024. So far, she has confirmed her seventh studio album — and first since 2020’s Positions — will arrive at some point this year, among Uproxx’s “Most Anticipated Albums Of 2024.” This morning, January 11, Grande teased the video for “Yes, And?” will drop on Friday, January 12, at 7 a.m. PST. By then, we will have had plenty of time to digest the presumed lead single of her aforementioned forthcoming album.

When Will Ariana Grande’s “Yes And?” Be On Apple Music?

There is no reason to believe this release will differ from every other major music release that hits DSPs, including Apple Music, promptly at midnight EST (9 p.m. PST).

Last week, Grande posted on her Instagram Story that “Yes, And?” is not the title of her album, but the single’s cover art is “indeed the album cover (well…….one of them!)” So, that’s exciting. The song’s video figures to set the pop world on fire, consider the teaser kind of already has. In it, gossipy people at a swanky office are lamenting “typical Ari” and longing for “the old Ari; you know, the singer,” who had a “ponytail a few centimeters higher.” Already, Grande has expertly fired back at online trolls speculating about her every move. Please, bring me the full song and video ASAP.

Jason Momoa Refutes Any ‘RBF’ Allegations Coming His Way And Promises Emotional Biker Conversations In ‘On The Roam’

Jason Momoa On The Roam
HBO/Max

Aquawho? Jason Momoa is not talking about a certain DCEU (RIP) hero unless someone else brings it up. It’s hard to blame him after enduring a plot that sees Arthur Curry taste pee thrice, and an “I don’t know [him]” vibe emerges in a new Hollywood Reporter interview, in which he declares, “That job’s been done for I don’t know how long” and “I’m out here doing other sh*t.”

That “sh*t” includes an upcoming Max series, On The Roam, where the former Khal Drogo will do a few of his favorite things: ride bikes and (maybe) crush some beers. Actually, the beer might be waiting for another project, which has to do with his excitement to soon direct a Guinness commercial. He also co-directs and stars in On the Roam, and the series promises to go far beyond the usual stereotypical view of bikers as tough dudes who display only tough guy facial expressions. Actually, these dudes will have very “emotional conversations,” and Momoa discussed why the series goes there and also pushed back on his kids’ assertion that he suffers from RBF:

All those men are the most heartfelt, beautiful men. Maybe our faces don’t look like that. My kids are always like, “You have that resting b*tch face.” I’m like, “No, that’s just my stare and my forehead. I’m happy!” If you meet those guys, you’re going to laugh and be accepted right in.

RBF happens to the best and worst of us, my dude. There’s also no word on whether Momoa will reprise his recent “naked bike ride” routine for this series, so you’ll simply need to tune in and find out.

The On The Roam logline calls the series “an eight-part cinematic docu-series following Jason Momoa as he travels the country chasing art, adventure, and friendship through the lens of craftsmanship.” The show debuts on February 8 with two episodes and weekly followups, and the trailer can be seen below.
